Abigail Kirsch Catering is amazing! They catered our wedding at Weylin in Brooklyn and everyone was talking about how incredible the food was. Taylor and Judy were fabulous. Just so professional and accommodating. I highly recommend!
Perfection. Not your typical wedding food here! Everything tastes amazing and the presentation is perfection. Highly recommended!
The food was absolutely amazing, we keep reviewing compliments. They gave us (bride and groom) both entree options to try on our wedding night which was fun to taste both (particularly since they don’t do tastings beforehand which is a bummer). Would absolutely recommend them, no one will leave hungry or unsatisfied for sure!
Just outstanding. Everyone LOVED the food at our wedding, (January 13th, 2018). Taylor and Judy were so wonderful to work with. From the tasting - some of the reviews mentioned no tasting, but we had one and it was gorgeous! - to the menu selection and the wedding, they were on top of it all. It was inventive and tasty and lavish without being pretentious. Thank you Taylor and Judy and the whole team!
Abigail Kirsch (led by Janet M with assistance from Madison M) did a wonderful job for our wedding in Westchester County, NY in October. We hired them to do the catering at our family home for a wedding of 70, and part of our goal in hiring them was that we knew they would give us the "full service" experience including handling the rentals and making sure our family had nothing to worry about on the day of the wedding. The food was wonderful: our guests were all raving about everything—especially the fish taco hors d'oeuvre. Our primary contact (and coordinator on the day of the wedding) was Janet M – Janet was fantastic for everything from helping us pick the rentals to setting the vision for how the party would flow. The cooks were working with a small family kitchen (versus a catering kitchen) and made it work despite the (probably not ideal) accommodations. Service was top notch—everything flowed smoothly, the bar was able to get drinks out efficiently, and all night everyone felt like the staff was taking good care of things. We had a few family members in attendance who can be a bit "snooty"—even they specifically emailed the next day to point out how wonderful the food was, how professional the staff was, and to say that they "enjoyed every minute of it." I had been anxious about whether everything would go well given that we had the wedding at home rather than at a "traditional" venue, and hiring Abigail Kirsch was the key to making sure the night was just perfect!
We had a December wedding at the Stone Mill of the New York Botanical Gardens, for which AK was an exclusive caterer. Unfortunately, they no longer will be working at NYBG which is a shame because the venue is perfect. In our research, nobody had nearly the kind of attention to detail and all-in-one packaging that AK had. The price per head is high (although we saved A LOT by doing a December wedding) but it's all inclusive. In fact, once we crunched the numbers on a cheaper venue and caterer, the extras (namely rentals, coordinator, cake baker, etc) added up to be the same cost anyway. They gave us a day-of coordinator with whom we met several times and he was fantastic (Gabe Vega). Really felt like he was our wedding planner from the start, even though we only met with him a few months beforehand. They don't do tastings, which was unnerving given that my husband is a chef and many of our friends are in the restaurant industry, but the second we saw their menu we knew we were going to be fine. The menu itself is ridiculous and the number of options and amount of food we got for the cost was way beyond our expectations. My sister, an event planner in Chicago, even was shocked at how much we got for the cost. And of course we weren't disappointed with quality. Pretty much everybody left the wedding saying that it was the best food they'd ever had at a wedding and that they would expect the same quality from any high-end restaurant in Manhattan. AK is hands-down the best caterer in the city and we're incredibly happy we chose them for our day.
delicious food, very easy to work with
Ok the food was spectacular - that goes without saying. But it was the service that we received from Lauren that really set them apart. Lauren and her team made sure that our every desire was met.
The food was so creative looking and SO amazing! The only negative is that you don't get to do a food tasting.
Unlike conventional caterers, this company really worries about more than the number of guests. They focus on taste and presentation. We had so many options to choose from. Everything was fresh and well prepared according to the season. Our guests were impressed and we were very pleased. The food was delicious and our cake was not just beautiful on the outside, it actually tasted great.
Had our ceremony and reception at The Lighthouse (Chelsea Piers) and AK was the caterer. Nothing to say but amazing, positive things.
The only downside is that they don't "do" tastings, so if you really care about trying the food--they aren't for you. Which is the only thing I'm a little bummed about--everyone said there was such amazing and awesome food ("best ever wedding food" to quote some guests) at our wedding, but I never got to eat or even try any of it because I was too busy being the bride!
Everything from the service to the presentation to the food itself (so I hear) was top notch. Just be prepared to spend a lot of $$ per person--but the quantity and quality of that food will be nothing short of amazing.
Food was creative and delicious. Waitstaff was very attentive.
