AJ Vinsh Photography

When I first reached out to AJ, the reviews I've seen of her were amazing, and the photos in her portfolio were incredible. I even reached out asking why she was so affordable, because she really is. Great communication leading up to the day. Then my wedding. She had little to no direction in her photos. I tried to think of every photo I wanted, but unfortunately missed a few in the chaos. No suggestions from her - not the biggest deal but strange for a professional photographer to have no idea what photos should be done. The problems started after the wedding. The communication dropped entirely. It was nearly impossible to get a hold of her. 3 months passed since our wedding (and the deadline that we were supposed to receive our photos per our contract) and nothing. After some pestering on my end I finally received a flash drive of nearly unedited photos. The only thing that seemed to be done with them was a duplicate of every photo that had a black and white filter applied to it. There were even some photos of clutter in a room I didn't recognize. It seemed obvious she just copied over her memory card with no work done to the actual photos. We still hadn't received the albums I ordered by that point and all communication stopped. It took my husband threatening legal action to get any response from her. 8 months after our wedding and we finally received the albums, that were outsourced to a 3rd party to complete.

I'm torn on leaving my review about AJ Vinsh, but here it goes. She was recommended by a friend, and very reasonably priced. She is not from the area where we live, but was very flexible in traveling, and even being outside of her mileage range, her prices were great. We met her in the middle for engagement photos. Our availability was very limited, and we did pictures on a frigid day. She was fun to work with, very easy to get along with, and had our pictures to us quickly. She even put together some save the dates for us to use. Not her fault that I'm super picky and didn't like them; I appreciate the work she put in. Getting closer to our wedding, I started getting nervous because her responsiveness sometimes took a while. I was afraid she wouldn't show. We heard negative feedback from our friend that recommended her that she hardly participated in their wedding, and I started reading negative reviews too. Thank goodness she showed up, and on time. I made her a list of photos I wanted, kept in touch, and didn't keep her the entire reception as she had a long drive home and a wedding the next day. She kept busy on the day of our wedding, and we really didn't have any issues. After our wedding is when it went downhill. We really didn't hear much from her. Her website "broke" so you couldn't even check your album to see when it was available. She stopped responding to emails as well. Finally, she texted me saying her email was not working, but the pictures were uploaded. I thanked her, reviewed them, and didn't hear anything else for a while. I went through the contract and realized we had 60 days to let her know what pictures we wanted as our print outs. Once we figured that out, I let her know our selections. Again, no direction on anything from her. Another month went by, I asked her for an update and said I wanted to wrap up all of our wedding stuff. She said she'd be able to have everything sent in the next couple of weeks. After not hearing from her, I texted again asking for an update, she said she would be able to get our package sent out the Tuesday after Memorial Day. Another week went by, and no package. I texted her again asking if she was able to get it mailed out on Tuesday, and she said it should arrive in a couple of days. 3 days later, our package arrived.....from a third party company. It took 8 months for us to receive our photos. AJ has a full time job, so I know she's busy, but you have to make time for your business. When we finally saw our pictures, you can tell she didn't edit any of them....correction, she made a black and white copy of each image. The focal point of our wedding was on a lake which we hardly have any pictures of. Some pictures have trash on picnic tables that we obviously don't want to use. I would have loved pictures of myself walking down the stairs to the ceremony, or the look on my dad's face when he first saw me, but she was not around. There are minimal pictures of me and my husband during our reception, and quite a few pictures are blurry or complete trash. If you aren't going to edit, at least remove the ones that look like crap! Our 11x14 and 8x10 pictures were supposed to be framed....they're not. I'm just glad we got our package and it's over. I've read reviews of people getting attorneys. Like I said, I feel bad that maybe she has a lot going on, but don't ignore your clients. At this time, I would not recommend. She's basically checked out and it will be a nightmare.

My vow renewal was May 15,2022. Other than my watermarked proofs, I never received the photograph package I paid for. AJ keeps coming up with excuses on why I didn't get them. Save your money. Don't trust her!!!

Very Unprofessional. Our Engagement session went great, AJ made us feel very comfortable, it was alot of fun and we loved our pictures. As far as the Wedding, we had a very different experience with her. The communication with AJ was ridiculous, not only did we have multiple emails for her, we also had two different phone numbers. When she would finally get back to us, she had excuse after excuse... She never told us when she posted our pictures, I just randomly went on and saw them. While looking through our photos, there were a least a few hundred from someone else's wedding mixed in and a handful of our own photos were missing, which she had to go back and find after I told her, I know you have pictures of us cutting the cake and us doing this and that. We were also sent two folders which contained different pictures, every picture had one color and one black and white, ours had one color and two black and whites and all of them were out of order, so it was really frustrating to go through them all. All of the pictures of me walking down the aisle are far away and blurry as are all of the ones when they did the announcements. There are a handful of "detail" pictures with cell phones on the table or random things in the backround, which I would think as a professional photographer, she would have taken the time (she had plenty of it while we were getting ready) to move a few things around. It seemed like she just went with the flow instead of having any input on poses, I felt like our wedding party had more ideas then she did. As a bride, you're getting pulled every which way, the last thing on your mind should be, is my photographer doing her job? Some of her responses: -I don't know why two folders came up. -I hurt my wrist, I can't use the computer. -My email is not working. -I thought I responded already. -I got your photos last week but never had time to go to the post office and now I have the flu. After I spent so much time going through pictures and ordering the one we wanted framed, which was horizontal, she then tells us, Oh I forgot to tell you it has to be vertical. We opted for a blank frame because I just did not have time to go through her unorganized mess of photos again. 7 months later we finally get our pictures and one of the larger prints, really one of the only ones we liked, she never took her signature off of it, which was part of the package! 4 out of the 5 prints we received were not the ones we ordered, and our flash card did not have a single picture from our ceremony on it! Yes some photos we did really like and yes she was very friendly and yes she was on the less pricey side, but I guess you get what you pay for.... I would not recommand AJ Highly disappointed
