Alluring did a good job overall, but didn’t exceed my expectations. I got married 4 weeks ago & waited to reflect before writing. With their help, I had a great day, but afterward, I was stressed due to logistical issues I wasn’t prepared for. What they did well: The reception setup looked beautiful! The timeline they created helped the day flow smoothly, so I never worried about being behind schedule. They combined their decor with mine, & the result looked better than I expected. I was stressed about cupcake pickup, & they kindly offered to handle it for me. They also dropped off my florals the next day to the preservation vendor, which was above & beyond what I expected. Chris was especially helpful before the wedding since I handled most preparations alone—my wedding party & family were out of state. She offered to pick up decorations on the wedding day when we ran behind in the final week. Both Sarah & Chris were kind and encouraging when I was stressed leading up to the wedding. Areas for improvement: Communication between the two coordinators could have been much better. When I arrived at the venue, the head table was set up incorrectly—it was the default “king’s table” instead of the sweetheart table I requested. Thankfully, I arrived early and fixed it. They suggested using the DJ’s speakers for cocktail hour & implied they had coordinated this beforehand. However, when we spoke with the DJ two days before, he was confused & said he wasn’t contracted until 5 pm & using his equipment earlier would cost extra—this was never communicated by the coordinators. When I arrived, I saw chair stashes at the venue (which I had declined- the quote was $700). Chris said it was a surprise gift, but when I thanked Sarah, she seemed confused. Chris then asked me not to tell Sarah since she hadn’t been informed. This lack of transparency made me uncomfortable. The table setup was another disappointment. I wanted tables separated & arranged wider, but they were lined up in a row. I gave them the benefit of the doubt, but they didn’t check the seating chart I provided with exact seat counts. Sarah sent me a Canva seating chart to edit, which I adjusted to fit the venue’s capacity. Still, guests told me they had no seats at the reception because the setup didn’t match the chart. Luckily, some guests sat upstairs, but this was avoidable. The biggest stress was cleaning. My husband and I thought the coordinators would return in their last 30 mins to handle cleanup, especially since Chris reassured me they could direct others. Instead, we cleaned ourselves after the sendoff. Our MOH called Chris about decorations, and Chris said we could drop them off at her place nearby. This wasn’t communicated earlier, so we scrambled & Ubered decorations late at night. Also, no one returned to pick up the “surprise” chairs or gave instructions about them. We missed the venue’s cleaning deadline, risking a $200 fee, but thankfully the venue was understanding. The next day was chaotic. I wasn’t told where the cake was stored, so I had to call the venue. The bottom tier, meant for family, was put away without informing me. I also scrambled to handle decor returns because the coordinators wanted us to drop them off. I was very lucky to have a type-A MOH who fixed many issues Sarah and Chris missed. (e.g. she told coordinators to tell guests to be quiet during my dad’s speech because they didn’t intervene.) Overall: Sarah & Chris fulfilled the contract. My main complaint is their communication & organization, which needs improvement. They did a good job but weren’t outstanding, reflecting the 3-star rating (average) due to poor communication avoidable issues.
