Amazing working with Absolute!
Stacy at the admin office is amazing and so helpful. She truly wants to help and make things easier for you in the process.
DJ Jordan was a VIBE!! He brought so much energy and served up the best songs. Loved working with him.
Tom and cliff were absolutely AMAZING at our wedding. Tom always had everyone on their feet and cliff picked the BEST playlist for the night. My husband and I did not leave the dance floor once!! Tom made sure before each dance or song that it was correct before playing the list! They made sure to play our top 10 towards the end of the night and that was a huge hit!!! If you need a DJ/MC for your wedding, go with ABSOLUTE!!
From start to finish, Gordon Thorn of Absolute Entertainment was a pleasure to work with for our recent wedding reception! Gordon is patient, knowledgeable, timely, and never without a smile. He was able to produce exactly what we asked for, and had people dancing all night! He was even able to satisfy my father's expectations for music.....which is not an easy task! I highly recommend Gordon Thorn and Absolute Entertainment for your DJ needs!
Absolute Entertainment did an amazing job at our wedding. They had the guests up and dancing the entire time. I loved that their process of planning the music prior to the big day, you really get to show them the type of music you want to hear throughout the night. What’s more is that they listen to what you want!!! Everything they played at our wedding was great. Christian was our MC and he was so friendly and not at all over bearing. He did a fantastic job getting everyone up on the dance floor and keeping the party going, which was what we wanted. Anthony did an amazing job with the playlist. We wanted fun 80s, 90s, and 2000s music throughout the night with some rock n’ roll and that’s exactly what we got! Our two biggest requests was that there wasn’t a lull in the music, we wanted the dancing constantly going, and that no hardcore rap was played. They made both happen!
Brett was absolutely amazing. His crew was fantastic. They were very transparent and made planning super easy. Only complaint was the main office wasn't in great communication with the DJ otherwise I'd give 5 stars.
We found Absolute Entertainment at a bridal show in Timonium, but they were also recommended by our venue. Gordon was very friendly and communicative in the beginning when we started to discuss using AE as a vendor. Very early on, we sent a complete list of songs for the whole day and were able to meet online via Skype to see and hear some sampling of the songs we had provided.
After the contract was locked in, we noticed that Gordon wasn't AS responsive as in the beginning and we were passed along to someone else to handle all the communications. After a few messages, Gordon might respond. He may have been really busy, but it's always nice when you can communicate with the original person.
We narrowed down our song selection and sent Gordon the updated list. He had initially told us that it was okay if we sent him the songs via email (vs the online submission website) so that's what we did.
We had our final meeting the week of the wedding. We went over the song list and discussed any special songs (first dance, father/daughter, etc.) We wanted to make decisions for as much as possible, but we didn't need final songs until the day before the wedding. During the meeting, we were told that we hadn't entered any information on the website and were asked to do so.
When we went to enter the information online, it seemed that the system was not very straightforward at all. Or we were extremely confused? We just couldn't figure out how to add the information that was requested (and my husband and I are both computer science majors who work with computers and web apps). We were exhausted from doing so many other things, so we sent it via email instead.
The ceremony music was lovely and the processional songs went exactly as planned, although Gordon was sick the day before and was unable to show up to the rehearsal as we had discussed. There was a point during the ceremony when a song was supposed to be played in the background but he came in at the wrong point and then it seemed like it was abandoned altogether.
Before the reception, he came and helped us line up for the intros and asked for clarification on a few of the wedding party names... and then proceeded to mispronounce just about every name, from the simple (Felicia) to the complicated (Seun). It was a little embarrassing, but didn't last long so it was something we tried to overlook.
We noticed during dinner that one of our first dance songs was playing, and I just hoped no one would notice. We changed our selection 2 days before the wedding and confirmed with Gordon, but it seems that he forgot to remove it from the rotation. We also noticed that he didn't fade out the songs, and let the entire songs play for each dance. Luckily, about half of the songs were only 2 minutes each, but long dances can become pretty awkward or boring so I would recommend explicitly discussing this if your DJ doesn't bring it up.
For our first dance, he started playing the wrong song. We stood still. A lot of brides might have freaked out but I made a decision to remain calm and still enjoy our day.
When we got to the dance portion, everyone did seem to have fun. Gordon played songs from the lists we sent him and seemed to read the crowd pretty well, which is the saving grace of this review. Once the crowd got on the dance floor, it was pretty consistent and they stayed there. I only wish that he had more of a presence as an MC and was more crisp with the songs and names.
We had Peter K. play at our wedding, and we was perfect! He was the best DJ-played great music, took requests, and he was engaging. The crowd was dancing the WHOLE time. We had so much fun, and Peter was awesome. The company and Peter were super easy to work with from day 1. We had a contract signed pretty fast, and Peter was in touch with us to see what kind of music we liked. I would definitely use this company-so easy to work with and great people! Thanks Peter!
We used Absolute Entertainment for our DJ and Keith Phillips did a great job. He was professional, friendly and kept people on the dance floor. It was a great experience from the beginning of the process to the end.
I met Keith at a bridal show and wasn't really sure what to expect. He invited my groom and I to come out for a demo, which was great. No other DJ that I considered seemed to have a location for you to come for a demo. The demo let us see if we gelled together and if we liked his style. Throughout the planning process the staff was professional and helpful. And Keith did not disappoint on the day of the wedding. I gladly recommend them to anyone. It was a great experience!
We used Absolute Entertainment and they did a great job. They were very professional and were sure to connect before the wedding to go over all of the details of the music (that I didn't even think of) to make sure they were providing exactly what we wanted. In our initial meeting with them they did a sample wedding (quickly) in their studio which we thought was really cool. They also have a great online planning tool that is easy to use to provide all your music information, requests and details.
Gavin was great and did a fantastic job on our wedding. He really *got* us and kept our friends and family members dancing ALL night long - everyone is still sore today! There was one hiccup with our first dance - the version played had a different intro than the version we had wanted (of course I had no idea there was another version)... So make sure that you double-check they have the right one for the songs that count!!
Ok so we went with the "head" DJ after listening to 2 of them give a sample at their studio. The one we selected showed us a sample in which he blended new beats to old songs and had a wide range. So we spent the extra $500 to go with this guy. However, on the day of he simply pressed play on a playlist of so so songs, which he didn't DJ with other beats and blending was so so. When I requested a song he had some assistant running the show and he told me "Um I can't play the song you want because I don't know how to take it off of the playlist mode" I almost lost it. I didn't pay this company $1000's to plug in a playlist and then leave during part of the ceremony. We spent more on this DJ with the expectation that we would have to give him little direction and that he would oh ya...actually DJ!! The only pro was that we had to give little direction on how to set up and where to go.
Jacob did an outstanding job!
These guys were so easy to work with and welcomed ideas and wishes of the bride and groom. They have an awesome studio that was like a tasting of the music. "Hands down best music at a wedding" a guest remarked to us! It was a great party!
Email communication and confirmation was a little spotty at times from our actual DJ.
My husband and I worked with Ken Rachon from Absolute Entertainment. At our first meeting with him, Ken was able to give us a "sample" of their music selection and equipment. We were thoroughly impressed and so paid more than what we had budgeted. Ken was great at keeping the younger guests on the dance floor by playing a lot of high tempo, pop music. Although we had emphasized wanting EVERYONE to be dancing, I guess we should have made a point to say that we wanted a fair number of slower dances too to get the older guests dancing as well. We spent a lot of time making a "playlist" to guide the dj. Many of the songs were used, but some were not (those that tended to be slower). This was our one disappointment. Ken was great at helping us pick our ceremony music and first, father/daughter and mother/son dances. He graciously turned down guests requests for the "electric slide", etc. and kept the announcements to a bare minimun which was much appreciated.
