AAYS Event Rentals is a family-owned-and-operated wedding and event rental company based in Mishawaka, IN. For over five decades, this company has been providing parties with an extensive range of rentals to enhance events. The team takes great pride in their ‘can-do’ attitude and delivering exceptional customer service to every client. The story of AAYS Event Rentals began in 1950 with one of only four Hertz rental trucks in the United States. In 1966, Jim Sharpe purchased this company and started the only general rental store within a 75-mile radius. The company mainly rented tools, but Jim and his wife Terri began adding tables and chairs, dishes, and electronics for rent. In 1980, the company was split into two divisions; one for tool rentals, and one for event rentals. Jim and Terri’s three sons also joined the family business. In 2017 the company dissolved the tool rental section of the business to focus solely on their event rentals. It now houses one of Michiana’s largest and most extensive rental inventories and is still run by the Sharpe family. Aays was great to work with! They were more than willing to pull vases and mirrors out of storage so that I could look at them and we're more than willing to offer suggestions on what would work best.

I had an pretty pleasant experience working with the Stevensville location of Aay's for my wedding. The company was very attentive when we first signed them on (in the month of January), but became less attentive during wedding season (maybe u...

nderstandably, but as the bride I was trying to have all of the event details worked out before the week of our wedding, so I could relax and leave time open to fight unpredictable fires before the big day, so I found this a little frustrating). The company also was good about modeling a layout of the event space for us in the beginning, but less able to update it in the final months (again, during wedding season). As an architect, I ended up just taking the floor plan and laying out the furniture rentals myself so they could reflect exactly what I had envisioned, but other people may not have been able to do so, and this is probably something that was included in their fee. Also, the invoices could be a little ambiguous (I didn't competely understand where all of the line items were coming from). But at the end of the day, everything that we ordered was delivered to the site around the time they said it'd be delivered, and the team did a good job of setting up. Some of the white chairs were a dirty, but maybe this is typical for rental companies that cater to outdoor events as well. The table clothes had strong creases in them when we laid them out, but again, maybe that is what rented table clothes are like and the creases became less noticeable once the table was set with other objects.

The lady I worked with was very pleasant, and they always met my every need! They delivered everything on time and made sure it was all counted before they left. They didn't care how many times I called and knew me by name.
