A Beautiful Historic Estate Founded by Love
Holds ceremonies and receptions
Antrim 1844 was an incredible venue for our wedding. Having the food, alchohol, set up and teardown, and a place to stay made our experience so easy. Our amazing coordinator, Katie, was a pleasure to work with and always responsive and on top of things that needed to get done. She gave us so many little ideas of things we hadn't even thought of yet during our talks prior and this wedding would not have been nearly so perfect without her help. Reed from the front desk who did our room bookings was incredible as well, super kind and worked with us as guests were being indecisive etc. The banquet manager was so easy to work with as well. He was flexible and open to last minute changes and took away a lot of our stress.
If you are looking to book a venue, I think you would be hard-pressed to find a place that offers the elegance and beauty at a price-point like this. We HIGHLY recommend the steak and brie crostinis as a appetizer - they were a crowd favorite!!! We also got mojitos and cosmos for our signature drinks and hands-down, best mojito I've ever had.
The accommodations were 100% worth the cost for our guests; being able to go straight to their rooms once they tapped out from partying was worth it. We also booked basically the whole mansion for our wedding party which made getting ready and running around the morning before the wedding super easy. Highly recommend. (They had robes, slippers, thoughtful touches in every room....and the beds were honestly so comfortable and lush.) We felt like a million bucks.
They are also 100% LGBTQ+ friendly and were super happy to host our gay little wedding :)

I cannot recommend the Antrim 1844 enough for your wedding day. Not only are the grounds stunning but the staff go above and beyond to make your special day perfect. If anything went wrong I didn’t know about it because they were already on top of it! Additionally, so many of our guests raved at how good the food was compared to other weddings they had attended.
From the day we selected the venue, the venue coordinator Jill was so helpful, attentive, and quick to address any questions. I trusted her completely with helping to make my wedding vision come to life.
My husband and I are so excited to come back to the Antrim for future anniversaries!!

From the age of 5, he watched in awe as his great-grandmother cooked wholesome meals in the kitchen. At the age of 13, he started as a dishwasher and later on graduated from The Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York. He has worked at 2941 in Falls Church, VA as the Saucier and served as the Executive Chef at Vermilion in Alexandria, VA before venturing to his new home in the summer of 2022 at Antrim 1844! Today, he remains passionate about learning new techniques and teaching aspiring culinary professionals. “Food is a real representation of who you are and where you came from. People can look at a single ingredient and think of so many different things to do with it and that varies from person to person,” said Executive Chef, Inti. “Everyone can share an idea and that’s how we grow.”

- Dort and Richard MollettOwnersDorothy (Dort) and Richard Mollett were in their mid thirties when they purchased Antrim. Their passion for restoring multiple beautiful historic homes in the Baltimore area led them on this journey. They had two children and two dogs and invested a tremendous amount of energy into the restoration of Antrim 1844. The lovely estate and mansion had been deserted for more than 50 years and none of the heating, plumbing, and electricity were functional. It was empty of any furnishings and the grounds were totally overgrown. Mollett's vision originally was to renovate the exquisite Greek Revival Mansion and live there while operating a small Bed & Breakfast. Richard instinctively became the General Contractor overseeing the historic restoration while Dort leaned on her background as an Interior Designer. Today, Antrim 1844 Country House Hotel has 40 beautifully decorated guest rooms, 11 repurposed houses, and breathtaking formal gardens throughout the 24 acre estate. A vision, dedication, and hard work have brought Antrim 1844 and The Smokehouse Restaurant to life, making it a truly memorable luxurious lodging experience.

taff was incredibly friendly and easy to work with. Jill was fantastic from the very first meeting we had. We first thought we would be planning a micro wedding on a Sunday or Thursday (because I wasn't interested in a Monday-Wednesday wedding), but were pleasantly surprised to learn that a Saturday date was available that we could work with. We planned our entire wedding in 4 months, which meant several decisions had to be made very quickly. Jill did not make us feel rushed to make any decisions, and worked with us on all of our timelines. We never felt pressured to make different choices, or pressured for "add-ons" to spend more money. Our wedding was absolutely flawless, even with last minute changes we needed to make due to high winds. The bridal suite was gorgeous, the food was delicious, and the staff was so attentive to every need we had. Jill's event assistants, Breezy and Mandy, were phenomenal. Breezy carried my dress down the aisle until I made my final approach to the altar, they both took care of our large bridal party during our cocktail hour photos, and they checked on us several times throughout the reception to ensure we had everything we needed. Everyone at Antrim 1844 truly helped create lasting memories for me, my husband, and our entire family. It was truly a great experience and a picture perfect wedding, and we would not change a single thing about our experience at Antrim 1844.

g for a May wedding and I really appreciated how the pavilion reception space had two areas to separate the dance floor, dinner space, and even an outdoor space for those that need to cool off. One of my favorite parts of the wedding was the ability to use the first floor bar for our after party. It was very convienent and easy to transition. We were able to provide late night bites as well. The coordination team is very easy going and work hard to make your vision come true. The venue only comes with a day of coordinator but I loved that the day of coordinator was the same person from day 1 giving us our tour, who we communicated with when weighing our options, who executed the contact, and carried out all vendor coordination up to the wedding and the day of. If you are someone who likes to be fully involved through the planning process and need a person to trust to carry out the plan on the day of, this is the place. The food is also UNBELIEVABLE. We had a large party of about 175 guests and everyone raved about how well their food was cooked and how quickly it was served. This venue is so unique in that it’s a small resort feel without many outside guests but still lots of space to explore. I do suggest letting the men use the provided getting ready suite and for renting a house on the grounds for the ladies as our hair and makeup team appreciated having more space to setup in the house versus the hotel room they setup in for previous weddings. There’s really not enough words to describe how amazing this venue is. So thankful they were able to give us our dream wedding. I want to give a shout out to Katie and Dan for everything they did to make the process fun, simple, organized, and well executed. I’m so glad this is a place we can continue to come back to and enjoy for years to come. Can’t recommend more.

planning process and on the big day! Every person working at Antrim 1844 was professional, positive, and went out of their way to make sure our day was perfect. And it was! Our family and friends raved about how lovely the staff were and they can’t wait to come back to visit Antrim 1844, even outside our wedding day. My husband and I can’t thank you enough for all of the talent we got to experience with the venue’s team of people. We wish we could relive this day over and over not just because it was our wedding, but because of the gorgeous venue, the top tier food, and the incredible staff that made it an experience we will cherish forever. You will not be let down if you book here. They really do make your dreams come true! I would give Antrim 1844 more than 5 stars if I could!

EMPLOYEE. we came across was unbelievable. From the receptionists, to the house cleaners, to the bartenders, to the wait staff during our reception, the service provided was impeccable. ll and The Antrim staff continued to support us at every step of the way and really reduced the weight of that burden for us.
It was a true comfort, the amount of organization leading up to the wedding, with Jill working closely with us to carefully structure the events of the day, and having a plan for all the details we hadn’t considered.
The rooms at The Antrim are gorgeous and provided something unique for our guests that was on-site to the venue, providing an intimate weekend with our family and friends.
We had a block of rooms with The Antrim, Kaitlynn lead us on a tour of the available rooms and houses to make sure we had the right accommodations for the bridal party, family, and friends. Throughout the period leading up to the wedding, Kaitlynn made sure we were able to fully utilize our block, continuing to update us on rooms that were booked and helping us with any changes we needed to make.
The Antrim isn’t a typical lodging experience you have at a chain hotel, they are personable, welcoming, informative, and we felt like Reed and each of the staff that we interacted with really cared for us during our stay.
We have very happy memories our our special day at The Antrim, but also of the team there who helped make our day come to life.

l from our first tour of the venue to our wedding day (over a year later). She was responsive and super helpful through the entire process, and was present and a huge help to me, my husband, and our families on our wedding day.
Hotel booking for our family and guests was very easy and again, the staff was very accommodating in recommending the best rooms/houses for guests, tending to our needs, etc.
The grounds and accommodations were pristine. The rose garden was gorgeous and the perfect backdrop for our wedding ceremony. The pool was well-used over the weekend by our guests, as were the tennis courts. Everyone loved all of the activities that were available to keep them entertained all weekend.
The food was unreal. All of our guests had glowing reviews and more than one proclaimed that the salmon was the best they ever had (and I agree).
Our event went so smoothly and the staff at Antrim couldn’t have done a better job, from the folks at the front desk to the banquet staff, and everyone else we crossed paths with.
We had an amazing weekend and a perfect wedding at Antrim 1844. We can not wait for our next visit to the hotel because we will absolutely be back.

day wedding for our daughter and booked several rooms for the day before the rehearsal and all of the rooms the day of the wedding. All of the guests were so happy with their rooms. So much history was detailed in each of the rooms and everything was clean and welcoming. It was wonderful for everyone to celebrate the couple getting married in the beautiful gardens and then share an amazing private cocktail hour while our guests were located outside of the mansion enjoying cocktails and delicious food and music. After the cocktail hour everyone entered into the venue that was just spectacular. We danced and celebrated all evening and afterwards shared s’mores outside of the mansion by the fire pit. It was so nice that everyone who attended the wedding were able to stay on site and not worrying about driving home that evening after dancing the night away. We didn’t have to provide a shuttle or transportation to another hotel or bed and breakfast.
The next morning, we gathered and had a lovely breakfast. Mid day, tea and light snacks were also served.
We highly recommend this extradinary venue for your wedding. You will leave with a happy and warm heart. Our daughter said, “thank you for making my dream day a perfect reality”

kend. Besides catering the rehearsal dinner on Friday evening, our family rented several of Antrim 1844's beautifully decorated (and historic) rooms. From the moment we checked in the hotel staff was welcoming and helpful, going above-and-beyond to make sure our stay was pleasant. The food at both the rehearsal dinner (catered for 40) was absolutely fabulous... kudos to 1844's fine chef and cuisine artisans. We first started working with Jill (in charge of the catering) about 6 months before the wedding, who was marvelous to work with in every way. We also rented their "media package" (sound system, video projector and large screen) to show a half-hour video of the bride and groom, their families and friends--equipment which worked flawlessly, with outstanding technical staff (Matt) there to help set everything up. The wedding day event went off spectacularly. Even though it rained for our planned outdoor wedding, Antrim 1844 moved everything indoors on short notice without a hitch to make it almost as special as if held outdoors in their beautiful gardens. Finally, we were fabulously impressed with the table server staff, both for the catered meals and the wonderful home-cooked breakfasts that come with a hotel stay... some of these servers were the same people. The service touches that these folks understand and provide are a make-or-break essential for any high-end venue... and those at Antrim 1844 have it.
Yes, the venue is a bit pricey... but worth every penny to achieve the wonderful experience everyone wants on their children's wedding day. Thank you, Antrim staff... your customers from Texas appreciate the great service you provide!

s our wedding day coordinator and did a fantastic job communicating through the whole process, being quick to answer any questions, and did everything to make our day PERFECT. Jill made us feel at home, she was warm and welcoming and felt like part of the family on our wedding day. I didn’t have to worry about a single thing- Jill, along with the amazing Antrim staff, is a well oiled machine.
The venue is breathtaking and charming- it feels so intimate and private- and the reception area is huge, very clean, and bright with a ton of natural lighting and beautiful tables and furniture.
The food is unbelievable- and we had SO many of our guests tell us it’s the best wedding food they have ever had- and best wedding they’ve ever attended.
The service is lightning quick, professional, and everyone is so kind. Our bartender was amazing and we had 100+ happy happy people!
Lastly, the accommodations are so classy and charming. There are houses and cottages all around the property- and the rooms are stunningly decorated and very reasonably priced. The bridal suite is gorgeous.
Again, I could not say enough about this place. The price is 100% fair and so much is included with what you pay per person. So much love for this place!!

cocktail hour in the mansion with all the decor already up! The entire staff was wonderful to work with and Katie was very on top of it as our in-house wedding coordinator. The food and drinks were delicious! We also had our rehearsal dinner in the smokehouse which was another great event! All of our guests were in awe of the venue and al enjoyed the historic rooms and decor.

The bridesmaids used the lower level of the Birnie House for getting ready, which turned out to be such a good decision and it was the perfect start to a fairytale of a day. Lastly, we stayed at the venue at the Ice House the night after our wedding to celebrate alone and it was magical. The little pool and our dinner experience was so unique. We will be back for all of our anniversaries! Thank you for making our day so magical and perfect Antrim!

d we tented the croquet lawn for our reception. We contracted all the rooms on property for our guests to reserve. We could not be happier with our decision to have our wedding at Antrim. Jill, our venue coordinator, communicated with us extensively throughout the planning process and was there on the day of our wedding to ensure everything went smoothly. We had an after party at the Pickwick Pub and on the patio with the fire pit, and Antrim allowed us to bring our own items to make s'mores and order pizza from a local pizza place. Also, the bridal suite is huge, has two balconies, and is an absolutely stunning location for photos. There is no shortage of beautiful spots on property for photos.

stayed on the property both nights. The property is beautiful, the staff was incredible, and our guests were so happy. It rained on the day of our wedding and they seamlessly moved to plan B which was equally as beautiful. As the bride, I was taken special care of. There were always people checking in to see if I needed anything and there were so many special touches and details that they thought of. One of my favorites is when we came back to our room at the end of the night, there was a plate with 2 slices of our wedding cake (which we hadn’t had a chance to eat), chocolate covered strawberries, and then plate was decorated with flowers from our wedding. They also had a bottle of champagne and 2 glasses set out. They brought my bouquet back to the suite as well. All of these little details just made our experience so wonderful. I could give a million more examples of this kind of attention to detail. The weekend was perfect and I wish I could do it again and again!

I was able to rent a house the night before for me and my bridesmaids. We were able to relax the night before the wedding and have our hair and make up done on site.
There was lots of room for our family to hang out while we took pictures.
We had about 140 people and there was plenty of room. The food was delicious and the drinks were flowing.
I love this venue and would recommend it to anyone, especially as an affordable winter venue.

We used Antrim 1844 to host our wedding in 12/2022. There are beautiful grounds, and the pavilion is a great location for our 103-person wedding. Unfortunately, the wedding planner...
we initially signed on with, went on maternity leave during planning our wedding and then did not return, so we had to switch planners. This led to some hick-ups with confirming old promises and knowing what Antrim can do and communication. Overall, it was a positive experience.
The good:
- The food was amazing. The smokehouse restaurant made an amazing meal and provided delicious after party snacks
- The venue is GEORGEOUS. You really can’t go wrong.
- The rooms are lavish! Almost everyone had a soaking tub and a lot had fireplaces too! Our guests said they felt like royalty.
- Check out is nice and late at 11am.
- Antrim 1844 hosts a lot of weddings and they have a lot of the logistics down.
The meh:
- The venue only had 43ish rooms and it is in the middle of nowhere so we had to ask some of our local guests to not get a room so our out-of-town guests would have a place to stay close to the venue. There are places <15min drive away but we wished our guests didn’t have to drive after the wedding
- Speaking of, coordinating between the wedding planner and the hotel manager was a bit of a nightmare. Not all guests got a welcome bag and ee were also told we could have three rooms cleaned and ready for check in early, however two of the three we requested were not ready early.
- There was an issue with how the open bar worked at the afterparty with guests who weren’t staying at the hotel.
- The check in time is only an hour before the ceremony so guests don’t have a lot of time if they need to check in before the ceremony.
Still a great venue with gorgeous locations on property that has great food and drinks there.

o get married. After almost two years of waiting and planning our day came and went in the blink of an eye, but every single thing about October 15, 2022 was absolute perfection and magic.
Jill, our coordinator, was there through every step of the way.--she handled my ridiculous amount of emails, and was the most supportive and amazing person throughout the day on the 15th. It was so incredible and surreal to watch this vision that was in our heads over the past year and a half come to life and to get to walk down that aisle on literally THE MOST BEAUTIFUL DAY EVER at the MOST BEAUTIFUL VENUE.
I also want to make mention of John, the banquet manager. He was incredible throughout our tasting and this continued during our reception. The food and service was impeccable!
Jason is another Antrim employee and he was seriously THE MOST AMAZING HUMAN EVER. He made me feel absolutely beautiful as I was waiting to walk out of the mansion door, and our conversation made my heart so happy. He was so energetic, so enthusiastic, so supportive, and so genuine…it really felt like I was hanging out with one of my best friends as I was waiting. His presence was appreciated more than I can put into words.
I could go on and on about our experience at Antrim, but it all comes down to this: Antrim provided us with the most beautiful venue and the most beautiful people to help us through what was the most beautiful day of our lives. Antrim will forever hold a special place in our hearts, and we can't wait to visit again soon.

ng, our guests were raving. The rose garden in September was stunning. Our only issue (albeit very minor) would be the logistics surrounding the rooms/check-in process. It was great to have guests stay on property before/after the wedding; however, they were unable to check in until 3pm. This caused some issues with guests getting into their rooms in a timely fashion, including my husband. The rooms themselves are also lovely and we received many compliments. Overall, we’d definitely recommend having your wedding at Antrim. Jill, and others on the staff, were great to work with!

My husband and I looked at 3 other places and the second we walked into Antrim we knew that it was where we wanted to get married. The day was a dream and the staff was FANTASTIC. The staff so kindly made us a signature cocktail seeing as we did not have one. Antrim was also great at communicating with all of our vendors. We did not get married indoors we rented (highly recommend if it is within budget) a tent and the staff cleaned everything up from under the tent that night. If you are looking for a beautiful and historical wedding venue Antrim is the place.

g and the service was great! My only negative for our wedding event would be that we were told we would have 2 bartenders for our 130 guest wedding and they only provided 1 which meant long lines at the bar the majority of the event.
While the wedding staff was fabulous and for a wedding venue, they knocked it out of the park, there is a huge disconnect between this staff and the front desk staff. We booked all 40 rooms to accommodate our guests the night of the wedding and it was a nightmare trying to deal with accurate booking confirmations and dealing with cancellations. Unfortunately, if a guest cancels, it falls on the contracted person (us) to pay for the canceled room. We were never notified if a guest canceled and our questions were never directly answered. It would be so much better to make the rooms non refundable. Additionally, and perhaps the biggest issue, many rooms were not ready by the advertised 3pm check in time. Many of our out of town guests relied on that prior to our 4pm start time, and there ended up being rooms that weren’t ready until after 6pm - well into wedding festivity time. The room situation was very frustrating and added a lot of stress to the wedding planning process. It is much easier to book a standard hotel block! That being said, the rooms were absolutely gorgeous and conveniently located. I was impressed that at the end of the night, my bridal bouquet, slices of our cake, and champagne was awaiting my husband and I. Breakfast the next day was delicious and a great end to the event! Overall, as a wedding venue, Antrim was a beautiful place to have our wedding and we were very pleased. I just wouldn’t recommend the nightmare of contracting rooms.

Katie and then Jill were incredible wedding coordinators, and everything about the day of our event was flawless. We had about 50 of our family members and friends across 28 rooms stay on site which was an added bonus. Food and accommodations were phenomenal. We truly have no negative feedback to offer and cannot recommend this venue highly enough.

g back and forth, we pushed it out til 2021. And boy did we hit the jackpot on the most perfect day! Antrim was very accommodating, allowing us to move our date without any price increases. With the new date we were able to book a bunch of rooms the day before the wedding and the night of the wedding. It was a perfect wedding weekend getaway. We had all of our friends and family staying with us. The Girls had breakfast in the suite and all the guys met in the restaurant. The bridal suite is HUGE we had 10 people + hair and make up and there was plenty of space. As for the event itself the staff was INCREDIBLE. I don't think I lifted a finger the entire day. Katie was our coordinator and she was a dream. She knows what she is doing, anticipated all of our questions, and made sure everything was PERFECT. Additionally we had a staff member that was assigned to help with my dress and check in on us throughout the night. This was unexpected but SO needed and appreciated. Absolutely everything went perfect, we could not have asked for a better day. Lastly, with so many guests staying the night on site, we had Pizzas delivered at 10:15pm. It was a beautiful evening and everyone was able to enjoy some pizza at the bar/on the deck. Staff was available for anything we needed, including trash bags for clean up. The bride and groom end the night with desserts and champagne left in the suite. So many small touches that made the day exceptional. At the end of the day it was worth EVERY PENNY. We wouldn't change a thing!

absolutely wonderful. She guided us on exactly what we needed to do during the entire process, making it just so easy. They obviously know exactly what they are doing so the entire process was flawless up until the big day. We needed to postpone our original wedding date due to Covid and Antrim accommodated a new date with absolutely no problem. The grounds are stunning and our guests could not stop talking about how gorgeous the venue was. They have indoor and outdoor options for both the ceremony and reception which is SO IMPORTANT! Both indoor and outdoor locations are beautiful. The food is also divine- our guests were also raving about this. They have a list of preferred vendors (although you don't have to use them) which makes the entire process even more seamless when you work with vendors who have been to your venue multiple times. We really cannot say enough great things about Antrim and will remember our perfect day forever!

With COVID creating so many complications (we had to reschedule from April), Antrim was so accommodating and worked with us every step of the way. We worked with Jill for all of our advance planning and Katie on the day of the wedding and both were great to work with. Katlynn, who handled the on site guest rooms also was a delight to deal with. I highly recommend Antrim 1844 for your ceremony and reception; it will be the best decision you will make!
