Took my cake vision and turned it in to exactly what I dreamed of. Cake tasted sooooo good:)

Our cake was PERFECT! It turned out beautifully and exactly as we wanted. It tasted amazing. We love Amaru and would recommend to anyone wanting a beautiful, delicious dessert.

Amaru is the only choice in Boise for a GF/vegan wedding cake, so they get an extra star for even offering this (and making it taste good!). We ordered way too much (300 mini-cupcakes and a 2-tier cake) at their recommendation, and ended up having over 200 mini cupcakes go to waste. I would have appreciated them not pushing us towards having such a huge amount of dessert - I had no idea how much it would be! Additionally, we had asked our florist to bring in flowers for the cake and had them waiting on the cake table for the delivery, as noted to Amaru when we ordered the cake. They delivered it to the kitchen and did not add the flowers, insisting that the cake was not meant to have flowers! Thankfully, our caterers stepped in and decorated it for us last minute. Finally, if you are going with Amaru because of dietary restrictions, double and triple check when you go to your tasting that they prepared the correct samples for you - I have a very severe dairy allergy and they had put regular cupcakes in front of us instead of the vegan version even though it was marked in our reservation very clearly. In summary, the cake tasted good, but the service wasn't great. If you have dietary restrictions, double check everything. I would recommend them to people who can't eat regular cake (there are no other options) but would encourage others to look elsewhere.

Amaru was amazing. We ordered mini cupcakes from them for our wedding. They offered amazing flavors that were gluten free and vegan. The staff is incredibly helpful and easy to work with. Their cupcakes are DELICIOUS!!!

Absolutely love Amaru really like that they had gluten free options hard to find sometimes. My husband and I really loves our cake choices we did red velvet, and huckleberry lemon. As sliders. For or main cake we did gluten free vanilla on the outside and chocolate on the inside. The cake wasn’t easy to cut but everything turned out perfect thank you!!

We ordered the vegan spiced chai, vegan chocolate, vegan red velvet, and vegan & gluten free vanilla. Positives: They all tasted amazing! And I really loved how my cake turned out. It totally fit within my theme and tasted amazing! Negatives: The day of our tasting, they prepared all non-vegan options for us to try. When they realized their mistake, they had nothing available for us to try. Even though we asked for all vegan cupcakes/cake, I noticed 6 weeks before my wedding, that the frosting on all the cupcakes and the cake were not vegan. Thankfully, I noticed early enough that we were able to get it fixed. They could work on their customer service skills.

I'm so glad I used Amaru for my wedding cupcakes. My son has a nut allergy, many of my guests are vegan and some have gluten allergies. Amaru was my pick ever since I got engaged because I knew they could work with all of those special requests. The cupcakes are so delicious! Gluten-free and vegan baking has come a long way, the cupcakes weren't flaky at all. I'm really glad they had the mini cupcakes options, it kept guests feeling like they could have a nice piece of cake without feeling overloaded or over-sweetened.

Most amazing cake ever!! Came out just how i imagined it, but better!! I was blown away and everyone loved it so much! I continue to go back for cupcakes!!

Amaru made our wedding cake perfect! It was easy to schedule a tasting with them and customize the design and it showed up the day of the wedding looking perfect and tasting amazing.

Amaru did great with our wedding cake! I was planning from out of state and they were amazing and easy to work with through email. My cake was beautiful and delicious! The one regret I have from the wedding was not eating more cake! Highly recommend.

We tasted and tried several bakeries and found Amaru and never tasted better cake! The tasting we booked was easy, quick and they worked with us on the simple vision we had in mind. Easy, priced competitively and most importantly, delicious!

I ordered "mini" wedding cakes (and a top cake) from Amaru. The cakes themselves were lovely and tasted great. However, we also requested cake toppers to be made special for our big day. We're gamers, so we asked for meeples: one black and one blue. Since we know that's a unique request, we also included two different pictures to ensure that there were no misunderstandings of what we wanted. I also received verbal confirmation over the phone that the pictures were received and it was understood what we wanted. The day of the wedding, we received *stars*, not meeples for our cake toppers. The designer stated that that's what they saw when they looked at the pictures. Our wedding planner told the person who delivered it that that was not correct and that they needed to fix it. They took the stars back and did a quick hack job of doing their best to make them look like meeples. Granted, they *did* look like meeples when they got back, but it was clear the poor cake toppers had suffered. I received no apology for the mix-up via email while on my honeymoon, so I called when I got back. I was told that they didn't believe they had done anything wrong and in fact, that they should be praised for attempting to fix the cake toppers instead of just ignoring it. They said the designer did their best based on the pictures received and that it was a shock I was asking for any form of refund. I was offered half of the cake topper cost back in refund because of my dissatisfaction, but was refused a full refund due to the belief that Amaru was in no way wrong. In a nutshell: If you want tasty cake with no muss or fuss? Go to them. If you want anything specialized? Steer very clear.

Amaru was by far one of our easiest wedding vendors to work with! We took in a handful of photos of cake designs that we liked to our initial meeting, asked for a few price estimates, and quickly came to a decision! They drew out a sketch of the cake for us showing exactly how it would look (and it seriously was EXACT in the final product!). We also had a great time cake tasting (who wouldn't). Choosing the flavors was incredibly difficult, but only because they had so many delicious flavors to choose from! We had a 300-person invite list... so at the time, we wanted to make choices that we thought would appeal to the greatest number of people. We ended up going with 3 different flavors for our 4-tier cake and side sheet cakes: Guinness Chocolate Cake with Irish Cream frosting; Lemon Cake with Huckleberry Cream frosting; and White vanilla cake with Raspberry puree filling. It was ah-mazing. I fully intend to keep going back to Amaru for their cupcakes and for any other special events where a cake is due!

The cake was both beautiful and delicious. People are still talking about how flavorful the cake was and it is still some of the best cake I've ever had. My wedding had 300 people, so we bought enough cake to serve 350 just in case. That meant a 5-tier cake served 140, and then two side cakes to cover everyone else. Unfortunately at the wedding, we somehow served everyone with 1 and a half side cakes. We didn't even cut into the main 5 tiered cake and had to take it home at the end of the night! The servers weren't cutting super small slices either. If you're ordering from Amaru just keep in mind they might be overestimating serving sizes.

I've tried Amaru cupcakes at wedding events and personal events. They are amazing! The size of their cupcakes is twice what other bakeries are doing. The flavors and combinations they come up with are amazing! Salted caramel chocolate, stout chocolate with buttercream frosting, and pink champagne are beyond words!

oh my goodness the cake was so delicious! We had 4 flavors for the night: Guinness chocolate with Irish creme icing, lemon with huckleberry icing, pumpkin with cinnamon icing, and chocolate with sea-salt caramel icing. All of the cakes had buttercream frosting and were amazing. She created the perfect decoration for our fall theme and had cascading leaves falling down the cake! AHH! I couldn't have planned it better myself! The cake was perfect and not even the tiniest bit dry! We got SO many compliments! :)

We had cupcakes for our guests and a 2 tiered cake for us and family. They have delicious treats! The cupcakes were a huge hit! The price was very reasonable for all we got.

Amaru did a great job of making sure our cake looked exactly like we asked. Their cake is also the most delicious cake I have ever had and at a price that cannot be beat. I asked for a four tier cake.

This cake was delicious! We had a 4 tier cake alternating between chocolate and vanilla. Both we incredibly delicious and we had many compliments on our cake. They were also very professional and easy to work with. We didn't want our cake to melt in the July heat and they worked with us to time the drop off so it wouldn't melt. They were great!

I ordered a 6" round cake for my husband and I to cut into for our wedding. We had a popular date and it was only 3 months until I DO! I called Amaru Confections and asked if they could make me what I wanted. Even though they were booked, they said they could meet my requests. They were PHENOMENAL!!!!!!!! My cake was better than I had anticipated! The presentation was awesome, price was perfect, and the taste was to DIE FOR! Hands down, best ever!!!!!!!

We had cupcake tiered cake, 6" cake on top and 6 dozen cupcakes. All very tasty. We had to rent a cake tier (they don't have them) and bring our own cupcake wrappers. They only have brown, pink, yellow and red cupcake wrappers.

I went into Amaru knowing exactly what I wanted and Chris made sure I was able to get just that. I met with him early one Saturday morning and was in and out within 10 minutes. I told him exactly what I wanted and how I wanted it and he didn't question me one bit. The day of my wedding I was in awe of how much they made my dream wedding cake a reality. And everyone loved how the icing and cake tasted, which was divine. I hope to have more of their cake ASAP and will be coming back for smaller cakes for every anniversary we have, it's already a future tradition in the making :)

Amaru Confections did a beautiful job on my wedding cake and cup cakes. We decided to only get a 6 inch cake to cut and 6 dozen mathing cupcakes with different flavors and it was really the best idea we had. It was so easy to set up an appointment and figure out everything we wanted and we got enough cake to feed 100 guests for only $300 and that was including delivery! The flavors were great, the convenience was great, and the cake was amazing!

I used Amaru for our wedding cake, grooms cake and cupcakes. All of the cakes were amazing. I am a baker, and have made several wedding cakes. Amaru's cakes did not disappoint. The Guinness Chocolate Grooms Cake with Salted Caramel filling was a huge hit. We ordered way more cake than we had guests and we barely had any left overs. It was that good! Our wedding cake was gorgeous, just like the picture we discussed. Our initials were piped on fondant dots, the color of the piping was a little off, so that's why I didn't give them a perfect 5 stars. Other than that our two tier mini wedding cake was gorgeous. Great work with butter cream & fondant, the look of the cake was flawless. The cakes were boards that did not fit the cake stands we had, but I don't blame them for that... That was my communication error. It did not effect our special day, and the cakes & cupcakes by Amaru looked lovely on our cake table. The customer service offered by Amaru is excellent, far superior to another popular vendor who I also contacted regarding our wedding cake. I added the groom's cake 1 week prior to the wedding, and their response was no problem. They are very easy to work with. I would definitely recommend Amaru for any of your cake & cupcake needs.

We chose Amaru for our wedding cake, as they were less pushy than most of the other vendors we had looked at. They also had unique cake flavors, such as Guinness and cinnamon. The butter cream frosting was to-die for and much better than the traditional too-sugary wedding cake frosting. My only complaint was that the colors on our cake were not what I asked for. In hindsight, I should have double-checked to make sure we were on the same page. Overall, the taste was more important and our cake was a BIG hit!

Chris did an amazing job creating my vision for my husband's Forrest Gump (his FAVORITE movie) grooms cake. We also had him do our single slicing cake and it was amazing! Great flavor and so moist! Highly recommend them!

Our cake was beautiful, unique, and tasty, even three weeks later when we were still eating leftovers and gets a 5/5 for this. The only downside is that we wanted to have photos on the cake and they do not have the equipment on site to do this and we had to supply this ourselves from another vendor.

I hated my cake. I gave them pictures of what i wanted for my cake, and it looked nothing like i wanted. i cried when i saw it. The used the wrong flowers and instead of sticking my caketopper on top of the cake, that i had coustom made the just sat it next to the cake and piled ugly flowers on top of it. They didn't use the ribbon i had bought for the bottom of the tiers of my cake, and they didn't give it back wither. it was money definityly well wasted. and they were way to exspenzive my 4 tier cake was 600 and it was very basic compared to alot of cakes

We got both our traditional cake and Grooms Cake from Amaru Confections. The Grooms cake was phenomenal, it was a 50's style rocket ship that stood up, complete with flames! They charged us be serving not by flavor, so we ending up having 6 different cake/filling flavor combos. Loved them, great service!

Aimee did a BEAUTIFUL job with my cake. It looked exactly like I wanted it to and it tasted even better than it looked. She even made a gluten-free cake for my mother-in-law. It really was indescribable. It was moist, with creamy filling, and the frosting was smooth with a great texture. Her customer service was fabulous.

Amaru is fantastic to work with. Their cake is moist and the flavors are delicious. We received nothing but compliments on our three flavors of our cake.

Our cake turned out exactly as we had hoped for. We took them a picture and they replicated it exactly. Not to mention how amazing it tasted. I plan on using their services again in the future!

my cake was amazingly delicious. the service was average. and they arrived on time and it made it through the heat...but...they did part of the design wrong. it was supposed to have edible rhinestones, and instead they did little buttons of frosting...so my all white cake looked a little plain...when it wasn't supposed to. but it did taste like heaven. and i guess that's what guests will remember.

I was very impressed with the professional attitude and attention to detail that Aimee provided with my cake and cupcakes. We did three different flavors all gulten free and not one of our guest knew they were eating gluten free. They were fantastic!!!!

Working with Aimee during the wedding process was so easy and she is very open and flexible with plans! The sample cakes were delicious and guests couldn't stop raving about the whipped buttercream frosting she used!

Our cake was absolutely beautiful and they were great to work with. My fiance actually gave her design ideas for color and she executed it perfectly. The cake was very delicious too! I was told one of the sheet cakes was little dry and a little over-cooked. I would recommend Amaru though.

Amy was an absolute joy to work with. She took my ideas and really made them come to life. She was very on top of things and always in contact with me up until the day of my wedding where she delivered the cake, which looked and tasted amazing. I recommend Amaru Confections to anyone I know.
