My fiancé and I found The Arctic Club as a wedding venue through some friends at work. We were very surprised that we did not know any couples who had been married there already be...cause this place was incredible.
The first time I set foot in the Northern Lights Ballroom, it took my breath away. The ornate dome and glass creates a dramatic and elegant atmosphere which was exactly what we wanted for our December 19th wedding.
When it came to picking a wedding venue we had a few wants and needs: indoor space (winter in Seattle), space for 200 people, a space that would accommodate ceremony and reception, and a location that would allow reception until midnight. We also liked the idea of having the wedding at a place affiliated with or part of a hotel. The Arctic Club met all of these items plus so much more.
The event took place mostly in the gorgeous Northern Lights Ballroom. We chose to have our ceremony facing the "ticket booth" and the pictures are stunning. Our photographer was able to get pictures from inside the booth and you can see our faces with our guests behind us. After the ceremony, the cocktail hour is in the lobby bar which has a fun 1920's feel. The ballroom is then switched over the reception style by the staff and everyone goes back up for the reception. Everything felt seamless to us.
We worked with Nicole and Andrea to coordinate, plan, and execute all details of the wedding. I work night shift and there were countless novel-length emails that I sent to both of them at 3 AM and they were wonderful to work with. Every time I felt like I was being a crazy bride or asking dumb questions they assured me and made me feel better.
The catering for the wedding was through the venue's restaurant Juno. We had a tasting a few months before the wedding and Carlos, the chef, prepared options we had chosen for my fiancé, both of my parents, my sister, and I. We ended up choosing a salmon, steak, or butternut squash ravioli option for the entrees and all of our guests had rave reviews. There were multiple people stating that it was the best steak they had ever had. I completely agree.
As part of booking the venue, a complimentary room for the bride and groom is included the night of the wedding and it is situated near the reception space. This was wonderful in that my groom had space to get ready in (he stayed there the night before the wedding too) and we had a space to spend time before the ceremony. It even felt kind of hidden away from the other guests as it is close to the back entrances to the venue space. You are also responsible for renting our the guest rooms on the 3rd floor where the ballroom is. There are a total of 6 rooms and we had no issue filling them and ending up extending our block as well. They offer a discounted rate through a wedding block that is very comparable to hotels in the area. The rooms were spacious and upscale.
All in all, we cannot recommend The Arctic Club enough. From the unique and beautiful look to the delicious food, we were blown away. And I want to specifically mention the staff, especially Andrea and Nicole. When planning a wedding, it makes such a difference to have people you can count on to not only create what you've imagined but to help reduce stress and make things fun and memorable. They did just that and I will never forget the hospitality. Thank you!
