We recently had our wedding ceremony at George Bear Chapel, and I would like to share both the wonderful aspects and the challenges we faced during our experience. First and foremost, the venue itself is absolutely stunning. The space was perfect for our ceremony, and many of our guests commented on how breathtaking the surroundings were. We couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful location for our special day.
In the months leading up to the wedding, the staff were incredibly communicative and helpful, providing timely responses to our questions and assisting with the planning process. It gave us confidence that we were in good hands and that the day would go smoothly.
However, there were a few challenges we faced during the actual wedding weekend that I feel are worth mentioning. On both our rehearsal day and wedding day, we arrived at the venue at the agreed-upon time, only to find ourselves locked out and unable to access the space. We had been reassured that there would be staff available to assist us, but unfortunately, on our wedding day, no staff were present when we arrived, and we did not see the wedding coordinator the entire weekend. This lack of on-site support was a bit stressful and left us scrambling to get everything set up and organized.
While the venue itself is incredible and the overall experience was positive, we feel that more attention to coordination and on-site presence would have made the event run much more smoothly. We understand that things can occasionally go awry, but clearer communication and staff presence during key moments would have made a big difference.
We would still recommend Abe Lincoln Events and George Baer Chapel for its beauty and charm, but future couples should be aware that there may be gaps in support during the weekend of the event.
An absolutely stunning venue for our wedding. We used the presidential Ballroom for the reception and the Roosevelt Room for cocktail hour. We also utilized The George Baer Chapel for our ceremony that is owned by the venue. Kelly was great to work with and very knowledgeable on the wedding planning process. She was quick to answer emails/texts during the week of our wedding to answer any last minute questions that we had.
I would love to set up a date to come in and talk more about it my name is Vanessa Ortiz cell phone number is 484-721-5852
Stunning venue with fantastic staff, excellent food and very easy to work with.
We loved the ballroom, it was PERFECT.
Thanks
We had our October 12, 2013 wedding at The Abraham Lincoln Hotel. The lobby and ballroom were beautiful. All of the renovation they have done in the hotel certainly paid off. We worked very close with Tracy, the wedding coordinator at the hotel, she was truly amazing to work with, very knowledgeable and quick to respond to any/all questions we had. Our guests LOVED the atmosphere and the food was outstanding! I would suggest looking here for a venue.
My husband and I used the Abraham Lincoln hotel as our reception cite. We were so thrilled by the service we received leading up to the wedding as well as on the day of the wedding. Not only were they great to work with, but they made every accomodation needed and were wonderful to our guests. We had lots of guests stay at the hotel and we heard nothing but great things from all of them. I would highly recommend the Abe Lincoln for other weddings! They were fantastic!
I did not use The Abraham Lincoln for my wedding reception. While it is a very beautiful venue for a reception it was too pricey for me.
