Early in our planning, we had our chosen venue double their prices that was more than we could afford. Sandra helped us find an equally beautiful venue that fell within our price range! Planning a destination wedding can be really difficult but Sandra happily accommodated us with countless 1:1 phone calls where we could plan out every detail! We also had an opportunity to visit Maui for on a wedding planning trip! During our visit, Sandra made sure we could meet with all of our vendors face to face. We knew she was connected with the best of vendors but after that trip, we were so confined in all of our selections and it was abundantly clear how respected Sandra was on the island! On our wedding day, Sandra’a team created such a beautiful space! Every detail of the wedding went seamlessly and according to plan! She, along with Joanna, we’re the perfect wedding day coordinators. In addition to that great duo, Sandra also provided us with a day-of wedding specialist, Courtney! Courtney was an absolute gem! e ceremony and the reception were gorgeous. We were so happy with all the vendors Sandra connected us with, especially Rev Joe Miles, Dmitri and Sandra (photography) and Sugar Beach Events Catering. Sandra took care of every single detail on the wedding day - I didn't have to worry about anything, not even the several antibiotics I needed to take on the day. Sandra kept a timer and brought me my medication when needed. That was huge! Sandra also drove my flower girl and her mother to the venue separately so my flower girl wouldn't have such a big day ahead of her. This was wonderful.
The week of the wedding Sandra replied to every question and inquiry nearly immediately. I definitely felt like Sandra's priority at that time.
While planning the wedding we had some frustrations with communicating with Sandra. With the time difference and international phone call charges, we only communicated through email. Often we would wait for two months before receiving a reply to an email. I had to remind Sandra several times of specific things we did not want so we would not have extra charges (no DJ, wedding cake or boutonnieres). However, I did have some changes made to the plans when a bridesmaid pulled out of the wedding and Sandra was accommodating to these changes.
We also had more charges than expected on the final invoice. My husband took meticulous notes on every expenditure and we were charged more than we had expected. When we questioned this, we simply were told "the charges are correct". We still don't understand why we were charged more.
Overall, for the amazing service we received in the week leading up to and the day of the wedding I am happy with Sandra's service. I would suggest that brides hiring A Maui Wedding Day expect some communication issues, and watch carefully your expenditures!

Sandra was fantastic. We had some issues with our trip getting to Hawaii so it was very awesome that once we got there, she took care of everything and we didn't have to worry about the wedding. We just wanted a beach wedding with our toes in...
the sand, and only had a couple details that were very important to us.
When we first met Sandra, she was very organized and picked a beautiful location for us. Too bad mother nature didn't listen and it was extremely windy on our wedding day. She called us in the morning and suggested another beach that was very close, we thought just as beautiful, and much more protected for the wind. When we showed up everything was set up, including the details we asked for. We are very thankful for choosing her to do the wedding.
Everything else she chose was great as well. My now wife loved her flowers, the musician was great, and the officiant made us feel very comfortable and did a wonderful job. My wife also commented several times on the lady Sandra had come to do her hair and how happy she was with that.
As I said before, from the start we felt comfortable with Sandra as soon as we met her. It was wonderful to not have to worry about the wedding and we could just enjoy Hawaii with our friends and family who made the trip, and we can't imagine how the wedding could have ended up better.

Frustration-Disappointment-Stressful-Confusing- just a few words to describe the experience we had with Sandra as my daughter and i planned her wedding. Almost everything we asked for was executed slightly differently than planned. ...differen...
t high boys, different bouquets and boutonnieres, different colored up lighting ( purple not white) , and on and on. She even left the store price tags on the pillows and cushions that were purchased for the events lounge area. Guest's welcome packs were filled and partially distributed with only half of the contents we sent to her for inclusion. At a certain point, we took most of the detail out of her hands( brides maids quickly remade all the bouquets wraps and made new boutonnieres with flowers from the venue garden) and had an incredible wedding DESPITE her lack of planning and coordination skills- She was extremely difficult to communicate with and her invoicing process is equally confusing & difficult- there comes a point where its easier to pay her than try to figure it out. She actually chased my husband and I down the venue path at one point during the end of the wedding reception to ask for payment for the last minute tenting...could that not have waited until the next day? Just one more example of flawed thought process. Overall, we were very disappointed

We offer unlimited email and phone communications to our clients and work with only reliable and professional wedding vendors. After receiving an unusually large amount of communications from our client to let us know that the flowers must look exactly like the pictures sent, our florist exercised extreme care to ensure that the flowers were as exact to the pictures as possible. We usually do not recommend picking flowers from the owners' private garden.
We understand your frustration with the LED palm tree up lights. The white lights were confirmed at set up, then ½ or them defaulted to purple in the rain that day. Unfortunately, rain is an act of nature. The purple was not visible on site, but seen in photos. Per our contract, we are not responsible for complications for delays or changes due to inclement weather. Our vendor has provided a refund for 6 up lights.
We kindly provide complimentary services-
We stored 20 boxes that our client shipped in advance which we unpacked and removed price tags, but apologize that we missed a tag located on the bottom of 1 pillow. We put together and delivered 65 guest welcome baskets and bags at no charge. Our client was aware of the shortage gift items so told us to use what was sent.
We received a higher than normal amount of daily change orders. Our client let us know that she needed time to review the before paying and we completely understand that. We prefer to not have to confront anyone in person regarding payments. An approved back up tent was installed and used for our client’s event. The invoice is not paid in full at this time.
We are pleased to hear that you thought the wedding was incredible. We believe that it would be impossible for a destination wedding with 109 guests to be incredible without professional planning and coordination skills and a team of dedicated vendors, working especially behind the scenes ensuring that we meet our client’s high expectations in every way, shape and form. me to meet me on a moment's notice when I flew to Maui to check out the wedding venue), as well as very affordable. I now realize why it is important to have at least a day of coordinator, especially when planning a destination wedding. Leading up to the wedding, Sandra provided vendor suggestions to supplement my own research. I will be forever grateful to her for introducing me to Rev. Joe Miles, who stepped up to become our wedding officiant when we decided to make a change two weeks before our wedding. She also thought of simple, but very important things, like having our musician bring an extra clip on microphone for the officiant and groom. Our guests would not have heard our vows without her suggestion. She also made sure our DIY flowers and decor was set up. I totally underestimated how busy I would be on the day of the wedding with hair, makeup, and coordinating last minute things. I thought I would be able to oversee a lot of the decoration by myself, but there was no way to do it with all that was going on. Thankfully, Sandra was there to take care of all of it for me! The only thing I wished Sandra would have done more of was push me to make decisions sooner and have more of a defined plan going in to the wedding day. I made a lot of decisions at the very last minute and on the fly, and ran out of time at the end because of this. That said, our wedding was beautiful and everything came together thanks to Sandra's help!

When I did get on island and got to meet her, she was nice. And she did lend me a conch shell for my flower girl and provided vases for my candy bar which was awesome. That was really helpful and I appreciated that she did that.
Putting those kind deeds aside, communicating with her was very difficult and there was an issue with my invoice total which I just ended up paying despite it being incorrect. When I would speak with her over the phone during the planning of my wedding, each time I had a question, she wouldn't answer it. She would just say, "uh - huh" with no real response. My experience working with Sandra was one of frustration and disappointment.
Our wedding coordinator was FABULOUS. She took care of all the decorating and details the day of the wedding while encouraging me to just relax with my bridesmaids. Me and my (now husband) are clueless when it comes to all this wedding stuff, ...
however our unfamiliarity went unnoticed as she was always there to prepare us, cue us, and do all the behind scenes prep. She was our right hand woman. Since our wedding & reception was really casual, I didn't think we needed assistance with wedding coordination. However I realized afterwards I absolutely needed her that day and could not have been more pleased with the day and the venue. She is every bride's dream.
