Amazing Alterations

I have an excellent expierence at amazing alterations for my wedding dress! I was lucky to work with Brenda, she was SO fun and so easy to work with and did a great job taking my dress in. She also added in bustles for me and they were able to steam my dress and veil for me. A little on the expensive side, but so worth it!!!

Amazing Alterations did a wonderful job on my dress and at a reasonable price. Brenda was great at making suggestions/recommendations and also silly requests like sewing buttons from my grandma's dress into my dress pockets so I knew they were there.

Brenda is amazing as I must say. She’s fun and energetic. Their prices are reasonable too!

Their whole team was so kind, professional, easy to get ahold of and exactly who I trusted with such an important part of my wedding day. The staff offered opinions on my dress that I desperately needed a 3rd party opinion on. I’m so glad they recommended I wear a hoop under my dress, it helped me stay so cool in my August wedding. Another thing I very much appreciated is I had my mom pick up my dress for me, but they called me to confirm who was there to pick up my dress. That little detail was more than appreciated, you never want your dress to go to the wrong person! They spent a great deal of time teaching us how to bustle my dress, they helped me another time when I nearly fainted, and overall were such a positive attitude that made me feel like the most beautiful bride. I cannot recommend them enough, they truly put their hearts into my dress and made me feel absolutely beautiful.

I had such an amazing experience at Amazing Alterations with my wedding dress. From the first appointment to the final fitting, Brenda made sure all my concerns were addressed and that my dress was fitting me in all the right places. They did same day alterations for those quick fixes and made me feel so comfortable knowing that my dress was in good hands. The seamstresses are so talented and truly know how to make those final adjustments so I could walk out of there with my dream dress. When buying my wedding dress, they gave me a list of places I could look into for alterations. Amazing Alterations was pointed out to me as a great option. I called right when I got home and from the get go, they were so organized on the phone. I got signed up for 3 dress fittings, and they explained everything to me vey clearly about how they operate. The 2nd dress fitting we had set up ended up landing on a work event and they were very easy to work with to pivot to a different day that was still close to the original date, which was a huge relief. Their building is kind of tucked away, but once you find it and go in, its such a cool space!! I felt so happy my dress was in their hands. They knew what they were doing and it was beyond awesome to not have to stress about how my dress was being kept. The women who work there are absolutely incredible, friendly and wonderful. On top of it all my dress looked STUNNING and I felt amazing in it. Definitely sending them a picture for their wall. Thank you Amazing Alterations, you knocked it out of the park!

I've been to Amazing Alterations for bridesmaids dresses before and have had good experience. Bringing my bridal gown there was a no brainer. They are easy to work with. I had three appointments once I got my dress. I picked up my dress three days before the wedding and they said that they wouldn't let me leave until it fit perfectly, which I didn't have to worry about because when I got there it fit so well. Very much appreciate their detailed work and the passion they put into the alterations.

I had the best time! Everyone was beyond kind and sweet. I didn't have a solid idea of what I wanted with my dress beyond I wanted to add sleeves and they blew me away with how they added them and made my dress even better than I could imagine. As a St. Paulite, it was worth going to the suburbs to get my dress done here.

Working with everyone here was absolutely amazing. My first two appointments went very smooth and they were able to mark everything that needed to be fixed and what I specifically wanted done. My final fitting was great! All I needed was to let my straps out just a little bit and it was perfect and I left with my dress with no worries. I would recommend to everyone. Their prices are also very fair in my opinion.

Amazing Alterations was great to work with. I called her months in advance and she helped me set my dates for alterations for when I actually needed them, so my dress would fit me at my current body size, not 6 months prior to the wedding. Brenda was so friendly and did beautiful work!

Amazing Alterations are really good at what they do. My dress was tight fitting and wasn’t the easiest to alter because there weren’t proper seams to take in the dress. However, they had the extensive experience and knowledge to provide the best option where you didn’t even notice where it was taken in. There were 3 thorough appointments and made me feel so comfortable. They may charge more than other alterations places you look into but if you have a wedding dress or gown this is the place to be!! The best investment to feel your best.

I had amazing experience! I purchased a gorgeous dress and I have a large bust. I wanted more coverage up too and we ended up doing an entirely new top of the dress and it turned out perfect. It was classy and I had coverage and you’d never be able to tell that it wasn’t originally like that.

Amazing Alterations truly saved my wedding day! After a bad experience at my first Alterations place, Amazing Alterations was able to get me in quickly for not only my wedding dress but also to modernize my Grandma's wedding dress that I wore for our rehearsal dinner. My wedding dress was full beads, had a scalloped bottom, and was measured way to large but Brenda worked her magic and for that I am so grateful! My rehearsal dinner dress was a 1957 Dayton's wedding dress that my grandma, mom, and aunt all wore and while it was no easy feat altering it to be a modern tea length dress without sleeves, Brenda did it and it was amazing. It was so special to be able to wear this family dress and my Grandma simply loved it. Would highly recommend for all your wedding alterations needs!

I am so glad I chose Amazing Alterations! Not only did they find to see me on short notice, they were very knowledgeable about the best ways to tailor my fully beaded (head-to-toes) dress. They even came up with some cool ideas to make my dress truly one of kind for my special day. Ghost train anyone? It was so cool how my beaded train shimmered and showed through the sand and lava rocks as I walked around. From tips and tricks for hair style, dress design...all the way to life hacks for the traveling bride (how to pack a wedding dress in a carry-on purse), I'm telling you that the commute over to their location (40min each way) was worth every penny! The staff are warm, very experienced, and are truly invested in making you shine like a star on your wedding day. Absolutely amazing - 5 STARS - all the way. Just call them!!

Unlike most reviews, I did not have an amazing experience with Amazing Alterations. Brenda, the gal that altered my wedding dress was extremely nice and helpful! Although, every single appointment I went to, I would sit around for roughly 1.5 hours until I was seen, and then when I was finally seen, I felt extremely rushed and never felt listened to. Even with my final bridal fitting, I feel like my dress didn't 100% fit me but I was essentially pushed out the door because so many other girls that needed to be seen the same time.

I was referred to Amazing Alterations after purchasing my dress from Posh Bridal salon in Hopkins. From my first visit, I was blown away by the vintage, boutique interior and the eclectic style of the staff. At each appointment, I grew more excited for my day and felt the environment allowed me to forget about the day’s worries and enjoy the moment of wearing and posing in my wedding dress. The seamstress did a wonderful job explaining bustle options, helping film how to bustle my dress for my bridesmaids and making sure my dress was at the right height so that I didn’t trip over it while dancing. Amazing Alterations was wonderful. They came recommended to me from Luxe Bridal, where I purchased my wedding dress. Although they were always busy, they are worth every penny, and did such a great job helping me feel beautiful and comfortable in my dress.

Amazing Alterations made my dress look stunning. I was in love with it when I picked it out but after the alterations it was perfect. They made me feel comfortable the entire time I was working with them and I felt comfortable and gorgeous the entire night. The folks at Amazing Alterations see SOOO many brides, yet still manage to make you feel like you're the only one in the shop. They did a fantastic job altering my dress and made sure I was completely in love with it at my final fitting. Worth every penny!

The team here was absolutely amazing! It is a big deal to trust such a special garment with something, and I felt so comfortable from the moment I walked in. My dress is kind of a different color that I wasn't able to order any more of, and they looked through their entire fabric stash to see if they had anything that matched to add a custom bow. When I came in for my final fitting I was absolutely blown away by the fit and how nice the ladies were, they made me feel like the most beautiful person in the whole world.

This place was recommended to me by the business I bought my dress from. They were reasonably priced. Staff was courteous and friendly. They were flexible with me for my final fitting (seamstresses are only available during certain hours). I thought my dress fit perfectly!

I asked for a lining to be added to the front of my dress and it came out just as I imagined. During the last fitting, they made sure the dress fit exactly as I wanted before leaving. I had a wonderful experience working with Amazing Alterations! First of all, they were able to fit me into their schedule just 3 months before my wedding despite being super busy. They did such a great job with making sure my dress fit perfectly and that it would be able to stay up all day (my dress was strapless) and move well on the dance floor. The bustle was also well done and easy to pin up on the big day. They were also very affordable and ended up being close to half of what I had expected to pay for alterations. Can't recommend them enough! :)

Brenda is a godsend! Living in Roseville, I wasn’t keen on driving all the way out to Anoka to get my alterations done, but Amazing Alterations came SO highly recommended that I was OK with it. When Brenda first pinned my dress to how it was going to fit me, I almost cried! It looked so good. I was so ready for my second appointment in April 2020. Then COVID hit and I had to postpone my wedding twice. Brenda so graciously stored my dress for me until my rescheduled second fitting in September 2021. Brenda and her team had already made the first alterations from 2020 and took the bodice of my dress in. Which, as a plus-size bride, I never thought would be said about anything I ever owned. Brenda knew exactly which bustle my dress needed, and I felt so good when I left that appointment. I came in for the final fitting, and my dress fit like a glove. The team recorded a video on my phone so my bridesmaids and personal attendant could do my bustle correctly. So many people cried when they saw me in my dress. I can’t recommend Amazing Alterations enough! I felt like a goddess in my dress!

I heard many people suggest Amazing Alterations so I had to go to get the best experience. I had a long train, a lot of lace, needed to be taken in almost everywhere, and a bustle. Appointments were efficient, helpful, and turnover time for finishing was quick! I’m so so impressed with them, especially with how much they have been understaffed from Covid. I felt amazing on my wedding day and couldn’t be happier!!

This place is seriously a Cinderella experience. I walked in with a dress that was way too big, and that I had some second thoughts about, and they made it look amazing. I had taken it to a previous tailor who did not feel confident working with the fabric and all the lace appliqués and Amazing Alterations did not even think twice about it. I also worried about the bust area on the dress, but they were able to fix it no questions asked, and once it was tailored to my body shape, I was amazed at how beautiful I looked. All of the tailors/pinners/front desk staff were very welcoming and helpful and I enjoyed my experience. My maid of honor is getting married in June, and I referred her to go here because of the amazing outcome I received. I definitely will encourage people to go here for their wedding dresses!

They do good work, but they lack professionalism and caused me a great deal of stress leading up to my wedding. To their credit, they fit me into their schedule with only a few months left before my wedding. Under normal circumstances, I'm sure that would have been fine, but they were seriously understaffed due to Covid. I showed up for my first of 3 appointments and was brought back to a changing room 10 minutes late, and then stood there in my oversized dress for 45 minutes while every other girl in the place got helped but me. I was told several times that it would be 5 more minutes. I told them I had to get to a meeting for work, and they assured me I would get fitted soon. That went on for 30 minutes. I had to leave without getting fitted, in order to make it back to work on time. I took a half day off work for this appointment which was only scheduled for 30 minutes, so I was very annoyed and panicked that I wasn't going to get my dress done in time for the wedding. They rescheduled me for 2 weeks later. I got a phone call the day before my appointment informing me that they needed to reschedule me (again, but they didn't remember that) because one of their pinners called in for the next day (a recurring issue they've had every time I've been there). I finally got in for my first appointment another week later, and they were apologetic, I was in and out in 30 minutes like I should have been, and they went over the invoice items and total amount with me and assured me that would be the maximum amount. I thought "okay, maybe this will be better now." Well, I received an email from them a few days later, informing me that they missed the hem on my invoice, so it was going to be an additional $190 (that is not a small amount to forget, and she verbally mentioned the hem when she listed everything off to me before telling me the total). For my second fitting I took another half day off work, but it was in the afternoon. Good thing, because I didn't get to go back and change until 30 minutes after my appointment time. Otherwise this appointment went fine, besides one of the pinners making me very uncomfortable by asking if my fiance and I "are waiting" because I was having bust cups installed into my dress, because "that could be misleading." Very uncomfortable. For my final fitting, I took the entire day off work. The final fit is supposed to be a 30 minute appointment, and mine was scheduled for 11am. I didn't get in my dress until 12:35pm, and that is only after my mom went up to the desk because they started calling brides back who had later appointment times than me. Turns out they brought my dress back to the room and closed the curtain, so they thought I was in there getting dressed. Then when I finally got in my dress, I stood there waiting for another 15 minutes for someone to show my mom how to do the bustles. Then I waited even longer because they wanted to take my picture on one of their couches. I was there for a total of 3 hours for what was supposed to be a 30 minute appointment. As if there aren't a million things to get ready a week before your wedding. My dress turned out beautiful, but I was not happy with the way the cups were sewn in (just by the corners, so the cup gaped from the actual dress quite a bit, and fashion tape couldn't hold it in place for more than a few hours at a time). The hem was also a little too long and I had to hold my dress at times so I wouldn't trip over it.

I would not recommend, unless you only work the Brenda. On my last fitting everything was going smoothly, I had lace appliques on the bottom of my dress I knew they were going to sew them on that day. So I try the dress on ask me if everything looks okay it looks like the lace is on the floor and then they go and sew it on. When I tried the dress back on the lace sat 2 inches off the ground. All of the girls kept telling me thats how the dress was supposed to look, thats how the designer wanted it to look. Okay maybe it is, but having lace sit two inches off the floor looked AWFUL. Brenda jumps in and starts looks at the dress. She tells me that they can only lower it one inch because of the way it was cut. THANK GOD I ordered extra applique and Brenda was able to piece the bottom of my dress together so the bottom of the lace actually touched the ground. If I didn't have extra appliques the lace wouldn't touch the ground. No one even seemed to be bothered by how bad the dress looked, no one apologized, no one seemed to care at all. Then the people in the store got an attitude with me because I wasn't 'jumping for joy' that the bottom of my dress touched the ground.

Amazing Alterations came highly recommended by my bridal shop, so I decided to use them for my wedding gown alterations. They had to take in the bodice, which was covered in intricate stitching and beading. I don't know what magic their tailors used to pull that off seamlessly (pardon the pun), but the dress looked and fit beautifully when they were finished! As a bonus, their shop has such a fun ambiance! The only negative was that it was often hard to get ahold of someone on the phone. All worked out well in the end, however.

Amazing Alterations did a great job of fitting my dress to me in a way that was modest and beautiful! Only lost one star because it was altered to be very tight around my waist such that I had to take small breaths all day and lost one fastener on my dress before the ceremony, but nobody could tell at all and there were enough reinforcements on the dress that it held together really well othersise. The bustle was gorgeous and they are excellent at tackling some of the most challenging dresses.

We chose this shop because it was on a list of recommended vendors from the bridal shop. We first regretted this choice when the owner was rude and brusque to us. Then during alterations my daughter asked for her feet to peak out from under the dress but they made it too long. When she asked about it again they gaslighted us and told us it was fine. When we asked for a new (hook) fastener we were told the dress didn’t need one. So on the day of the wedding we had a dress that dusted the floor and a hook that immediately broke while she was dressing! Thankfully we had an emergency sewing kit and a fashion designer friend who sewed my daughter into the dress. I would absolutely NOT recommend this shop for your wedding alterations.

I bought the perfect dress at a consignment shop and had to get it altered almost 2 sizes smaller in the waist/ bodice. The VERY beaded wide straps had to be shorted almost 3 inches as well. Jo and the team made this dress fit absolutely perfectly! I was so happy and felt so beautiful. They calmed my nerves and worked so well with my timeline! I will be going back for any future alterations!

Amazing! I had my mother's 30-year-old wedding dress reconstructed for my wedding. The end result is beautiful--it looks like a brand new dress! I really enjoyed working with Brenda and appreciated her artistic vision. Thanks for everything!

I had 2 wedding dresses dropped off to get cleaned and preserved. One for my sister, and one for myself. It has been over 2 months now so I figured I’d call and check the status of the dresses. Every single time I call, no one answers. I have now tried calling every weekday for the last week, and no one has answered the phone. I have also left 2 voicemails in the last week, and still.. no one has called me back. Also sent an email today, maybe they know how to work that since clearly they do not know how to use a phone. This is incredibly frustrating and a poor way to run a business. Highly do NOT recommend!!

I just moved to Anoka and was looking for a local alteration place for my wedding dress and this one did not disappoint! From my first appointment (which I accidentally missed) to my last was perfect. They quickly rescheduled me, listened to what I had to say, and made me feel so beautiful. If you are looking for a place to get your wedding dress altered, I couldn’t recommend them more!

The Amazing Alterations team is truly that...AMAZING!!! We had to move our wedding up last minute to accommodate an Army deployment; they got me in as soon as possible and had my dress finished in time and it was perfect.

Amazing alterations had done a great job with my dress! COVID hit right when I was supposed to get my dress, so it delayed everything for me and even though they only had 2 months to help me, they got my 3 appointments booked and helped me with all of the changes that had to be made! There was no stress on their end when some things needed to be altered and their experience made me feel very comfortable and unstressed about getting everything done. Their pricing was very reasonable and I was very happy with everything!! Thank you so much!!

I had a wonderful experience at Amazing Alterations. Initially I was worried when the back strap of my dress needed to be taken out a bit, but Jo assured me it could be done and would look completely normal, which it did. The dress fits like a glove! Jo also made time for me when I requested to have it hemmed a little higher due to my concern RE walking in sand and sinking a little. She fit me in that day and had it re-hemmed in 20 minutes. I had a great experience and would definitely recommend Jo and the team!

I bought my dress in Dallas, TX, but my wedding took place in MN, so I really needed to find someone that knew how to work with all the design on my dress! The team at Amazing Alterations did a great job of altering my sample dress (which was originally a bit too big and had a bit of wear) into the perfect dress for my wedding. I loved the boutique feel and the personal attention from the staff. They did a nice job of offering lots of recommendations but letting me choose what I needed in the end (I ended up choosing not to get the recommended bustle or a hoop because of the nature of my abbreviated COVID wedding, but definitely took the advice of using fashion tape in a couple key locations!) While it was a bit of a drive from my house in the east metro I'd totally recommend this place to others -it was worth it!

Brenda and the whole team did a great job altering my dress a couple of times after I lost weight accidentally and they still managed to have my dress finished on schedule despite the pandemic!

The name says it all! I went to amazing alterations to get my wedding dress altered and it was great! The staff was extremely flexible, helpful and made the entire process effortless and quick!!

Brenda and the team at Amazing Alterations are wish-granters. My dress was beautiful before, but I had many custom alterations to make (sleeves, a belt, extra lace embellishments) along with the basic sizing alterations. I was nervous, but everyone made me feel so comfortable and welcome. Brenda helped me refine my vision for the dress and everything looked flawless. Today, just over 4 months after my wedding, I am still getting compliments on the dress. Plus, the “chick cave” is just the coolest place to be!

I’ve had several dresses altered by Amazing Alterations and ended up going there for my wedding dress. The appointments all felt personalized and they listened to my wants and needs. Even during this time of uncertainty of COVID they still delivered my dress on time and it’s absolutely perfect! I appreciated their commitment to community safety but also to taking care of their brides!

The name of this business is very descriptive, as I truly found them to be amazing! They are very organized and schedule all of the appointments needed, then send a Google calendar invite to ensure accuracy. They listened to my ideas and presented options. Pricing was given up front and listed separately by each alteration, so I knew exactly what I was paying for, and I could add or subtract alterations as the budget allowed. The staff was friendly and reassuring, and I never felt rushed. I especially liked that nothing was done that couldn’t be changed at the next appointment, so I could see everything that had been done and ok it before it was finalized. I was impressed with the fast turnaround, but I would definitely call as soon as possible as appointment times fill up fast, especially during the summer. I felt completely comfortable leaving my dress with them, and I was very happy with the results. I thought that their labor charges were reasonable for the amount of work that some alterations required. I would highly recommend them, as evidenced by the fact that I drove 2 ½ hours each way for multiple fittings. The wonderful service and custom fit of my dress was so worth it!

I used Amazing Alterations for alterations prior to my August 2019 wedding. There were a number of things that caused me to be unsatisfied as a customer. - Every time I came in for an appointment one of the ladies there would pretend to know who I was she’d say “oh you’re the one with so and so” and I’d say no, and she’d come up with some other guess on who I was, even on my first visit in. She’d also ask where my mom was every time, which made me uncomfortable. While my mom was just not present because of other commitments I can imagine this would be upsetting to someone whose mother had passed away or not in their lives. My first few visits with my actual consultant went well, however when it came time for my final fitting there were things very obviously not right with my dress, and the consultant rather than acknowledging my feelings and making it right spent time arguing with me that I was wrong. I was given one option for a bustle which left very visible loops in my milky satin skirt. When I finally received my dress there were multiple snags in the satin skirt of my dress that were not there before alterations. For the price paid for alterations I expected better service and was ultimately disappointed leading me to choose another company to clean/preserve my dress.

My dress was significantly delayed (arriving two and a half weeks prior to my wedding) and just didn’t look the way I had envisioned it would when I first tried it on. Brenda and her team ensured me that they would be able to fix the dress the way I wanted, and would get it done on time no matter what. Not only did my dress turn out amazing, but they were incredible to work with, and helped ease the stress that I felt during the process! I highly recommend them!

AMAZING! She fixed my bust issue with my dress easily. My wedding dress was altered to me perfectly and they made me feel beautiful. I can tell they were busy because of the wait times and a little chaotic when you are there, but they still make you feel important.
