If TheKnot.com gave you the option to select infinite stars, I would. Debi Lilly and her Perfect Event team helped me achieve the wedding of my dreams and it was no easy task! I'd only been planning it for 40 years.
We welcomed guests spanning three countries and seven states to Martha's Vineyard, and coordinated an entire weekend of activities for both kids and adults alike. Once the festivities were over, almost all our guests shared that it was the best wedding they ever attended. Each one felt welcomed and that was exactly what we wanted.
What made it so special for Noel, my husband, and me, was that Debi Lilly and team allowed us to be present at our own wedding. Literally, we showed up and enjoyed it as much as everyone else. All the plans Debit and team helped us put into place were executed without a hitch. If there was a hitch, we had no idea what it was because it was fixed before we ever knew.
Now, were there things we needed during the weekend? Of course, and do you know what? Debi Lilly was right there when a friend's child missed his bar of chocolate in the welcome bag or my grandmother needed a coat at the reception. No detail was too small or no ask too great for Debi Lilly and her team.
We are forever grateful for the amazing experience they provided us that we can now enjoy for our lifetime. Here are a few of the pictures of some of the items they provided...from planning to coasters to florals to forever friends through this amazing experience. Thank you, Perfect Event team!!
Can't say enough positive things about Debi and her staff. An endless source of ideas at every price point and an amazing ability to execute the ideas flawlessly. Not an easy task as this wedding was at Martha's Vineyard with the Bride from Ireland, and the MOB from Houston, TX. Can't think of one thing that I would have changed or that was disappointing. We had families from 5 countries and 9 different states. Debi planned and executed the rehearsal dinner, wedding and reception, and the farewell brunch without a hitch. I have received so many comments of what a great time was had by all-kids and adults alike. I felt like Debi was another member of the family during the entire process, and cared about the event as much as we did.
I have worked with Debi on several events and she is a total professional and a creative genius! She always comes up with fun details that make each event special and unique. Debi and her team alway reply to emails quickly and are extremely knowledgeable. Her loft space, DL Loft, is stunning and I have used it time and time again. Debi truly knows how to take the stress out of planning an event. As someone with 4 years of experience in wedding and event catering, I highly recommend working with her. She is the best of the best.

We enlisted APE as our month of wedding coordination, floral + décor for our wedding. From the early days of working with Debil Lilly, through the day of our wedding she did nothing but underwhelm and under deliver. Details were constantly missed, causing us to reiterate, re review and re specify time and time again. Frankly, the majority of our time in the planning process was spent checking in on her and team. We kept an ongoing detailed excel document of our own and confirmed fluctuating pricing and and many mathematical errors. Through various planning documents, itineraries, proposals etc. we called out continuous errors in math, detail, requested changes and due dates. If you hire Debi and APE for "month of" coordination services - don't expect to be prioritized until one week out + expect unforeseen expense thrown at you days before your big day. In the height of poor business practice, exactly 7 days our wedding, Debi emailed us asking for her hotel accommodations. This was THIS FIRST TIME we were asked for this. There was no email, nothing in the contract stating this need, our block was full & we were forced to move a family member to have somewhere for her to stay, to ensure we would have help for the weekend. Debi was to come with multiple team members to for seamless execution of our wedding weekend. With many moving parts, we were assured she would have an "all star team" there - three named young ladies who were nowhere in sight on wedding weekend. Instead, it was her teenage daughter who was brought along to help carry things. We paid for people that never showed. Custom items were made for our party, and shown to Debi for reception set up. These items were ignored and left to waste in the basement despite specific direction to distribute - both verbally + via itinerary (which Debi claimed to live by that weekend.) The amount of money wasted on these items exceeds $650. When reception concluded, all flowers were thrown away without our knowledge or consent. (My bridal bouquet was included in the bunch, which contained a valuable and sentimental family charm.) When I asked about large décor pieces missing from the event, Debi claimed all these items were "broken". Instead, pieces from her showroom appeared on the property on wedding day, rather than what we specifically rented, confirmed and paid for. Envelopes w/ vendor payment were left abandoned on a counter, found the morning after our reception. Debi was nowhere in sight + vendors approached me + the groom, asking for final checks. KEY CONTRACTED ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES were completely disregarded and abused. The list goes on...
It's inevitable small errors will occur throughout the planning process/on wedding day, but don't expect Debi to take ownership of any mistake or ever offer an apology for her wrong doing. As you can imagine, I have the heaviest heart reflecting on the time spent in planning & organizing our special day...and how quickly this team allowed those visions to crumble. Luckily, no planner or florist can ever ruin the amazing love & support of wedding day, but PLEASE, do yourself a favor and do not be fooled by Debi's phony promise to deliver. LOOK ELSEWHERE + save yourself the headaches, sleep deprivation, stress + complete disappointment.
I was a guest at a wedding APE did florals and decor for this summer. Additionally, Debi Lilly was their month of coordination person. All I can say is, the look on the bride + groom's face day of the event (and afterward).... absolutely broke my heart. Everything turned out beautifully because of THEIR efforts. Nothing was a result of any contracted assistance from their hired help, Debi.
In fact, Debi was running around the event taking pictures while guests cleaned up broken glass on the dance floor. There was no "team" there to help her, as the couple paid for. The bride's vision was not adhered to, and none of the floral or decor that was specified in the contract was actually executed on that day, vendors were left unpaid and folks approached the B+G since planner was nowhere in sight, favors were never put out and left to waste, bouquets were thrown away without notification... ugh, the list goes on.
All I can say is - this is NOT how it should be. I can't sit silently and let this happen to anyone else. Do your research and be sure you understand who you are hiring and what sort of work (or lack thereof) they actually will provide on your important day.
