Kathy & Victor were a joy to work with through the whole wedding planning process and on the day of! They were super responsive, had great empathy and advice, and made things super easy! They also had fair pricing and didn’t try to nickel and dime us on the little things. We used them for our catering, bartending, and linen rentals. Our guests raved about the food and everyone with special dietary restrictions received their personalized meal smoothly. We are so grateful for ArtQuest’s attention to detail and customer service. Would highly recommend them to others!
There is so much to say about ArtQuest Catering! Kathy & Victor are seriously the best! I hired them as the caterers for our wedding and their team did not disappoint. We received many compliments from our guests talking about how delicious the food was and how amazing the staff was. Everything was perfect and I would recommend them to anyone and everyone who is looking for a caterer for their next event!! :-)
We had a really great experience working with ArtQuest for our wedding caterer. They were very helpful and gave us a lot of guidance on what to do for tables, tablecloths, chairs, etc. I really appreciated their kindness and patience. We had a wonderful time when we went for our tasting and were able to meet and chat with Kathy and Victor. All of the food was very good, and at the wedding it somehow tasted even better! It was very easy to choose our menu and what we wanted for the big day. The communication with Kathy was top notch and it made everything so much easier and stress-free for me. We received so many compliments and praises about the appetizers and main meal at our wedding. Definitely recommend ArtQuest Catering!
We loved working with ArtQuest catering. Very lovely and personable owners and the food was exceptional! Many of our guests let us know it was the best food they've had at a wedding ever!
Where do we even begin? Kathy and Victor are beyond amazing. My dad is still talking about our wedding food, specifically the Mac and Cheese bar, and has asked if we can eat there the next time he’s in town. From our first interaction with Kathy and Victor, we knew we’d met a team who would not only keep our guests happy with their delicious food, but also be extremely pleasant to work with. I am happy to say they completely exceeded our expectations!! Kathy helped us talk through our menu, gave us many options (including making this gluten-free couple very happy with gf Mac and Cheese!!!), and never made us feel as though we were an inconvenience- even though I know she is so busy with many other events. The entire experience from tasting, to planning, to execution, was flawless. And the FOOD! Wow. The menu was so unique and everything was bursting with flavor. I’ve already mentioned the Mac and a cheese bar, but we also loved the carving station, caesar salad, and tray-passed apps. THANK YOU to Kathy, Victor, and their entire team!!! We are so grateful and would hire this team again in a heartbeat!
We truly had a wonderful experience working with Kathy, Victor, and the ArtQuest team for our wedding and wouldn’t hesitate to book with them again! We were immediately impressed with their impeccable customer service and were just as impressed with their food during our tasting. Their pricing is very reasonable (especially in comparison to other San Diego catering companies) and they helped us coordinate/provide guidance on many other details, including linens. They were prompt to answer all our questions, were very flexible when we decided to postpone in 2020, and are wedding experts. We always felt we were good hands with ArtQuest, and everything went smoothly the day-of. Thank you again, ArtQuest!
Victor and Kathy with ArtQuest Catering are absolutely amazing and a huge highlight of my wedding! From our very first email, they were so kind, professional, and responsive to our every request. When we met with them in person, we were blown away by how lovely they are - they immediately connected with us on a personal level and made us feel like family! They worked with us to create a unique menu based on our favorite foods and within the restrictions of a mostly-vegetarIan kosher style diet.
The food itself was absolutely delicious. We had 3 stations - mac and cheese, flatbreads, and Mediterranean, as well as passed appetizers and varied mini desserts. I was so nervous about the Mac and cheese as it is my favorite food, but it was so unique and delicious, so I was thrilled! My husband, who is not a fan of Mediterranean food, even enjoyed that station as well! All of our guests absolutely raved about all of the food and the service all ran so smoothly.
They also provided us with bartending service, allowing us to bring in the alcohol while they supplied mixers, glasses, etc. We were also able to rent all of our linens, chairs, and even our chuppah from them, making them an amazing one-stop shop.
Overall we were so thrilled with the food, service, professionalism, and most especially the kindness of Victor and Kathy. They allowed us such peace of mind throughout the planning process and on the wedding day itself. I would highly recommend them for any catering needs, no matter how specific they may be!
Let me start this review by saying Victor and Kathy are two of the nicest, most enjoyable people we have met with all of our wedding planning experiences. From the beginning when we went to their storefront for a tasting, it felt like we had known them for forever, and they just were so warm and kind. Now on to the actual food and service. 5 stars, impeccable. We had steak with au jus and horseradish, chicken with champagne sauce, a lovely green salad, potatoes, roasted vegetables, fresh bread. It is hard to pick what was the most delicious because seriously every single component was mouth watering. The service staff is extremely professional and smiley, keeping everyones water filled and removing plates from tables, and were just a delight to be served by. The extras we got, such as the cheese and fruit display for cocktail hour as well as the specialty coffee station during cake cutting was a hit with everyone. The dinner was one of the things that people came up to us, the bride and groom, during the wedding saying how much they loved the food, ate their entire plate, went back for seconds, etc. Seriously I heard that from so many people haha. Victor and Kathy were just so accommodating for our requests, and truly made our day extra special. I can’t imagine how it would have gone if we didn’t go with them. We are so appreciative of their commitment to excellence, and recommend them to everyone.
Victor and Kathy at ArtQuest are the best! They are so easy to work with and made the whole event go so smoothly! Let’s start with the food – It was SO DELICIOUS! I heard multiple guests comment that the food was the best they have EVER had at any wedding. My husband is a chef and, as you can imagine, is very particular when it comes to food. During the planning, he had such a great time working with Victor to design the menu! They have an amazing list of dishes to choose from, and they are also happy to get creative and take your input if you have something special in mind. When it came time for our reception, we were blown away by the presentation and the quality; from the appetizers during cocktail hour to the buffet dinner, it really could not have been more wonderful. And those bread rolls – OMG! Now I’m getting hungry thinking about the food… Aside from the meal, they also organized all of the rentals for tables, chairs, linens, and everything else - I would have been lost trying to manage all of that myself. They made it so easy! The room turned out so lovely and gorgeous – better than I could have imagined and it was because of Kathy’s design advice. Also, their staff is so sweet and attentive! They were so helpful and made sure that we had exactly what we needed at all times during the event! I was so happy with how perfect the day was because of Victor and Kathy. I can’t thank them enough for their exceptional service, for their wonderful food, for their guidance throughout the planning, and for how fun and chill they are! They are incredible!
When we were seeking out caterers for our wedding we asked a lot of questions of potential clients, but one question was more important than the rest: can you do lechón? We wanted the whole roast pig, no compromises. Most places, shockingly, did not offer this service. Victor & Kathy, however, didn't bat an eye. Absolutely, they said. In fact, they worked with us to construct a menu for a whole Filipino feast, complete with pancit and halo-halo for desert.
Now, Victor was up front with us that it was not his first lechón, it would be their first time catering Filipino. As such, they invited us for a tasting allowing us to confirm that their rendition would hold up to the scrutiny of visiting relatives. You might not have mistaken it for nanang's pancit, but it was still delicious. After the tasting, we offered feedback and chose to switch out a few dishes. Victor and Kathy were extremely receptive to feedback. You could just tell they loved their work.
Leading up to the wedding Kathy and Victor were very communicative. They followed up to all our coordination, met with us during the walkthrough, and worked with us to finalize menu design. They made sure that there were enough dishes for vegetarians to have a full meal, and even made additional specialized entrees for our vegan guests.
On the day of the wedding everything went very smoothly. The lechon was impressive, and a huge hit with the guests. We only wish we could have eaten more of it! The day was packed so we barely had a bite. The appetizers we had were tastefully arranged and generous. I will say that the coconut shrimp was excellent, and the lechon skin was the perfect balance crispy and chewy. For dessert, ArtQuest worked with a local halo-halo shop to provide individual cups for everyone as dessert, and was considered by everyone in attendance to be on the whole much better than cake.
So if all that isn't enough to convince you that ArtQuest is the right choice to cater your wedding, I will mention that they also connected us with our wedding coordinator Ashley Mayo, who was amazing, so in addition to excellent service they keep excellent company as well.
Thanks Victor & Kathy for a memorable meal on a memorable day!
Great to work with, delicious food VERY reasonable price!
ArtQuest Catering is an incredible catering team. The owners Victor and Kathy are true professionals who take the time to get to know you and learn your plan for the wedding. Their success as a business is paralleled by their kindness and genuine care for each of their clients.
They are incredible planners and organizers. This made the entire wedding planning process exciting and stress-free. We never felt nervous or worried about anything due to Kathy and Victor's thoroughness.
The wedding set up, meal, and catering team were exemplary in their work as well. They catered to special requests with food, were polite and fun to chat with, and very fast in all phases of the wedding. (Over 130 people were served and ate dinner in 45 minutes or less.)
I give my highest recommendation for ArtQuest for their planning abilities, food, and the service that their team provided. Every event would benefit from having this team.
I have officially found my GO TO catering company! Kathy and Victor have been an absolute joy to work with! They are great people who treated me like family. If I could give them and their staff 10 stars I would! I am wedding planner who recommended Artquest to my bride and groom. My couple got married at the BRICK which is a empty space that requires you to bring in all of your own vendors. I was really nervous trying to find a catering company that would be able to provide not only food but also rentals and bar service. Once I found Artquest I knew they were the ONE! Kathy and Victor have been in the event business for years and are true professionals who really care about what they do. From the moment we started planning to the day of the actual wedding, Kathy and Victor put my mind and my couples minds at ease. They were super accommodating and went above and BEYOND for my couple. I haven't even mentioned the amazing food! The guests loved it! My couple couldn't stop raving about their seafood paella! Victor even made a special dish for the just for the mother of the bride on the day of the wedding. I can rave on and on about Artquest Catering. I will definitely be using Artquest again. I would DEFINITELY recommend Artquest Catering for your wedding!
Victor and Kathy were amazing to work with! Their food was delicious and their staff took great care of my guests on the day of the wedding. I highly recommend ArtQuest Catering.
Catering was the largest investment and most involved part of the wedding so choosing a good caterer felt pretty crucial to me. I was recommended to Kathy and Victor through my coordinator, Amanda Trejo. At this point I had called and considered like 15 other caterers. I was trying to find something quality but inexpensive like most people are! There are so many factors to consider, but in the end, I wanted to choose someone with a good reputation and who could give me a variety of options for food because my soon-to-be husband wanted quality over unique or tendy. We chose 3 stations- Mediterranean, Tri-Tip, and Paella. We chose 3 different tray pass snacks for the cocktail hour. They also made us 2 different kinds of sangria. Kathy is incredible and on top of coordinating it all. Victor is amazing at food. When I met with them the first time, they were personable and lovely and knew Brick (my venue) so that gave me a lot of confidence. They worked with me on pricing to fit my budget. Victor being from Spain was also a personal plus for me. :) Our tasting was so much fun. My husband is a foodie and he was impressed. Our wedding day was unfortunately so rainy. They adjusted quickly, and did the flip from the ceremony to reception flawlessly even though our original plans had to change. As far as I know, service was great the entire time. And everyone said that the food was better than they've ever had at a wedding. I am not one to exaggerate, but I do think the food was the best part of our wedding. It was so nice to hear that others were impressed by the food. Victor and Kathy are professional, know this business and make delicious food. Oh yes, as it gets closer to the wedding day, having a catering company that can provide tables, chairs, all utensils, etc. is really relieving. There are tons of choices out there, but having a full service catering company just makes it easier. Go with Artquest.
ArtQuest was wonderful to work with for our wedding at the La Jolla Woman's Club and the food was delicious! Kathy and Victor were very responsive from the beginning and continued to blow us away as time passed. They set up a wonderful tasting, which felt very much like a private dinner. They had a lot for us to choose from both for food options and rentals and they provided great insight. The food was incredible, both at the tasting and the wedding itself. The staff at our wedding were outstanding, they were very welcoming and attentive to us and our guests all night long. It was so nice to know that on our wedding day everything was taken care of and we had nothing to worry about.
Victor & Kathy are the best! The food was delicious and the wait-staff was exceptional. Our guests could not say enough about how yummy everything was. We had 3 try-passed appetizers (the coconut shrimp was to die for!). Our buffet consisted of a salad, 2 entrees (salmon & chicken), pasta, veggies, garlic mashed potatoes, and in-house fresh baked rolls... my mouth is still watering lol. Beyond that, they are both professional & take charge; you can tell their experience has paid off. From their relationship & love for each other to the respect & caring for their staff/team and, again, their quality of food and presentation. I can't say enough.
ArtQuest catering was the perfect choice! Not only were Kathy and Victor easy to work with and incredibly accommodating from the very first meeting onward, but the food was better than any wedding I have ever been to! All of our friends and family commented on the wonderful food displays, taste and quality. Our wedding reception was in October but I was so impressed with their attention to detail and wonderful service, that I just HAD to come back to write a review on their impeccable service. I really felt like they were there for everything we could have needed and went above and beyond what you would expect of caterers. They even upgraded my linens at no extra cost and had enough service there for my husband and I (or anyone in our families for that matter) to never have to worry about a thing. ArtQuest catering was definitely a big part of what made our most memorable day of our lives that much more memorable and special! Definitely highly recommended!
Wow. What can I say? Our party revolved around a few things. One of them- was the food. We contacted ArtQuest early on to figure out our plans for food. Victor and Kathy were nothing but professional and accommodating. They are two of the nicest people I have ever met. They provided us with excellent service and excellent food. They worked with out budget and we had a beautiful service because of it. The food was delicious and the linens and plateware/silverware were perfect for our event. Not to mention our ice sculpture...SO COOL! Thank you Victor and Kathy for helping us out the way you did. Everything was excellent and we are forever grateful.
Our first meeting went great and we really felt like we connected with Kathy and Victor. But as we got closer and closer to the wedding in September, we felt like our wedding of 60 guests was just not prioritized and we certainly did not have that feeling of being guests at our own wedding. A couple of times they were flat out rude when my husband try to talk to them over the phone and four days before the wedding Victor called me (the bride), screaming about the check with the final payment not arriving on time. This was during Labor Day weekend and it did arrive one day late, we should of course had taken this into consideration when sending it but we were pretty busy at the time with friends and family in town. He said they couldn’t buy the food they needed – however; we had already paid over 50% in deposit, which should well cover their expenses. Of course I got very upset and with all the stress of planning a wedding – the last thing you need is someone being rude and screaming at you.
When we one month in advance decreased our guest number from 75 to 60 (this was a destination wedding with many guests from Sweden) they just increased the per/person cost so it turned out to be exactly the same cost as for 75 guests. In the original proposal it did say the cost was based on 75 people, but they wouldn’t even go down in price on the coffee station or upgrade any of our food items as compensation.
Initially we thought it would be great to use them for party rentals, bartender and everything – but comparing prices to other vendors they were a lot higher which is why we chose to go with other vendors.
At our wedding, Kathy, Victor or Diane (who we hired through them to do our flowers) were not even there during the reception, which they did not even tell us in beforehand. Diane was also supposed to be the event manager we had paid $250 for and also met with at the venue in May – but a week before the wedding we learned they had switched to another event manager whom we never even had the chance to meet or talk to before the wedding.
This resulted in several mistakes and I (the bride) had to make sure everything was done correctly during the reception. For example; there were empty flower vases on the head table during the dinner (bouquets were supposed to be moved from the ceremony) and the waiters started carrying out ice cream to the dessert, which was meant for the wedding cake. Even though we had paid for an extra waiter, our toastmasters, my maid-of-honor and the DJ had to help serve the wine – since we were not using ArtQuest for “wine-service”. They even refused to put the wineglasses that we rented from another vendor on the tables, since it was not written anywhere that that’s where the wineglasses were supposed to go.
When we tried to raise our concerns after the wedding and get compensation and an explanation for the lack of management and the obvious mistakes including missing flowers at the head table etc. – they didn’t understand our complaints at all and continued treating us like a one-time customer saying they didn't understand where we were coming from but that they would give us $30 for the missing flowers.
I would not want anyone else to go through the problems we have experienced. Please also know that we are “normal” people and we don’t like to complain at all – but this time it just went to far. The two stars is for a great first meeting and for the bridal bouquet which was lovely.
I booked this company for my wedding but we needed to change the date due to some family problems after we put the deposit down. Their service was fine up until we had to change the date. We were not allowed to change our service date, number of guests, or type of food once that contract was signed. We tried our hardest to work with the original date given, but sometimes family circumstances make it impossible. We were not allowed to use our $1000 deposit on anything but our wedding day, which we had to switch, so we lost the money. We asked around to see if this was unusual and we were just crazy but were told by numerous other reputable vendors that we were in the right, and they had never heard of a caterer refusing to switch to a different day or even occasion so their deposit was not in vain. Beware.
after a few poor experiences with catering tastings, we came across artquest catering on the internet. Its run by a husband and wife and they become your 2nd parents(in a good way). They were very honest and up front with everything, The price was great, and the service was wonderful. They actually work with other vendors so if you want, it can be a one stop shop!..which is what we did and I couldn't have asked for anything more! The food is wonderful too..try the champagne chicken. I would recommend kathy and victor for everyone!
When I first met Kathy & Victor I knew that I wanted them to be our caterers. Then we tried their food...it was amazing! And they are very affordable. We loved the 'small business' feeling of ArtQuest and we loved how personable Kathy & Victor were. The day of our wedding, everything went perfectly. We had so many compliments from our guests. I would DEFINITELY recommend ArtQuest!!
