I do have a lot to say about this venue- both good and bad. I’ll start off with saying that my actual wedding turned out beautiful, and I couldn’t have asked for a better night. The food was great, and the property is amazing.
Now for the tough part.
We booked this venue for our wedding about a year or so in advance. I think we paid a reasonable price for about 150 guests. From the beginning, Mrs Linda was a bit pushy on decisions she wanted me to make for my wedding, but I brushed it off and continued with what I wanted to do. No big deal! Rehearsal was a breeze and we eventually came back on the Friday to decorate and get things ready. I spoke to the owners a good bit in advance, and they let me know we could set up whatever we needed the day before with no issues! I got to the venue Friday, eager to set up and get things rolling. There was a table my fiancé moved a bit to the left, just to use as a desert table. (This will be important later). We asked to get into one of the outside rooms to set up, a worker said it might be locked and she would check. We waited a few minutes and didn’t see her again, but I noticed the back side door was unlocked, so I just went around to avoid having to take time from them. When I opened the front door, an alarm went off. This is when all hell broke loose. Mrs Linda came out spitting fire at me. She was berating me and getting in my face about moving a table, and saying we “pried her antique doors open” which we did not do in the slightest! I was already stressed )(wedding jitters) and this was just not something I could handle. She continued on to corner me and get in my face, hands and all. My fiancé had to step in. From there, we were all fighting. Her accusing us of things we didn’t do, or didn’t know we couldn’t do, and us trying to explain how things actually happened. When I say we were ALL yelling- I almost took a refund and canceled the wedding. It was really bad. Never in my life have I ever talked to a client or treated a client the way I was (and my whole family) treated by this woman.
After things died down, I do believe she apologized to my fiancé and things went very well on the day of the wedding. I just can not shake the fact that she got into my (the brides) face, day before I’m supposed to get married, what should be the happiest time of my life! There was way more yelling and fighting about things, but that about sums it up. I cried five times that day.
I really only recommend this venue if you’re okay with basically letting someone else take full control of your wedding for you. If you want to have things your way, please, find another venue!
Beautiful grounds and place to have a wedding ceremony. The food was outstanding and the services were excellent.
Let me start with the place is beautiful. Now with that being said the owner was rude. The night before we arrived for our rehearsal. All the lights were off. I called to let Mrs. Linda know that we were there and if someone could turn on the lights. Linda told me that she didn’t think I was getting married because I didn’t call her a few days before. I told her no ma’am we are still getting married. Nothing changed since the last time we spoke. We got off the phone and she turned on lights. She comes up to me and tells me again I thought you weren’t getting married. I said We are still getting married, We already spoke about it. She asked when? So I showed her our text. She asked when was this? I said September. She said Well that was 2 months ago you need to call a few days before. That’s not how it works. Next time I need to call. She repeated it over and over during the rehearsal. We kept telling her there is no next time. She was rude to me in front of everyone. She also felt the need to keep telling me she gave me a deal, that she charges full price even for ceremony only. I swear I kept a smile on my face the entire time. That’s all I could do or she would have ruined my day. Linda was rude to my reverend and coordinator. Insisted on showing them how to do things and tried to make them look incompetent. After my coordinator had to tell her that we got this, things began to get better. Dragon lady stepped aside and we finished our rehearsal. I am so grateful that she was not around for the wedding. Had linda been there I’m pretty sure she would have ruined my wedding day. I was warned by many vendors about her. I guess I had to find out first hand.
Mrs. Linda made sure that we had the wedding of our dreams. She catered to every need that we had and made sure not a hair was out of place. For example, our wedding cake when delivered by another vendor turned out not to be what we wanted. Mrs. Linda saw my face of shock and disappointment and went right to work to make sure that it was a work of art. I guarantee you no other venue would even bat an eye to completely restore your wedding cake. She even opened up her own house for me to take some of the most beautiful bridals in. If my husband and I had a nickel for every guest that complimented our decorations (all done by Mrs. Linda) and venue, we'd be rich! Everyone loved the relaxed atmosphere! There was plenty of seating around the venue so not everyone was forced to remain on the dance floor. I just know that anywhere our photographer shot pictures is going to turn out beautiful. You can tell that Mrs. Linda loves her job and even more her brides and grooms. She took care of our family like it was her own. I would go through the stress of preparing for a wedding to get married here again.
My mom and step-dad were married here 5 years ago and I fell in love then. When it came time to plan my own wedding, I couldn't have made a better choice in venue. The owners are absolutely wonderful and Mrs. Linda handled just about everything for me. The food was exquisite, the grounds are stunning, the staff is friendly, and the overall vibe is just great! I HIGHLY recommend Antique Rose Ville to any and everyone.
