Words can’t describe how much I enjoyed working with Carolyn and her staff. They made the process seem effortless. While maintaining a high level of professionalism Carolyn is charming, genuine. and most importantly, a calming influence for us frantic Mothers of the bride; a shoulder to lean on. Carolyn was the planner, designer, and coordinator for our daughter’s New Orleans wedding this past Saturday, February 12. There are not enough words to describe how wonderfully perfect everything and everyone was! My daughter’s face told the story. She was so happy! And that made her daddy and me happy. The venue, the food, the photographer, the DJ, the DECORATIONS! She didn’t just plan a wedding, she custom designed it just for the bride and groom, interweaving every detail of their unique personalities throughout from beginning to end. You see, they are a couple of nerdy research scientists into all sorts of nerdy things. I have had so many people gushing with compliments about the whole thing. One of them is a pianist who has done more weddings than she can count, and she said this has got to be the best one she’s ever been to. Thank you, Carolyn, for giving that to my baby girl.
For starters if you want the wedding of your dreams with an amazing wedding planner by your side, Carolyn is the way to go.
We originally hired a different wedding planner and unfortunately it fell through, Carolyn came to my rescue and reassured me that everything was going to be ok! And sure enough it was! She took all my stressors and made them her own, she honestly held my hand all the way from Chicago during the pandemic.
I can't thank her enough! We had to postpone our wedding three times, and she was so helpful and positive. If I had a question or concern Carolyn would answer within minutes and sometimes talk me through things via phone for hours. I mean she did things that were not a part of our package and genuinely just wanted to help us and make sure we had the wedding of our dreams. This is someone who loves what she does and loves her clients and I am so happy she was a huge part of our special day. We will always remember Carolyn and she will always hold a special place in our hearts. If you hire her, I promise you, not only will you have an amazing experience but you will also gain a friend.

Carolyn was a joy to work with for my wedding. Her commitment to me and my husband was unparalleled, even during COVID, which was appreciated more than she knows. She is insanely creative and helped bring all of my ideas to life, plus came up with additional ideas to enhance the initial vision. I can't thank her and her team enough for everything they did for us throughout this long and complicated wedding process due to global pandemics and hurricanes.
All About Events is a class act operation, an embarrassment of riches. My groom and I were cared for by Carolyn and her excellent crew of planners from the moment of our first introduction. Carolyn has an impeccable knack to listen to your desires and inspirations and then execute them most beautifully and elegantly. Carolyn, her fantastic and attentive assistant Rhonda worked very hard during Covid-19 to pull off our event despite citywide restrictions. Every couple needs a Carolyn and All About Event planners for their special day. Ours was magical and fanciful. Thank you, Carolyn, and the All About Events crew. We are forever grateful ❤️❤️❤️
March 6, 2020 wedding - weekend before the world ended
It has been about two months since our wedding, and we still have guesting messaging us how our wedding was the best wedding they have ever attended and that is all thanks to Carolyn. A lot of our guest traveled from outside of the country and are already thinking about a 5 or 10 year anniversary celebration because it was that much fun.
As an out of town bride, Carolyn did an excellent job of constantly communicating with us during the entire planning process particular when I would feel overwhelmed about what there was left to do or when to do it. It is hard to see the big picture at times when everything is pretty much done the last two weeks before the wedding. She also was very accommodating when it came to the dates that we would visit NOLA to pick out venues and other vendors. She made sure to make the most of those days and planned everything accordingly.
I will admit I was a bride that knew exactly what she wanted, but at the same time had no idea how to either voice it or what I really wanted. Carolyn was amazing at being my voice to vendors (especially floral) or coming up with ideas from the string of jumbled up ideas I would give her.
Carolyn is a local which helps so much during the wedding planning, if she doesn't know a certain vendor or answer she definitely knows someone who has worked with them or knows the answer. She always recommended the best vendors, but never shied away from expanding her network if I had a preference for someone knew, which I think is a very important quality for a wedding planner to have.
Wedding budget - it can be a big of a sensitive topic to constantly be discussing especially when your groom is very easy say yes to all options. Carolyn was very frank and upfront if a vendor or particular item that we wanted for the wedding would be outside of our budget. She was always conscious of it and approached it in a very nonchalant manner.
Finally, the welcome drinks and day of the wedding were hands down the most stress free days during the entire process. As I mentioned before, our guest still are raving about the wedding. The last two weeks can seem like chaos and overwhelming but Carolyn took care of every last detail and had it all come together better than what I had imaged in my head. On the day of the wedding, she took care of anything and everything, there was a literal fire in our venue during our ceremony and we did not hear about it until the weeks after because she is that good.
Carolyn makes your priorities her priorities and really saw how important our dog and son were in planning in our wedding and went beyond making sure they were both a part of the big day and taken care of throughout the day without too much stress on myself or husband. I could go on and on about Carolyn and how great she is and how no detail is missed.
Not only was amazing at all aspects of wedding planning, but she always has become a great friend to us!
It’s been just over a week since our NOLA wedding and I’m still smiling thinking about how incredibly special it was. It would not have been possible without Carolyn and her team. They took my vision and created this beautiful French Quarter wedding that we have been dreaming about for over a year of planning. Carolyn created the perfect balance of fun and classy, even in the middle of a very hectic Mardi Gras!
From my very first conversation with her, I knew she would take into account all of our desires all the way down to the very last detail. As soon as we hired All About Events, Carolyn completely swooped in and took over all communications and planning with every vendor. She analyzed every contract in detail and was able to create a timeline for the wedding and reception down to the minute!
We truly appreciate the care and expertise that was put forth into our wedding and we will not forget it. Thank you for pulling off our magical day!
All About Events, you have once again outdone yourselves! As a first-time mom of the groom, I was nervous and excited but you all knew just what to do to help me enjoy every moment. Thank you so much for arranging the chauffeurs and black sedan caravan to whisk us from the rehearsal on St. Charles Avenue to the dinner in the French Quarter, we felt like rock stars! And I will forever cherish that mom/son dance at the wedding. Thank you, Matthew, for being there to comfort me when I became overwhelmed with emotion! I heard the bride’s family comment how grateful they were because they were far too busy the day of the wedding to decorate the venue and set it all up, transitioning from pre-wedding to ceremony to reception. Y’all did an amazing job. Here are some comments I overheard: “The Eiffel venue was beautiful”, “Decorations were killer”, “It all looked magical!”, “The kids area was a great idea.”, “The live music at the ceremony and the reception was incredible!”, “I want a playlist!”, “Can’t beat a real New Orleans 2nd line – the bride and groom’s umbrellas shone spotlights down on them!” And my favorite quote of the night: “Steven and Steph look so happy together.”
I am writing this review almost 5 months after my wedding, but better late than never! Carolyn came recommended from a friend of a friend. I actually spoke to a couple of wedding planners before hiring Carolyn, particularly because I live in NY and I needed someone that I knew could execute and would provide me the support that I needed. I will freely admit that I am not an easy client - I am type-A and detail-oriented. I also send way too many emails! What convinced me was that (1) Carolyn immediately had ideas and was exciting about planning, and (2) she explicitly she said she would make herself available for all of my questions via email and/or text. I had one wedding planner who told me that I would be charged based on the # of hours spent on my wedding.
Carolyn made my life much easier because she went above and beyond - she bought toiletries from a pharmacy for guests' use, painted crates for those toiletries, assembled our photo collage, handled all of our guest gifts (including customized shot glasses), made all labels, accepted deliveries at her home and those are just the details I can remember! She did a million of other things behind the scenes. She pushed back with vendors (including pulling someone in when we weren't happy with the wine list) and gave me suggestions about linens and where to save money. If Carolyn offered to do something for our wedding, she was never thinking about how much EXTRA to charge me. There were absolutely no hidden fees and she was just trying to have a happy bride. Carolyn helped me find vendors and would narrow down the list and guide me along the way.
Getting a wedding planner is not a cheap endeavor, but it was well-spent money when you just don't have time to look at every single detail. Carolyn even handled my dessert tasting. I really couldn't have done it without her and she always did it with a smile, whether or not I was being a pain that day, and always did her best to give me exactly what I wanted. Our wedding day was gorgeous and I have Carolyn (and her sister and all the other amazing vendors) to thank for that!
We do not know what we would have done without Carolyn and the All About Events team! We planned to have an out of town elopement and the success of our event is due solely to Carolyn. She patiently and diligently walked us through the planning process and completely took all stress away about planning an out of town wedding. From our first conversation until the conclusion of our event, Carolyn calmly and elegantly guided us to having the most epic wedding and made it feel easy the entire time! She is so knowledgeable, organized and a true professional. Her entire team worked so hard to make sure our day was magical and memorable but one of the things we will always take away is how magical and memorable All About Events was to us. We cannot recommend them enough. Run, don't walk to book Carolyn as your go-to for all things amazing!!!
THEE BEST WEDDING PLANNER EVER!!! I STILL have goosebumps and our guests are STILL raving a month later!! Before I ever got engaged or even met my husband it has always been my dream to "Just get dressed!" the day of my wedding along with my motto that the reception should be a PARTY to thank your guests for coming and celebrating with the Bride & Groom. MAN OH MAN is that EXACTLY what happened!! If I tried to plan it myself, or with ANY OTHER TEAM....I doubt it would've happened. It started with a telephone call. I received some interview questions from family and friends to interview possible wedding planners, since I don't live in the area and know who to really trust with my special day. I talked to approximately 5-7 different wedding planners in and outside of the New Orleans area. Carolyn was THE ONLY ONE who was personable, did not take the questions as an insult and told me that she would ensure that my day was PERFECT despite my budget. Throughout the process she ensured that when we came to NOLA for planning, our time was used wisely...I mean EVERY MINUTE!!! LOL Carolyn connected us to the BEST in the Business in New Orleans when it came to vendors, she kept me as close to my budget as possible (LOL as I did go slightly over because I wanted what I wanted LOLOL), and she also became our FRIEND along the way!! Not only did I love her, my husband loved her, my Mom and Brother loved her and my wedding party ADORED HER!!! She was open any time I needed something and went the extra mile to get not only what I wanted, yet also things I didn't know I needed!! She is even currently in a fight with the NOPD as I paid for three police to escort us during our second-line and only one showed!! She and her team ensured that we ALL felt special and that our wedding was definitely one for the record books....as our guests say... IT WAS EPIC!!! Even my money frugal husband said that it was the BEST MONEY we spent on our entire wedding (and he's cheap LOL)!! Carolyn was a God send! She came to us when we were over our head in wedding planning details and overwhelmed. She helped keep my wife at ease and helped us have the best day of our lives. We had an epic second line Carolyn helped us set up and plan. Our wedding was magical and we could not have done that without Carolyn!
Carolyn from All about events worked with us to organize our second line through the French quarter after our wedding. I cannot express how amazing the experience was. It is no small job to get permits, organize the police escorts, get a route approved and then make it the best damn party experience you will ever have. If I had to do all of that myself, which was an option, I would have really stressed myself out. The price for the second line is WELL worth all you get. I didn’t have to worry about anything. She did an amazing job and had an overall all awesome attitude. Super easy to work with. We worried about nothing and then loved everything she put together for us! The band was awesome and Carolyn was on site to handle it all. Even with me knowing the plan, it was still this awesome surprise to have the band arrive in our reception and start playing. She marched and danced with us, had an amazing umbrella decorated for us, pedi cabs for some of our family who couldn’t walk the whole time. Like my mom and some older guests. She also had monogrammed Second line napkins. My guests were beaming about the experience for days and referred to it as a bucket list experience. The only thing I long for is to do it over again. It was that good. ☺️
My husband and I decided to have a small destination wedding 2 years ago to renew our vows. I knew from the beginning I needed an event planner and we decided New Orleans was it.
As I was looking I came across All About Events, Carolyn was very quick in responding and she and I just clicked from the beginning. It was very hard to let go and trust the process of someone else taking over and handling everything but I did it. It was the best decision, words can’t describe the day of the event, it was absolutely beautiful. From the constant care and attention given to the guests to the end of the night. She was not only a pleasure to work with but she really knows how to capture your vision. Her recommendations from caterer, florist, etc were also just as a great. If your planning to renew your vows or get married Carolyn is your girl. Thank you so much All About Events for everything you are truly amazing!
We were a bit indecisive when it came to our venue, as we were going to have the wedding at home until two months before the wedding. A contractor fell through at the last minute, and we had to scramble to find a venue.
Carolyn expertly guided us through that as well as all the other stages of wedding planning (believe me, if you have not done it before, you cannot even begin to imagine how many decisions have to be made). Given the last minute change in venue, she essentially had 2 months to plan an entire 100 person wedding - the wedding went off without a hitch.
Carolyn is professional, affordable, easy to get in contact with, and perhaps most importantly - honest and too the point. She knows how much things should and shouldn't cost, and can save you money, time, and headaches at every turn. Not only that, but she does not impose her own style on weddings - she works with the couple so they recognize their own vision.
One more point - this is New Orleans - a city where vendors don't show up and bands cancel last minute. Vendors wouldn't dare cancel on Carolyn, but if they did, she has a full contact list of replacements that are ready at the drop of a hat.
Carolyn has our never-ending thanks for arranging our wedding and our complete endorsement as a planner. We never had any doubts that things would go exactly as planned - and that is worth way more than what Carolyn charges!
Can't recommend Carolyn and her team highly enough. They are truly knowledgable and experienced and helped guide my wife, Stephanie and myself through the process. They knew exactly where we needed to be and when, and at no point did we feel under pressure or stressed out by the day - indeed quite the opposite. They made us both feel incredibly relaxed and as a result, we have nothing but incredible memories of our big day at Race + Religious. I would recommend them to anyone without hesitation. Best idea I had about my wedding was to hire Carolyn and her team as my wedding planner! She was super on top of my entire event and made planning such a breeze! I booked her for "month-of" service and it was definitely the best idea I've had about wedding planning. She even saved me from a huge possible mishap with another vendor which I am so grateful for!
She saved me so much stress and headaches in the last month with all the coordination of the vendors, making sure all the details of set up were taken care of, making sure the reception timeline ran smoothly, just everything! Carolyn and her team are absolutely worth every single penny! Having Carolyn as for my month-of planner allowed me to actually enjoy my wedding instead of having to stress about all the last minute details! You cannot go wrong with hiring Carolyn!
All About Events was so pleasant to work with! Carolyn was prompt to contact us and so friendly. Our requests for the second line route and hankie design was completely honored. Carolyn also made us a beautiful umbrella based on our wedding theme. The second line was the most memorable part of our celebration and All About Events made it possible!
Carolyn and her team were amazing to work with. I planned my April 22nd wedding from Washington, D.C. and got connected with All About Events through my DJ to coordinate the Second Line for my wedding. Carolyn gave me ideas that I never even considered. I felt like all of the heavy lifting was done for me, and all I had to do was enjoy the moment! Carolyn even sent me a couple of pictures afterwards. It was amazing and totally made my wedding! I would highly recommend to anyone!
Carolyn was fantastic to work with. I was a bit of an unusual situation, and she incredibly flexible and accommodating. I originally engaged her to do month-of and day-of services, but began the vendor research/coordinating/booking myself. I had strong opinions of what I wanted, and I wanted to be involved in each decision, but because my venue required me to bring EVERYTHING in, I was in way over my head with the amount of work it took to bring it all together.
As the wedding approached, I realized there was no way for me to get everything done without some additional help, and she stepped up to the plate. Basically I said, "I know what I need to do, I just don't have time to do it," and she came in and made everything happen along with big doses of professional advice that I couldn't have done without.
She was very patient with me and with my Mom, which is no small feat. The vendors she recommended were excellent to work with and a great value compared to others I shopped. My mom and I had a good handle on the "creative" aspect in terms of putting together the different components (music, lighting, florals), but Carolyn's input and organization were key to our execution.
I would recommend her to anyone without condition, and would absolutely work with her again if given the chance. But hopefully not for another wedding, at least of my own ;-)
Carolyn and her team are amazing. We decided to use All About Events for their Day-Of Wedding Planning Services. That was the best decision we made with regards to wedding preparations. Alison, Carolyn's sister, was the one that actually worked with us. She made sure all vendors were there on time, she had an agenda for everyone followed, took care of the setup and breakdown of the reception, etc. Nothing went wrong at our wedding because of her hard work!! I highly recommend using this type of service even if you are local. I was able to have a fun-filled and non stressful wedding day. Though I am local, most of our guests were from out-of-town. They also offer welcome boxes for guests which was a nice addition to the wedding. I cannot tell you how many guests told me how much they loved those boxes and how beautiful they were. I am forever grateful to the excellent service I received. My son's wedding was so memorable/spectacular, and I attribute this to the staff at All About Events!!

I have planned and organized meetings for up to 3,000 people for the last 30 years. I planned my older daughter's wedding for over 300. I was sure I could handle the planning for my younger daughter's wedding, too. I was wrong! Thank goodness I hired Carolyn. The wedding was held at a venue that hasn't hosted many weddings yielding many challenges. Carolyn helped to meet them all. From contacting the myriad of vendors to confirm details in the week prior to the wedding to handling emergencies like getting an aisle runner at the last minute when the one the florist delivered fell in a mud puddle, Carolyn and her team was incredible. They were incredibly professional, comforting, competent, creative and effective. There is no way the evening would have been a success without their help. Now that I know the difference, my only regret was not hiring them for the last wedding!
Carolyn and her excellent team from All About Events were absolutely amazing for my day-of wedding coordinator package!! Carolyn was extremely helpful and attentive to all details! Hiring her and her team was the best decision we made for the wedding. She made our special day perfect and run smoothly! Matt and Alison were extremely helpful too, they made sure all small details were completed appropriately and any issues were immediately resolved! They were so great and fun to work it, I highly recommend hiring them for your day!
We booked our second line parade through All About Events for our wedding on 5/23/15. I can honestly say that because of them, our wedding will be unforgettable! We had a lot of guests who had never been to New Orleans before and many did not even know what a second line was. Well they do now! We had a blast! I worked with Carolyn all year on the details, and she has been so great to work with. She responds very quickly to calls and emails, and always answered my questions thoroughly. She hired Kinfolk brass band for us and they were so entertaining and sounded great! Matt was who we worked with that day on site, and he was very punctual and great to work with as well! I would highly suggest All About Events to coordinate second lines or any other wedding event!
I found Carolyn, All About Events, through the web as I was desperately looking for a company or someone to make Welcome Bags for my wedding guests. I was running short on time and it was about a month before the wedding. I thought I would have to do it myself as I couldn't find anyone online. Luckily a friend told me it would be a lot of work, especially since it was a destination wedding (in New Orleans). So I did more Google searches and the universe was watching over me as I came across All About Events website. Carolyn got back to me right away. She was easy to communicate with through email, phone and text. I had my ideas of what I wanted in the Welcome Bags and she gave great suggestions, additions and guidance. I'm so happy I took her advice as some of the additions and suggestions she gave for the Welcome Bags were the biggest hit! She also made them Welcome BOXES to prevent hotel staff opening them. The Welcome Boxes for the wedding guests were GORGEOUS! She had white boxes with purple ribbon and elegant labels to match my wedding colors and theme. Guests couldn't stop raving about the Welcome Boxes! She really made my guests feel welcome and gave them a great introduction into New Orleans.
In addition to the boxes, I realized I needed someone to drop items off to the wedding venue and pick up items after the reception is over. She had one of her staff do that job, Matt. He was AWESOME also! He texted back quickly, came early to pick-up the items. When we came back to our room at the end of the night, he had delivered the items into our room and organized them nicely. He really went above and beyond. Also I realized after our second line that we would have to carry around our second-line umbrellas, which could not be closed. I called Matt to see if he was still in the area. I offered him extra money if he would please come back and pick-up the umbrellas and take them to our room; He saved us as he graciously came back!

Hiring Carolyn Arthurs, owner of All About Events, & her team for their full-service planning, was the absolute best decision we could have made in planning our wedding. Background- we planned a destination wedding in New Orleans (from the West Coast) in less than 2 MONTHS over the holiday season, with 100 guests coming in from all over the country. Neither of us has lived in NOLA, so we needed a planner well acquainted with the area, venues, vendors, etc.
Carolyn is extremely responsive, knowledgeable, has wonderful vendor recommendations, and is funny! Carolyn was truly there for us when problems arose (as they always do, especially w/ our short time line) and we really felt like she "had our backs". Carolyn’s knowledge helped us from being taking advantage of by certain local vendors (as it was, the only real issue we had was a vendor that I specifically chose; we did not have so much as a minor hiccup with Carolyn’s recommended vendors).
Carolyn’s recommended vendors that we ended up hiring (photography, DJ, Second Line Band, Guitarist for Ceremony Music, Cupcakes, Décor, etc.) were all amazing, professional, & within our budget. Carolyn also talked me off the ledge when I became overwhelmed w/ the process and made sure that I prioritized my time, energy & funds appropriately. Rhoda, Tasting Manager, was absolutely wonderful in helping with our menu planning for the wedding reception & other events over the weekend.
Our guests were BLOWN AWAY -Carolyn really got to known US which shined through in all of the details. Carolyn didn’t just broker everything out, but rather took the time to personally do things herself such as the welcome gift boxes for our guests (who are still raving about them- who ever remembers a gift box?! They were That Good). It was this kind of personal touch that separates AAE from other planners. The consensus from all of our guests was, "This was truly the Best Wedding EVER!!!”
I did not have a worry in the world the day of my wedding (except for rain/hair issues, ha) and literally had the BEST TIME. I am a crazy, OCD-style person, so this is quite a compliment coming from me (my husband can attest to this one). A Million Thank Yous to Carolyn, Rhoda, & the All About Events team... When can we throw our next party???!?!

From the beginning of the wedding planning process, Carolyn established rapport and mutual trust with us. She took us to a dozen venues in New Orleans and had unique ideas for our wedding! We chose All About Events because we felt comfortable with Carolyn and that her expertise in planning a destination wedding in New Orleans was un-paralleled.
Carolyn made herself available to us at any time and corresponded with us frequently. She helped us through the ups and downs of the wedding planning process. Rhoda was also wonderful with planning and negotiating our catering menu! By the time the big day arrived, everything was planned to a T.
On our wedding day, Carolyn was there as a coordinator and friend. She orchestrated our ceremony and reception beautifully and was always there when we needed something. From sewing on buttons, making sure we didn't step in manure during our second line parade, to giving us hugs before the ceremony, Carolyn was there leading the event.
Afterwards, friends approached us and said..."This was the best wedding EVER!", "We can't get married now because there is no way your wedding can be topped!", "We had so much fun at your wedding.", "This was better than any wedding I have ever been to!". As the bride and groom, we can also say that our wedding was magical, heartfelt, upbeat, and fun! All About Events is the way to go when planning your destination event in New Orleans.
I can't recommend Carolyn any higher. Let's be honest, I was probably not the easiest bride she has dealt with: I didn't have a clear idea on what exactly I wanted about anything; moreso I answered every question she had for me with a list of what I didn't want/wouldn't tolerate. Carolyn took this all in stride and worked with me to make sure everything ended up like the dream I never even realized I had! Two years later, I'm still amazed when I look at my wedding photos, and I can't take her efforts for granted. Despite my limited ability to articulate what I wanted, she always offered me a carefully curated selection of choices to choose from. I never felt rushed to make any decisions and I knew that I could be honest with her. In the end, I know that her expertise and excellence were what made my day a big success. She's awesome!
I worked with Rhoda Yawn and originally hired her as a day of coordinator - I was an out of town bride. It became clear as I started to plan the wedding that I was in over my head on some of the workings of a wedding - especially a destination wedding. Rhoda was so kind and so helpful and she gave me guidance and helped me find vendors that I hadn't checked off my list. I eventually added on additional services because it was clear that her help was needed and she had already proven to me that her skills were A+. She helped locate rehearsal dinner options, she got the permit for the second line and negotiated a price with the second line band, she helped me find a florist that was within my budget and that fit my vision. On the day before the wedding I hurt my neck and back - I could not believe this was happening. I showed up at my rehearsal walk-through and I cried. She helped keep me together and decided that it would be best for me to go relax and go get treatment. She assured me that it was a small enough wedding that everything was going to be ok and it was! Despite some vendor issues (she handled them) and despite my pain - It all came together!!!! The day of was spectacular and I can't thank her enough. I love Rhoda and I would recommend her to anyone. She even came with an assistant (Lisa I believe) and she was on point as well! They both made it amazing. Thanks Rhoda! Scott and I will never forget it!
First, If you're reading this because you're trying to decide if you want to hire a coordinator, I advise you to go through with it. Even if it's just for the day of the wedding (100 less things for you to worry about on your big day)....I highly suggest it and All About Events is the way to go!
It's been a little over a month since we've been married, and our wedding is still the talk of every gathering we have had with family and friends since then. Everything was perfect! I am not someone who knew what I wanted my wedding to be before I started planning which is why I contacted Carolyn in the first place to fully coordinate my big day. I really did not want to be stressed over wedding planning. Carolyn made it easy. I work a lot so her willingness to communicate via e-mail (she responded really fast) was just what I needed. She did everything from setting up meetings with vendors and negotiating contracts to mailing out invites. She even made calls to those guests who did not rsvp. This was big for me because the guest list was my biggest headache from the very beginning, and I was really just tired of looking at it by that time. Oh, she also planned my special presentation to my husband during the reception which was awesome! Week of wedding I received a really cool agenda which clearly listed vendor arrival times at the church and reception hall which I loved. I wasn't worried though because Carolyn is super efficient- I believe I only looked at the agenda on wedding day to refresh my memory as to what time the limos were coming to pick us up! Like I said, everything was perfect and the wedding started on time which is exactly what I wanted- my guests were extremely impressed by this! I've had so many people tell me that they have NEVER been to a wedding where everything just flowed so nicely. I truly believe that I made the right choice with All About Events. AAE had our best interest at heart the whole time!Thank you Carolyn, Matthew(probably one of the flyest guys you will ever meet), and Rhoda! We will never forget what you have done for us! Carolyn and her crew are fantastic. I opted for her full package, to make my worried mother happy, but thought I could have handled more myself. But now I would not have done it any other way. I had no idea what all goes into it, and planning from afar is just too much. Carolyn stuck to my budget, sometimes making things herself to save cost, and negotiated lower costs for everything. She also kept us on a timeline so I never felt nervous I was forgetting anything. Her taste is impeccable. She is professional but also a blast and I hope to stay in touch with her long after my wedding. Getting closer to the day, she enlisted help to make sure everything was covered, so we had the privilege of working with the amazing Rhoda as well. I cannot say enough about these women. And I was so happy to know that while Rhoda was with me at the ceremony, cueing everything and making it seamless, Carolyn was at the reception site making sure it was ready and perfect. If you have these two ladies orchestrating your event, it will turn out better than you could dream for yourself.
It has taken me far too long to put into words how wonderful it was to work with Carolyn and her team at All About Events to create our wedding. I was familiar with AAE, but I had no idea what an incredible level of service and attention to detail there would be until I experienced it myself as a first-time bride.
Carolyn is a specialist when it comes to “destination New Orleans.” Nearly all of my husband’s family and more than half our guests traveled from outside the state. Carolyn was so helpful, particularly in guiding my new in-laws in finding accommodations that suited their needs. She even suggested a local place to eat when all the family got into town, and then helped me plan a terrific New Orleans-themed “pop-up” rehearsal dinner within my in-law’s budget.
As far as the wedding itself, we had only two demands: the food and the music had to be fantastic. My husband and I felt it was very important to represent our city in the best way possible for our guests. Carolyn has professional relationships with some of the top vendors in town. Three different chefs created wonderful food for our rehearsal dinner, wedding, and brunch, and three different styles of musicians provided the entertainment for each event. Our guests still rave about the food and the music.
Carolyn set up appointments around my schedule for me to do tastings, choose invitations, and even found a florist who was willing to re-interpret my mother’s 1965 bridal bouquet but build it into a coffee mug as a handle. The vendors we chose were all people who spoke highly of Carolyn and AAE, and were very open to taking creative leaps with us. Carolyn was also very understanding and diplomatic when it came to the difficult decisions. As I was an older bride, I wasn’t finding anything “off the rack” that suited me. I was becoming stressed and Carolyn really eased my mind. She reminded me that this should be fun and that it was our wedding and no customs, rules, or other people’s expectations applied. She created a lovely little area at the reception of mementos of my late Mother as she knew how much it meant to me that she be included. Creativity was key in making our day so unique and special, so “us.”
Carolyn anticipated needs I would not have thought of at all, no matter how many books and websites I read on the subject of planning a wedding. She reminded me that as creative as I am, it was okay to let other people take care of things (like make-up and hair!) Carolyn worked with us to stay on budget, created allowances in case of need (that got us the tent for a last-minute threat of rain) and, best of all, she stuck to our budget. But Carolyn often went beyond duty, taking calls from my in-laws and gift questions from guests. Carolyn’s planning helped us have the wedding we wanted and so much more. It was a magical day in a lovely venue, with fantastic music and food, and special unique touches like my gown, bouquet, the mismatched, antique, crystal-candlestick centerpieces, the elegant place settings, the shimmering ambiance… everything was so thoughtfully planned and executed. I am having a very small (approx. 20-25 guest) Vow Renewal in New Orleans during Mardi Gras 2014, I am an out-of-town bride and have been planning this event for a few months. I started feeling a bit overwhelmed trying to figure out the logistics of getting supplies there, setting up the venue on the day of the renewal and finding the best vendors that fit within my budget. After reading many blogs with brides having trouble finding planners willing to work with small weddings, I was afraid that I would face the same problem. I decided to reach out to All About Events for help. Rhoda Dianne Yawn sent me an email to let me know that she was available on the date that I requested. She didn't mind working with the small event and quoted me an excellent price! Unfortunately, after already spending most of my budget on the other parts of the wedding, I wasn't able to find the extra money in my budget to work with Rhoda. I contacted her to let her know that I could not use her services. I felt really bad and nervous about my renewal plans. Rhoda totally understood my situations, offered words of comfort to let me know things would work out and that I would be okay! She took the time to give me some vendor contacts for cakes and flowers, even though I could not afford to secure her services!! This is a top notch business and Rhoda Dianne Yawn is awesome!!
Carolyn and the All About Events (AAE) team are fantastic! We hired AAE for their full service wedding planning and it was the best decision we could have made. I would recommend Carolyn and her team to anyone looking to plan an event in the New Orleans area.
I am originally from the New Orleans area, but now reside in San Francisco. Both my husband and I have very busy schedules and we knew we needed someone to drive the entire wedding planning process. There are a few reasons why I think AAE was a fantastic choice:
1) Vendor Selection – AAE works with the best vendors in the area. Carolyn gave us a solid selection of vendors for each category (florist, venue, music, etc.) and we picked from there. It was easy! For our wedding, Carolyn and her team had a working relationship with everyone so she understood their style, process, and timing. You will directly benefit from her strong relationships.
2) Event Design – I had a general idea of what I wanted but really didn’t want to get bogged down into a lot of detailed choices. Carolyn was great with taking my ideas and running them, or coming up with great suggestions. She is very detail oriented and really executed on our vision.
3) Details you didn’t know you had to think of – there were so many details that we didn’t even have on our list of “to do’s”. Carolyn was great at bringing things to our attention or giving us suggestions that were invaluable in making everything come together.
4) No stress the day of! – Carolyn and the AAE team took care of everything the day of our wedding. The day’s events just seemed to flow one into the other, and I didn’t have to worry about any of the details/logistics. I am sure that there were a lot of things going on “behind the scenes” but I was able to just enjoy the day with my husband, soak up the details and spend time with my family and friends. I truly was able to enjoy the day’s events as much as my guests.
Carolyn, and everyone at All About Events, were a dream come true! I cannot say enough good things about the service I received. I needed a full service wedding planner for my New Orleans event, so I started my search. Immediately after my first meeting with Carolyn & Rhoda I knew I had found my wedding planner. Down and earth, honest and professional. They made me feel at ease from the minute we met. And if you are getting married, trust me, you need someone to keep you calm. It can be so overwhelming, and Carolyn really takes control. All the vendors suggested turned out great. I even dropped the ball on picking a band, but Carolyn went ahead and chose for me, and they were FANTASTIC! They work to really know your personality and style. Lots of emails and text messages kept me in-touch and on track as to what was going on. Texts were even answered at 2 am when I had a new crazy idea! I had nothing to worry about the day of my wedding either. I feel as if Carolyn would have placed every blade of grass in the same direction if it would have been necessary for the reception to be perfect. She is that good at making sure everything is the way you want and the way it needs to be.
Carolyn was also available to both my family members and my new in-laws. My mother and father talked to her frequently. She helped my sister/maid-of-honor plan my bachelorette party. And my in-laws got all the help they needed in planning the rehearsal dinner, which was also amazing.
If I haven't said enough to good things, then here is the last. Carolyn and her wonderful company, All About Events, were the best wedding decision I ever made. Stress-free, organized, and professional... I couldn't ask for anything more.
Carolyn, Rhoda, and Alexis made my dream wedding come true! I am over the moon with ALL ABOUT EVENTS and would recommend them to any bride or event host. Always available to answer any question, flexible with vendors and meeting times, and full of recommendations and suggestions make this team the entire package. The day of my wedding, I was not worried or stressed about anything! All I had to do was get ready and beautified for my special day. If any issue arose, I didn't know about it, for they were there to take care of all the details. The day was right out of a fairy tale and I have ALL ABOUT EVENTS to thank for that. Carolyn is completely qualified to handle any situation; she is extremely knowledgeable about everything involved in weddings from flower arrangements to photographers to ideas about what unique item to add to the gift bags. Rhoda is always available to bounce ideas off of for what delicious food and drinks would best relay my wedding theme and has a huge heart and sense of humor. Alexis was available the day of my wedding to help with anything that I needed (she brought me some crackers as I requested and was so thoughtful in bringing me some ginger ale in case I needed it). These event planners are on top of anything you can think of! I can't thank you enough AAE!!!

We opted for her Management and Day of Coordination package. I probably asked many more questions than I should have, but she always responded promptly and with a complete answer. The best part about her is her dedication and no BS attitude. She's not at all fake, or a wanting to get your business then fall off the face of the earth type person, and she really exceeded our every expectation.
The week of was extremely hectic since we were coming from out of town. Carolyn was in constant email contact making sure all the details were in place. She set up all the things I didn't think of, like to-go drinks for our second line, and she personally made my umbrella, which turned out absolutely amazing (she should run a side business!). Our guestbook had a photo of the band we had for our second line (she also set up our contract with them), and we asked her if they might be able to sign the page, and
she made sure that it happened.
From commandeering a rehearsal including a groomsmen lovingly nicknamed "Crazy Mike", and a missing bridesmaid, to accommodating last second mother of the groom processional requests, she was on top of everything. I arrived at the venue day of and by the time my hair and makeup were done and we went downstairs to shoot bridals, the previously bare house and courtyard were being completely transformed. She kept us on schedule all night and didn't miss a beat. Her assistant, Rhoda, prepared a spread for our vegan groomswoman which was out of this world.
Even the next morning, she took the time to answer my texts on where things were. We ran into her as she was doing a tour on our way out of the venue, and she was completely relaxed and refreshed as we recounted some of the events from the reception.
Carolyn is extremely knowledgeable on NOLA weddings, and she's also worked events in LA, so you really get the best of both worlds. I would definitely recommend her for any event. We absolutely hope that she is still around in a few years when we start planning our anniversary party...
I was recently married on August 6, 2011, and I hired Carolyn Arthurs and All About Events to be my full service coordinator. Carolyn is absolutely wonderful, is very well respected by vendors in New Orleans, and has a long history of planning events and weddings. She held my hand through any and every decision I asked her assistance on. In addition, she kept me on track of what and when I needed to be doing things for the wedding. Carolyn is also very well connected in the party planning industry. Consequently, she was able to give me several different options for each different category of vendors and for bands, etc. Without her, I do not think I would have been capable of finding out and accessing these vendors myself. She has a very easy going personality, yet is professional, timely, and responsive in all circumstances. In addition, she is affordable and worth every penny! She is a dream come true for a bride planning her wedding, especially when the bride is not from New Orleans as I was not. I would recommend her to any and every bride out there. I interviewed several different wedding planners and none were of her caliber. Carolyn has vision, knew stylistically how I was and adapted to my desires and needs, and never pushed something on me that wasn't something I wanted. I heard from many of my guests...this is the best wedding I have ever been too and I credit this to her!!!
Carolyn Arthurs, of All About Events, served as our wedding planner over an 11 month period with utmost personal attention throughout our many visits to New Orleans, often going way above and beyond her duties. She is a very savvy-businesswoman with extraordinary personal abilities. Her comprehensive knowledge of wedding and reception planning combined with her vast selection of vendors and contacts, proved to be the foundation for the tremendous success of our wedding celebration.
Carolyn, along with her many capable assistants, guided the bride and groom, and their entire wedding parties, throughout the wedding day with scheduled precision for all hair, makeup, photography, etc. She arranged for all transportation for more than 200 people to the church, then all were transported to a spectacular reception. The majority of our guests stated "this was the best wedding they had ever attended"! I don't believe I have ever seen a happier bride or more fun wedding and we are forever grateful to her for our treasured memories and experience!

Without Carolyn, I don't think that we would have been deemed as "The best wedding we have ever been to" by pretty much EVERY SINGLE attendee at the wedding.
My planner made my destination wedding unique and creative. Every time I wanted to do something unique, off-the-wall, or just plain made-up Carolyn helped me make that happen.
My cake samples were sent to my home, my food was specifically themed to me, and was amazing.
And like any bride, my Mother had a completely different wedding in mind and Carolyn made sure I got the one I wanted, while balancing the demands of Mom.
She was beyond worth every penny, and when I forgot to order a bouquet for the bouquet toss, she had one beautifully fashioned on the spot by the time of the toss.
If you use her, you can have your day, and it will be so far beyond what you imagined.
I tried AAE out while planning a destination wedding from Washington DC. Intially, the meet up and a few phone conversations were great. However, after a few months, and a few months of being a stressed/and I must admit high maintenance bride, the service just didn't work out for me. Carolyn was very responsive to emails, but didn't really execute as expected. Management and consulting package didn't include a "rolodex" only email threads of contacts - sometimes making the planning harder as I had to search for phone numbers. Lack of inspiration boards made it difficult to visualize the few concepts suggested. Catering relationship made for uncomfortable decision making/ led to believe possible conflict of interest. List goes on.
In my opinion, started off strong - ended weak.
Carrie did a fabulous job. She was creative and well connected. And quite a hoot. Our guests said it was the best wedding they had ever attended. Planning was a breeze and we had a fabulous, stress free wedding day.
We really appreciate the wedding outcome. Many said it was the best wedding they had ever attended. The benefit of Carolyn's knowledge & advice was evident, and she kept us from the typical arguments between everyone who had a stake in the event. The food was the best ...except I was so busy socializing, I didn't get to taste everything. Best wishes to All About Events throughout 2011 & beyond.
Today is actually my wedding day, but I wanted to be sure to post my review. Carolyn has been very helpful throughout the planning process. I planned my wedding from Cincinnati, and had my share of freak out moments throughout the process. Carolyn was very organized and on top of all of the details. Couldn't have done it without her! I would highly recommend her to all couples.
