Our experience with A Music Plus Entertainment was pretty devastating. The company was incredibly thorough in asking for what we wanted initially. We filled out a questionnaire and even chose to add a list of songs we wanted for the night and t...hen we spoke with the event coordinator about the questionnaire to make sure every detail was curated and correct.
Error 1: On the day of our wedding, our DJ played the wrong song for me to walk down the aisle to. He played an interview about the actual song and my wedding coordinator had to run over to him to tell him to stop and find the right song. We didn’t want to focus on the mistake as they happen and every wedding has little things, but unfortunately mistakes kept occurring.
Error 2: The speeches were 45 minutes late as our DJ had gone MIA and then the microphones died. And during our first dance, the music cut out and more technical difficulties ensued. Our family had to scramble to find extension cords to plug things in to help him. This was at our house so I know this setup may have been unfamiliar and unique, but we provided outlets and the necessary space for him and I wish he would have figured this all out beforehand. It felt as though he was not prepared.
Error 3: For my husband’s mother son dance, the DJ played a song we had never even heard before. I had confirmed what songs to be played for each special dance via the questionnaire and phone meeting with the coordinator a few weeks prior to the event.
Error 4: Our dance floor was opened up later due to the whole night being behind schedule after the speech incident and unbeknownst to me at the time, our friend had ended up privately paying the DJ money so he would stay longer.
Error 5: The DJ hardly played any songs from our extensive list we had sent and discussed with the coordinator. And in fact, he played the only song my husband had requested not be played. We had discussed that we were happy if he added some of his music in there, but it was almost entirely his choices, not the songs we had chosen prior. Some of our must play artists from the questionnaire were not even played the entire night.
We both have an incredibly difficult time with confronting things like this and tried to make the best of things as we didn’t want this to ruin what is supposed to be one of the most special nights of your life, but frankly, it was upsetting that every phase of our wedding included large mistakes.
I reached out to the coordinator who has been overall responsive thankfully and is the reason I gave the extra star as well as the owner, Pat, and my mom was in contact with the coordinator, as well. However, neither of us have heard a word from Pat since a September 1. He said he would investigate, apologized, and explained that this was one of their top DJs at the company. Our wedding was August 28 and I first started emailing with them on August 29.
I really hate that I am writing this and have seldom posted a negative review because I don’t want to hurt anyone’s feelings, but I want other couples to know so they don’t have this experience. I have not felt the aftermath of our experience to be customer oriented or timely. Music is something that my husband and I love so much and it was one of our most important aspects of our wedding. We were so thrilled with how thorough they were initially about getting information on what exactly we wanted, so we were crushed when the results were not what we asked for or paid for.
