Altared Weddings did a fantastic job with adding supplemental lighting and ambiance to our wedding. They were able to build on to the existing wooden event structure to add custom lighting - when we worked with them on the contract we told them the aesthetic we were looking for and our rough budget, and they made it happen. They were one of the first vendors to arrive on the wedding day, and didn't require any assistance or input on executing the plan, which made everything less stressful.

We hired Altared for our Wedding this past November and knew that we would need a professional. It was an evening wedding, starting at 6pm at the LBJ Wildflower Center, meaning the entire event would be held after the sunset. We didn't have the biggest budget to work with but Altared took incredible care of us. They knew what we'd be needing for the ceremony, cocktail hour and dinner and even were able to send me example pictures of the ideas they'd already used at previous events at our own venue. They nailed our goal of having a candlelit, romantic, elegant atmosphere and I can't recommend them highly enough.

We booked Altared for dance floor lighting and a disco ball for our Allan House wedding in December! Coordination with Crystal, our account manager, was so easy. She answered all of our questions promptly and professionally and made several quotes for us while we were figuring out what we needed for lighting. Installation was easy, and all of their equipment was in place before we arrived to our venue. Altared’s lighting absolutely made our dance floor experience so much more fun and memorable! Altared provided excellent, excellent, excellent service to us for our wedding lighting! Since we didn't know very much about lighting, we must have asked them a THOUSAND questions and sent them a THOUSAND emails throughout the wedding planning process and they were always *so* incredibly patient with us and never made us feel rushed or pressured. We rented their gorgeous Moravian Stars for our reception tent and they looked absolutely STUNNING!!! We loved, loved, loved how sleek and unique they looked during the day and during the night…what can I say? They glowed so warmly and made the whole space so rich and cozy!! It was the perfect choice for our wedding and working with Altared was such a genuine joy. They are so reliable and lovely and we are so grateful to them.

We used Altared Weddings for our lighting and MirroMe photobooth at our wedding. Shelly and Scott were professional, kind, and easy to work with. I knew nothing about lighting going into this, but they were so patient and helpful every step of the way. Everything came out beautiful! The MirrorMe photobooth was a HUGE hit! Our guests loved it. We also received a digital copy of every photo so it's almost like having a photo guestbook. Scott made sure my husband and I took a photo before the end of the night, which I am so thankful for because we would have forgotten if he hadn't done that. I highly recommend Altared Weddings for any event :)

We used Altared Weddings for our DJ service, up lights, and photo booth. Scott and Shelly are so sweet and fun. They managed the photo booth and really got our guests engaged. We had a small hiccup with the DJ but Shelly was quick to provide resolution. The mirror me photo booth was a big hit with our guests. DJ David really kept the party going. He was very helpful with some of our songs selection, especially with Vietnamese songs which is more difficult. Overall, super fun and successful party thanks to everyone at Altared Weddings.

We used Altared for lighting services for our wedding at the Allan House. Working with Shelly was seamless - she was kind, responsive and easy to work with. 1.5 months before our wedding day, some unforeseen infrastructure challenges came up that impeded the ability to hang chandeliers as planned. The Altared team worked with the venue to come up with a creative solution to make sure that upcoming events could have their beautiful lighting in place. Altared also allows couples to split rentals with people having events in the same weekend. They made the splitting process seamless and helped us save money while having the chandelier-adorned courtyard wedding of our dreams!

The whole process was a breeze and everyone raved about our twinkle lights at our wedding!! It made the night so magical.

They super last minute agreed to instal drapes on the ceiling of our wedding venue after our original plan fell through. They did a wonderful job and Scott is really talented and cares a lot about making your wedding perfect. They went our of their way to make sure it looked beautiful. The draping really added a lot to our space and made it look so soft and dreamy. I'm so thankful for them!

We reached out to various vendors for our lighting needs. I knew Altared Weddings and Events were the ones as soon as I got on a consult call with Shelly (owner). Not only was she an absolute sweetheart on the phone, but understood my vision for lighting at my wedding. As soon as we got off of the phone, she emailed me with various sketches of what we had talked about and what she was thinking with her expertise. She also sent me photos of previous weddings they had used the lights/concepts we had discussed. Her and her team were prompt at answering my questions, and getting back to me. The lighting at our wedding turned out to go above and beyond what we were expecting. I highly recommend working with them, not only on your lighting needs but any other services they offer.

Thank you Altared for making my wedding look magical! The team was so easy to work with and was knowledgeable about how many lights to get to make the space look good. They set up string lights and up lights around the room. The pictures came out amazing, and I can’t thank them enough for their work!!

SO AWESOME! DJ Mikka stepped in last minute for us and he was wonderful. Super flexible, patient, understanding and helpful. He even called us on our way out to Wimberley, to finalize the details of the music for the cocktail hour and reception since we just weren't able to get together (I teach and my husband's in the Oilfield.) We pretty much just gave him the reigns since he had pre-made mixes that went along with our taste and plenty of questions for the shoe game, making it that much easier on us and we could not have been happier. Recommend 100%.

We used Altared for twinkle lights in the canopy of our wedding tent and couldn't have been happier. Pricing was more reasonable compared to other lighting companies and the lighting really added such a special touch for all of our night photos! Thank y'all!

We loved our experience with Altared Weddings and Events! Their questionnaires are very specific and allow you to choose your own music, give the DJ creative freedom, or a combination of both. They reached out to us in the weeks/days leading up to the wedding to make sure we were all good, and answered our questions quickly. DJ Mikka was INCREDIBLE. We gave him our music list and he managed to play every one of our favorite songs in a way that flowed well and kept the good vibes rolling all night. The dancefloor was never empty. He was professional, responsive, fun and kind. I highly highly recommend him for your DJ needs!! We also opted for the mirror photo booth which was a GREAT call. We were worried about keeping the few kids at our wedding entertained, and this definitely did the trick. The adults loved it too! I'd give 10 stars if I could.

We used Altared Weddings & Events for our lighting, AV and DJ for our wedding. They were super responsive throughout the process and made everything so easy during planning. They showed up on time and completed everything to our expectations. DJ Andrew was awesome and made the reception a hit for everyone! We hired Altared Weddings & Events to provide custom chandeliers and uplighting at our wedding venue. They were both friendly and very professional - and I appreciated that they were willing to come out to the venue beforehand to brainstorm different options that could work best for us.

Altared events did a great job DJ-ing at our wedding. Our guests were on the floor the whole night. Altared provided a speaker and a mic outside for our ceremony and then all the necessary equipment inside for a great dance party. Thanks guys!

Shelly saved the day for us when we had a last-minute need for a lighting vendor. She was kind, professional, and responsive, and we were thrilled with the results. She could have gouged us (as a number of others tried to do) when we were desperate, but she didn't. The lighting was gorgeous (no photos back yet to show you!). We could not have gotten luckier.

Robert was our DJ and he was amazing! The reason for the 4 stars is because the DJ we originally had canceled on us 3 days before the wedding due to an emergency (we weren't given any other explanation). However, Altared Weddings was great at handling this situation and were able to find a DJ we had requested (Bilingual - English/Spanish). The stress from our original DJ dropping out days before the wedding was painful, but thankfully, Altared Weddings was able to fill his spot with such short notice.

If you need rentals in Austin, Shelly is your go-to! I wanted a surprise confetti cannon for the dance floor and Shelly worked with me to determine a solution that fit my limited budget. And when COVID schedule changes left me without linens or a display for my seating chart, Shelly said "I can do that!" and showed up with beautiful ivory linens and the perfect copper stand for me. Reasonable prices, wonderful & reliable people -- can't beat either of those descriptions in a wedding vendor. Please reach out to Altared for your wedding! You won't be disappointed.

Ricardo was AMAZING!!!! He was able to meet our guest music needs and kept everyone days until 1am!!! You definitely want to have him at your event!

Altared Weddings & Events is incredible. I absolutely loved having them apart of my day. Their team custom made props to hold chandeliers and they were beyond beautiful. They are very quick to respond (which is so valuable during wedding planning) and truly are invested in making your wedding the best day ever. Their team was available to meet at the venue upon my request and patiently talked through multiple options for my wedding ceremony lighting set up. The ceremony on the day of ended up being rained out - BUT their team was determined to use what we had to make the ceremony inside as beautiful as it could be. Let me tell you - my ceremony/reception spaced was so, so beautiful!!!! I could not be happier with Altared Weddings. Shelly and Scott Cole are super responsive and helped me put together beautiful lighting for our wedding. DJ David was also fantastic - executed the ceremony music we provided beautifully and selected great choices for the dinner and dancing afterward. Everyone had a great time!

I hired Altared Events for a small job, to string lights at a small outdoor wedding on the upper lawn at Mercury Hall. The technician did a perfect job. Before hanging them, he laid out the strings on the grass until they were just the way I wanted them. He hung them from tree to tree instead of the poles, per my request. He also helped us move a heavy speaker just because he was a very nice, kind, friendly person (Galen?). I did not realize I needed to be there to oversee the job, but Shelly coordinated with me that morning and the technician arrived early so that we were able to meet. I certainly recommend being there to give input and get things just as you like them. We also needed a particular size of table and Altared Events was able to provide it. Shelly was wonderful to work with, very responsive and patient during challenging times. I would definitely use Altared Events again in the future.

The Altared team was absolutely the best! I appreciated their clear communication and exceptional preparedness throughout the process. I have been to plenty of weddings where people don't dance and had low expectations since we were doing a brunch wedding/afternoon reception. Wow was I surprised! DJ Andrew Brown had the crowd dancing in the middle of the afternoon! Incredibly impressed and so thankful we were fortunate to work with them for our wedding. Definitely recommend!

DO NOT HIRE Altared Weddings & Events. Our wedding was cancelled due to COVID-19 as Texas state mandated no social gatherings. ALL of our vendors EXCEPT Altared Weddings and its owner, Shelly Cole, worked with us. They refuse to give us our deposit back, our venue was closed due to COVID-19. We hired Altared Weddings' sister company (same owner), Short & Sweet Weddings for officiating services and asked for the Altared Weddings deposit to be applied to pay the remaining officiating services balance. Instead they said NO, you have to hire officiating services through Altared Weddings and pay higher rate of $400, instead of respecting the Short & Sweet Weddings rate of $250. Mind you this is the same owner. Who does this, specially during times like these?!? We have asked our very popular Austin, TX wedding venue to take Altared Weddings & Events off of their recommended venue list.

We hired Altared Weddings and Events in December 2019 to provide a photobooth for the wedding of our dreams in Fredericksburg, Texas on April 4, 2020. We paid them a total of $1039.20 across two payments. By March 17th, 2020 it became clear that state and local laws in Texas were going to render our wedding illegal as a result of the COVID 19 pandemic and we notified all of our vendors and guests to that end in order to reduce real losses and inconveniences as early as we could. We reached out to try to gather refunds from all of our vendors whom we had already prepaid for services, since they were no longer legally able to deliver them under the crowd size, travel, essential business, and other COVID-related emergency regulations. Altared Events responded to our inquiry first by letting us know that they had spoken to their lawyer, and they had determined that it was fair to treat this disaster as a voluntary cancellation on our part. They went on to explain how since their contract doesn’t include a force majeure clause, they don’t have an obligation to refund us anything – but out of the goodness of their hearts (I presume,) they offered to refund us $519.60, half of what we had paid them, via check, with no timeframe for when we could expect it. We were outraged, to say the least, that they tried to spin this disaster as a voluntary cancellation on our part – nothing could be further from the truth. We desperately wanted to move forward with our wedding. And greeting us with a reply from _their lawyer_ as the first response? We already felt devastated over the loss of our wedding – Shelly from Altared Events made us feel totally dehumanized with her response. I can’t begin to tell you how devastated we are – we’re not going to try to reschedule a 96-person wedding because let’s face it, as of writing this we aren’t even legally allowed to have more than 10 in one location. We don’t know what the future holds. My husband and I are going to elope and start our family plan as soon as possible – since there’s no foreseeable way to reschedule a large event of any kind in this environment. Other vendors refunded us most of what we’d paid them, unprompted, and never insulted us by spinning this disaster as a voluntarily cancellation or rationalizing with their contract we they should walk away with thousands of our dollars for a service they couldn’t perform. In the case of Altared Events, we had to engage in a credit card chargeback with them – and even after they said they weren’t going to fight us for the balance they went ahead and fought the credit card chargeback anyway. We were devastated by the COVID19 pandemic and the emergency measures our government has taken to combat it ruining our wedding – we’re extremely disappointed and upset with wedding vendors like Altared Events who have chosen to spin this as a voluntary cancellation and insist on keeping money for services they know they couldn’t deliver because of those very same laws. Shame on them. I’d never recommend doing business with Altared Weddings & Events in the Hill Country or Austin area. NOTE: we’ll update our review as our dispute with Altared Events evolves, hopefully, towards an amicable resolution.

They were amazing. So thankful for their awesome lights. Scott went beyond my expectations. We had so many compliments that this was by far the most beautiful wedding people had ever attended. Thank u guys for being a part of this special day.

Altared weddings, and especially their DJ Mikka were a lifesaver for us. Initially we hired a DJ who nearly ruined our wedding (Made From Skratch; Andrew Trevino). After he stole our money, we felt despondent and panicked. Luckily, my wife's parents jumped in and helped us in securing Altared weddings to jump in. DJ Mikka from our first conversation to our walk-off firework send off was in my mind, the finest and nicest dude and best DJ I've ever had the pleasure to know. He was so easy to work with. Absurdly flexible regarding last minute requests. He made it so easy, sending our playlist, or 'journey' as he called it and editing it w/ the exact songs we wanted. He also threw in a few amazing songs as well. He did not stress at all w/ any changes, and instead brought an energy of pure joy and familiarity. I really can't rave enough about Mikka. The music sounded great, and he was a fantastic MC. The lights were flawless. He kept everyone dancing. You can't ask for more. Don't be like us and waste time hiring an unreliable and unprofessional DJ , instead book Altared DJs ASAP, and ask for Mikka;)

Altered Events was the most fabulous company to hire. I SERIOUSLY have no regrets!! They exceeded every expectation I had, their lighting was magical, the owner came to the walkthrough at our venue and was so attentive!! We hired a mirror me booth set up and they gave us a guest photo book to take home after and it’s one of my cherished gifts. Andrew was by far the BEST DJ we could have hoped for!! He was so accommodating and even took the time to text and take some phone calls with me and execute all of my fiancé’s and my weird requests!! He had such a great and upbeat personality and vibe, everything was played on time and to a T what we envisioned!! We feel like we are so lucky!! We also got chandeliers for our tent through their company and they really tied the look together! On the dance floor all the lighting was exactly what we wanted, and we got props from them for guests to dance with and everyone loved them!! I think I danced with a prop taco and light in my hand for half the night 😂 I am overjoyed, music and lights were something that was so important to us and it was PERFECT! Altared Weddings was helpful from our initial contact. Their detailed questionnaire addressed most possible questions or concerns we might have and they reached out to confirm details and make sure they provided exactly what we wanted. The Amber uplighting was perfect in our venue. The string quartet played everything we wanted - even learning numerous special requests. DJ David kept everyone dancing and having a great time!

We used Altared for lighting, DJ and the mirror photobooth. The lighting turned out perfect and beautiful! We had a string light wall behind the DJ, and uplights by the doors. DJ David was AMAZING. He played our chosen songs and other great ones that went with the vibe. He MC'd the night in a seamless and fun way and was always great with communication during the process. Shelly manned the photobooth and was so sweet! I'm so happy she pulled us away at the end of the night to make sure we got a picture for our photobook she created. I will definitely be using Altared for future events and recommending them to everyone I know.

Okay AWE is so so great!! Ricardo was our DJ and the amount of compliments I received about the music was overwhelming! My people love to get down and have a good time! Never a dead moment, it was a blast! We also used AWE for uplighting and yard games. The musicians for our ceremony were lovely as well. My day would not have been as perfect without Altered and for that I am so thankful!

DJ Andrew Brown was THE BEST DJ!!! Dancing for over 2 hours straight was one of my favorite moments of our wedding. He listened to our song requests and knew how to keep the party going. I would absolutely recommend him to anyone looking for a great DJ.

We absolutely loved working with the Altared team! We chose Altared for the ease of bundling my dj, ceremony music, and photobooth. They were all awesome! We had DJ Davin! He did an awesome job of keeping the party going and was super easy to work with! We had a call with him to get to know each other prior to the wedding and then used the portal to confirm all our songs. He followed it perfectly and kept the dance floor full! We highly recommend him and this company!

DJ Jeremy was the best choice for our wedding. He was personal, professional, and always kept the dance floor packed. You could tell right away that he was family oriented and always had mine and the brides best interest in mind when people requested songs.

Highly recommend Altared (especially Jason Farmer!) We saw Jason at a friends wedding and knew he would be the perfect DJ for our wedding. He kept the party going (major props to Jason!) - the dance floor was never empty! We got a lot of compliments on the music and how fun the reception was! We gave him a few songs to play and he filled in the rest perfectly. Jason, and Altared were great to work with. Very professional, responsive and helpful. Jason was a really nice guy - helpful from the first phone call till the end of the reception.

DJ Ricardo was absolutely incredible! We were the most nervous about the DJ because we know it is the single most important part of the wedding and for us, it was particularly stressful because we wanted to a mix of Mexican, American and Jewish music. DJ Ricardo did an incredible job of mixing everything up really well and everyone was dancing the whole entire time. It was PERFECT in every way.

We highly recommend DJ David at Altared Wedding Productions. He was easy to work with and everything went very smoothly. He had a quick response time and the payment system was easy to use. They were very thorough and sent through a questionnaire so that they could individually adapt their services to suit our style. He promptly answered all our questions and was in constant contact with our wedding planner to ensure the sound systems and lighting on the day were ready to go. As for the actual wedding reception, David was polite and personable, he did a great job in parts where he needed to address the crown and provide directions. The music was fabulous - The dance floor was going off! Thank you!!

Professional and responsive from day one! Their client portal and questionnaire make the preparations and payment process streamlined. I really enjoyed having DJ Jeremy at our wedding, he was very personable, paid attention to my requests (likes/dislikes), and my guests loved him! I also used Altared weddings for my lighting services and everything was exactly how I wanted. The iron chandeliers were perfect for our ceremony the uplighting was beautiful inside our venue!

I have nothing but good things to say about these vendors! They traveled all the way to Poteet, Tx to do our wedding. They went over and beyond for us, and our guest had an absolute blast at the photo booth! A family of ours used them prior to us booking with them, and they did such a good job at their wedding that we decided to try to book with them also! I highly recommend them!

We recently had the pleasure of working with DJ Jeremy Odom at our wedding in Austin, TX and can't say enough good things about his service. Jeremy was professional and answered every single question we had and then he customized our wedding reception to be the perfect mix for all of our guests. He made the entire evening so much fun and truly memorable for all who attended. Altered Events was also incredibly easy to work with from booking to planning and payment to the final days up to our event. We would definitely hire them again (especially Jeremy!).

Absolutely loved working with this company. Word of advice: just trust them. They know what they're doing. Halfway through our 1.5 year engagement, our assigned technician left and we got a new technician. This transition was extremely smooth, the new technician proved herself to be extremely knowledgable and trustworthy. They were extremely professional and created a world of lights that was beyond my imagination! Everything glowed in the most beautiful way. For budget reasons, we ordered some lights online. Altered was extremely understanding and gracious about this and even helped the planner hang these. Altered provided lights that were gorgeous and awe-inspiring, but were not in the way. Their lights were for beauty and functionality but there were no loose chords, poles in line of sight, nothing. I don't know how they pulled it off but I would strongly recommend them to EVERYONE.

We used Jeremy as our DJ, and he was phenomenal! When I say people were dancing the ENTIRE night, I am not exaggerating. I grew up dancing and was on dance team in college, so having people sit around was a nightmare I had several times during the wedding planning process. I wasted energy with that worry. Jeremy was such an expert. When we had our week-before call, I could tell that he'd thoroughly read through our preference list, as he had intelligent questions and a few suggestions. The flow of the night was wonderful, and none of my wants were ignored. One thing that really stood out to me, in a great way, was a night-of-request I had. My MOH and I requested a song, and Jeremy was not afraid to tell me that it wouldn't flow right then, but that he'd have it on within 2-3 songs. I loved that he used his expertise to keep the night on track...afterall, he's the expert! That's why you hire a pro! Fun is still one of the first words my guest use to describe my wedding, a month later, and Altared Weddings is a MAJOR part of that. You will not be disappointed, hiring them!!

We booked Altared Weddings from a preferred vendor list from our venue, and we couldn't have been happier! Altared Weddings provided the music for our ceremony and our reception. We chose to have a brunch wedding (in our opinion, the best meal of the day) and we were worried that it would be too early for our guests to get into the party spirit. We needn't have worried, Ricardo did a fantastic job reading the crowd and getting everyone dancing! Apparently, our guests are ballroom dancers, soul train enthusiasts, and Michael Jackson impersonators. Who knew?! Altared weddings was right within our budget and they were very professional to work with. We would highly recommend their services!

We booked Altared Weddings & Events for our DJ (Jason Farmer) and also some lawn games. TL:DR - Altared took care of us promptly and effectively, we loved our DJ, and the lawn games were a hit! First, the whole process was seamless from start to finish! I filled out a form online and got a phone call from Ryan within 3 hours with a discussion of what my needs were followed by an online quote where I could make changes and book as needed. Ryan suggested DJ Jason given my interest in having more garden party background music rather than a "get crazy dance party club vibe" at our reception (it was a Sunday afternoon). Before I booked, I wanted to make sure we clicked, so Jason and I set up a phone conversation first and he was the sweetest, warmest, most genuine person! After booking, Altared sent me a questionnaire to assess my preferences and needs that I could revisit and revise until our big day - so helpful! When it came to the week of, Cristin was super helpful in adding the lawn games we wanted, Jason called to check in with me and calm my nerves (seriously, he asked me how I was doing and how he could support me or my other vendors, above and beyond providing music - so thoughtful!), and make sure he had all the right versions of our music (we had some specific album versions of music we wanted). Day of - my husband could NOT stop RAVING about how awesome Jason was and is! Jason talked to our guests and family, he cried during our family's toasts, and the music was perfect, our guests even commented on it! He truly loves what he does, and IT SHOWS! Also, the lawn games were a huge hit keeping our guests entertained! We got 2 Jengas and the blocks were smooth and easy to move, even the kids could play (I've been to weddings that had more "rough" Jenga blocks that made playing impossible!). We also got a Cornhole set that was beautifully painted and stained wood, and a Connect Four.
