We held our wedding at Artists for Humanity and it was perfect! The team at the gallery is so wonderful and helpful. The venue itself was beautiful and we loved the unique look against our classic decorations. Note, that because it is a non-traditional venue you will have to bring in most things yourself (tables, chairs, lighting etc.), but despite this, we would not have chosen another venue!
Because of Drew and his team at Artists for Humanity, our wedding was everything we ever dreamed of and more! Not only is the space stunning, but everyone who works there is incredibly kind, organized, and happy to help plan and carry out the wedding of your dreams. All of our guests were raving about how unique the space was and were blown away by the artwork that was displayed throughout. We even had the artists create our table numbers and they came out absolutely perfect. We honestly can't picture having had our wedding anywhere else. Couldn't recommend AFH enough!
Where do we even begin. AFH was one of the first venues we visited when considering where to have our wedding. We instantly fell in love with the venue and the staff. They are extremely knowledgeable, and made the entire experience a pleasure to do. Every vendor that they recommended was spot on and amazing. We had unparalleled communication with the staff throughout the entire process, so we never felt alone or out of the loop. Thank you again for an amazing wedding experience!
The Artists for Humanity EpiCenter played host to what ended up being a dream wedding for my wife and I. Looking at venues in Boston for 250 people was a bit disheartening until Artists for Humanity was recommended to us. We knew we didn't want a hotel ballroom wedding and AFH offered us the perfect canvas. The space itself is beautiful, I'm sure you could spend thousands of dollars brining in lighting and flowers but it's entirely unnecessary. The rotating art installations are all incredible and we loved the cafe lighting that AFH offered.
For our wedding we worked with Kristina and she was excellent. AFH has an exclusive catering agreement with Gourmet Catering which may sound limiting, but in the end I think was a blessing. It's clear that AFH and Gourmet have their events down to a science and Kristina worked extremely effectively with the Gourmet team. Kristina and AFH also went above and beyond, providing us with easels to use during the setup and additional supplies (tables, etc...) that we would have otherwise needed to purchase ourselves. Overall we got everything we wanted and more from AFH as a venue and Kristina as a coordinator.
My clients who hired me as their Month of Coordinator selected AFH long before selecting me. As a Wedding Planner and Coordinator, I'm always walking in to a new space, with a new Site Coordinator/Event Director and sometimes it can be more of a challenge than necessary in terms of who does what as they're used to running their venue and the logistics for a couple's big day. However, Kristina was very receptive to have a Wedding Planner. Working with her and her team at AFH was absolutely amazing, from communication to lending a hand when needed. I'll definitely be recommending AFH to my other couples in need of a venue!
Could not have asked for a more perfect space for our wedding. The space is large and industrial, leaving it to be a blank canvas for whatever you are looking for. The high ceilings also have the supports to hang lighting/swings/decor. We used the space to have a cocktail style - all night- reception and it was perfect. We created various seating areas as well as some lounges. The mezzanine that overlooks the main floor also allows for extra space that the guests can use. There is also a staircase from the mezzanine to the main floor that leads to the garage door if you are looking for a dramatic entrance. Could not have picked a more perfect venue!
When we began looking for wedding venues, my (now) husband and I weren't really sure what we wanted - but when we stepped into AFH, we knew that was it. Choosing AFH as our all-in-one wedding space was one of the best choices we made throughout the entire wedding planning process. I cannot speak highly enough of the event managers Shane and Kristina and the absolutely impeccable service they provided to us, including helping us figure out solutions to a few last-minute snafus that came up during our rehearsal day. They were communicative, transparent, warm, welcoming, and highly accommodating. AFH is now not only a special part of our memories from our wedding day, but will be a consistent part of our lives moving forward as we are hoping to remain involved with the organization. We loved, loved, loved having our wedding at the EpiCenter and so did our guests! Highly, highly recommended.
We have always supported AFH as a great organization. We took a chance and took the first Saturday available after a major construction project. We wore hard hats visiting just 2 months from there wedding date! They totally pulled it together and delivered a unique, fantastic space. Itβs a blank canvas to create whatever vibe you want for your event, with calm confident support from Shane and Cristina. The happy couple were very happy!
Right off the bat, my husband and I knew that we didn't want to get married in a "wedding factory," and that we wanted to find someplace unique that would still allow us to fit our 200+ guests. The EpiCenter was such a perfect spot for us! We especially loved the funky garage door opening onto the little law... it allowed for some outdoor space without having to rely too heavily on the weather - something I was absolutely terrified of doing!
Alexis, the events coordinator, was so patient and helpful throughout the entire process, always responding to my emails quickly and thoroughly. It is important to know though, that because you have to bring in everything on your own (caterer, tables, chairs, lighting, decor, etc), having the reception in the EpiCenter is a lot of work - more than I initially anticipated. The cost of the wedding also ended up being more than I expected because of everything we had to bring in to get our "look" just right. We were lucky to have the help of a wedding planner, who helped out with a lot of the coordination. Without that service, this might be a tough venue to use successfully.
Our wedding turned out to be so perfectly "us." It was beautiful and unique, and it was worth all the work that went into it. I definitely recommend this as a venue!
My husband and I got married at the AFH in October, and we absolutely loved it. The space is great and can really be anything you want, although you're definitely responsible for the creative vision. We love that the building is so eco-friendly and that the rental cost supports the mission of the organization.
It is a pretty pricey venue considering that nothing beyond the space (the building and parking) is included in the rental. But, all wedding venues are expensive so at least in this case, the money goes to good cause.
Alexis was really great to work with and super responsive to emails/inquiries. We weren't working with her at first though and getting responses to our questions took a little time. But, once we started communicating with Alexis, everything was smooth.
The day of the wedding was amazing and we couldn't be happier with AFH.
This was actually the only venue that my husband and I looked at for our wedding - we knew it was the right place immediately. From the LEED platinum certification to the organization's mission (which your facility rental fee supports), it felt absolutely right. We also loved that it's in the city (Broadway subway stop) and something a little bit different (i.e. not a hotel or banquet space). You get a variety of flexible space - the main gallery space, access to the outdoor patio if the weather is good, and the mezzanine. For an extra cost, you can also have access to the studio space upstairs, which is great if you're looking to have your ceremony and reception in different places, but don't want to completely change locations. Free access to the parking lot across the street is included, which is excellent. I think the biggest pro and con of this venue is that you are completely in charge of what it becomes. Great for creative vision, but a bit of a heavy workload as you have to bring in everything yourself.
I knew I loved this place from the moment I saw it. I love the mission of the organization and I loved the modern feel of the venue. The day of the wedding couldn't have been any better. The guests loved the fact that we could have the garage door open, blurring the line between inddors and outdoors. People also loved to be up at the street level or on the mezzanine looking down over the action below...a truly unique wedding experience for me, my husband, and all the guests.
