in Texas and is from California where we live, we had a 1 week visit to Texas to make a lot of decisions. We decided to meet with John first regarding floral design. This might not fit the best advice, but we never met with another florist and decided to go with John during our first meeting! Laurel is eclectic and bohemian, but wanted an elegant wedding that was still 'her'. Her stipulations - every bouquet and centerpiece should include a purple/blue hydrangea, nothing should be a round ball, she wanted every piece to be a little different, and she wanted elements of surprise from her color palette. John immediately started showing her different flowers and other foliage that hit the mark. He just seemed to 'get her'. Also, the order was big, but John worked with us to stay close to our original budget. The results were GEORGEOUS! ith a bunch of flowers. He was the only florist we met with who actually showed us his visions. After meeting with him, we knew he was the one. Every time I spoke with him, he asked how I was doing and we talked about the over all wedding process. I felt like he genuinely cared about our entire wedding. John could not have made the setting up and clean up process less stressful for me. The day of the wedding I wanted to make sure everything was how I wanted. It was set up exactly how I wanted and the flowers were better than I could have pictured. Even my fiancé was impressed with how our centerpieces turned out and he's very hard to please. I definitely recommend John! I could not have been happier.

feel like they were. Concerning John's response time, he needed a couple days in order to respond to any emails sent. When he did send responses, it seemed like he never read the emails completely through and only addressed the first question/concern asked. I had to have my planner ask him several times to update the proposal because he would not change it in a timely manner but had no problem charging me the second I called with credit card information. John is very unprofessional. My then-fiancé and I were having some issues in our relationship. I cancelled the wedding for less than 24 hours. When my planner cc-ed all my vendors in one email that the wedding would continue as planned, John replied all "ok....Hope This is final..... John". In addition, the charge for renting vases and floral frogs were the same as if I went out and bought it. So I opted to purchase my own vases. I asked him a week before the wedding when I should bring it in and when his open hours were. He didn't answer the question and said he could meet whenever. So I asked to meet him the Monday of the wedding week in the morning. The morning of the meeting date, my prior engagements took longer than expected and I had to run to work. My fiancée dropped off the vases instead of me. When I asked how the drop off went, he said John was waiting for another appointment to show up. When I returned home that night, I saw this email. "Hi _________, I thought you were going to drop off your vases this am before 10am. Today was to be my day off, but came in to get the vases. I am not available tomorrow or Wednesday. Your wedding is on Friday.....I have to have the vases definitely Thursday morning by 10am if I am going to be able to do everything you are wanting...Just another reason, I hate working with other peoples stuff! PLease let me know!!!! John" I would not recommend John to anyone.

her georgeous white peonies in late in the year for her July 25th wedding.......he was the only florist we talked to who did just tell us that peonies will be out of season you need a substitute. He did have another georgeous flower lined up just in case he couldn't secure her peonies that had the same shape and texture and "fluffy" appearance, but he found us beautiful blooms just like she and envisioned. He was extremely helpful with the bridesmaid bouquets as well, pulling several samples out of his cooler during our visits and showing us pictures of other so my daughter could get a good feel for the shape and color of each flower. .....and when she decided to incorporate additional colors into the bridesmaid bouquets just a few weeks before the wedding, John was more than happy to meet with us again and recommended flowers to bring in the additional colors. His execution was flawless and all of the flowers were simply breathtaking.

My sister and my mom fell in love with him right away, and I did by the end of the appointment because the flowers he was putting together were gorgeous. He sent us a proposal and it was a little over my budget, I emailed him back and asked if there was anyway we could get it within my budget and without a pause he said no problem and sent me a revised proposal that was perfect. My mom and him kept in contact throughout the planning process and he was great at reassuring her as well. The day of the wedding he showed up with the flowers and I was speechless, they were more beautiful than I could ever imagine and my bouquet was gorgeous. I had people telling me after, that even though they usually didn't pay attention to flowers, that ours were amazing. When we got to the reception I was still nervous but when I opened the doors to the ballroom I was blown away with his center pieces. He took the little vision that I had and made it absolutely incredible, he even gave us a few smaller arrangement for the cocktail hour that I didn't even think of. The flowers lasted for almost a week after the wedding, still looking gorgeous and I keep looking at my pictures just to look at my bouquet. John was amazing to work with and really made our special day even more special with his incredible eye and talent. I highly recommend John! All of my flowers were absolutely gorgeous and he was so calming with both my mom and I. The flowers couldn't have turned out prettier.

Each time I kept reinforcing what I wanted, yet they did not seem to care. They obviously were not going to work with me and it was not going to be what I wanted on my wedding day ... but what THEY wanted. I was very disappointed with all of my interactions with this company. Don't waste your time unless you just want to give them free reign to do whatever is it THEY want on your big day.

As if the flowers weren't enough, he made sure he was early to arrive at the venue and worked behind the scenes to ensure every table was stunning. Once the wedding festivities concluded it worked quickly to help clean up so we wouldn't get charged for the extra hour at our venue. I cannot say enough about him. Pure genius!

Our bouquets were just beautiful, the corsages were elegant and all of the moms and grandmas felt so special with their unique corsages. Now onto the amazing part. Our centerpieces were just beautiful. We alternated 2 different designs on the tables and the flowers selected were beautiful. He even added things that were just perfect. He was an absolute genius w/ his designs. He did a great job of incorporating what the venue had to offer with the work he did and it was perfect. Hands down, John and his team were amazing to work with and I could not have asked for more perfect flowers. I will say that I was not super strict on what he did and really just gave light guidance. And he worked his magic and provided something truly breathtaking. I was not worried one bit and would not change one thing!! Also, you can easily tell that John is super professional and committed to providing a perfect experience. I did not worry one bit about him arriving on time, providing what he said and arriving at the end for the break down and gathering of vases. A Man and Woman Floral was a key part of making my day special and just perfect. I recommend them hands down!!!! They are the BEST!!!

So, when I called to confirm he had all the information needed for our wedding one week ahead of our wedding, he was not aware of our ceremony and/or reception. John did not panic, but calmly stated that he will get it taken care of. And he did! I'm just glad that I called 1 week prior to our wedding to double-check on whether he needed anything or not! Again, even with the late notice, he called all of his vendors to receive the flowers we wanted/asked for, arranged them, and made the delivery on time! The flowers were perfect, beautiful, and just plain stunning. Thank you, John.

I knew was that I wanted purple flowers and calla lilies somewhere in there. Not only did John incorporate both of those into my bouquets and boutonnieres, he added a surprise color that I hadn't even thought of: orange! It was gorgeous! John knows his flowers and he knows exactly which ones to put together to create ceremony and reception flowers that complement each other. All of this at a great price! He even showed up about 4 hours before the wedding to set up everything. Very highly recommended!!!

I was nervous that I couldn't see what he came up with before the big day, but he called me a few days before to confirm everything and I was so extremely pleasantly surprised when I saw them! You won't be disappointed!

On my wedding day, he was the only vendor that was on time, which was very good since I had changed the layout of the ballroom the night before the wedding, and didn't have time to let him know. I had 2 different styles of centerpieces, and a complete different layout from what he knew, and he placed and scrambled everything so nice, so perfect, making the room flow smooth and elegantly. Everyone told me my centerpieces were beautiful and very original. He also did my bouquet which was prettier than I had imagined it. The roses are still fully alive today and smell nice and fresh still! Just unbelievable, I wouldn't have had it differently, and I'm really happy that I found him!!!! :-)

For our reception, we planned to serve dinner family-style and opted for 4 super long tables (50 ft.) instead of round tables, so it was very important to me that the floral arrangements didn’t get in the way of the food. John understood this and didn’t try to make me compromise on this, as some of the other florists did. After our initial consultation, we met once more for him to show me a mock-up of what our centerpieces would look like, and I couldn’t have been happier. Of the 3 florists I interviewed, he was also the most reasonably priced.

The only slight drawback for me was communication- at times it was hard to get a timely email response, and we went back and forth quite a bit when I didn't feel like the flowers were going to resemble the picture I had brought in for an example. BUT, when we weren't getting anywhere via email, John very generously let us come back to the shop and set up an example looked amazing at the wedding. I only included this in the interest of placing a really thorough review- and bottom line, John went above and beyond to understand exactly what we wanted and worked with me on the things I wasn't loving. I was thrilled with our bouquets, centerpieces and bouts day of, and I would recommend A Man And A Woman to anyone in the market for a wedding florist. Great work!!

the gazebo where we held our ceremony with white fabric. That wasn't how had imagined it. It did the job but was nothing to call home about. Our ceremony was only 15 minutes, tops, so I didn't want to go all out on the outside decor, but I wish there was a little more work put into that. I know florists are pretty expensive, but I feel like their prices are quite high. Our original quote was over $4000, so we cut back to only my bouquet and the bouts. That was still close to $500. My bouquet was made on mini calla's and the bouts were only 1 calla with some of that green stuff. Who knows, that may be a good prices in the wedding market. It just seemed pretty steep to me.

Orange and brown with hints of green and deep purple (fall colors) When people heard my colors they weren't too sure how it would turn out but everyone said it looked beautiful. My theme was more elegant than rustic but I wanted to incorporate pumpkins in some way. They came up with the idea of mini pumpkins placed inside the centerpieces. It gave the perfect touch.

I personally love their black iron arbor. It presents a very elegant frame for a wedding ceremony and the satin ribbon and flower arrangements they paired it up with really dressed it up. And they worked and tweaked so that I was able to get everything I wanted while staying within my budget. I highly recommend them!

and the reception. We had so many people commenting on how beautiful the floral arrangements and decorations were. He's a nice person, very approachable, and so creative. One thing I liked best about John when meeting with florists is that he was bringing out actual flowers to put together bouquets to see what I liked, so I could literally see what I was going to get and give input. A Man and a Woman are excellent.
