AC Hotel Columbus Downtown

We had a room block and post-wedding brunch at the AC Hotel. All went very smoothly. Rooms were clean and modern. We worked with Maizie, who did a great job with coordinating.

Professionalism of the daytime staff was top notch! We booked our hotel block exactly one year before our wedding (the largest amount of time as allowed by Marriott). There were a few small hiccups along the way of planning that did not impact the overall stay or experience with the hotel but I think it's important to be transparent! While planning, the Sales Coordinator that was helping me left for a new role and I had to do my own tracking down of their replacement. Luckily I was a neurotic planner and knew that I should be hearing from her and I wasn't. However, her replacement was just as great! Second, we asked for and it was confirmed that we would have a few extra chairs AND a mirror in our suite for getting ready. This did not happen and when we called the front desk, they were almost confused as to where they would get the chairs from/it did not seem like this was a common request. They did end up bringing some so it all worked out but we still never got a mirror, which was a bit disappointing. Finally, and this is purely because I am a perfectionist and HATE when something in my control doesn't go as planned and always feel like I could have done more. We got our room block guest attendee names but it was only about half of the actual guests that stayed there. Due to booking with points, not using the room link, booking late...they didn't show up. However, I made bags for everyone ON THE LIST so a few people were like "Was the hotel supposed to give me a check in bag?" and it's like WELL YES IF YOU BOOKED THROUGH THE ROOM BLOCK. All of that to say, that was absolutely not the hotel's fault AT ALL but maybe some bride will read this and make a ton of ~extra~ hotel gift bags so that ALL wedding guests - whether a part of the room block or not - get a bag. :)
