We sadly had the loss of my dad and she was so caring and understanding.  She helped us find another date and handled everything perfectly.  The night of the party was extraordinary.  Lory was there overseeing everything.  She made our night so wonderful! There were no mistakes in menu or anything we’d requested.  Matt was our maitre d’ and he was exceptionally as well, he oversaw the staff and was always nearby if we needed anything.  The wait staff was excellent, so friendly,  outgoing and continually going around with different appetizers throughout the night.  The food was so delicious and truly above the standards of any catering halls.  The bartenders took care of everyone efficiently making great drinks with a smile and witty comments. Overall the most memorable night for us and our guests. Highly recommend this venue and will always think of them for any future celebrations.

As a bride, I was able to enjoy the day of the wedding from start to finish. It was stress free. Jackie the bridal attendant checked on me intermittently throughout the day in the bridal suite and she was with us the entire night. She was always 5 steps ahead of me. And she made sure we were eating (the food was amazing!), drinking, and enjoying everything that we had planned. All of our guests are consistently saying it was the best wedding they've attended. We might be biased, but we feel the same! I would recommend this venue and the staff to anyone.

She was always available to answer our questions and provided invaluable insights that helped shape our special day. On the day of the wedding, our Bridal Attendant, Jackie, was nothing short of amazing. Her attentiveness and willingness to help were evident as she ensured everything went smoothly. Jackie was always one step ahead, making sure I had everything I needed, from adjusting my veil to providing a calming presence before the ceremony. The service during the reception was flawlessly executed by our maître d’, Tom. He orchestrated everything with such grace and efficiency, ensuring that our guests were well taken care of and that the timeline flowed seamlessly. It was a relief to know that we could enjoy our day without worrying about a thing. The sunset at Above was absolutely breathtaking, serving as the perfect backdrop for our vows. We couldn't have asked for a more picturesque setting. The food was delicious, with every dish precisely prepared and beautifully presented. Our guests couldn’t stop raving about the quality of the meals, and the drinks were perfectly crafted, adding to the celebratory atmosphere. Having a hotel on-site for our guests was another fantastic aspect of the weekend. It made everything so convenient, allowing everyone to relax and fully enjoy the festivities without the hassle of transportation. Overall, our wedding at Above was a dream come true, filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable memories. I am incredibly grateful to Jennifer, Jackie, and Tom for their hard work and dedication in making our day so special. ay was exactly what we wanted. Jen was my bridal attendant and I cannot say enough good things about her. She is absolutely amazing! She took care of everything and somehow anticipated what I wanted or needed before I even knew myself. She’s kind and helpful and I’m so appreciative of her. Tom was our Maitre D and he was also extremely attentive and kind. Between Jen and Tom, they made sure everything went perfectly and smoothly. We couldn’t have done this without them. I also want to thank Lory for making sure that our wedding went off without a hitch. She even called my florist when my bouquet started to fall apart, and had them come back to the venue to fix the bouquet before the ceremony. Everyone was wonderful and I would recommend this venue to anyone looking for a beautiful place with amazing staff to have your wedding.

erfect wedding day. They rolled with every punch we threw their way and ultimately made things as stress free as you can get with a wedding. The all-inclusiveness of the Above package was seriously the best way to go for my high-strung self. Every little thing was taken care of, even down to the cake. The actual venue itself is gorgeous, balcony views stunning and we were blessed with perfect weather. We even had our ceremony outdoors at the Trellis which looked like something out of a fairy tale! 1000 out of 1000 would recommend <3

so magical!! The food was exceptional and plentiful, the views of NYC were amazing, and the vibes were exactly what we wanted for our big day. From start to finish, our event coordinator, Lory, was our saving grace and guiding light. She was so helpful with meeting all of our requests and her suggestions. All of the staff, including the bridal attendant, Jackie, and Maitre De, Tom, were so lovely to work with. If I wasn't deadset on being with my husband for the rest of my life, I'd have another wedding there again. Will be going back to have all of our other events in the future. AZING food, and is very convenient when half of your wedding guests are coming from out of town as it is located in a hotel. We saw the venue, immediately fell in love, and looked no further. Working with our event planner Jennifer Finch was nothing short of amazing. She is extremely skilled at her craft, providing warm hospitality, understanding, professionalism, and efficiency. Jennifer helped enormously as we navigated the overwhelming process of planning a wedding. I cannot tell you how many people have reached out and mentioned how magnificent the cocktail hour was. Not only was the cocktail hour rooftop exquisite, the quality AND quantity of food are outrageous, truly setting the tone for the night. Upon entering the ballroom, it was romantic and dreamy. Dinner was excellent. Our guests chose from three distinct and delicious entrees and the cake provided by Sweet Sweet Sue's was out of this world. Additional desserts were also at the table and being served by the wait staff. The food was truly incredible from start to finish. Thanks to our amazing DJ, the party did not stop all night. It was a FULL night of dancing, which is exactly what we wanted. The venue, along with all of their staff and our incredible vendors, truly helped make our wedding vision become a reality and we could not recommend it more!

As for the venue it self, it is absolutely STUNNING all by itself. The staff was amazing. The open bar was great. We opted for another food vendor, Orange Grill, which Above exclusively works with and it was everything we wanted. Another plus is that you and your guests can book rooms in the hotel which made everything SO much easier. The bridal sweet is extremely spacious and has everything you need to get ready. I am so happy we went with Above. Absolutely zero regrets.

When we visited above for the first time, the elevator doors opened up, our jaws fell to the floor and we instantly knew this was the place we wanted to celebrate our long awaited wedding. Jenn (our wedding planner) was INCREDIBLE. She assisted us with our vision and the many questions to help execute the wedding of our dreams. Jackie (my bridal attendant) and Tom (our Maitre d') were the most "on top of it" people I could have asked for, so sweet, professional and amazing in every sense of the word! Every aspect of the day was exactly what we envisioned and more. That night friends and family were telling us this was the best wedding they have ever been to. 10/10 in every aspect.

husband & I walked in, we knew it was the one! It was the first venue we saw & the last. The ambiance is like no other, it’s very modern & elegant. Our venue coordinator was Jenn Finch & boy was she amazing! My bridal assistance Jackie was incredible, anything I needed that night I didn’t even need to finish my sentence & she got it done. The food was out of this world, & I know everyone gets nervous because if you’ve never been to a place before you hope the food is good. Well I can 100% say I was not disappointed with our food. 1 month later & our guests still talk about the food. The Nicotras really have an awesome team for their weddings & I say at least once a week I want to re-live my wedding day because it was just AMAZING! Our guests still tell us that it was the best wedding they’ve been to. If you’re considering Above, just go see the venue & meet the wedding team. Once you do, I know you’ll love it just as much as we did!

time that I walked the venue with Jennifer and I asked questions that I knew only a venue of a specific caliber would know; I knew this venue was up to the task. You also know that this venue is taken seriously because at every event the owners stop by and will jump in and support their staff. They came to my rehearsal dinner, to the cocktail hour, they were cleaning tables, and passing out food. Owners don't do that at most venues. The staff from top to bottom was a dream! I don't have one negative thing to stay and again this is what I do for a living. It was a huge deal for me to be a bride that day and not an event producer. I do not live or know anything about Staten Island but it is 100% worth going to. I highly highly recommend this venue and Jennifer! I don't have enough words for how beautiful and flawless they made our day! I owe them everything!

We are still receiving compliments on how impressive the venue was! The cocktail hour food is delicious and there were over 10 pages of options to choose from! The options also included pizza and strombolis which were a hit. Above was extremely accommodating in every step of the way- Jenn always found a way to fit our needs! She also reached out to many vendors herself to get the necessary paperwork for the venue. On my wedding day I had an unforeseen disaster with my seating chart and was unable to use it (the seating chart was done by an unreliable outside vendor NOT associated with Above). Jenn and the whole event staff went above and beyond to HAND SEAT each guest from my guest list. They kept me calm and were able to move all my guests from the cocktail hour to their assigned seats within 10 minutes. This kind of service is something you absolutely need in your wedding venue. I cannot thank the staff of Above enough for going above and beyond to make our wedding the best day ever.

ng hit the mark. I was looking for a modern venue, close to NY and city, high ceilings etc. The venue takes your breath away even before decorations. I loved the swarovski crystal ceilings, the insanely beautiful bar, the space for the cocktail area and well everything. Guests said the cocktail hour was the best they have ever been to and I was very happy with all the food from start to finish. We used a personal vendor for the cake, however Above will include if interested. Now on to the Staff. We worked with Sue V. from beginning to end and I could not have been more happy with her. She was so helpful from our initial meeting, to contract, to food tasting, in between up until our big day, the big day and on. Sue worked with me very closely, was super quick to respond via email and just made me feel confident and excited throughout the entire process. Thank you Sue! Our maitre'd and bridal attendant were equally fabulous and I have only amazing things to say about everyone. If you are looking for a sleek/breathtaking/modern venue I think you will be very happy with Above and their team. The owners came out to introduce themselves to us and it was a very nice touch during the cocktail hour. Thank you everyone at Above for a stunning day.

xt morning, everything was perfect. The food was great. Our guests raved about a cocktail reception. Still do this day. Everyone LOVED the idea of a more loungy atmosphere with food all night rather than a traditional sit down dinner. We worked with Sue Vaiana. To say she is the best is an understatement. She truly knows what she is doing and it shows. She enjoys what she does & actually cares, which says a lot. I loved planning my wedding with her. All the vendors they recommended were top notch as well. I want to redo this night over & over. Everything about having our wedding at Above was perfect!!!

They delivered the whole package. I was so scared of experiencing that wedding planning nightmare that I hear so much about, but everything was flawless! We couldn’t have picked a better venue and staff to help us with our best day ever! We are forever grateful to Sue, the Nicotra’s and the whole Above Rooftop/Hilton staff!

e built a stunning reception venue that is housed on even more beautiful hotel grounds. If you're considering getting married on Staten Island, this is the clear choice. The team at HGI Staten Island are unmatched in their professionalism and customer service. And if Above isn't your style, I highly suggest considering one of the other venues they have for your wedding or event. We had our rehearsal dinner in the front lobby room and our post-wedding brunch in the team room. You'll never second guess your choice to become a part of the HGI Staten Island family. A colleague recently attended an event at The Pierre Hotel in Manhattan and commented to me that while the food there was good it didn't compare to the food at our wedding. I'm glad my husband and I got to thank the chef personally the day of our wedding. He was personally checking each salad and making finishing touches when we went upstairs for sunset pictures. Unreal! But not at Above. We worked with event coordinator, Jenn Finch. It was easy to get in contact with Jenn for our initial meeting and she was responsive throughout our entire planning process. At the rare times she was unavailable, we were supported by her colleague, Sue, who was wonderful. We had a few date options for our desired month of September 2018 when we booked in May 2017. We had a few hiccups with guests booking their rooms under the wedding rate. We addressed them with Jenn and they were taken care of to the best of the staff's ability. As a bride and groom, you have the responsibility for making sure things are going smoothly for your guests. At HGI Staten Island, having a coordinator as part of your wedding there is priceless. I suggest having your tasting and final meeting as early as possible. Above has incredible seasonal menus which may limit how early you can have your tasting. However, try to have the informational part of that meeting at least 5 months before. It ticks a lot of boxes and Jenn lays out every thing you'll need to do and the best way to do it. She and her team are experts of Above. Trust them. My husband got ready in the made-for-weddings bridal suite and I got ready at home before our church ceremony. I suggest hiring a day of coordinator to make the day go smoothly. You have a huge resource in your coordinator (Jenn) and bridal attendants (they're amazing!!) when you're on the grounds but having a professional day of coordinator to communicate with the HGI team and your vendors (photographer, band, florist) will make the focus for you and your family only enjoying the day. And day of coordinators typically work with you a few months before. That is the only thing I would change about my wedding day. You'll have endless opportunity to customize the space to make it your own. We chose hot pink lights behind the bar on the rooftop and arranged the furniture near the champagne bar in the ballroom to be more lounge-like. Above rooftop and ballroom make every other venue pale in comparison. It's the same stunning venue for each couple but never looks the same because of all the options you have. It's not cookie cutter and the quality doesn't waver! Thank you to Mr. and Mrs. Nicotra, Jenn, and the entire staff at the Hilton Garden Inn for making our wedding one of the best days of our lives.
