ar for absolutely NO attention to details on services we went over together in great detail months, to weeks, to days before wedding. BIG PROBLEM: (1) They never prepared OR served Mimosa's for toast; guests had to go up to bar line and request a glass- I had special ordered 196 champagne glasses, they only used 42. (2) Never offered to help cut the cake, so Bride and Bridesmaids made a mess of it. We ended up being short cupcakes and brought home almost all of the wedding cake. (3) Half hour late in starting the food buffet line because ASOL Event Manager was waiting for ALL the guests to be seated. On ASOL ADVISE for a buffet, we did NOT set up all the number of tables and chairs needed, since guests would go through buffet line at different times. (4) Then to complicate matters, ASOL forgot to bring the 6 tall cocktail tables to accommodate extra places for guests to put appetizers, drinks, and food plates on. (5) All they offered me was a $300 refund for their Consultation and Coordination fee, but only when I suggested it. ASOL bill was over $60 a plate for breakfast/brunch food because every food item price ends up being double by the time you pay all their administration, travel, labor, taxes, and a 20% gratuity fees. I furnished all the guest table linens, decorations, plates, flatware, and drinking cups- so they did not even have to attend to this. All tables were set up and put in place before they arrived at 9AM- we arrived at 8AM. (6) DAY STARTED OFF WITH POOR SERVICE: They did not bring their complimentary 'Fruit and Cheese Tray' 30 min after their 9AM arrival, but instead 20 minutes before ceremony started, so at 10:40. And this was only because I asked where it was, our flower girl and ring bearer were getting fussy and hungry. I think 3 stars is generous.

away. On the day of the wedding, there was a rain storm before the ceremony and all of the chairs were soaked. Even though it was not their job at all, the crew from a spice of life ran out with towels to dry off all of the seats. Jake and the crew let us use any and all decorations they had, not just for the reception, for the ceremony as well. They provided the bridal party with snacks before the ceremony to help calm our tummies and our nerves. The food at the reception was absolutely amazing, I hear comments all of the time for my guests about how delicious it was. Everybody went back for seconds! I would recommend a spice of life for any event!!

e. Todd Eads was very instrumental in helping us with our decision making as well as providing guidance throughout the planning process. He is very thorough, organized, and extremely personable. The staff was very professional in serving our 200 guests promptly and efficiently. I highly recommend Spice of Life for any event, large or small....they are simply the BEST!

SOL as they were the preferred caterer at our venue (Planet Bluegrass) and couldn't have been proven more wrong about this 'status quo'. The event specialist, Dawn, was with us every step of the way in planning the wedding and responded to emails even when on vacation. The food the day-of was exceptional (in a buffet no less) and the staff were all super professional - I didn't even know they were there. On the day-of, Dawn was also equally as present and accommodating, making sure we had everything we needed without even having to ask. I can't say enough about this catering company and would encourage anyone to choose them to cater their wedding as they do that (and so much more) seamlessly and with so much positivity. Thank you, Dawn and staff, for making our day so incredible!

pice of Life helped us chose a menu that was perfect for the venue, as well as seasonal items. They even worked with us to create the perfect summer salad using Palisade peaches that wasn't on the menu. We worked with several different individuals throughout the course of our wedding planning, but each person was very friendly & professional and the end result couldn't have been better! Our guests loved the food & we couldn't have been happier. Delicious!

l walk through in Estes Park, which was a good hour and a half drive from the coorporate office. She amde sure everything was planned perfectly and to our liking. The day of the wedding, we had another coordinator who we got to meet beforehand to maker sure she knew everything she needed to run our wedding day of. She did not disappoint. The best part was that I didn't have to worry about any set up or take down and I barely even noticed that the day of coordinators were there- that's how smoothly they ran everything. They made sure everything worked out perfectly. The wait staff was also very professional and responsive. The food turned out beautiful and delicious. It was worth the extra money to go through Spice of Life for the service, presentation, and farm to table food choices. Thanks so much SOL!

e were starving. The dinner was tasty and it was nice to be served a little but of everything. The decor was spot on and everyone was dressed professionally. The room was cleaned well and the staff was great at keeping things picked up and freshly stocked. Spice of Life was by far the easiest vendor to work with and you all worked very hard to make sure things went off with out a problem. The basket in the room was a nice touch and allowed us to try everything and actually sit and enjoy it. If I had only one thing that went wrong was that we girls never received our cheese/fruit platter and the boys got theirs as they were walking out the door to the ceremony so they never opened it.

I loved that it was a little different than normal wedding food. All of the wedding staff was amazing and I heard so many compliments from our guests about their superior service. Angel was great to work with the day off, he really went out of his way to make us feel special on our big day. My only tiny complaint would be the food temperature was a bit cold on some things, but I know it's hard for buffets. I really can't say enough positive things about Spice of Life. Definitely use them! We did look at other caterers but I'm so glad we chose this one!

On the wedding day, everything was set up beautifully and after the dinner everyone kept talking about how amazing the food was! That made me extremely happy that my guests enjoyed their meals and didn't leave hungry.

Once we did find a replacement, Amanda was very available and worked directly with the venue to iron out all of the details. During the event, Amanda helped us keep the night rolling by prompting us to make announcements about dinner and when to do toasts, etc. She and her staff even went through with buffet line for my groom & I and brought the plates to our sweetheart table. They somehow knew exactly what we wanted from the buffet too! The food we chose was BBQ style and so yummy. The decorations Spice brought for the buffet tables were just perfect too and went so well with our rustic/vintage theme. I would definitely recommend Spice, not only for their delicious food, but for their amazingly professional service as well.

She took care of all the details and supplied us with a timeline for the evening - she just had everything figured out and was so helpful and on top of everything. ifficult to find a hotel in Boulder that was close to the venue that wasn't extremely expensive. We ended up at the Courtyard Marriott which was one of the cheapest yet still nice hotels. However their room rate was still high. The second issue was that we had a little mix up with the bar tab after the event. We had a set amount that was hosted and for some reason one of the wedding planners "thought" my dad said to add another $500 to the tab during dinner. He had said he would "consider" it if we got closer to the limit. So we got a big old bill after the wedding for an extra $500 that no one knew about. They need to have contract addendum's or something around for people to actual SIGN and confirm they want to add more money to the bar. Over all though, the look/feel of the location was really nice, and the staff was great to work with except for the bar mishap.

my questions and was flexible, letting me pick and choose how I wanted things to work, let us stop by several times to try and figure out set up, etc. worked with us on a custom menu and selection. Zach set up the ceremony site and helped us with our final set up decisions and also with the flow of the ceremony and dinner reception. Holly thought of almost everything and managed to keep a dialogue going with me for several months during planning and constructing. It takes a lot more thought and consideration planning a wedding that I would have ever imagined but she helped make it easier. Only cons were: there was a slight delay in response, but this is common I found out-in the wedding industry. There was a slight misunderstanding and one ingredient that was pretty adamantly left out of the menu-due to severe reaction-was accidentally included during the wedding -yikes, but catastrophe was avoided as I caught it in time and removed it from the plate. We had such a good time, we forgot to make ourselves a doggy bag to take with us and the food was SO good but we didnt have a good chance to eat, so I was bummed about that. The tastings we went to were amazing-we loved everything and had a very difficult time choosing only a couple of appetizers and only one dish for dinner! But that's a good problem to have. We loved the Spice of Life and felt very lucky to have had our wedding here outdoors with the flatirons in the backdrop and a wonderful space with plenty of room for our guests and a built-in dancefloor (as well as a back up rain plan) and free parking-all in such a beautiful space. Definitely recommend them.

however, they performed so well on the wedding day that I am willing to overlook the planning issues. All the staff was very professional and service appeared to be very efficient. They are also zero waste which did weigh heavily in our choosing them as our caterer.

However, I was not informed of this practice until two days prior. The food was delicious and I got a lot of compliments that it didn't taste like "wedding food." Some people even went back for seconds! They set up the buffet in a way that matched with the rest of my wedding decor.

menu for our afternoon wedding. It was excellent. My husband and I were impressed at our tasting at how good the food actually was. Being that we had both lived in Oklahoma, we were used to great BBQ and that's hard to find in Colorado. A Spice of Life did not disappoint. Another thing we loved is that we were able to make alterations to the menu that better suited us without a single fuss from the caterer. We opted for salad instead of coleslaw and requested additional mocha bars for dessert since my husband is a coffee addict. We had no issues at all with the changes. Being that Boulder is very alternative diet friendly, they had a specific vegetarian menu which we were easily able to give to our vegetarian guests. The menu was more than 1 simple pasta dish and actually had thought and flavor! Additionally, they have specific kid friendly meals that were plated and delivered to the kids at the start of service so parents didn't have to worry about what they could eat from the buffet. Our guests loved the food - we got so many compliments. It was a perfect lunch menu for our event. We used the cash bar service and they had a wide range of beers available. Since our wedding was in the afternoon, this was our best option to keep cost down since many people aren't looking for too much to drink at 2pm. A Spice of Live even boxed up several boxes of food for my husband and I to enjoy that night and when we got home!

years ago. I remember I had some delicious blonde brownie or something that was so tasty, I made a point to remember the caterer's name. So...14 years later, when I needed a caterer for my wedding, I called them up. At our tasting Katie, the event coordinator that regularly handles events Koenig, was present, attentive and informative about our options with A Spice of Life, and the other vendors she recommended and had worked with. We immediately felt comfortable with her and we were so glad she was going to be able to be part of our event. Leading up to the wedding, she promptly responded to my dozens of emails which kept me calm and enabled us to make quick progress through our short wedding planning timeline. At our onsite walk through, we appreciated her thoroughness and her frank opinions that helped us make decisions that would have otherwise taken much longer. Leading up to the wedding, I thought I would need an onsite coordinator the day of, but I'm so glad that I didn't hire one. At our wedding, Katie handled our nearly every need and staff was never in our way. Her above and beyond service, made the day go smoothly and everything was taken care of so we could enjoy our wedding. She saved me thousands of dollars by being able to handle my needs and timeline (that would otherwise need to be handled by a wedding coordinator) while also making sure the catering was elegantly taken care of. Ok, so I haven't even mentioned the food at our wedding yet. It was fantastic. We had a chicken and steak option, the asiago mashed potatoes, mixed vegetables and salad. You should know, they do this great thing with the salad where they layer it, so everyone gets the delicious things that are usually only on the top. AND they serve roasted garlic with the bread which is mmmmm....yummy. We're so thrilled to have had the opportunity to work with Katie and A Spice of Life. We look forward to working with her and A Spice of Life again in the near future.

were directed to work with Kathryn Matta and let me know you she is FABULOUS! Majority of our contact was via email and she was thorough and detailed in answer all millions of my questions. We decided to do something a little different for our wedding as far as food was concerned. We wanted everyone to mix and mingle and enjoy a variety of selections. One of our favorite restaurants offers a tapais menu and so we started customizing our own with Kathryn's help. We had several different stations and passed food that made it so unique and fun!! They went above and beyond satisfying our picky taste buds. Whether it was adding a little more parmesan or tweaking a recipe they were ON IT! They went has far as to even visit one of our favorite places and created their own rendition of our favorite appetizer! I MEAN YOU CAN'T GET ANY MORE PERSONAL SERVICE THAN THAT! We would hands down use this catering company again and again. Our guests loved the food and the playfulness our menu offered. They couldn't stop raving about the panco crusted mac n cheese balls! :) Their staff was attentive and interacted with our guests very well! I have zero complaints! We are so happy with everything! You won't be disappointed! They set everything up and added to our theme of lemons and limes by arranging decorations around the food tables. They even set us home with a little picnic basket so we could enjoy some late snacks back at the hotel! They helped us in deciding how much of everything to rent and answered many questions we had about wedding planning! They are there for you! They made us feel like we were their only clients! (when I knew we weren't)! We love SPICE OF LIFE CATERING! THANK YOU!

The only bad thing I would say is that they weren't totally upfront about the full cost of service, and the tipping amount they suggested, I felt was a bit high. However, they really tried to work with our budget and gave us a discount to offset the service cost when it was higher at the end, which I thought was great customer service.

delicious. We planned our wedding from out of state so most communication with Spice of Life was done via phone and email. They were very good about communicating quickly and were responsive to all our questions. We did have some concerns about the service we received. After speaking with several caterers that we liked, we ended up choosing Spice of Life because of a particular item on their menu that we really wanted served at our wedding. We felt it was unique and superior to entrees offered by other caterers. We finalized our menu and our contract was signed based on that menu. However we were notified several weeks later that Spice of Life would be changing to seasonal menus. None of the options we selected (main dish, salad, etc.) were available in their new seasonal menu, and we were told they would be unable to provide the menu we had initially decided upon. This was aggravating since the selection of this caterer was based on this menu. Furthermore, we were unable to attend a tasting as they have set dates and do not do individual tastings for each client. I sent my mother who reported (correctly) that the new menu items were very tasty, but I was nervous, not having been able to taste them myself. I visited Colorado three times after signing them as my caterer and felt they should have been able to schedule a tasting while I was in town. At one point, when I was in town for a weekend visit, I asked if I could simply have a "to go" box containing items from a wedding they were already catering. I explained that I really didn't care what was in the box, I just wanted a sample of their food. I did not think this was an unreasonable request, as it simply involved boxing up a small amount of food they were already going to make anyway. I even offered to pick up the food from their location at their convenience. They did not even respond to this request until after I had returned home, and then told me that it simply wasn't possible. Given these problems with service, I was very concerned about what would happen on my wedding night, but my fears were unwarranted because the food was so wonderful. I wish the catering staff had attended to us (bride and groom) a little better. They brought us one drink at the beginning of the reception, and of course served us dinner, but after that my husband had to go to the bar himself, and I ended up not drinking or eating anything else, because I simply didn't have time to take care of that myself.

e are still getting compliments from our guests. As a vegetarian, I was anxious to find a good veggie option and my husband needed the good carnivore option. Neither of us were disappointed! I highly, highly recommended Spice and am so thankful for their day-of assistance!

When it came closer to my date, Holly was hard to get ahold of and was not as helpful as I thought she would be. The entire staff worked hard to make the day wonderful so I would still reccomend them.

. With all the planning, I didn't think too much about that, but there's a world of vegetables outside of rosemary potatoes (tasty as they are). The caterers that worked my wedding were really great, very helpful at the site, and the wedding moved beautifully. The bartender did end up opening (and wasting) four bottles of wine. (I expected partial bottles...not full bottles of the same wine with nothing at all poured from them.) Mostly, it was a good experience.

As stressful as it was, Kathy did a great job of reassuring us that everything would flow smoothly. And it did :) We were so happy that we decided to go with A Spice of Life. They really thought of every little thing, which was a HUGE weight off of my mind! It was so wonderful to be so well taken care of. Also, the food. YUM! It was incredible-- we are still getting comments about it. ANd it was SO affordable! The ballroom was done up so beautifully, it really added a fantastic feel to the whole wedding. I definitely recommend this venue to ANY bride and groom!

It was so smooth and professional I highly recommend this caterer. They helped me organize the rehearsal and it felt like they were my wedding coordinator, yet I did all of the planning with doit-yourself projects. ASOL even set up all of my DIY projects without any grumble or extra cost. It was very nice to have a professional team who worked with me and got every detail even better than I imagined. They even gave us a picnic basket with left overs for my husband and I to enjoy later that night.

tic - with many children running around the complex, so we are very thankful that they were able to take such great care of our guests, the food and drinks, and us throughout the night. Our guests raved about the food to us for days after and we were entirely pleased with all the food. A member of their staff was even so nice as to bring a tray of appetizers up onto the rocks while we were still taking photos! Again, we are so grateful for their staff, services and food. They truly made our day feel very special.
