Have reached out three times over the last three weeks regarding our proposal/updates/etc and all emails have gone unanswered (including to their “info” email). While I’m sure they’re great if hired, we have chosen to not move forward due to the blatant lack of a response.
We loved the food from ASOL! It was delicious and the presentation was great, and they handled everything really smoothly. I honestly didn't even notice half of what they did, they were so smooth and unobtrusive. They were also responsive to some of the requests we had after our tasting, so our menu was just what we wanted. Our initial event manager left a couple months before our wedding, but Sena picked up where she left off without any issues and we had a great experience with her and her team!
We used a Spice of Life for our wedding this June and loved the food! We did a tasting with them prior to the wedding and everything we tried was delicious. We narrowed down to a buffet style dinner with BBQ chicken and a carving station for steak. We received multiple compliments from our guest how good the food was and of course, we agree! They were professional, the buffet ran swiftly, and the staff was attentive. We would recommend!
We had A Spice of Life cater our wedding in Estes Park and we are so happy with how the food turned out. The hanger steak was a big hit and we got lots of compliments on the food. Kathy who was our contact was very helpful through the whole process too.
I recommend A Spice of Life catering to any couple looking for impressive wedding food. From start to finish, Rebecca Major, helped us organize catering for my wedding. She answered any questions I had during the consultation and tasting and was in constant communication with me throughout the process even on the wedding day. Rebecca was professional, helpful, organized, and kind. Not to mention... the food was divine! Our appetizers comprised of Tomato Basil Soup & Rye Provolone Grilled Cheese Shooters, Caprese Skewers, and Poblano Corn Fritters. The Tomato Basil Soup was a favorite among our wedding guests! Our equally tasty entrees comprised of Chicken Scallopini and Strip Loin Steak.
Thank you to the Spice of Life team for making our wedding so special and so yummy!
Was told this was the best food for a wedding. When we had our tasting it was incredible the food and the presentation. We were so excited for our guests to have the food. Unfortunately for the actual wedding dinner the presentation was pretty bad looked like food was just thrown on the plate. The chicken was supposed to have a glaze there was no glaze, the polenta had no flavor. We had a person with an allergy was told they would adapt no problem, the person recieved a bag of steamed vegetables which was not what we had discussed. The most disappointing when we reported back to the company they said someone would reach out and no one reached out. Had high hopes unfortunately didn't deliver day of the wedding spent a lot of money to be disappointed.
We needed to find a vendor that offered vegan options as well as meat options and that it wasn’t basic or boring vegan options. We were also looking for a catering company that followed sustainable practices. A Spice of Life was the perfect fit for those needs as well as our budget. Kathy was so wonderful in helping us choose options that would meet our budget as well as deciding on our final menu. She was there for us every step along the way. Our tasting was fantastic and exactly what we hoped for! Our wedding day ran fairly smoothly. We decided to do a buffet for cost and it was disappointing to hear that we had run out of food before the last person was served even though we were missing 6 people who were supposed to show up to our wedding, but didn’t make it day of. Our day of catering manager/captain, Khadija was incredible! She was SO attentive and ensured we were well fed and taken care of as a couple. Truly, amazing team and food. I would highly recommend A Spice of Life Catering!
A Spice of Life Catering + Events catered my 75-person wedding, and went above and beyond to help make our day perfect. Emily Sussman, the Senior Event Specialist, was incredibly helpful throughout the entire process. She was kind, flexible, and, helped us problem solve not only the catering service, but, she also managed our rentals. It was such a relief to have Emily on our side. Further, the food was incredible! We served their BBQ option to a bunch of folks from Texas, and, they loved it! In fact, they said that the meal at our wedding was the best meal they had over the entire 3-day event. I can't recommend A Spice of Life more. Again, their team is incredibly hands-on and they make incredible food!
Have you ever dreamed of what heaven would taste like? The answer is spice of life catering! They catered our wedding with Kathy Vaughn and it was absolutely phenomenal. I was so so lucky to have such an organized, timely, and very tasty catering company. They matched the decor of our wedding and my favorite flower to their food set up for cocktail hour. They even put a small basket of food in our wedding suite on the night of the wedding. I was so grateful because I was so slammed, I barely got a chance to eat. The food was so so tasty and all of our guests just raved about it. Spice of Life handled the pandemic very smoothly and adjusted our wedding date four times as we adjusted to the pandemic four times. I was so grateful to have them on our wedding team! They are an absolute gem to work with! I would highly recommend them! :)
We had an amazing experience with the quality of the food and staff at our wedding. The on-site staff truly went out of their way to make sure we were taken care of and had everything we needed. We would have had a perfect experience, however, to put it bluntly the communication by our ASOL catering representative was inconsistent and absent throughout the process, even during the final days leading up to our wedding leaving us with requests and questions left unanswered. It was not uncommon to go weeks without receiving answers to our emailed questions, sometimes requiring us to call directly to the company to inquire. This was frustrating and at times stressful to deal with, but fortunately the wedding day came and went without any issues! We seriously can't commend the staff and on-site manager for their professionalism and quality of service. The food was also outstanding!
Upon recommendation from a friend, we used Spice of Life for our engagement party. Everything was perfect--the displays, the service, and most importantly the food! I still dream of the tenderloin sliders. Emily was so easy to work with and her attention to the smallest details was amazing. She transformed our kitchen and really made it a magical night of celebrating. We hired them to cater our wedding and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to others looking for good food and friendly faces.
We had a very negative experience with A Spice Of Life and would strongly recommend against hiring them for your catering needs. To give credit where credit is due, the actual day of staff were fine, they seemed polite and overall things ran smoothly. There were some minor things that were less than ideal, but nothing worth writing a poor review over. (One example being their bartender totally disregarding the recipes & proportions we’d provided for our specialty cocktails, then saying we’d ran out of vodka a couple hours in, resulting in one of our guests leaving our venue to buy more, only to find out we hadn’t actually run out.)
The really negative experience was throughout the planning process leading up to our wedding, specifically with our event specialist & unfortunately, even one of the owners. There was a lot of stress and drama trying to communicate with our event specialist (we were made to feel like wanting any email response back on questions was an unreasonable expectation, and we were consistently following up after waiting 3-4 weeks with no reply.) One of the owners reached out the day before the wedding and was exceptionally unprofessional, ranging from patronizing to accusatory and borderline aggressive. (One of the members of our wedding party overheard the conversation & used the word “gaslighting” to describe the way the owner spoke, and that was not an inaccurate or unfair description.)
There were many failures on their part and frustratingly, zero willingness to take any responsibility, and when we simply tried holding them accountable, we were berated. We worked with a half dozen vendors for our wedding and were absolutely thrilled and so comfortable with all of them except for A Spice of Life.
Please stay away from this caterer. They ruined my wedding and completely lied to us. We had delicious, warm, seasoned food at the trial with gravy and all. They said that a complimentary snack basket would be waiting in the grooms room as well as the bridal suite. Neither was provided. The food was cold, unseasoned and 100% NOT the dinner we had at trial. We were ahead of schedule for dinner so you would think that means the food is at least warm but it wasn't. No gravy on the dry pork loin either. Vegetables were not seasoned at all. Truly awful. We spoke to them about how unhappy we were and they basically shrugged there shoulders and ignored our complaint. No discount. I really don't want anyone else being scammed and having there once in a lifetime day ruined by bad food. Guests flew in for the wedding and were served dry, cold, unseasoned food. This was extremely embarrassing. The trial is a scam. Please do not risk your beautiful day by having this company cater it. Reviews were great, trial was great so I am confused as to what happened. It makes me cry at the fact that I feel they were prejudiced towards us because we don't fit with their ideal clientele. Stay away and find a catering company that cares about their clients.
A Spice of Life was a pleasure to work with! They catered our wedding this summer and did a wonderful job. The followed all current protocols and provided delicious food and great service. Kathy was our main contact to work with and she was wonderful! She KNOWS the business in and out and was the BEST to work with. Everyone to this day is raving about the short ribs from the wedding! Thank you!
Dawn and Melody were absolutely amazing! I am pretty sure they helped us with things that weren’t apart of their job description. Our guests loved the food! We highly recommend A Spice A Life Catering+Events. They go above and beyond!
Thanks for making our special day great and stress free.
We used A Spice of Life for our Sunday brunch wedding. The entire process was so easy and Amanda helped us put together our perfect menu. On the day of the wedding, their staff was so friendly, professional, and just all-around wonderful. Amanda made sure the presentation of the buffet set up went along with our theme and it looked beautiful! Several of our guests raved about the food - especially the breakfast tacos with chorizo (my personal favorite) and the waffle bar. Highly recommend their catering service.
WOW! Kathy and A Spice of Life was great to work with from day one. We went to a tasting and everything was absolutely great. The place was clean, presentation was great, and the food was delicious. My wife and I are both students and so being on a budget for a wedding can be challenging. However, Kathy was such a help and allowed us to find a menu that we loved while staying in a relative budget range. The day of our wedding was great as Spice of Life came in and set everything up with ease and we hardly even noticed they were there. The timing of serving the courses was great and the food was a good temperature. Our guests had great things to say about the meal choices and serving sizes. The crew was very nice and very professional when serving the plated dinner. We even invited them to come dance at the end of the night!
We recently got married at Planet Bluegrass in Lyons (Sept 2019). One of the best decisions we made - hands down - throughout the entire wedding planning process was hiring A Spice of Life Catering. They came highly recommended by our venue coordinator and had worked together with our amazing wedding planner (Susan Lutz) who also highly recommended them, so we gave them a try. The whole experience from start to finish was so much easier and more enjoyable than we ever could have imagined. Dawn Meitz is literally a wonder woman and was absolutely amazing to work with. She's very experienced (with a variety of different wedding sizes/styles/locations) and was extremely knowledgeable. She's organized and was a great communicator during the many months leading up to the wedding - being especially patient with my mother who lives across the country and always had a million questions for her. She was friendly and accommodating and was so much fun to work with... Not only is she great at her job, but you can tell that she is passionate about what she does. She leads a great group of talented staff very well and it made a huge difference throughout the planning process and on the day of our wedding. With all of the stresses that inevitably arise in planning and executing a wedding, A Spice of Life was one of the biggest factors in making everything happen seamlessly. We had roughly 140 guests and they all raved about our caterer - from the amazing appetizers, dinner and dessert bar, to the decorations, the drinks/cocktails, service and the entire atmosphere. They were professional, incredibly efficient, they worked cohesively with all of our other vendors (DJ/flowers/planner/decor rental/etc), they came on time and left only after everything was cleaned up, and my favorite part was the special touches they included. Dawn literally walked through the buffet and lovingly served us (Bridge & Groom) our meals during the dinner. They even packaged up an adorable box of leftovers at the end of the night for us to enjoy after the wedding. A little over a month has passed since our wedding and I literally miss working with and hearing from Dawn... We were beyond impressed by A Spice of Life and are so grateful to Dawn and her amazing staff for making our wedding so incredibly special and stress-free. Do yourself a favor if you're planning a wedding in Colorado and call Dawn Meitz at A Spice of Life... 10/5 stars - Highly recommend =)
We had a Spice of Life cater for our event in October 2019. They were absolutely amazing! Everything went very smoothly. We had a fajita bar and were able to customize certain items, and it was all a hit! They even packed us a picnic basket for us to take with us afterwards so that we had something to eat after all of the festivities! We loved their food and loved their service. Highly recommend!
What a fantastic group of people to work with, and excellent food! We hired A Spice of Life to cater our wedding and they could not have been easier and more pleasant to work with. That, and the food was amazing - seriously - we got so many compliments from our guests! From the cheese board and appetizers at cocktail hour, to the main course which we did family style, to the soft pretzels for late night snacks, it was all fantastic.
They took care of so many elements and orchestrated a number of things so we didn't have to. They made our day sooth and seamless. The night was flawlessly executed and they were a huge part of that, cannot thank them enough. Hiring A Spice of Life was like having a whole second wedding planner. We would highly recommend A Spice of Life, you will not be disappointed!
A Spice of Life Catering is a wonderful full-service caterer for your wedding event. Dawn and Amy were fantastic coordinators to work with to provide our daughter with the wedding of her dreams. The food was superb, service outstanding. They walked with us every step of the way, from a wonderful tasting to helping us out of a jam when our food truck idea for the day after brunch fell through last minute. The wedding day was seamless providing the family the confidence to enjoy the day. Their attention to detail is outstanding.
We had the pleasure of working with A Spice of Life Catering to setup our ideal wedding day food for our guests. They setup a beautiful tasting for us to choose our dishes, and worked with our financial needs to suit our budget. Kathy worked closely with us to sort out details and make sure everything was done on point. She answered my many questions and was flexible with our ever evolving guest count. The food and service on wedding day was incredible, and the service was very professional. They even sent us home with a basket of food in case we didn't have much time to eat on wedding day!
Hiring A Spice of Life was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. Dawn went above and beyond for us, our day would not have been possible without her expertise. I did not have a wedding coordinator and was doing much of (read ALL) the planning myself. Every time we talked I felt more and more confident that every detail would be taken care of. Our guests are still raving about how delicious the food was! Every staff member who showed up on our wedding day had great personalities and were fun to work with. Do yourself a favor and hire the Spice of Life team for your event - you will not regret it! NOTE: If you are getting married at planet bluegrass you need A Spice of Life, they know the venue inside and out.
A Spice of Life was, without question, the one best decisions we made throughout our entire wedding planning. We were absolutely blown away by Dawn’s knowledge of our venue, the quality of both the food and service of the ASOL team and how seamless everything went because of them. From my early emails, I knew Dawn was the right choice for us. She was extremely prompt to answer emails and take phone calls. We were feeling a little stressed about two months out from our wedding and we were able to have a 2 hour in-person meeting with Dawn who walked us through every single detail from rentals to food to beverage service. On the day, the service was impeccable and food was amazing. They nailed absolutely everything, down to the tiny details. They went above and beyond and provided top notch service all night long. We keep hearing from our guests that the food was the best they’d ever had at a catered event. I genuinely can’t recommend them enough; they are the best of the best. We love you Dawn + team!
A Spice Of Life Catering is overall an amazing company! The food tastes great and they go above and beyond to ensure your day turns out perfect! Very professional staff and high quality service! Speak with Wendy Kerr and she will help achieve your vision! I have nothing but great things to say about ASOL! The ONLY reason why I did not give 5 stars is because over the course of a year and a half engagement, we had to transfer our account to a different representative with Spice and it took a minute for Wendy to get up to speed but she jumped right in and everything turned out perfect! I would highly recommend this caterer!!!
Amanda at A Spice of Life was wonderful to work with! She visited the mountain-top site two times prior to the wedding to better understand how to make the wedding successful, and her advice was invaluable. My son and his bride had a vision for an informal, rustic wedding with wonderful food and A Spice of Life played a large role in making the wedding celebratory and delicious.
JAKE IS THE BEST!!!! We were lucky enough to have had Jake by our side throughout the entire wedding process and he made our day PERFECT. We did not have to hire a wedding planner because of him. His attention to detail and sweet personality is what made our wedding a day we will never forget. Yes, the food was incredible and so beautifully presented and we received approximately one million compliments on how yummy everything was! But, his planning services are what made our day FLAWLESS! Everything ran so smoothly because of Jake and his awesome team! We loved how honest he was and we truly appreciated feeling like he was always there for us. You will not find a better caterer or person to be there for you on your special day. Book A Spice of Life Catering, it was the easiest decision we made throughout our wedding planning process.
First and foremost, Jake couldn't have been more attentive throughout the planning process (even on his "time off"). We wanted all passed and stationary foods instead of the usual sit down formal dinner (yet keeping the amount of food the same, as it was still a full dinner). Jake gave us an excellent menu to start from, and we were able to taste many of the options to create our perfect final menu. He made us feel calm and yet excited about everything your company provided, and Jake even helped us call our cake vendor who was unresponsive until hearing from him. Having Jake's support really helped us understand more about what to expect during our wedding, and that was beyond helpful. Spice of Life is clearly a 5-star company with a 5-star staff. Our wedding reception went as smoothly as possible, and it was truly magical. I know Jake and the rest of the staff worked hard throughout the entire process.
Here are a few more notes from my parents, as they were helping organize our personal decorations and the personal hosting of the event: The bartenders were EXCELLENT and knew their jobs. The food was outstanding and remained warm on the 40 degree evening. Everyone stated how delicious and fun the menu was and how it was presented (both passed and buffet style). We thought we'd have to pack up all the decorations we brought, but they were cleaned up and things were packed so we just had to take a few boxes up. The rest of the items were loaded up efficiently--they took all the extra liquor, flowers, cupcakes, and other things and loaded them into our truck.
Thrilled with our catering booked through Lionsgate Event Center.
We did a waffle bar, and all the great breakfast options–as the bride and groom we were asked frequently if we needed anything (they didn't even let us grab our own plate, we were served which was very kind).
Plus, they packed us a "to go" basket of food for after the wedding, which was so appreciated.
Food was great, service was great, highly recommend.
We chose Spice of Life because they were on our venue's preferred caterer list, and because we had previously attended a wedding they catered and really liked the food. Well, we were not disappointed! I'm really happy with how responsive and easy to work with they were, and how they were willing to provide us with a customized menu that was unique, culturally specific, and delicious! Everyone loved the food at our wedding.
The reason for a generous 3 star review is based on SIX PROBLEMS you can read about below. Positive note: 5-star for food quality and presentation, 3-star for some basic service we received and staff was pleasant and well groomed, BUT ONLY 1-star for absolutely NO attention to details on services we went over together in great detail months, to weeks, to days before wedding. BIG PROBLEM: (1) They never prepared OR served Mimosa's for toast; guests had to go up to bar line and request a glass- I had special ordered 196 champagne glasses, they only used 42. (2) Never offered to help cut the cake, so Bride and Bridesmaids made a mess of it. We ended up being short cupcakes and brought home almost all of the wedding cake. (3) Half hour late in starting the food buffet line because ASOL Event Manager was waiting for ALL the guests to be seated. On ASOL ADVISE for a buffet, we did NOT set up all the number of tables and chairs needed, since guests would go through buffet line at different times. (4) Then to complicate matters, ASOL forgot to bring the 6 tall cocktail tables to accommodate extra places for guests to put appetizers, drinks, and food plates on. (5) All they offered me was a $300 refund for their Consultation and Coordination fee, but only when I suggested it. ASOL bill was over $60 a plate for breakfast/brunch food because every food item price ends up being double by the time you pay all their administration, travel, labor, taxes, and a 20% gratuity fees. I furnished all the guest table linens, decorations, plates, flatware, and drinking cups- so they did not even have to attend to this. All tables were set up and put in place before they arrived at 9AM- we arrived at 8AM. (6) DAY STARTED OFF WITH POOR SERVICE: They did not bring their complimentary 'Fruit and Cheese Tray' 30 min after their 9AM arrival, but instead 20 minutes before ceremony started, so at 10:40. And this was only because I asked where it was, our flower girl and ring bearer were getting fussy and hungry. I think 3 stars is generous.
I couldn't have been more impressed with the professionalism and quality that A Spice of Life provided for my wedding. Jake Safran was absolutely wonderful and I cant even begin to thank him! The props they brought for the food tables were absolutely perfect. Their team was so friendly, we had a few issues not staying on schedule and a few minor details went a bit off but overall pleased.
Jake is Very well organized and always ready to help. He responded to emails in minutes!
Jake and the whole Spice of Life crew were absolutely fantastic to work with. Jake gave us his personal phone number and always responded to texts and emails within seconds. Even when he was on vacation with his family, he texted me back right away. On the day of the wedding, there was a rain storm before the ceremony and all of the chairs were soaked. Even though it was not their job at all, the crew from a spice of life ran out with towels to dry off all of the seats. Jake and the crew let us use any and all decorations they had, not just for the reception, for the ceremony as well. They provided the bridal party with snacks before the ceremony to help calm our tummies and our nerves. The food at the reception was absolutely amazing, I hear comments all of the time for my guests about how delicious it was. Everybody went back for seconds! I would recommend a spice of life for any event!!
A Spice of Life is always wonderful to work with. I work at a venue in downtown Boulder and recommend ASOL for your wedding or corporate catering. Their staff is always professional and accommodating - not to mention, their food is delicious!
We knew from the start that we would go with Spice of Live catering for our daughter's wedding. The food selection was far and above any of the catering companies we had previously interviewed. The presentation of our dinner menu was exquisite. Todd Eads was very instrumental in helping us with our decision making as well as providing guidance throughout the planning process. He is very thorough, organized, and extremely personable. The staff was very professional in serving our 200 guests promptly and efficiently. I highly recommend Spice of Life for any event, large or small....they are simply the BEST!
Everything with Amanda and her team was extremely easy to organize, tweak details, and trust that they would do an amazing job. They were very detail-oriented, the servers were extremely kind, and the food was delicious. Extremely highly recommend!
I will start by saying my husband and I had extremely low expectations when it came to caterers. We have experienced underwhelming food at most weddings and figured it was status quo for producing mass quantities. We decided to blindly choose ASOL as they were the preferred caterer at our venue (Planet Bluegrass) and couldn't have been proven more wrong about this 'status quo'. The event specialist, Dawn, was with us every step of the way in planning the wedding and responded to emails even when on vacation. The food the day-of was exceptional (in a buffet no less) and the staff were all super professional - I didn't even know they were there. On the day-of, Dawn was also equally as present and accommodating, making sure we had everything we needed without even having to ask. I can't say enough about this catering company and would encourage anyone to choose them to cater their wedding as they do that (and so much more) seamlessly and with so much positivity. Thank you, Dawn and staff, for making our day so incredible!
Dawn and the staff that worked our event went above and beyond and were very accommodating. They helped make our day so special, and our guests were very complimentary of the food and service we received. The staff even helped load our car with leftovers and gifts at the end of the night! Even though they're a large company working multiple events, we never felt lost in the shuffle. They're very responsive to emails and made planning the wedding from out of state a breeze.
We used A Spice of Life for our 8/26/17 wedding at the Lyons Farmette & I'm so glad we chose them! There are so many food options to chose from & our guests particularly loved how the food items were labeled Gluten Free (GF) or Vegan (V). A Spice of Life helped us chose a menu that was perfect for the venue, as well as seasonal items. They even worked with us to create the perfect summer salad using Palisade peaches that wasn't on the menu. We worked with several different individuals throughout the course of our wedding planning, but each person was very friendly & professional and the end result couldn't have been better! Our guests loved the food & we couldn't have been happier. Delicious!
A Spice of Life was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. We worked with Dawn for our wedding at Planet Bluegrass and everything from the food, to her staff, to her help before the wedding was excellent. I cannot recommend them enough, don't look any further!
We could not have been happier with A Spice of Life! We worked with Desra and she was so easy to communicate with and work with. She kept us in the loop at all times and checked to make sure that what we wanted was the main focus. Not only was the food OUTSTANDING, it was within our price range. They provided decor that complimented our colors and theme.
Jake and Cat are absolutely amazing! The food was amazing! All the guests ranted and raved about the food for days after the wedding. I am so happy that we picked them. I couldn't have asked for a better caterer! Jake was like a mini wedding planner and Cat was absolutely amazing at the wedding.
We loved A Spice of Life! We were so happy to splurge on this because they provided not only the food, but also the tables, chairs, some decorations, chefs, and bartenders. They made the day SO stress free by setting up and tearing down practically EVERYTHING, and their staff were all incredibly kind and courteous. They were also very accommodating, bringing the groom and I food, serving our drinks in special champagne flutes we brought, and supplying us with an ADORABLE little basket of leftovers. Our waffle bar was a hit and we would HIGHLY recommend them for any wedding or event!
We took a lot of time in picking our caterer, as we wanted to make sure we were honoring what we wanted to serve, but also stayed within our budget.
Dawn and the team at Spice really worked for our business. We had an amazing tasting with them, and they really went above and beyond to meet our needs in term of finding a comfortable budget. We were even able to pick four main dishes to serve our guests!
The food on the wedding day turned out wonderful, despite the blip of one of the venue ovens going out.
Food is good, but like far to many in the wedding industry they over promise and under deliver. They charge out the rear, lie to you and then expect you to write them a staller review. The workers seemed nice, but we paid them quite a bit hourly to stand around and not do anything. Jake said he would be at our wedding and tend to us, but he never showed up. The excuse is "its wedding season, we are busy so sorry." Then why should I pay you? Why take us on if you can't?
wonderful! many people commented on that spice of life had the best food they had ever had at a wedding! I agree! wonderful to work with, great food, and many little perks they thought of to make the day even more special- like a picnic basket to take home with us of our leftovers!
A Spice of Life truly catered to what we were looking for in our food. They made the changes suggested at our tasting, and the food was delicious.
Staff had constant communication with us prior to our event which made it easy to know any updates, changes, etc.
I am so happy we went with Spice of Life as our caterer of choice for our July wedding. They were easy to work with in planning the wedding, making sure that all details were covered. The wedding coordinator, Dawn, even came with us to our final walk through in Estes Park, which was a good hour and a half drive from the coorporate office. She amde sure everything was planned perfectly and to our liking. The day of the wedding, we had another coordinator who we got to meet beforehand to maker sure she knew everything she needed to run our wedding day of. She did not disappoint. The best part was that I didn't have to worry about any set up or take down and I barely even noticed that the day of coordinators were there- that's how smoothly they ran everything. They made sure everything worked out perfectly. The wait staff was also very professional and responsive. The food turned out beautiful and delicious. It was worth the extra money to go through Spice of Life for the service, presentation, and farm to table food choices. Thanks so much SOL!
A Spice of Life was able to work with my budget to create a delish spread of food that all of our guests loved!
We just had A Spice of Life cater our wedding at the Butterfly Pavilion and we are so so happy that we listened to the good reviews! Our food was delicious and we've been getting lots of compliments from guests. The fruit/cheese plate in the dressing room was a really nice touch, and they send you home with a picnic basket to snack on later that night. The staff was very professional and helped a ton with decorations, moving chairs, etc. Overall we are very satisfied and would definitely recommend them!
We thought the food was unbelievable from the apps to the dinner and even the s'more bar. Everything was full of flavor and tasted homemade. We loved that after our pictures there was some apps set aside for Colin and I to try...at this point we were starving. The dinner was tasty and it was nice to be served a little but of everything. The decor was spot on and everyone was dressed professionally. The room was cleaned well and the staff was great at keeping things picked up and freshly stocked. Spice of Life was by far the easiest vendor to work with and you all worked very hard to make sure things went off with out a problem. The basket in the room was a nice touch and allowed us to try everything and actually sit and enjoy it. If I had only one thing that went wrong was that we girls never received our cheese/fruit platter and the boys got theirs as they were walking out the door to the ceremony so they never opened it.
I worked mostly with Samantha and Angel was our wedding day catering manager. I can't say enough good things about the and the rest of the staff. First off Samantha was amazing to work with. I emailed her countless times and she was always extremely patient and helpful. I loved her ideas and I really felt like we had a unique menu. We did a brunch with a crepe bar and bacon bar. I loved that it was a little different than normal wedding food. All of the wedding staff was amazing and I heard so many compliments from our guests about their superior service. Angel was great to work with the day off, he really went out of his way to make us feel special on our big day. My only tiny complaint would be the food temperature was a bit cold on some things, but I know it's hard for buffets. I really can't say enough positive things about Spice of Life. Definitely use them! We did look at other caterers but I'm so glad we chose this one!
A Spice Of Life catered my wedding at Lionscrest manor when I got married in March this year. I worked closely with Kathy and she was so nice and answered all of the questions that I had.
When I finally got to do a tasting I knew I had made the right choice. They have amazing food and I knew my quests would be very happy.
On the wedding day, everything was set up beautifully and after the dinner everyone kept talking about how amazing the food was! That made me extremely happy that my guests enjoyed their meals and didn't leave hungry.
The food is incredibly delicious! We had fun picking our menu with the coordinator and were blown away by the staff and the actual food!
So professional and calm! My wedding was one of the many that got displaced by the recent floods. We were planning on having it at a farm in Longmont but with about 48 hours notice needed to find a new venue. Amanda, our amazing coordinator from Spice, was a great resource and gave us a list of about 15 venues to call to see if they had availability. Once we did find a replacement, Amanda was very available and worked directly with the venue to iron out all of the details.
During the event, Amanda helped us keep the night rolling by prompting us to make announcements about dinner and when to do toasts, etc. She and her staff even went through with buffet line for my groom & I and brought the plates to our sweetheart table. They somehow knew exactly what we wanted from the buffet too! The food we chose was BBQ style and so yummy.
The decorations Spice brought for the buffet tables were just perfect too and went so well with our rustic/vintage theme.
I would definitely recommend Spice, not only for their delicious food, but for their amazingly professional service as well.
From the initial tasting appointment to the wedding day, we had a great experience with A Spice of Life! The staff was so kind, friendly and helpful and always prompt in their replies to emails or phone calls. Our coordinator was super organized and I had no doubt the evening would run smoothly. She took care of all the details and supplied us with a timeline for the evening - she just had everything figured out and was so helpful and on top of everything. The food was delicious - as we remembered from our initial tasting. We could not have been happier!!
I loved every second of my wedding at Spice of life event center. They also catered the reception. The food was incredible, the service was great too. They event center staff was patient with our very large bridal party and wedding and made sure everyone was fed, had a drink in hand and were comfortable. The pictures looked awesome, I couldn't have picked a better venue or company to work with.
I really liked the location of this venue. We had our wedding outside on the golf course, and the weather was beautiful. They stop the golf while the ceremony is going on so that was really nice. The few issues I had was that it was extremely difficult to find a hotel in Boulder that was close to the venue that wasn't extremely expensive. We ended up at the Courtyard Marriott which was one of the cheapest yet still nice hotels. However their room rate was still high.
The second issue was that we had a little mix up with the bar tab after the event. We had a set amount that was hosted and for some reason one of the wedding planners "thought" my dad said to add another $500 to the tab during dinner. He had said he would "consider" it if we got closer to the limit. So we got a big old bill after the wedding for an extra $500 that no one knew about. They need to have contract addendum's or something around for people to actual SIGN and confirm they want to add more money to the bar.
Over all though, the look/feel of the location was really nice, and the staff was great to work with except for the bar mishap.
They were able to customize to exactly what we wanted. We absolutely loved their service, and we didn't get one complaint from anyone eating the food.
