We used Angel Food Catering for our wedding at Sutton Barn and they did an amazing job. They were the most responsive caterer we reached out to and we liked their menus options, so we went with them. Great experience with Angel Food Catering for our 6/1/24 wedding. Communication was good. Anytime I had an email question, they responded quickly. Price was reasonable, but did add up to be more than I hoped for. Most importantly, the food was great! So many of my guests raved about how good the food was. All of the staff were excellent. Highly recommend. We had buffet service with 6 servers. They added silk flowers at the buffet and made sure the buffet matched my colors.
We booked Angel Food Catering for our wedding day and couldn't have been more happy with the service they provided. They are experts and it showed during the entire process. They were caring, detail-oriented, and willing to support us in whatever way we needed. Everyone at the wedding was raving about the food! To top it off their pricing was very reasonable. I would recommend them to any that asks.

When my daughter, who always swore she would get married in a courthouse, asked me to help her plan her wedding, I was thrilled but had some trepidation. But all that went away when she decided on Angel Food Catering. There aren’t words to say how wonderful, accommodating, patient and thorough Judy and her team are. From the initial consultation where every cup and cracker and detail is examined through the incredibly thorough communication throughout and when we actually received a handwritten thank you note after the event, everything went smooth and perfectly. Judy is a wealth of information but if she wasn’t a caterer, she could negotiate world peace.
She works perfectly with my daughter’s vision, kept me in the loop and was able to guide us through a process that brought my daughter and I closer….and we were always close. HOW many times do you hear THAT from moms and daughters? :)
The food was perfect, service outstanding, atmosphere incredible and unique (the website won’t let me post a picture).
If you want an incredibly fun wedding planning experience, outstanding food and drink and know exactly what you are spending, look no further than Angel Food Catering. You will be so happy you did.

Wow! Just wow! Angel Food Catering was recommended to us by 2 separate friends that had used them on their wedding day and holy crap am I glad I listened! Judy was absolutely hands down incredible to work with. She knocked it out of the park with details and organization bringing to life everything I was looking for. From our very first consult, I knew I was going to love her and she did not disappoint.
And the food! Omg! Absolutely amazing! The best wedding food I have ever had! Our guests absolutely RAVED about the food!

My son's wedding was at "The Garage" with Angel Food Catering, September 23, 2023, Best choice ever!! We had the seasoned meatballs and stuffed herb and cheddar mushrooms, as Hors d'Oeuvres, they were amazing. The braised pot roast and redskin mashed potatoes are full of flavor, everything hot, nothing running out. Thank you for delivering a meal to my guests that I could be proud of. Not only do you get fabulous food, you get Judy Maynard lead wedding coordinator. Judy cares about her clients and go's the extra mile to make things perfect. Planning my son's wedding with Judy was wonderful. Lastly, should you choose to have your event at "The Garage", the facility is huge, with endless possibilities in decorating, yet if you have a smaller crowd that works too. The bar is roomy and easy to access.

Angel Food Catering was a pleasure to work with. We were so grateful to have them cater our wedding at the Stone Chalet B&B. Maghen was very sweet and responsive. where do i even start. I absolutely do NOT recommend this caterer. we paid $20k to this caterer for our wedding , expecting it to be the BEST food (as good as our taste testing) and it turned out to be a DISASTER. from the food to the service!!
⁃ arrived with no plates!
⁃ No forks
⁃ No ice
⁃ Steaks were not 8oz, it was a teriyaki glaze steak and There were no glaze on it! It was as hard as a rock! Out of 160 plates 145 of them were so hard it was not edible! There was No glaze on ANY of them!!!!
⁃ on site Rachael said her staff was young and inexperienced - she did not want them droppig any plates, which is why they brought out 2 plates at a time instead of a full tray. The service was unbelievably slow and the food was cold!
⁃ Dessert table was not even set up! 7 pm I looked over and it is EMPTY!
⁃ There was supposed to be 16 servers, there was maybe 10
⁃ Valet couldn’t set up by the doors because catering was not done setting up ! My guest could not enter th venue because of this huge delay!!
⁃ Cake service was not provided , we paid.
⁃ Servers had no idea what to do, they did not clear ANY plates or Glasses! They just stood around!
⁃ Service lasted 1hr 42mins. UNACCEPTABLE!
⁃ When the dessert was finally brought to be set up, the cupcakes were all mashed up and there were no plates or napkins on the table!
⁃ We hired bar staff through angel food and had them scheduled until 12am. At 11:45 pm I was told they shut the bar down!!!!!
When I called to talk to our sales girl and the “owner” all I was given was excuses and $500 back. I absolutely do not recommend this caterer. Look elsewhere!

As we did when we spoke on the phone, I'll go through and touch base on each of these.
-First, the refund was to compensate for the steak issue primarily, since together we identified that as the main issue. The cost of the steak alone came to $1,900. We have rectified this with our Owner, Mike Maynard, who takes complaints very seriously and gave you a generous refund. We greatly apologize that some of the steaks were more well done than medium.
Our Chef takes great pride in what he produces, our staff who ate after your party had no complaints on the size, cook, or anything else about the steak.
-Per our rental company's information, our china arrived onsite at your home at 10:30AM. They didn't have our forks. However, our events are structured in such a way that we can accommodate for simple issues like that without a worry. You should not ever worry about what goes on behind the scenes, that's our job. In the end, you received every single piece of china you paid for. The plates were there the whole time?
-We had all the ice required for our service.
It was clearly marked in our contract on multiple areas & communicated very clearly between us on more than one occasion that you were responsible for the bar ice.
Throughout the planning process you frequently brushed off the things I told you were required, this was one of them.
-We do what's called a swarm service. Carrying 2 plates per server is standard for us, that's how Angel Food expedites our service.
I just want to note that with 8 guests per table, & 10 servers carrying 2 plates each allows us to consistently serve guest after guest. The same way it's done whether or not the food comes out on a tray.
-We had 21 staff onsite for your event that included Managers, Chefs, Servers & Bartenders, 10 of which were just serving the tables. We had one new person who was training, you did not pay for that server, they were just there in addition. A large factor in Angel Food's success has been utilizing & encouraging the ambition of young business people. Instead of the third party temps that you will find at other caterers, we have college students & friends of the church that work for us.
-There is absolutely nothing about our setup that would cause a delay with your valet. We do not even park on the driveway at home events.
However, during set up our staff helped your neighbor, who was coordinating, move tables & chairs. In addition, we executed the champagne service that your "coordinator" was responsible for. She let us know she had no idea she was responsible for that.
- Not only did we cut the cake that you purchased from us, we also served cake to your guest tables. You had a 3 tiered cake in which you rented somewhere else. I asked you to please do your cake cutting ceremony as you came in for your grand entrance to ensure there were no delays. You did not do that. Our staff cannot cut a cake that you have yet to cut, that is not proper etiquette. Our event manager did finally cut a layer of that after you had gotten your photos.
I also want to note that I had told you on the phone that you were ordering too many desserts, I was ignored.
-You mentioned we didn't have plates, but you also mentioned that we didn't clear the plates. We could not have served a plated meal & plated dessert if we didn't clear your tables per course.
Your group went through the bar glassware QUITE quickly. We cleared all of the glassware & then purchased additional plastic ware for you, without a charge & continued to clear that until our departure.
-You had a plated meal that you did not provide place cards for signaling to our staff what meals should be served. I clearly stated to you on the phone & in 2 different emails that if you do not provide those for us, we are not responsible for delays in your service. But alas, there were no delays in service regardless. Dinner started at 6:30PM & we were serving dessert by 7:10PM. We served 160 plated salads & plated meals, without signal cards, in 40 minutes.
-Dessert Service started at 7:15PM per the timeline you approved. We had a plated dessert service to your tables & hand held items at the table. We did have a tray of cupcakes that weren't up to our standards. The $42 for that was accounted for in your refund. We apologize.
-Last call was 11:45PM. That is in your timeline. You were not present at the end of the night. Our Event Manager had to discourage your crowd from stealing beverages from our coolers. At 12:30AM we checked out with the owner of the home, at which point your guests were grabbing alcohol that was stored away & continued to drink after our departure.
In closing, we've addressed your points, we sent you a refund for the items we felt were not up to our quality standards. We truly care about every event & it hurts us to know that you were so unhappy you felt the need to leave such an escalated review.
Angel food catering was a dream to work with! We worked with Judy who was so kind, so organized and really was like a mini planner for our wedding. She has tons of experience in the industry and helped us with questions I wouldn’t have even known to ask! The process from planning to tasting to payments was made so easy. When the big day finally came, the food was amazing, the staff worked seamlessly and our guests said it was the best wedding food they’ve ever had. I highly recommend Angel food for any catering needs!

Angel Food Catering did an amazing job with our wedding. I didn’t get to see it in person as I was taking family photos but they created a charcuterie table that was simply beautiful. All of our guests raved about it. The dinner was served buffet style, but the line went smoothly and the food was so fresh and hot. We also had a late night snack of coney dogs and pretzels and beer cheese and it was a great way to finish the night. From the beginning of our booking Angel Food Cake was so welcoming and made sure we knew that we could ask them questions at anytime, and during our meetings prior to our wedding day, not only did they double check that all of the food was planned to our liking, but they checked in with the bar, cake and decor too to make sure that they coordinated everything to make our day seamless. I will definitely be reaching out to them next time I need catering services!
I found Angel Food Catering through the Knot. They were a pleasure to work with and I would recommend them to anybody! The food was amazing and I had people asking me where it was from all night! It was the best food I have ever had at a wedding! The staff was attentive, professional and made the night run smoothly. During the planning stages, Lyndsay was very professional and helped me plan and go over all the details. She made me feel very comfortable and provided feedback and advice along the way. Judy was our main contact for our wedding and she was SO wonderful. Erica also helped a lot and she was just as great. Super responsive, kind, knowledgeable and detailed. We had a big crowd of ~150 approximately 2 hours away from their site, and we were soooo concerned the food wouldn't hold or be hot. However, it was INCREDIBLE. Hors duerves were great and just perfect after ceremony/pictures. Dinner was to die for, the stuffed Florentine chicken was juicy and flavorful, pasta was perfect and al dente, salad was crisp, buns were toasty, BBQ sliders amazing, literally everything couldn't have been better. Their staff on site were also super great and I barely noticed them as they went about their jobs like a well oiled machine. We did two trials with them as the first couple chickens we tried weren't our favorites and Judy recommended we pick something that would travel better, and it was well worth the cost and the additional interaction with them. She helped us choose the menu and it was a hit! Tons of people told us the food was incredible and that was really important to us. We highly recommend you go with Angel Food!

I just got married on May 15th and AFC was so fantastic in so many ways! Judy was an absolute angel the whole year that I planned with her and let me tell you, planning a wedding during COVID has been stressful! But Judy took the time to make the process so easy. In our phone calls and meetings, she was always so flexible, accommodating and warm - she made me feel like an old friend right from the beginning.
Judy also went out of her way during the reception to reach out to my mom and offer assistance with getting dinner, as my stepdad has some difficulty getting around these days. This small gesture meant so much! Erica also stayed to help the whole night and assisted with setting up, decorating and tearing down. She was such a sweetheart.
The food was absolutely amazing (I think I heard how delicious the spinach artichoke dip was at least 100 times and also WOW at the Steak Diane and Yukon gold mashed potatoes 😋), the donut table they set up was so beautiful and the staff were so organized and helpful.
Do yourself a favor and hire them for your wedding or any other big event you may have coming up. Best catering company ever, from the food to the customer service. 20/10!
Angel Food Catering was so pleasant to work with and their food was delicious and loved by all at the wedding. Throughout the process we worked with Erica and Judy and they were great. Very responsive and on top of things. They worked with us all through the pandemic to keep us updated on their operation status and overall precautions they would be taking. When the day of the wedding came, their staff was professional, and all our guests loved their food. The Alfredo is a must. Rave reviews from everyone. We booked Angel Food Catering for a wedding reception at the Ypsilanti Freighthouse in December '19. Erica was our coordinator through AFC and did a fantastic job. Everything was well explained, food was great, everything ran on time, and (thanks to Erica) AFC the easiest vendor to work with by far. The experience shows.
Thank you SO MUCH to Erica and her team for putting on such an incredible wedding for us this past Saturday. Every single detail was accounted for and we loved the extra touches like the gold banner under the food & getting to pick personalized colors for our linens!! We got so many compliments on the food all night (especially the ravioli, the vegan dishes & the corned beef!!). We appreciate you all so much, thank you! ♥️

Angel Food Catering's food was out of this world! My guests kept coming up to me saying how much they loved the food. I was so happy to hear this.
Working with their wedding coordinator was great, too. There was a lot of back-and-forth via email, but all in all it was wonderful. Shout out to the team who kept a plate of appetizers for me on the side! Most brides aren't able to find time for their appetizers, but they made sure I had a plate to myself.
In the end, the food was AMAZING, and that's all that really mattered.

But on top of that, we used them for their coordinating services and are SO SO thankful! Planning a wedding is hard enough, but Judy knows exactly what she’s doing! I found Angel Food Catering via The Knot and I'm so glad I did! Judy, who is just the best & sweetest, was our main point person for our event, and we occasionally worked with Erica who was also great!
They were easy to contact and responded promptly, answering all our questions thoroughly. Every invoice was super detailed (you know exactly what costs what), the tasting opportunity was well worth it and all the food was absolutely fantastic! Their Sun-dried Tomato Veggie pasta was my favorite and I was so happy to have leftovers of it! Also, they were super accommodating about our need for some vegan meals for a few guests. Additionally, we ordered our "kitchen cakes" from Angel Food and our guests have raved about it since - especially the Heath Toffee Chocolate cake! They were the most organized of all our vendors which although we did not hire them for any coordination services allowed us to have peace of mind.
Judy is a wedding wizard! She worked with us every step to coordinate rental items, select a menu that would appeal to all our guests (my husband and I aren't picky eaters but some of our beloved family are LOL), and helped us find cost savings wherever possible without compromising our needs and wants for the day!
The staff on the day of the wedding were very friendly, professional and efficient. Plus, they made our dinner plates for us and delivered them to the table!
I would truly recommend Angel Food Catering for anyone's wedding. They will make sure your day is smooth, sophisticated, special, and that your guests leave happy & full!

Working with Angel Food was absolutely wonderful. Erica and Judy made sure that our wedding was the perfect day. From the big picture to all the nitty gritty details, Erica was there for me to talk to and ask questions. We had a venue where there was A LOT to coordinate, with many different vendors all coming in. Erica handled all of that beautifully. I always felt comfortable that the day was going to be perfect. They were full of advice when I needed it, which was often. I can't recommend them enough just from a planning perspective, and I haven't even talked about the food yet! ALL of our guests said the food was some of the best they've had at a wedding. We got tons of compliments on all the decor, the rotation around the venue and using the whole huge space, and of course, the food. I was so happy to have both Erica and Judy there the whole day. They also recommended their in-house florist, who was an absolute joy to work with as well. If I ever have any catering needs in the future, I wouldn't hesitate to use Angel Food Catering! Our wedding venue referred us to Angel Food Catering and right off the bat there communication was the most prompt and informative we had experienced. The first consultation call really laid the groundwork for us to build on, the invoice was extremely detailed, the tasting opportunity was well worth it and all the food was phenomenal, and they stayed in communication with us and stuck to the timeline.
We worked directly with Erica who works primarily on their wedding packages. Erica helped make our experience with Angel Food truly enjoyable. She helped coordinate rental items, set-up the purchase and delivery of alcohol and helped us customize a menu that fit our personalities and the season. She encouraged us to consider pot roast as one of our dinner options because it was “fall comfort food” and one of the best tasting dishes they offered. We were a little apprehensive because it is non-traditional and of course, we still getting calls and emails about how amazing it was! I have to say… Erica even helped me redesign our floorplan, consider cost savings and responded to every single email promptly.
The staff on the day of the wedding were very friendly and professional. Everyone paid specific attention to us as the bride and groom, making sure we had time to snack, drink and then even made our dinner plates for us and delivered them to the table.
I would truly recommend Angel Food Catering to anyone planning an event with Catering needs, not just other couples planning a wedding. They will make sure your day is a success and your guests leave well fed and happy!

We used them for Both the rehearsal dinner and reception. The food was amazing! Judy was wonderful and so helpful! We felt like we were family. The day of all of the staff was awesome and super thoughtful!
AFC was amazing for our wedding. We had an outdoor ceremony, and they not only provided our amazing food, but coordinated all of our rentals, did our cake and cupcakes (which were so tasty!), and provides our bartender. They were the only company we found for multiple services that provided a reasonable pricing to do both. Combining services made our day so much easier! They were very professional, and took so much pressure off me. Everything was delicious, they had tons of options, and their set up looked beautiful. They were a joy to work with and I would highly recommend them for your special day!

Angel Food went above and beyond our expectations for our wedding at the Belle Isle Casino. We used them for both catering and the day-of-coordinator package.
The food was delicious and we received so many compliments from guests on how great it was. We wanted to have a fall themed dinner and they really worked with us to plan a menu that fit with the theme. The servers were excellent and very prompt at clearing the tables after the dinner was over.
Without Erica coordinating our wedding, I'm not sure how it would have come together. She helped take the vision we had and turn it into a reality. I was a bit of a crazy bride and sent a number of e-mails with questions and wedding ideas. Erica was always so kind and quick to respond to all of them. Her and her team did such an amazing job setting everything up. It looked prettier than we ever could have imagined.
Every one of their employees that we talked to during the wedding planning process was so sweet and helpful. They took so much of the headache out of wedding planing. I really can't recommend Angel Food enough.
Angel Food was on the preferred vendors list for my venue and I fully support that decision! Judy and her team made me feel welcome even after the long phone calls, countless emails, and last minute changes. Most importantly, the staff went above and beyond the day of. When the cocktail hour bartender saw some of my bridal party moving the lawn games out from under the tent before it was taken down, they offered to handle it so everyone could enjoy the party. We didn't have a tasting beforehand, which made my mom pretty nervous, but the food was phenomenal and honestly some of the best I have ever had. So many of our guests said the same thing. I loved my experience with Angel Food! :)
All our guests commented on how delicious the food was. When we did our trial, everything was good and it was hard to narrow down what options we wanted. They prepared a vegan meal for one of our guests as well. We also had Angel Food cater our day after brunch which was just as wonderful as the night before.
My guests could not stop commenting on how good the food was at the wedding. My friend happened to be at the last table served and she commented on how the food was still hot when she got there. She said that was a sign of a good caterer. They made a diary free plate for a child that was allergic to diary and brought extra vegetarian, just in case. The staff was wonderful. At the end of the evening, they packed up the left overs and helped me carry stuff down the stairs. They went above and beyond to make sure that everything was just perfect. It was perfect.
Angel Food did our wedding reception last March and they were fantastic from start to finish. We got to taste our food right on the first meeting and knew that they would be a great. We did a "breakfast" wedding reception, which is a little more out-of-the box, but Angel Food understood our vision and made it work. The food was incredible. All of our guests were commenting on the quality, taste and variety of the food. Everything was wonderful. They also presented everything very nicely and made sure that it fit our theme to a "t". My wife and I give Angel Food our highest recommendation. Book them now!

My husband and I had Angel Food Catering for our reception. From the beginning, Judy worked with us and created an amazing menu. She had various vendors that we used through her as well for the photobooth, bartenders, and alcohol. She took care of coordinating with these various vendors as well as our reception site. She greatly helped reduced my stress, as I was planning a wedding from another state. She was so friendly and genuinely wanted the best for our wedding. The food was simply amazing. From the warm rolls at the beginning of dinner to the tender chicken with dinner. Myself, husband, and family and friends were all impressed and just raved about how great the food tasted! She has a huge menu that you can select any and all food that you could ever dream of. It was so easy to choose our appetizers, salads, entrees, and sides. They even decorated the buffet table to make it look so nice. She thought of everything. We even had it be a served buffet, so guests would go up to the buffet and the servers would serve them. Which added a classier touch, since we did not have a plated dinner.
All in all, if any bride is thinking about having a caterer for their wedding. Choose Angel Food Catering!! You will not be disappointed!! I would happily use them again and again!

My husband and I hired Angel Food to do the deserts for our wedding, as well as a luncheon the day after. From start to finish, it was so easy working with the people here. They were professional, accommodating, and incredibly pleasant. And the food was amazing! I had tons of people asking about the desserts (we had a mini dessert bar), and the next day at the luncheon there was hardly any food left. I cannot honestly say enough good things about his company. They are amazing!

We recently were married at the Matthaei Botanical Gardens in Ann Arbor. After looking at catering options, we set up a meeting with Judy at Angel Food. Not only was she completely helpful and understanding of our budget, she suggested lots of great things to add and change to our wedding that made it elegant and stylish.
The food was FANTASTIC! We had a pasta bar, so everyone could choose what they wanted to eat (we had every kind of picky eater: diabetics, pescatarian, vegetarian, vegan, nut allergy, lactose intolerant). It's been three weeks, and we keep having our guests come back to us and tell us how good the food was!
The staff of Angel Food were also very helpful at the wedding - the chef in charge knew what was going on, and it was so nice to have someone running things; and he did it very unobtrusively. The bartender was excellent as well; helpful, funny, and well deserving of the tips he earned, because he didn't just bartend, he helped out, too!
