DO NOT HIRE AMANDA BANKS. Amanda seemed great at first. After depositing $1000 with her, she became totally unresponsive. We tried to reach out to her multiple times through various means of communication, but she never got back to us. Eventually we requested our money back, but we still received no response. Amanda didn’t carry out a single term of our contract and stole our $1000 deposit. This was devastating to us as not only did she leave us scrambling to find someone else to coordinate right before the wedding, we were unable to get our money back to pay our other vendors. Amanda Banks is a heartless scammer. Do not hire her.
Guys, please be considerate. She got caught cheating with multiple people (myself included haha) and just went through a divorce! She needed all of your wedding money to skip town and start a new life but not with me :(
She may have stolen your money, but she stole my heart.
Amanda seemed like she would be great during our initial consult for wedding planning / day of coordination. After sending her over $1000 in a deposit, she went completely radio silent for months. She would not respond to calls, emails, texts, etc. When we did finally get in touch, she was consistently late or would not show up to calls. She then provided a series of increasingly absurd excuses, before abruptly cutting off all contact once more. Not even her assistant can get ahold of her.
We are now left to find a new wedding coordinator with just a month before our wedding. I have never worked with a more incompetent, unprofessional person in my life. Do not hire her - and if you already did, start looking to replace her. She has been the number one source of stress planning our wedding. We can’t get her to respond, so we will likely never get our money back. It’s clear she is doing this to all of her current clients, not just us. She even mentioned to us another client had an attorney contact her because she would not respond. It’s clear something has happened for her to completely stop running her business.

Even after having her served for small claims court, she has still not reached out to me and many of her other brides. I highly recommend taking legal action if you are dealing with this as this is NOT ok.
After her personalizing a package for me and quoting me, I paid her nearly TWO THOUSAND DOLLARS, and since our very first in-person meeting 2 months later, she cancelled/didn't show up for every facetime/meeting/phone call. She "had so much info" for me yet couldn't simply email it over.
After my fiance having a discussion with her about her POOR effort, she offered me 50% of my money back because she "made a quote for me" (yes I have her saying that on video...didn't know I was getting an invoice from every vendor quoting me🤦) OR to start fresh.... my mistake I tried to start fresh.
After speaking to a couple of vendors that she was "reaching out to", I learned she has not been doing that and I called her out for it. She then ghosted me at the end of April 2021....AS we were planning my engagement party food menu for guests coming from 300 miles away. I was not a happy camper but I pulled off the best party without her and her nonsense.
Please be aware and BRIDES, PLEASE MAKE SURE TO GET MULTIPLE REFERNCES FOR ALL YOUR VENDORS!
My fiancée and I are also struggling to get in touch with Amanda. The last time we spoke was over 2 months ago and we have been tirelessly emailing, calling and Instagram messaging her. We have no idea what happened, she was recommended by multiple vendors. We have had to contact venues she works for to see if they know what's wrong and they too have not heard from her. Completely unprofessional and has left us scrambling to find another coordinator for our wedding that is less than 2 months away.
We hired Amanda for our wedding planner and what a mistake she has been on top of absolutely nothing! I’m shocked this is her first negative review. She supposedly had info for us when we first hired her and needed down payment first which is understandable and than once she got her money we got some details a week later that she had supposedly already had! She didn’t get us contracts from any of our vendors we had to reach out ourselves! We will send her a text and get no response for weeks! When she does respond she will give us a time expectation to receive materials and not once has she delivered on that! She is the worst representation of a business owner and I’d stay far away what a waste of money!
Amanda is a professional through and through. As a salon owner I get the pleasure of working with her not only on her beautifully planned weddings, but also on original and creative styled shoots. No detail is too small for Amanda and she will leave you completely in awe and at ease on your wedding day. I cannot sing her praises high enough or imagine a more capable set of hands to leave your wedding day in.
As a venue owner we have great respect for Amanda as a wedding planner! She cares deeply about the couples she works with. She is enthusiastic, creative and sincere. You can not go wrong picking AB Events to walk with you through your wedding experience.
Amanda was the coordinator for our August 2019 wedding and she was incredible. Her professionalism, attention to detail and organizational skill mixed with her naturally warm and outgoing personality was the perfect mix to make our wedding truly memorable. From meetings and planning prior to the wedding until the end of the night, Amanda’s calm guidance made everything fall into place. She always seemed to be in the right place to assist with whatever was going on. She is truly a natural in this business, displaying a seemingly effortless style coupled with extensive knowledge and experience. Her established and excellent working relationships with the venue management, caterer and DJ ensured a seamless and beautiful event. Several of our family and friends who attended have commented on Amanda’s outstanding job and her great personality. As soon as you spend a little time with her you will know that Amanda is the person you want for your big day!
Amanda was the event planner for our weeding in June 2018. She was a joy to work with and consistently kept me (and more importantly my wife) calm and feeling confident everything was going to be just the way we wanted it. Between her collaboration with the other coordinators (at the venue, the caterers, the flower shop, parents ect), her attention to detail, and her calming and reassuring attitude, Amanda provided a first rate service that kept everything on track and ended with a truly special evening. I would highly recommended Amanda for any type of event planning, weather it’s a workplace function, a surprise birthday party, or your special wedding day.
We worked with Amanda for our wedding and I can't say enough good things about her! She helped with reaching out to vendors, choosing colors, and day of coordination. Amanda is organized, on top of things, offers great advice, and most importantly keeps track of all of the tiny details to make everything perfect. She made the whole process feel a lot less stressful! She was wonderful to work with!
To say that Amanda is the best at what she does is an under statement. Of all of the weddings I have done (close to 200 at this point), the weddings where Amanda is involved have been the lease stressful and most organized. I know that she has everything under control and has accounted for anything she thinks could go wrong. From the attention to detail to her time management, Amanda does everything flawlessly. If I was getting married and planning a wedding, especially during this crazy time, she is the first person I would call. We are currently working together for my sister's wedding in October and I know my sister is in the best hands. I can't say enough good things about Amanda and how she is the very best person when it comes to helping with your wedding. 10/10 for sure! Call her, you won't regret it!
Amanda was our day-of wedding coordinator for our outdoor DIY 'garden-party' wedding last summer. We had multiple vendors and caterers to coordinate, as well as the many logistical hurdles that come with throwing a backyard wedding. Amanda handled them all with grace, poise, and a smile. She took over vendor communications early so we could relax, and made sure our entire wedding day went smoothly. To say it was a perfect day is putting it lightly. Amanda made it happen!!
I have worked with Amanda at AB Events several times. She goes above and beyond every time. Her attention to detail and professionalism, amazing personality and not to mention incredibly organization makes her indispensable when it comes to your events. She will make you smile till your cheeks hurt and will be in your corner no matter what.
