We found Shamika because our venue required a day-of coordinator, but we ended up using her partial-planning package for our wedding and couldn't be happier. Shamika gave us recommendations for our DJ, lighting, dessert, transportation, hotel, and HAMU vendors, and managed the contracts for all of our other vendors as well. She helped us pace ourselves so we weren't overly stressed but also not rushed at the end.
Shamika built our day-of timeline and communicated it in advance with all of our vendors to make sure everything went smoothly. Both of us got to enjoy our whole wedding day, and it was only after the fact that we learned some of the other vendors had little hiccups (traffic delays, vendors needing to go back to get forgotten items, etc.) - Shamika did a flawless job shielding us from the chaos of the day.
She did a great job gauging the guests and adjusting on the fly when we decided to do the cake cutting and bouquet toss earlier than originally planned.
Antonio assisted Shamika with the wedding day and he is awesome! He was instrumental in helping us corral our wedding party so that we could get portrait photos done without interruptions - the bouncer we never expected we'd need, but were so glad we had! Antonio and Shamika also served us our dinner and made sure we always had water and a drink in front of us.
Tramaine put in a ton of work helping us find hotel options and getting our room block in place. She continued to follow up with the hotel to get our final guest list, and helped us coordinate shuttle transportation from the hotel.
Our wedding wouldn't have been anywhere near what it was without Shamika and her team!
Words cannot describe how amazing Shamika and her team at AETR were before, during, and after our wedding. They made our day so seamless and perfect. Not only do they do all the normal things that month of coordinators do, but they also did a complete set up and tear down and clean up of our venue. We truly could not have had the perfect day without them. We highly recommend AETR for your wedding or any other special event!!
Shamika Was by far the most affordable option for our wedding. She did an amazing job and we'd hire her again!
What's the word count on this thing? Because there aren't enough words to truly reflect how amazing Shamika and her team are, but for the sake of this review, I will do my best.
From the very first meeting with Shamika, my now husband and I felt completely understood and supported. Shamika's knowledge and experience in all things wedding related cannot be understated. She was able to ascertain the type of coordination we needed and helped us execute our vision. Shamika was also our go to subject matter expert for every question, detail and need throughout the process and she had a good rapport with every vendor we used. She was communicative and honest with us from beginning to end and we so appreciated her candor and transparency.
Shamika made herself available to us whenever we needed her and when I tell you she comes prepared, I sincerely mean it. On the day of our wedding, we were short some boutonnieres and she was able to use an extra bouquet to make some! She coordinated everything so that we could focus on what really mattered to us. Shamika is the embodiment of ingenuity and her thorough approach made our day so special and memorable.
If you are considering a wedding or event coordinator, Shamika should be at the top of your list. Thank you again for everything!
Shamika and her team did an excellent job. Shamika worked with us and our vendors in the month leading up to our wedding to make sure everything was coordinated. On the wedding day everything went smoothly, and it was great not having to worry about all of the tasks. We also hired bartenders and general staff through AETR, and they did a great job as well. We really enjoyed working with Shamika and highly recommend AETR!
We were more than pleased with the service provided by An Event to Remember. From the start, Shamika was very responsive and helpful with wedding coordination. When the wedding day came, the staff was friendly, helpful, and very competent. We had several wedding guests comment on how friendly the bartenders were. We used several vendors for the wedding, and I believe that Shamika and her staff were the most helpful of all! I would highly recommend hiring her company for staffing and bartending.
Shamika was amazing during the planning and process and the venue and all the other vendors I hired all raved about her so my husband and I were super excited and felt we were in good hands. Our #1 priority for the wedding was to not be stressed, and that is the job of the coordinator and what Shamika promised. Unfortunately, on the wedding day Shamika was not able to show due to a "family emergency" and she left her two assistants who were not part of the main planning process to coordinate the wedding day. First the decor people were not going to put cloths on the family tables, even through they were ordered and if it wasn't for MY MOM checking they would have never had them, guests were coming inside the building while vendors were still setting up instead of being sent outside, they did not sit the families where they needed to be, they forgot to place essential ceremony decor where it belonged, they did not make sure cake was being passed and champagne, and instead of giving the top of the wedding cake and food packed from the caters to us to my mom they gave it to the wrong people. My videographers and photographers did not know exactly where to go all the time and I had to be the one to tell them where to stand and go. Honestly, we were a bit behind due to our officiant being late, and the assistants did the best they could and had great attitudes, but they did not know how to lead, which ultimately causes wedding day stress. My fiance and I were running all over the place the best we could to make sure things were done how we wanted. Its disappointing because we believe if Shamika was there, the promise of it being a stress free day would have rang true, but behind the scenes we couldn't enjoy the day like we wanted. When we talk about what we wish we would've changed for our wedding day, it comes down to coordinator.
Shamika was amazing from start to finish she made she our needs were met and we stayed in budget. The day of ran like an well oiled machine.
Shamika was our saving grace - I was planning a conference which took place the weekend before my wedding, and she helped the wedding be the easier of the two events by her patience, insight, and answering panicked phone calls and texts about any little detail. As for the bar service - we could not have been happier - the staff was so professional and made top notch drinks for our guests.
Shamika was amazing to work with from day 1! She was preferred through our package at The Union in Georgetown, TX. We ended up using her full services & don’t regret it at all! She made our time planning and big day so very special.
At first I was only interested in pricing for day of coordination but once I met Shamika over FaceTime, I knew she was our girl and that the partial planning package was exactly what I needed. She gained my trust immediately and honestly, I do not know what we would have done without Shamika in our corner. Her skills, candor, hustle, creativity, resources, connections and professionalism are unmatched. All of our wedding party and family were so impressed by her and her team (we hired bartending services through her as well). Planning a wedding is already stressful, and add ever changing pandemic conditions to that?! LORD....too much. Shamika was there every step of the way with us, communication was on point from start to finish. Although, I saw her and her teams hustle and grind the day of the wedding, I was relaxed in knowing that she had complete control over it all. Our wedding day was seamless; we cannot recommend Shamika ENOUGH!
When we first met with Shamika from An Event To Remember, we knew we were in great hands! She completely understood our wedding vision, and there was this instant connection. The more we spoke about our dream wedding, we would get more and more excited because we knew Shamika would be able to pull it all together! We used An Event To Remember for bartending services and I would give them 10 stars if I could! We worked with Shamika to plan our bar menu, which included beer, wine, cocktails and two amazing specialty drinks: the Lavender Moscow Mule and the Rosemary Bourbon Sour. The specialty drinks were a hit, and Shamika was able to garnish our drinks with lavender sprigs, provided by us, and rosemary sprigs, provided by her team. We had almost 200 guests at our wedding and they provided excellent service. We also had a whiskey & cigar bar at our wedding and they were able to use one of the bartenders for that specialty bar - it was amazing! The planning process throughout our engagement was so easy and we always felt like we were in great hands. We had a Zoom meeting to make sure we got exactly what we wanted, and Shamika also met us at our venue and helped us determine the best spots to put the bars. She also ordered all of our alcohol through Specs and made sure it was delivered for us, so we didn't have to worry about it. Hire Shamika - you will not regret it!
We paid for the day of coordinator package, and Shamika was SO helpful with all things wedding planning and then ensuring our day ran smoothly. She was very accommodating when our wedding was postponed due to COVID. She went above and beyond her duties and we appreciated her so much. We are so glad we hired An Event to Remember!!
I cannot say enough good things about An Event to Remember! Our wedding day was by the far the most special day of our lives. Shamika and her team literally made our dreams come true. From start to finish, I could not have asked for a more dedicated visionary working to make everything happen. You would never know all the hoops Shamika had to jump through working with our complicated venue because of how truly magical and easy she made our day/weekend. The details to the design and the execution of how everything turned out was beyond expectations. Not to mention gaining a friend through it all to make it even more special! Shamika has a gift and those who experience her become richer because of it. Would recommend a thousand times over and over again!

She was as fierce as I am without me having to deal with the craziness or inevitable last minute issues. As an event planner myself, I think I was most nervous about finding a wedding coordinator who was highly organized in a laid-back manner. Someone who could take my vision and make it a reality, all while not making it more cumbersome for myself or my fiance. Shamika and her team were this and more, and I truly can't recommend them enough. Their calm and collected demeanor, both before and during the big day, put me at ease and allowed me to enjoy what was truly a perfect day that would not have happened without them! They ran with every idea I had and made every vision come true and I can't thank them enough. I would HIGHLY recommend using them for your special event!
Shamika was awesome! When we booked our wedding at Ranch Austin, we were suggested to go with Shamika and it was the best decision of our wedding planning process. She kept us on schedule throughout the year of planning and offered many tips and suggestions that made it a smooth process. Day-of, she was on top of everything and it went perfectly. I was originally contacted by Shamika because she is the preferred vendor at Ranch Austin. We hired her approximately 7 months prior to our wedding, and even though I hired her as a “day of coordinator” she started working with me right away. She took over all communication with the vendors, scheduled appointments for me to see the progress of all the wedding details, and met at the venue with me several times to discuss all the little details. I was planning my wedding in Texas all the way from Colorado, so having her there to guide me and help me with all the behind-the-scenes work while I was away at school was so helpful. Additionally, when it came time to make the wedding timeline and on the wedding day itself, she was very flexible and catered to our needs. Overall, hiring her was a great help that I didn’t even know I needed, so I would highly recommend her if you’re planning a wedding on your own!
We found Shamika / An Event To Remember by way of purchasing a package from Brushy Creek Events. A day-of coordinator and coordinator of vendors was part of that package, and so shortly after signing on with Brushy Creek we were put in contact with Shamika for our day-of-coordination. From the start (maybe 7 or 8 mos before the wedding) Shamika worked with us to determine what rental needs we had and since she had experience working with BCE she provided a lot of insight into what upgrades we may need to consider and what additional things we may need to rent/buy that were not part of the package. She knew what most vendors would be bringing (and what they would not) and whatever she didn’t know, she went and found out. She went WAY above and beyond for us during the planning phases and then knocked it out of the park the day of. Everything went according to plan. Her staff took care of everything and made sure everything went on schedule and that people who needed to know where to be and when. And she did it all with a smile and a friendly attitude. She was invaluable to us and our wedding would not have been the success it was without her. She has many years experience in the biz and it shows. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her and her team!!
I did not have a good experience with working with Shamika. I'm a pretty easy going person and she did not take well to that. She inserted a lot of what she thought should be done into my wedding and questioned a lot of my decisions. On the day of I went over to the cake to add more cake flowers as well as add a couple of finishing touches and she immediately gave me attitude about how I didn't say I wanted more flowers. Mind you I never complained about how the cake was decorated I just wanted to add some more touches on my own. However she apparently took this as a personal attack and got very rude and defensive about it. This was not the only instence of something like this happening. All of my family and friends at the rehearsal we're appalled at how she spoke to me and carried herself the whole evening. She was upset that people were late but we still had plenty of time to practice and the rehearsal basically just so that people could see the venue. She lashed out frequently and rolled her eyes multiple times at me and overall made the day a lot more stressful than it needed to be. She also asked both my husband and mom about getting a tip (probably hoping neither one of them knew about how rude she had been to me throughout the day as well as at the rehearsal). As the bride I should have never been treated how she treated me.
Shamika and event to remember are great to work and very flexible. I'll be the first to admit I'm high maintenance and hate giving control to anyone for fear that things won't end up the way I want but she is super understanding and does her best to give you your perfect vision. My parents were definitely thrilled to be able to relax and enjoy the night without having to worry about making sure everything went smoothly because she was on top of it!
She is also very responsive to email.
I worked with Shamika for my wedding because she was the preferred vendor for ranch Austin. Shamika disappeared for a few hours the day of the event, and didn’t follow through on things she had promised like steaming our table cloths. She allowed a major error to happen, when they made an announcement that the wedding was ending early. She did not have a handle on the timeline, didn’t manage the band, and left out half the wedding party during introductions. She only knows her way and doesn’t make a brides vision happen. She caused me much stress throughout my wedding day and night, I would not recommend her services.
Shamika is magical and she deserves every good thing that comes to her in life. She was our day-of coordinator booked through Brushy Creek Events, and I feel she consistently went above and beyond what I would have expected from her. When BCE confusion and vendor issues before the wedding stressed me out, she calmed me down and helped me figure it out. When the wedding day itself became a shitshow (and oh did it become a shitshow - torrential downpour, last second vendor cancellations... you name the bad thing, it happened on our wedding day), Shamika took the reins, called in backup, and miraculously pulled it off. We had a beautiful ceremony and a wonderful time, and I cannot believe she managed to make it happen! We're legitimately considering naming our first born after her haha. Basically, words cannot describe how highly I recommend her. Thank you Shamika - you have no idea how much your efforts mean to us.

Shamika was by far one of the most amazing professionals I have ever worked with in this industry. She had me just sit back and let her do the work. I was so nervous and anxious, but she took a hold of everything. My wedding was so memorable and it was beautiful and there's no way I could have done it without her. Shamika was my girl!! She worked with me for a year before the wedding and set everything up for my wedding exactly how I imagined it! We have a pretty rowdy group and she was able to still get everyone’s attention to run the show. You can’t do any better than her!
Shamika is a rockstar! My husband and I hired her as our wedding day coordinator! She helped us connect with some of her preferred vendors and got some discounts. She created our wedding day timeline, set-up, executed a rain plan (which luckily we did not end up needing). She arrived at 12pm and started setting up on our wedding day and communicated with me a few times, but mostly stayed out of sight and everything went perfect thanks to her and not even feeling like she was around. She is professional, listens to what you want and also has some great suggestions! I would definitely recommend her for your wedding for your day of coordinator. It was so stress free to have someone run the whole event so my family and my husbands family could just relax and get ready and enjoy themselves the whole day!

We met Shamika at a venue open house. Right off the bat we knew we wanted to hire her for her services. We chose the 'Simply Details' package which includes day-of coordination as well as communicating with and visiting vendors and providing input. Shamika was our ROCK when unexpected changes occurred (oohh there were many..). Her professionalism is top-notch and the women who help her on the day-of were great. An Event to Remeber is who you are looking for! Shamika was always available leading up to my wedding to get quotes and/or send me recommendations to check out myself. All the fun stories you read on all the wedding websites always seem to be the “ideal” situations, well it rained on our wedding day...her team was AWESOME they moved everything around like it was nothing, and it was even MORE beautiful than I hadn’t planned. As a wedding venue owner, I have had the opportunity to work with many great coordinators and planners. An Event to Remember is the best, and I did not think twice about booking them for my wedding. Shamika is kind, organized and knows what works well and what looks good. She kept me on track throughout the planning process and was there to answer every question and to bounce ideas off of. An Event to Remember made sure my day was perfect and absolutely beautiful. I was in contact with Shamika from the very first day I contacted her up until the day of the wedding. She helped me with every detail from cake tastings, floral appointments, linen selection, the whole nine. I was able to text, call, or email Shamika day or night with ideas, questions, or concerns. The morning of the wedding we learned I didn't have enough table runners Shamika and her staff went out of their way the day of to make sure I got my extra runners and even additional vases I didn't know were needed. An Event to Remember does great work, very elegant events. Shamika is very professional and easy to work with. I would recommend her to anyone planning a wedding, party, or any other event. My husband and I are very satisfied with the service we received.

Shamika was amazing!! I hired her a little late in the game and she was all about playing catch up and making sure she knew everything that was going on. She was one of the few coordinators that I interviewed that offered to do full clean up after the reception (anything the rest of vendors would not do). She responded quickly when I reached out and was always willing to help with no complaints or hesitation. Her positive and chipper attitude is infectious! Shamika was so wonderful to work with. I do not know what we would have done without her! We used the day of coordinator service she provided. It was her and one other assistant. We were so pleased with how the whole event flowed. Anything that needed to be done she was already doing. My husband and I, along with our families and friends, were able to sit back and relax the day of our wedding. Shamika contacted all of my vendors prior to the event to make sure everyone was on the same page. She contacted me and provided suggestions to help me find vendors and make sure I had all the other big details in place during the 2 months leading up to our wedding. She also came up with and provided the vendors a timeline to make sure our day went accordingly. Shamika and her staff did everything we asked them to and were very professional. I felt like she was a good friend and was determined to have our event go the way we planned.
When our family friend cancelled on us a week before our wedding for the decor set-up I was overwhelmed to say the least. Luckily, Shamika and her team came to our rescue. Shamika was amazing- professional, friendly, organized, knowledgeable, basically everything you would want for a day of wedding coordinator. Shamika met with us beforehand to make sure she was aware of what we were looking for the decor set-up and the overall feel for the day and she immediately understood my vision which was another huge relief. Shamika at Event to Remember was an absolute delight to work with! I hired her and her staff to help with Day-of event planning and she was AMAZING. I honestly couldnt' have made it through the day without all of her help. Her staff helped set up everything, she helped me with the flow and design, she was there to make sure everything ran on time and she did it all with a smile on her face! Even though I hired her for just DAY of planning, she helped a lot leading up to the big day. We had two walk throughs and went through all the details of set-up and she nailed everything. I had all the details listed out for her and everything was done perfectly. When we ran out of pies for dessert, she even went around with some indian sweets and offered it to our guests in case they didn't get a pie. She was on TOP of everything. She was fantastic and I feel so lucky and happy to have had her on our big day!
Shamika did a great job on our wedding. Before the ceremony she helped us out with recommendations for vendors and owned up to any issues or questions concerning these vendors. During the ceremony she and her assistent coordinated all the vendors and were still available for questions and last minute changes.
