ABC Catering - “A Better Choice”

We were considering ABC catering and one other local caterer but after meeting with both, it was clear that ABC was truly ‘a better choice’. We had our wedding at a very non-traditional venue so EVERYTHING was a project. ABC made the food portion a breeze by bringing everything we needed from napkins, plates, silverware, actual food, servers, water glasses, salt and pepper shakers, etc. Everyone I interacted with was very friendly and professional from our first contact all the way through dinner service. They did a wonderful job!

ABC Catering was able to make our dreams of an authentic Mexican taco bar come true for our May 19th 2018 wedding! The staff were very responsive and flexible and prices are reasonable. We stressed that we would need lots of Captain Morgan at our bar and they still ran out, they also briefly ran out of some of the toppings at the taco bar. These were very minor details and overall I would recommend their services to anyone for any occasion!

Choosing ABC for our wedding catering was probably the best, most stress-free decision we made for our entire wedding. We chose food options, and made tons of changes in the months before the wedding, and ABC managed to accommodate all of them. The food was SUPER delicious, but the thing that stood out the most was the staff's impeccable service. We had a buffet, but they were still right there ready to help anyone that may need assistance putting food on their plates. The bartenders were fast, and the drinks were good. And on top of it all...the pricing for all of it was the best in the Rockford area! Highly recommend.

Absolutely terrible service. When we originally met with them we received pricing for food and bar, after the food tasting we decided to go a different direction, but decided the bar option was the best for us so we put a deposit down. Two months before the wedding they tell us that they can't separate the food from the bar package and we now owe them for services we never settled on. They are also refusing to give us back our deposit on the bar even though they won't be able to provide the service to us. Absolutely terrible customer service. DO NOT PUT DOWN A DEPOSIT UNLESS YOU KNOW EXACTLY WHAT YOU ARE GETTING.

ABC Catering catered at my wedding on October 18, 2014. They were very professional throughout the whole process. The office girls were very helpful with answering all questions and giving ideas where needed. The day of the wedding, the catering staff were dressed professional and very friendly. They were on time and were discreet with clean up. We had a simple buffet with sandwiches and salad and everything was delicious. I highly recommend ABC Catering for your special occasion.

My husband and I hired ABC Catering to cater our wedding with our modest budget. I consider myself to be a little bit of a foodie, so I was disappointed that we were unable to hire a company perceived to cater finer foods; but on our wedding day, ABC Catering delivered nothing short of filling, delicious and impressive. Our wedding reception took place in a historic barn at Midway Village Museum, where ABC Catering has served many, many weddings. Our food selections were inspired by the rural country setting and simpler times: BBQ pulled pork sandwiches and vegetable pot pies, fried mac & cheese bites, fresh fruits and cheeses, fried chicken tenders, roasted red potatoes, steamed asparagus and more. Our guests had wonderful things to say about the food, and what few bites my husband and I managed to have were memorably delicious. ABC Catering also provided us with all of our linens and assisted our coordinator with the reception set-up, which was absolutely stunning. Product quality aside, ABC Catering was very responsive and accommodating throughout the entire planning process. They certainly know what they're doing, and I'm sorry I ever batted an eye at them. Thank you, ABC Catering!

ABC was my fathers first choice in choosing a caterer for our wedding. And let me say he has great taste when picking a caterer. ABC fulfilled all of our requests and made the meal go extremely smooth as well as the bartenders kept all of our guest happy all night!!!! If you need a GREAT caterer I would choose ABC!!!

The food was absolutely fantastic - just like the taste testing! I received many compliments from my guests about how delicious the food was, and some even said that it was the "best wedding reception food" they have ever had. They're also extremely affordable, and I loved working with Erin. She was so friendly and knowledgeable. I'm currently planning my sister's wedding, and there's absolutely no hesitation where her food will be catered from!

The food was delicious! A month after the wedding I'm still getting complimented on how delicious the food was! And every one from ABC that I interacted with was very nice and very helpful and did every thing they could to get us what we wanted! I would highly recommend using them. You won't be dissapointed!

My husband and I enjoyed the food we picked out and we felt the service we received was wonderful from beginning to end. For the price of the food we were beyond satisfied.

When we first started dealing with Erin she seemed very nice and willing to help us find the perfect combination of foods and beverages to meet our budget and needs. However, after suffering sticker shock from the first quote we got, which was more than 25% higher than what we said our budget was, we looked around at some different options. Unfortunately, we only had 5 caterers to choose from for our venue, so we ended up deciding to go back to ABC and try to get it down to where we needed to be. At that point I was mostly dealing with Erin by e-mail and I find that it is difficult to assess someone's attitude when you can't see or hear them. So even though I felt that I was getting a bit of a snotty attitude from her, I was trying to give her the benefit of the doubt. We ended up changing to a cash bar and just food to try to fit our budget. About 2 weeks before the wedding, my 2 aunts and uncle decided to give us an amazing early wedding gift and pay for the open bar at our reception! You would think that she would have been happy to have the additional amount added on to our bill, or at least be happy for us! But what my Aunt told me is that when she called to give Erin their credit card numbers she was incredibly rude to her and just kept saying all she could do was take their money that "we have a signed contract" (which we did not. I had paid a deposit, but never signed anything!) and couldn't discuss anything else with her. My aunt was quite upset, understandably. I was shocked when I heard this to the point that if it hadn't occurred one week before our wedding, I would have looked elsewhere for a new caterer. Then there was the fact that their liquor, wine and beer selections are less than exciting. I ended up buying several cases of higher end beers and chaampagne and a bottle of Grey Goose vodka and a bottle of Bacardi rum (for the aunts and uncle that paid for the open bar!) The beer and champagne made it to the reception, which I saw before the ceremony, so I assumed that it was all there. It wasn't until two hours into the reception that I realized that the vodka and rum were not there. I pulled aside the bartender and asked where it was to which they responded they knew nothing about it. It took another hour and a half for them to locate my bottles which had been sent to another event despite having our names and date written on them in magic marker. At that point the Aunt and Uncle were ready to leave and we had only about an hour left in the reception. Then there was the bartender's attitude. At some point I heard some of my guests saying that if they wanted their drinks to be better that they should tip him $20. Then one of my guests who had been tipping him all night went to get a drink and pulled out his wallet only to realize that he only had a large bill left so he put his wallet away. This bartender actually said to him "yeah man, sometimes I pull out my wallet and pretend like I'm going to leave a tip, too." How incredibly rude! And the bartender kept trying to pull me away from my guests to tell me that it wasn't his fault that our liquor got lost. I did not need to be wasting my time talking to him about it, he just needed to make sure to fix it. I never heard anything from ABC catering after the wedding to see how things went until I got a request to review them on this site. Like I said, I heard the food was very good.

Round of applause for ABC Catering! They were great. We were not the best crowd to work for, or organized, and they still were right there with the best service! The food was great. Still hot even served buffet style, they packaged up the left overs and sent them home with us! Erin was very quick at answering any questions I had and great professionalism. Would highly recommend them!

I used ABC Catering for my wedding in August. They were amazing and attentive to all of my guests. I had their beef tenderloin as a carving station and it was absolutely fantastic! Would recommend them to anyone who asked!! :-)

Erin at ABC was awesome! The staff helped set up the venue the day before the wedding. They had great ideas for room arrangement, time management, and service. The day of the wedding they made sure that every detail was in order and ensured that the night ran smoothly. It was amazing!

Food was great! If that is not enough they were so helpful with all my changes and additions. I wanted to include monogram water bottles by my venue would not let me bring them, ABC offered to bring them and set them up...and they chilled them too. The linens and set up were beautiful, and they worked with Cakes by Linda so I would not have to pay an additional fee for the rentals of the cake decorations. I would use them again in a heart beat!

Food was delicious, and ABC was so quick at getting back to me during the planning and when I had questions. They kept the whole dinner very organized and running smoothly.

Love their food and their service! They were incredibly helpful and worked with our budget. Erin was so personable and helpful and gave great advice for table linens, appetizers, food, and center pieces. All of our guests loved the food!

A very long overdue but heartfelt THANK YOU for the outstanding job. The food was absolutely wonderful, we received so many compliments on everything, but I would also like to say what an outstanding job the staff did at the event. Erin and her staff were there from start to finish and helped to make our day complete! When I arrived at the reception, your staff had everything well in hand and they were on the ball all night.

We can not even begin to describe the excellent staff and service that we got from ABC Catering. Every detail was done they way we wanted and the food was delicious. We had a lot of guests comment on how good it was, how fast the drinks were being served and Larry was up on everything from making sure our buttercreme cake from another place didnt melt before we cut it to making sure everything was going well. You will not find a better catering place with in the area or in my standards country for the prices they have. ABC IS TOP NOTCH so stop looking elsewhere and go with them:) You will not hesitate from the moment you meet them to the day of your wedding!

A variety of entree options and we sampled quite a few and had a hard time deciding! Very good food and the service was excellent!

ABC Catering was amazing! Before the wedding, I worked with Erin who was so nice and patient and answered all my questions quickly and professionally. I decided to go with buffet for our meal, and to be honest I was skeptical becuase I was afraid that the food might get cold. Fortunately, I was so wrong! The food was delicious, and they planned just right. They also accommodated all my requests, especially for the hot cooca and their staff was professional and was nicely dressed. The food and the rentals (table cloths, silvereware, plates, etc.) were very expensive, but the bar bill was very reasonable! They are good, nice and fun! Go with them if you can!

I used ABC for my catering and alcohol. We had the most amazing food at our wedding. Everyone is still saying how great the food was. Apparently it was the best anyone has ever had at a wedding. :) The liguor services was pretty ok too. I really can't complain too much, but they did run out of one of the beer choices and one of the hard alcohol choices as well as a mixer at our open bar, but overall the bartenders and caterers were all fantastic.

We went to them for a tasting because they were rated so highly. We made an appointment, but got there, had to wait for a while - which is not that big of a deal. The big deal is that he spent forever trying to sell us equipment. Then some other people came in, which he started helping while we were sitting there and instructed to look at the other options he has. He finally came back, and gave us cold (as in refrigerated and not reheated) food. He gave us one side that was warm in a to go box, and said call him if we like it. Needless to say, we didn't call him back. Not worth the money you pay. The caterer we went to said he gets disgruntled ABC clients all the time.

I could not begin to say how pleased I was with ABC Catering! I did a lot of research before deciding on a caterer and so many were sooo expensive! I couldn't believe it would be $20 a person for not that much food! Then I found ABC Catering and never looked back! It was only $12/person for 2 meats, 2 potatoes, 1 veggie, salad and rolls! And the food was AMAZING! And they are the nicest people! They are truly trying to make your day the best it can be, and they are not trying to rip you off! They even do a kids discount which I didn't find anywhere else. They also help set up anything you want them to, they put out nuts and mints that we had bought from Sam's Club for no charge, they cut the cake without any extra charge! They were my favorite vendor to work with, they were always very helpful and quick to respond to any questions we had. I would book them and don't even bother looking anywhere else!

I would never recommend this catering service. We had a buffet lunch and I asked them if I should order extra in case people ate more sense it was an open buffet, they told me they would take care of it. As soon as I saw the layout of food I knew it was not enough for the amount of people I had. We asked them to bring more food since we knew right away there was enough and they did not bring more until an hour before the reception was over, by then people left the wedding because they were hungry and went out to eat. We were extremely embarrassed!

Erin was great to work with and was extremely helpful! The tastings were great and we were able to sample a lot of choices. I was very pleased with our food overall. ABC's sister company Unique Accents did our decorations. It was very nice to be able to take care of two huge aspects of the wedding at one place.

ABC Catering was great to work with. Very flexible and willing to work with your special requests. The food was wonderful and they served it beautifully.

I loved the caterer. The food was great and they went above and beyond in service. Every thing was done in a timly manner. I would defenitly choose them again.

We had ABC cater our rehearsal dinner and the food was unbelievably good! I could not believe all the choices you had to choose from for such a low price. We also had plenty left over. I would definitely recommend ABC to anyone!
