She is such a positive and upbeat person to be around and it made taking photos such a fun experience. Amanda is honestly such a dream to work with. From the start, she takes the time to get to know her couples, put them at ease and make them comfortable on a day that can be filled with nerves. Something she does especially well is capturing all of the magic, candid moments in between the big ones, without interfering with them. That was one of the main reasons we decided to go with her! She’s a pro at wrangling and posing big groups efficiently. Amanda never gets in the way, during the event you’ll barely notice she’s there, but after the fact you’ll be so thankful she was!

My husband and I could not have asked for a better photographer for our wedding. Amanda was an absolute dream to work with!! We were looking for something a little nontraditional in our photography, and Amanda's documentarian style of shooting was the perfect fit for us. From our engagement photos to the photos she took for our wedding, looking at them brings us right back to each moment, and we remember exactly how we felt when the photo was taken. On the day, she was a total rockstar- Super organized and focused. When we got our photos back (in a very timely manner!), my husband and I were in tears remembering how special the day was and how Amanda so perfectly captured each element of our celebration. We aren't the only ones who think so, either. Our family and friends have been effusive with their praise of Amanda's work, too! While her photos are spectacular, she is also just an incredibly warm, comforting, and calm presence to have around on your wedding day! She was extremely communicative throughout the entire process with not only us, but with our wedding coordinator, too, and took time to address all of our questions and concerns (whether or not we would need a second shooter, how she felt about the lighting conditions in our venues, how to maximize the amount of time we could spend at our reception vs taking portraits before/after the ceremony, etc.) I am personally not a fan of having my photo taken, but Amanda made us both feel so comfortable for both of our shoots (engagement & wedding). I would HIGHLY recommend having Amanda shoot your engagement photos as well as your ceremony! In our engagement shoot, we got to "test drive" Amanda's photography style, which really helped us with knowing exactly what to expect from her on our wedding day. It was in the planning of that shoot that we really realized how carefully she tailors her approach to each couple. My husband and I decided to do our engagement shoot in our neighborhood where we live, and Amanda found the most incredible spots for photos in a neighborhood we walk in every day and had never noticed. She really has a fantastic eye! She's so collaborative and thoughtful- You really cannot find a better mix of talent and presence. We are so, so grateful for Amanda and will treasure our photos forever!!

Looking back on our big day, I can confidently say our best investment was having Amanda as our photographer. Working with her was so easy-breezy and she had this incredible calming nature to her that definitely helped ground us (she has such a beautiful soul AND happens to be an extremely talented photographer). From the moment we contacted her to the moment we received the photos from her less than a month after our wedding, she was SO responsive and clear in her communication (helps a ton when working with many vendors). She exceeded our expectations including going above and beyond to send us a Starbucks gift card a few months before the wedding as a little gift (so sweet!) She did an awesome job of keeping things move smoothly and took all the right photos (keeping things candid and natural). I've had other photographers in the past that ask you what you want but on a day like my wedding day, she did such an amazing job of giving direction without being too overbearing. My husband and I are so glad she was there to capture our special day. Thank you Amanda, you are THE BEST (and have already recommended you xoxo).

Amanda is an incredibly talented photographer. Not only does she have a great eye but she's extremely easy to work with. She knows when to gently step in to make sure you get that shot you mentioned to her six months ago - but she's not overbearing the way a lot of wedding photographers can be. Amanda felt like having another friend at the wedding, familiar, kind, and genuinely excited for us. The candid photos she took really captured our friends and family. Looking back at the pics it's amazing that she shot the wedding solo, she seemed to be in a hundred places at once. She's technically very talented, the composition of the photos are well balanced, and she overcame a number of challenges. The ceremony was blindingly bright outside, and the lighting at our reception was pretty dark, but somehow every photo she took came out beautifully. I cannot recommend Amanda enough. We will cherish the photos she took forever.

I don’t like being in the spotlight, which is difficult to stay out of as the bride. I also don’t love the staged pictures with every combination of family members. Some are necessary, I get that. Amanda got me and my groom. I don’t even know when she was getting all of the pictures but was able to capture a moment of everyone there. Most were candid and all authentic. There were no forced smiles. Somehow she was able to capture all of the love and happiness. She also captured the details that I missed and wasn’t able to see.

My husband and I could not be happier with how our experience with Amanda turned out. We met Amanda several times before, as she was the photographer for some of our friends’ wedding and I had always admired her photos. It’s a true testament of her work and reputation when she has already photographed several of your friends’ weddings. Amanda’s images are raw and she is able to capture every emotion throughout the night. On top of that, she is so sweet and really easy-going – which makes her subjects feel at ease in front of the camera. Her portfolio really speaks for itself. My only wish is that Amanda was still out in CA so we could hang out more often and she can capture every milestone of ours going forward! With that said, there’s a lot of amazing documentary-style photographers out there, but Amanda is special because she’s literally the whole package – we can’t recommend her enough <3

Amanda is an amazing photographer and an even more amazing person. If you're considering her for your wedding (or anything) photographer, stop right now and go BOOK HER! It was the best decision my husband and I made for our wedding! Amanda shot our engagement, wedding, and "trash-the-dress" photos. For our engagement shoot, I was so nervous because I'm generally awkward and I don't like attention on me, and it's hard to "act natural" with a stranger taking pictures of you. Within minutes of meeting Amanda for the first time, I was so comfortable and at ease. Amanda has an amazing quality to feel like a friend you've had for years within minutes of meeting her. I remember feeling so excited that day because I just knew she was perfect for us! Our photos turned out so beautifully and so real. They felt like us and they were perfect! Leading up to our wedding, Amanda and I were frequently communicating. Looking back, the only thing I was worried about was that she was photographing our wedding alone, without a second shooter. She offers a second shooter, but she assured me that she usually shoots weddings alone and is very comfortable with that. I trusted her and she did a fantastic job! She had me fill out a detailed questionnaire so that she knew exactly what I wanted. On the day of the wedding I was able to kick back and relax, I was so confident that Amanda had everything under control. The photos from our wedding day were absolutely gorgeous. Amanda is a talented artist - she has such an eye for unique and special photos. She has the ability to capture the in-between moments that you can feel with your heart but that are rarely captured with photos. Our wedding pictures are unique and timeless. I couldn't be more happy with them! If you're looking for staged, traditional wedding photos, you won't find that with Amanda. All of our photos were really unique, beautiful, and authentically real. She captures raw emotions and small details, and I love her for that! For our last "trash-the-dress" shoot, I wanted another excuse to wear my dress, and both my husband and I wanted an excuse to hang out on the beach in Grand Haven, MI. By the time Amanda shot these photos for us, it was like seeing an old friend again. We laughed, drank wine, and caught up on life. The photos are absolutely breathtaking, as usual. When your wedding is over, all you have left are your memories and your photos. It's so incredibly worth it to invest in an amazing photographer like Amanda because when all is said and done your photos are all you have left! My husband and I are so incredibly grateful for Amanda. We plan to hire her for all of our special occasions for years to come! We love her!

I am pretty sure I asked Amanda to be my friend after talking to her on the phone for the first time. We found her through Brogen Jessup who recommended Amanda! She is the sweetest and everyone at our wedding loved her. Many of our friends have asked her to be their wedding photographer since then, which says it all, right? My husband and I could not be any happier after working with Amanda on our big day. She was extremely professional, courteous, and WE ARE OBSESSED with the pictures we've seen thus far. She also goes above and beyond when it comes to her customers. Once we booked her, we found a time that made sense for us to meet up and chat just she could get to know us and what we were looking for, and then she also attended site visits to see our venues and also scouted the area for good outdoor locations for us to take photos before the wedding. She's extremely communicative, and for the few hours of the day before the wedding when we did pictures, she took the reigns on getting our bus driver to each location so my husband and I could just sit back and enjoy the ride/party with our family. She also did an excellent job making sure we got all of the shots we wanted. AND she seemed to be having fun the entire time. Would 100% book her again and recommend her for any wedding.

Amanda was above and beyond! 10/10 recommend. Amanda shot both our engagement and wedding day photos, and she was super flexible with our schedules throughout the entire process. On the day of the wedding, she came with a plan and executed perfectly. Not once did I feel like I was “posing” for a picture (aside from the necessary family shots). Our family and friends have commented on how organic / beautiful the pictures are (they’ll make great holiday gifts, too). My husband and I met in Michigan and that where I grew up. When we got married 3 years ago we were living in Minnesota and chose to have our wedding there and we’re lucky enough to snag Amanda as our photographer with a relatively short engagement and thus planning time. I’d admired her work for so long. She was nothing short of amazing to work with long distance and throughout our wedding weekend. I love our photos and the energy they captured and her warm yet mellow presence was just what we needed for our day. She captured such beautiful and intimate moments of us and Our community of family and friends we can’t recommend her enough.

Amanda is AMAZING! From the very start, she was efficient, friendly, and really helpful. She made things very straightforward and gives brilliant recommendations, which were so helpful when wedding planning! Amanda was wonderful the day of the wedding—on top of being thorough and quick to get the special moments, she was cheerful and even calm among the chaos! And finally, we LOVE our photos. We are so thrilled to have these photographs to remember the night in detail. They capture such great moments, the atmosphere, and the event as a whole. We planned our wedding in 2.5 months, I only wish we had more time to take engagement photos beforehand too!

Amanda was the photographer at my son's wedding. She took wonderful pictures that were both portraits and candid shots. She caught so many special moments by being in the right place at the right time. We are so pleased with everything she did! We thought she was wonderful for her photography, but then, to top it off, she is outstanding as a person. I ordered the wrong finish on my pictures. I emailed right away, but they were already being printed. Amanda is so conscientious and willing to do what it takes to make her clients happy that she re-ordered my set of pictures in the finish I wanted at no additional charge to me. Amanda was the perfect photographer for us. We had a DIY wedding with about 100 people attending, but went for a pretty intimate vibe. So, we didn't have the biggest budget, but Amanda worked with us to make it happen. She only stayed for a couple hours but got all our key moments, giving great direction to us and our wedding party. We had a particular look in mind for our photographs and she understood that aesthetic completely. With all the stress of a wedding, it was great to have someone who was friendly, communicative, and easy to work wit. We can't be happier with our photos!

We’ve had the pleasure of working with Amanda three times. The first time was on our initial meeting when we were lucky enough to share the same campsite and my husband and I were still just dating. I think we partly got engaged so that we could hire Amanda, the pictures she shared with us after the trip so perfectly and casually captured the joy we felt together. When we got engaged, Amanda was the first vendor we contacted. The second time we worked together, we had planned to have her come up to SF, where we live, but ended up convincing her to meet us in the desert, where we had planned a last-minute road trip, and she cheerfully obliged. She delivered stunning engagement photos in less than an hour of shooting. Such. A. Pro. The third time we worked together was our wedding day, a special whirlwind and emotionally-overwhelming experience, but Amanda’s calming energy reminded us to slow down and enjoy the moment. She was flexible with timing and locations when I was running behind schedule and simply got all the shots we wanted by communicating with us early and often leading up to the day. Amanda is so awesome that I wish we could get married all over again just to work with her more. We haven’t decided whether to start a family yet, but another photo sesh with Amanda is definitely weighing down the “pro” column. We can’t recommend her highly enough.

What a pleasure it was to be able to work with Amanda. Living out of state I relied on referrals from the first two vendors we booked and I was given the name of two photographers. Those referrals were already hired on our wedding date, however they BOTH suggested Amanda as an alternate. I am SO glad that those other photographers were not available because Amanda did an INCREDIBLE job! People cannot stop talking about how gorgeous the wedding looked and how great our pictures came out. When I looked Amanda up online before contacting her I was very impressed with her online gallery, however I can honestly say I'm not sure this portfolio does her work justice! My husband is obsessed with the pictures, my mom is calling dibs on some of them for her Christmas card, our sister-in-law ordered a huge print of the family for her home, and so on! Everyone wants copies of these pictures! If you are looking to duplicate wedding shot ideas found on Pinterest, Amanda may not be your girl (although she will probably accommodate you). When we go through our album, it is as if we are reliving the day and we could not be happier.

My now husband and I are actually wedding photographers and the only question we were asked while planning our wedding was “who is going to take your wedding photos?” Another photographer friend of ours was an obvious option but was in or wedding. He actually suggested Amanda and I have never been more grateful for a referral! We first met up with Amanda at a coffee shop that turned out to be inside a Kroger! We all had a good laugh about that and we knew she was a great fit for our day. The day of, she was organized and helpful and up for anything and we were happy with our choice! Then we saw our photos... and our world was rocked. She captured gorgeous portraits and beautiful traditional wedding photos that we were happy with! But what left us sobbing were the candid moments she caught of my dad wiping his eyes during our vows, my parents dancing together at our reception, and all of our guests enjoying our wedding day!! Our wedding photos are something that we truly treasure. We ordered a custom album through Amanda and now that he have a child, he looks through the book and says “mama pretty” and “look it’s nana!” So clearly our children will treasure the photos as well. Also, on a business note, the money we spent on Amanda was by far the best money we have ever spent, the quality she delivered was priceless! Even if her packages started at a million dollars, she would be worth every penny. (Thankfully for us, they don’t!)

Amanda is so talented. She has an eye for gorgeous framing and her editing is a perfect balance of natural and dreamy. Bonus! She is also a lovely soul and a joy to work with.

My husband and I were very happy that we chose Amanda as our wedding photographer. She was kind, professional, and fit right into the scene...making us, our wedding party, and our guests feel comfortable. My favorite thing about Amanda's photography is her ability and talent in capturing the candid moments with a unique and artistic eye. She goes beyond traditional posed photos, and really captured the emotion and mood of our day perfectly.

Photography was my number 1 priority for our wedding, and Amanda delivered on that front. Our coordinator recommended Amanda, and at first I hesitated since she was outside of our price range and based in San Diego (we're in San Francisco). We discussed what was important to me and she pared down the package to our price range, substituted the engagement shoot for an assistant shooter and we paid for her travel. She arrived a day early to get acquainted with the venue. My parents were especially impressed - they said every time there was a moment they wished she caught on camera, she was already there! The only drawback was that it took a while to get the photos back, but I think that was because we were in the middle of wedding season- she was very polite about the delay and the edit was very thoughtful so it was worth the time.

We LOVED working with Amanda! She did our engagement and wedding photos and captured moments we would never have noticed due to the busyness of the day. We have been married for 6 years now and still have a digital frame that scrolls through all of the wedding photos from the USB she gave us. Highly recommend!

Amanda is the best! At the end of your wedding day, your brain is a mush of happy memories, and with so much activity it's hard to remember all the details. Amanda perfectly captured our wedding, in a way that filled in the highlight reel of memories. We get tons of compliments on our photos and how effortless they look. My mom still uses the family photo taken by Amanda in her Christmas card, for 5 years straight. As a bonus, she made us feel totally comfortable. My husband hates having his picture taken, but raves about Amanda. 10/10 would recommend.

I cannot say enough good things about Amanda and her work. She photographed our destination wedding in Riviera Maya, Mexico and did such an incredible job. My husband and I had an amazing experience working with Amanda for our wedding and engagement photos. We are both Art Directors in the advertising and design field, so you can only imagine our scrutinizing eye when it came to the photography on our big day. For Amanda’s photography style, quality and coverage, her prices were beyond reasonable. My husband and I are also used to working with photographers behind the camera, not in front of it, and her warm personality really made the whole shoot a lot less awkward for us. The overall process, was such a breeze. She was collaborative and respectfully provided her expertise and point of view when we needed it. We provided a shot list of all the shots we really wanted captured on the day, and agreed on when photos will be delivered. All of which she fulfilled. She even packaged up all the printed photos in a beautiful wooden box with matching USB drive. She did such a beautiful job capturing the day, we even got featured on wedding blogs!

Amanda photographed our engagement session & wedding this past July. She was great to work with and most importantly our photos are amazing! She is super sweet and easy going, good at guiding you and helping you with locations/poses and also totally open to incorporating anything you want/any suggestions or ideas you have into her work. In the past, I've had experiences with photographers who are sharp in their approach, and that doesn't make for a fun experience (nor great photos). But with Amanda, you'll feel right at home, and it'll show in the beautiful, candid photos she creates! She even made the most of a moody-weather day at our last shoot, encouraging us to embrace it, and even running through the pouring rain with us! Amanda is my go-to photographer!
