I am very disappointed with my experience using this company. I flew in from Texas to be the Maid of Honor in my best friends wedding in November. We had a complete itinerary for the day laid out (as one does on their wedding day) including whe...n each bridesmaid would be getting their makeup done. The morning of the wedding unfortunately took a turn for the worst when the makeup artist ran out of time to complete her services. Coming close to the time indicated that we needed to head to the church, the makeup artist still had not gotten to me, another bridesmaid, the mother of the bride, and the bride herself. The MOTB and the bride’s makeup were pushed before myself and the other bridesmaid to ensure that they could be completed.
Fast forward to only 30 mins remaining, the makeup artist was just getting started on the bride, so I approached her to ask if I need to start my own makeup because she was behind by 2 girls and the trolley would be here to get us soon. Upon asking that, I asked about receiving a refund if opted to do my own makeup, and she very rudely told me I was putting her behind more and that I needed to call the company to get the refund..
I then, in a panic, had to rush to do my own makeup to stand up as my best friends Maid of Honor in her wedding. The other bridesmaid was thankfully able to get her makeup done while the rest of us did our first look pictures with the bride, of which she was left out of most, and had to run into a few shots with half-done makeup :(
We let a couple days pass by before reaching out to avoid stressing out the bride on her honeymoon. The bride emailed Appease explaining what had happened. The owner, Carrie, responded with no apology, and said that there were “circumstances” outside of the makeup artists control that detoured the timeline, and that there was a contract in place where it states that there are no refunds. She then offered a service credit of $100 with their company (which is less than what was paid for the service). I then reached out to advise her that I paid out of pocket to get my own hair and makeup done for this wedding, and that a service credit wouldn’t be useful or practical as I live in Texas- No response since, even after many follow up emails.
Obviously it’s upsetting that this occurred, but it did occur to no fault of my own, and this company is not being responsive or accommodating. This really set the morning off to a stressful and disappointing start for all of us, and I would strongly advise Bride’s to find another service to use for your special day. Things happen! But customer service and catering to your clients is a huge part of providing a service- please do better Appease2you.
