Highly recommend against using them as a wedding venue! Management here is horrible. We were promised many things in the beginning but when it came to the contract a lot of these were changed or taken out. At that point it was late to back out. There was a lot of miscommunication. We originally were under the impression that we would have a room for the ceremony and another for the reception. Apparently the ceremony room was never reserved and we only came to find out much later. We had to find another location for the ceremony and had to keep this location for the reception as it was late. There was so much back and forth with this team, waiting for responses and false promises.
On our wedding day, they did a horrible job. The catering manager disappeared. There were many issues with the table setup and the staff. They were behind schedule and very rude to our people and event manager. We came to find out that 3 tables were missing when we sent the arrangement much earlier. Causing delays in the reception. We heard the plates and forks were not being replenished during cocktail hour especially for the pasta to where people weren’t able to get any food. Staff was rude to our guests and coordinators. The catering manager was no where to be found. We paid for staff to serve the passed hors d’oeuvres but found it just laying on the table. The biggest thing that we were frustrated with is that an entire table did not receive any food. That is unacceptable. Those plates were paid for in advance and that goes against our contract. We tried to call them multiple times after the wedding and sent multiple emails with no responses. This is a very unreliable vendor and we highly recommend against using this site.
Don’t ruin your wedding!!!!!! They will steal your food and management doesn’t care because they have not attempted to return contact in over a month of attempts. We had many problems with the Atlanta Evergreen Lakeside Resort, but this review concerns our rehearsal dinner. Firstly, communication was awful, and from initial contact in April, we had no clue what they even offered to eat until two weeks before our rehearsal dinner on October 13th!!! During the several months prior to the rehearsal dinner, numerous attempts at communication were made with minimal responses and excuses being “sorry I was on vacation” or “sorry I was sick” and these responses were almost once a month with no resolution of questions or issues we had. We had already paid a $2500 deposit which was nonrefundable. Therefore, we were unable to back out without losing our money. 2 weeks prior, a new contact reached out to select a menu and to get a head count. While this new contact was incredibly helpful and very nice, it did not make up for all the stress and anxiety leading up to the event. We signed a specific contract stating that our event would start at 6 pm and end at 10 pm. We would be provided food and a cash bar with a bartender. The night of the event, the food was buffet style and was delicious; unfortunately, by 7:30, they were already pulling our food without our permission and without giving us and our guests the opportunity to get more. Additionally, the “bartender” for whom we paid $150, could not make the simplest of drinks, including a whiskey and coke, and cost an astounding $17!! Somehow, he was unable to take money so sitting next to him was a cashier to simply take money and hand the bartender a ticket. After the food was pulled incredibly early, what we assumed was a manager came down and demanded we sign a new contract that was more expensive than the original. When asked about the contract, she said she didn’t know the specifics and said it was probably because we were not charged for a cashier. She said we could discuss it with the management team afterward but that we had to sign it then. She also stated it was unlikely that more money would be due. Around 8:30 pm, several people had left, assuming the dinner was over because of the food being pulled, so the manager called the last call for the bar; despite that, we had the room reserved and the bartender paid until 10 pm. Several guests visited the bar downstairs and overheard employees stating there was food left over from an event. Saw several employees were handed to-go boxes filled with the food that we paid for, which was taken early without permission. We are so glad that our $4000 dinner could feed the hotel staff instead of our guests!! In our eyes, this is theft, plain and simple which management apparently supports. They handed out our food, which we paid for and barely got to eat, to the back of the house staff. Not to mention being rushed out early. Furthermore, they had the audacity to send us a bill for an additional $220 with no explanation other than what the manager stated the night of guessing it was for a cashier. The only contact made was for collection even though we reached out multiple times to management over the theft of our food and with no response at all, showing that they genuinely don’t care. I’m so thankful that it was only our rehearsal dinner and not our entire wedding that this establishment ruined.
Atlanta Evergreen was a pleasure to work with every step of the planning process up until our big day. We used the Evergreen for our wedding reception, and they were able to provide tables, chairs, catering, among so many other details. All of these were included in the overall price, which made it extremely budget-friendly as well as convenient. We were able to use our own vendors for floral arrangements, decor, music, and wedding cake. Part of our package included a honeymoon suite for the night, and breakfast the following morning. The Evergreen and staff helped make this day stress-free and fun!
This Venue and good selection was amazing. The staff really thought of all the anticipations of an event and placed it in an app. Great job
Overall, we were very happy with the Evergreen Marriott Resort. It is a beautiful venue - our wedding was outdoors at the pavilion, and the view with the adjacent lake, mountain, and nature was astounding. The reception ballroom was great as well. The event manager was very friendly and accommodating. There were some communication issues and minor hiccups that can be expected in such a wedding with so many moving parts; however, the venue and the event manager did compensate us for this and the customer service was good.
This place is amazing! The food is great! They allow you to customize your menu. Whatever you want, they will make it happen. I worked with Amanda and she was so helpful. If there were any problems, she took care of them within minutes! I highly recommend this venue. Plus, there are so many great places to take pictures on this property!
LOVE this venue! Very accommodating!! Beautiful all around!!! Guest said it was the BEST wedding food they had ever had!! What you see is what you get, there is no nickle and dimming. The staff was extremely nice and went above and beyond to assist with any special request!! I would recommend any event there!
Had the wedding of my dreams at the Pavillion by the lake and our reception in the ballroom. Melody is amazing and made sure our day went exactly as planned. Everything went off withou a hitch. All of our guests still comment on how first class our wedding was and how amazing the food was. They did an amazing job making our big day perfect. Our even manager melody was there whenever we needed her. She would meet with my husband and I whenever I had questions. With everything they include with your wedding package you can not find a more wonderful location for your big day.
Evergreen Marriott was the perfect choice. We reserved our room block almost 6 months in advance, and when our guests filled our room block 4 months before the wedding, the staff was amazing and let us open another 10 rooms. The process was easy, the event staff was always available, and the hotel is the best in the area. A no brainer. When we arrived, our event planner also took the time to stop in to check that everything was going as planned. (they also stopped in during the entire weekend which was amazing, but not really tied to the room-block review). Anyway, this hotel and the process of creating and managing a room block is the only way to go in the area.
My wife and I got married at the Evergreen Pavilion and had our reception in the Rotunda room. The staff, location, accommodations and amenities were absolutely perfect for our wedding weekend. It felt like a "destination" even though we were so close to Atlanta. All of my guests were commenting on how wonderful the food was too! I'm hoping my wife and I can come back for our 1 year anniversary and stay the weekend to relive such a magical experience.
My wife and I had our ceremony and reception at the Evergreen Lakeside Pavilion, part of the Marriott in Stone Mountain Park. The setting was absolutely perfect.
Overall, the venue was beautiful. I got married on the deck behind the building overlooking the lake. The reception area was great as well. I was not very pleased with the lady that organized my wedding however. It seemed like I always had to wait long periods of time to get an answer back from her. It was worse at the end. I emailed her my final numbers by the date she wanted (a Friday) so she could tell me the final balance due (which was the following Monday). It was Tuesday before we heard from her! She said she was out of town and then wanted to be difficult about getting the balance by a certain time! We would have had the balance paid on Monday if she would have responded to either the emails or phone calls from us. If she knew she was going to be gone, she should have put someone else in charge. Also, the staff at the front desk didn't seem very knowledgeable about what was going on. We tried to figure out what rooms we had reserved to get ready in the morning of, and they had no idea! Also, the park itself doesn't communicate very with the resort. I had guests that missed my ceremony because a Winnebago was stuck at the gate about 20-30 minutes before the ceremony, causing a traffic jam. If they had let us know, we could have post-poned the ceremony a few minutes so all my guests could have seen it. Overall, the place was beautiful and I enjoyed my special day, but I was not crazy about the staff at Evergreen.
We used the Evergreen Resort for our Ceremony & Reception. We were originally drawn to the Evergreen because of the gorgeous ceremony site - their lakeside pavilion inside Stone Mountain Park. In addition, we loved this site because it allowed us to have the ceremony and reception in one place with no hassle of changing location. The hotel catered all food for the evening - except for our wedding cake (provided in package from a local bakery) and grooms cake - which was really delicious. They were easily able to attend to our vegan and vegetarian guests, too. As a bonus of booking at the hotel, they gave us a complimentary suite for our wedding night, which was lovely. For the majority of the time we had no complications and wonderful service, except for a few months in after booking our ballroom, they tried to change our ball room to a different one in the hotel due to having a very full hotel that weekend, but the issue was resolved. Overall, would recommend.
The Evergreen Marriott told me I would be assigned an event manager who would work with me to ensure the venue related details (menu, etc) were handled for my wedding/reception. This was the worst event manager ever. I could never reach him, and it took days for him to return phone calls. When I tried talking with the sales person who booked my event, she just sent me right back to the event manager (who I couldn't reach). I was left very frustrated and wondered if the event would be a disaster. Not a good feeling for a bride.
Fantastic service! The staff and event coordinator, Shawntay, at the Evergreen Marriott Resort at Stone Mountain were incredible! We felt fully comfortable letting Shawntay handle and hammer out every detail for our ceremony and reception that was included in our package. The ceremony was held at the outdoor Pavillion, and the reception took place in the Rotunda room. For both instances, the staff took great measures to make sure the entire bridal party and every guest was comfortable and had a great time! Great memories!
The staff was superb and general service levels were very high for all hotel staff. We were looking to spend about $15000 for the reception/ceremony sites-The Evergreen Marriott Resort was the right price and offered a great pavilion for the ceremony and a beautiful reception site complete with a waterside deck. There is a wooden bridge that is absolutely gorgeous for pictures.;I don't know why you'd look anywhere else honestly...
The venue is beautiful from the lobby to the waterside pavilion. The grounds offer many locations for pictures including the golf course down the road. The chef was exceptional as I had requesting a unique menu. He worked with me and exceeded my expectations. The banquet captain bartenders and wait staff were pleasant and helpful and were wonderful to work with.;The event manager was very difficult to work with. My contracts were continually wrong I had a difficult time getting calls return or emails I would have to remind her of agreements we had made previously or details of my event that she would forget. I was very detailed when I would read every version of the contract forwarded. It was hard to plan for the event due to the lack of communication and support from the event manager.
The event coordinators were great. The food was the best. The scenery was beautiful.
The food was wondeful and even though it rained the view was breathtaking.;There event managers were not very good. I ended up dealing with the head of the department after emailing the head of the hotel.
good food ambiance friendly wait staff wonderful setting;this hotel has a tendency to book events too close together. There was another wedding in our reception room two hours before our dinner time and I was not told. It resulted in unbelievable stress. However the upper management of the hotel handled my concerns appropriately when I met with them a couple weeks later. There was also a mixup with the vegetarian meals - we were served an entree we did not choose. These meals were taken off our bill. These problems were fortunately ones that our guests were not really aware of and therefore did not affect their enjoyment of the evening (except maybe some of the vegetarians). But it did cause me and my coordinator ALOT of stress prior to the ceremony.
We loved the water venue.;Our on-site hotel event planner and the hotel management were not flexible and we had quite a few problems with logistics during the planning phase. The hotel did not go out of its way to work with us nor did they seem to appreciate our business. It is a beautiful venue and hotel but I can not recommend it. Our wedding planner agrees.
Guests could drink and stay at the hotel no one had to drive, It was a resort so out of town guests took a little vacation and enjoyed Stone Mnt.;They charge to tie bows and put chair covers on in addition to rental fee
