Where to begin? It’s hard to include the countless things that Marcie did for us over a year and a half of planning for our daughter’s wedding. Hiring Marcie was the BEST decision that we made in the wedding planning process because she was like the ultimate conductor leading the day and all of our incredible vendors in the most beautiful symphony ever! Marcie guided us every single step of the way and helped us plan the most magical day that we will never forget. There are not enough words or room here to describe Marcie, but here are a few: smart, organized, trustworthy, kind, funny, caring, leader, professional, patient, generous, wise, loving and talented. Marcie took our ideas and made them into a reality, but even better than we could have dreamed. She’s also a magnificent problem solver which is an important quality in a wedding planner. Marcie is also part magician and part fairy godmother because she worked behind the scenes to make our daughter’s dream wedding feel like an actual fairytale. She is very detailed and thinks of everything somehow. Having Marcie’s expertise during the wedding planning gave me so much peace and calmed my nerves ( which is not easy because I’m typically very stressed ;) Someone may not feel that hiring the best coordinator in town is a necessity, but trust me it is. Having peace of mind and being able to enjoy my daughter’s wedding day was honestly priceless. You know you’ve got an amazing wedding coordinator when the groom says that all of the groomsmen and the officiant are crazy about her:) We will never be able to thank Marcie enough. She is part of our family now and we love her dearly! ❤️

While planning our daughter's wedding we quickly realized that there was no way we could pull this off on our own. Hiring Marcie was the best decision we made. All the stress was taken away and we were able to enjoy the entire weekend with family and friends. My husband, daughter and I felt very at ease with Marcie. Communicating with her was great. She responds quickly to texts and emails and no question is too small or silly. Marcie has great relationships with so many vendors, and she was able to guide us to professionals handle details we hadn't thought of, didn't know we needed or couldn't figure out how to do ourselves (uplighting, chargers, a gorgeous seating chart, an amazing post wedding brunch for family). She was also respectful of our budget and saved us money by negotiating with vendors. We literally did not have to worry about or deal with anything on the actual wedding weekend. Marcie worked all weekend with a smile on her face and made it all seem effortless. She is a true professional who has become a friend and we highly recommend her.

There are no words to describe how incredibly professional, precise, prepared, and human Marcie is. But I'll try: After getting engaged, I thought surely we didn't need a wedding planner. Well, the joke's on me. Marcie became one of our best friends and confidants over the nearly 2 1/2 years it took for us to plan a "post" Covid wedding. She stood by us every step of the way. Since my husband and I were working full-time and living far from our venue, Marcie was a saving grace with the breadth of her relationships in the industry and 30+ years of experience. She saved us precious time and gave us peace of mind with every recommendation she made and knew exactly how to troubleshoot any issue we were having. On our long-awaited wedding day, there came a torrential downpour the hour before the ceremony. I can't explain the peace I felt knowing that Marcie was in charge, and that everything would be beautiful no matter what. Meanwhile, Marcie was outside, trudging through the mud keeping everything under control. The best choice you'll make in planning your wedding -- just book her!!!

Marcy is a wedding angel! I don't know what I would have done without her. She brought my dream wedding to life in the middle of a pandemic and helped us enjoy the entire process. Holy Cow. Marcie is a blessing. My husband and I decided that COVID could NOT stop our love. And the unknown of how long it would last, actually expedited our wedding date. We could not wait to get married and this amazing woman helped us pull off our dream wedding in half the time one would usually need. Where do I even begin! I knew I needed a wedding planner- I was getting married in Kentucky while living in New York and knew I didn’t have the time to do everything myself. Cue Marcie Hancock who came in from the very beginning and made my wedding planning experience fun and easy! She took care of every detail and recommended an amazing team of vendors that made my day beyond perfect. It was actually insane how easy it was to plan my wedding. Everyone kept remarking how I was a very zen and relaxed bride- I give all the credit to Marcie and her team. I worried about nothing because I knew they would get it done and get it done right, I just had to say the words and Marcie would take care of everything. Also- I researched tons of vendors in the area before going with Marcie. I couldn’t believe how reasonable her prices were compared to everyone else. I was recently married in Feb 2020 just a few short months after becoming engaged in Nov of 2019. I contacted A Thorough Fare in hopes to find a full service wedding planner and that I did. Marcie had a wonderful way of helping to guide the planning process while still allowing me to make every decision. She took all the guess work out of vendors- if you want the best florist - guess what- she knows them! It was that way with every vendor. I searched for nothing. Marcie made every vendor appt and personally attended each meeting. My mother was very ill during the planning and I can tell you Marcie’s presence made all the difference! She single handily made a difficult situation not only endurable but pleasureable. The wedding was spectacular! Nothing was cookie cutter- everything was personal to us. She understood we wanted a very elegant event but also wanted guests to relax and enjoy all the reception had to offer! Guests are still talking about how much they had. Our thanks to her will never speak loud enough to express what our hearts feel. Five stars is not enough!

I am so thankful that we had Marcie helping us on our big day and throughout the year as we planned our large wedding! She made the whole process not only stress free, but also fun! I couldn’t have done it without Marcie. I have a demanding career and at first thought I could do it all. I soon learned that was not possible. Marcie has connections with the best vendors. Our band was unbelievable , florist, photographer, reception venue, etc. My fiancé and I were treated like gold. Every vendor meeting, food tasting, dress fitting, etc. were perfectly planned. I couldn’t find the perfect dress until Marcie set me up with a boutique who worked me in late, and fitted me into the dress of my dreams. I’m a type A person who stresses out over perfection. I was not even the least bit stressed on my wedding day. Marcie truly handled everything! Even the tuxedo rentals! My wedding day in July, 2019 was the most amazing and memorable experience of my life. I’m 58 so that’s tough to accomplish. I wish I could live that day all over again!!!! Thank you Marcie!

Marcie was the absolute best wedding coordinator we could have hoped for. From the first meeting, it was clear that she was incredibly experienced and seasoned - she knew everyone in the wedding business in the area and had planned so many different types of weddings with different themes, sizes, seasons etc , that she was prepared for everything. She worked so hard and was in constant communication with us. She made everything easier - any thing I could think of, I would just text her, and she would get it done. She was incredibly organized and thorough. We had a relatively large wedding in downtown Louisville, and she pulled it off without a hitch. If there was a hitch, I did not know! The only potential issue I was witness to was that about 60 sec before the ceremony, we realized one of the bridesmaids had forgotten her flowers. By the time I learned of the problem, Marcie had already sent an assistant to locate the flowers, and we were back on schedule within seconds. I highly recommend her for any type of wedding you are planning. She is truly the best.

Marcie is extremely knowledgeable about protocols, local vendors and suppliers, the "right" way to handle any situation and years of experience to back all of that up. She worked behind the scenes during the planning and especially on the "day of", arranging and ensuring all details, reservations, products, services, rentals, etc., were in place and correct for our daughter's big day. We didn't have to raise a finger on the wedding day and were able to totally enjoy the event, knowing that every detail had been addressed and any problems would be immediately solved. She is personable, easy to talk to, puts everyone around her at ease, and ALWAYS focuses on the bride and groom, what THEY want, and how to make their vision a reality. When we first got engaged, my fiance and I thought "we've got this", doing everything ourselves. We had started to locate DJ's and tents through friends, the internet, and word of mouth. After a few of our failed attempts, we met with Marcie, A Thorough Fare's director, and immediately knew we needed her! We had a wonderful experience with Marcie and her team. They were very organized and helped the process of wedding planning run very smoothly. I have to say Robert Burge the photographer was equally as outstanding! Heather Cent the hair DESIGNER was remarkable. She and Laura at Hotlocks did a beautiful job on a large number while staying calm as did Beauty by Bethany and we had fun with each of them. Shout out to Kay Roundtree the video person, she was superb. The Brown Hotel was AMAZING from beginning to end as was Julie Diamond who designed our invitations and more. Then there is the artist Wayne Esterle who created the incredible floral arrangements - I was amazed. We had fun during the whole process and thank each of you so very much! IF I have left anyone out, it is not intentional because everyone who played a role did an excellent job.

Marcie could not have been a more perfect wedding planner for us. My wife and are both busy residents working 80 hours a week and were trying to plan a wedding in Louisville from out of town. We used one of our weeks of vacation to come into town and do all of the planning sessions with Marcie, and it ran so smooth. She set everything up and had everything ready to go. Marcie also took care of all of the small details in a wedding that we didn't know needed to be done. She also has deals with many of the local vendors that help to mitigate the price of having a planner. The day itself went off without a hitch. We were both nervous about the wedding, but we didn't have any reason to be. Everything was wonderful and the day and night went as well as we could have hoped. Marcie brings a wealth of experience and is so nice to work with. Our wedding was a little unconventional, definitely not a typical Southern wedding, but she was very accommodating and made everything fit how we wanted it. I could not recommend Marcie highly enough to anyone looking for a wedding planned. Easily worth the price.

My fiance and I hired Marcie Hancock as a "month of" wedding coordinator, meaning she was only supposed to help us in the month leading up to our big day. But boy did she blow that out of the water! We had such a wonderful experience working with Marcie. I was busy with dental school and my husband was finishing med school in a different state during our engagement, so we knew we needed someone to help with our planning. My wife and I were married in September 2015. A Thorough Fare (ATF) helped magnificently with all aspects of the affair. The marriage was in the Sacred Circle located in the community garden. This circle was built some years ago as an addition to the neighborhood garden; it is based on Native American spirituality. We then went to Peterson-Dumensil House (historic) in an adjacent neighborhood for dinner and dancing. We were blessed with the moment to moment, day to day assistance of guidance of ATF. Add to that, the price was absolutely "right." Marcie Hancock was a steadying force all along the way. Since we were given so much help in so many ways, I will list them for clarity. She guided us to a perfect person for invitations - personable, knowledgeable, kind, and prompt. She brought to us a perfect DJ - low-key, accommodating, easy to talk with, dependable, creative, well-prepared. She assisted with purchases - cake, beverages. She helped us find a perfect florist - within budget, cooperative, friendly, beautiful arrangements, and great suggestions. We chose the venue and that venue required the services of a certain caterer. Marcie worked with us beautifully and faithfully to make a great event happen via the venue and the caterer. Her support and communication with everyone were without delay and were more than we probably know behind the scenes. The venue was beautiful and the food outstanding. We continue to hear compliments on the food! Over all, this company and Marcie in particular rate more than 5 stars. We value communication greatly, and Marcie responded to our emails very promptly. She answered questions presented in any way easily, with skill and respectful attention to our desires and concerns. On "The Day," Marcie was a calming force working her magic practically without being seen. Having said that, she was somehow always available when needed. She directed everything with a delicate touch and great attention to detail. Everything went smoothly and that left us to enjoy a very meaningful and joyous event in our lives. Finally, we feel like we have made a friend - one who knows, respects, celebrates, and appreciates us.

Our dream wedding came to life with Marcie and her team!! My husband and I married June of this year and it couldn't have been more perfect! So many of our friends have married and their biggest complaint was the planning process. We were truly able to enjoy being engaged as we didn't have an ounce of stress!!! Marcie was our wedding planner for our Memorial Day weekend wedding. She was obviously experienced and had good relationships with many vendors who gave good discounts but she was also open to using different vendors if we had them in mind. She found all the decor we wanted even though some of it wasn't so common. We got married on a farm in the barn and had our reception in a tent in the field so she was very helpful in figuring out the many logistics that are necessary for that...things I never would have thought of.

Marcie is a dream! She made our wedding planning almost effortless. Planning with her felt more like planning it with a friend. My husband and I don't know what we would have done without her. There are not many guarantees in today’s world, but I can guarantee if Marcie Hancock has anything to do with helping you plan your special day, you will not be disappointed. In fact, this experience exceeded all of our expectations. Our daughter (one and only) married on 6-13-2015 and we wanted her to have the fairytale wedding of her dreams (within budget if possible). As the MOB, it was equally important to me to have the planning process be stress free and enjoyable. Once our daughter was engaged, we were very excited but I immediately became concerned about how I could pull this off being an hour away and with a very time consuming job (school superintendent). One example of her “over the top” service… my husband wanted to hand out cigars at the reception. We asked Marcie if she could get us 50 cigars. On the day of the wedding, she had arranged to have 50 bourbon rolled cigars (with her discount) at the reception. However, the best part is she had a special wooded cigar box made for the cigars as a wedding keepsake. The wooden box had the wedding date and the #hashtag name the bride and groom used on their save the dates and website. That is what I call “the WOW factor”. When I measure effectiveness, I refer back to the original goal. We were able to provide our daughter the fairytale wedding of her dreams, capitalize on the discounts of the top vendors through our wedding coordinator and best of all…we literally were able to arrive and leave with our guests (no stress and no worries).
