Ann and the Avalon team were wonderful in catering our wedding! We originally had planned for over 200 guests in May 2020, but rescheduled and changed venues 3 times due to COVID, ...
and ended up with around 50 guests. Ann and her team were flexible, understanding, and so responsive. Our guests loved our food and bar service, and Avalon created a wonderful menu to honor my husband's Afro-Caribbean roots. We loved their food, staffing, and communication, and highly recommend choosing them for your events and weddings!
We loved the food and experience we had with Avalon Catering. They were willing to make a "Breakfast for Dinner" menu for our wedding. Everyone raved about the shrimp and grits. Th...
ey were nice to work with and communicated well especially with everything we all went through in 2020. My only critique is that I asked for, paid for and was promised two hot vegan meals for two of my wedding guests. They assured me it would be a hot meal and chef's choice. On the day of the wedding my guests were offered a salad no cheese and asked to find what they could on the buffet. I was very disappointed and embarrassed because I assured my guests they had considered and taken care of.
I recently worked alongside Emily for a wedding and it was such a pleasure to work with her. As a DJ + MC, it makes a huge difference when you work with someone who can adapt under...
pressure and do it with grace. Emily did just that. Emily is fun to work with and I hope to work with her in the future. If you need a planner, go with Emily.
The best decision we made for our wedding was hiring Ann and her team at Avalon. Our reception was at the DeKalb History Center and Avalon was one of several preferred vendors. I r...
eached out to a few for quotes, but I immediately knew after speaking with Ann that this was the best company. We went in for a tasting at lunch one day - the food was excellent and we had our full menu, linens, china, flatware, flowers all picked out in one afternoon. They make it so easy, and I could relax knowing that Avalon had everything taken care of. Even when I changed certain things what felt like a million times, Ann stayed organized and offered solutions for anything we needed. We also worked with their recommended florist, James Hurley, and guests would not stop complementing the flowers! The reception was perfect, from the food to the staff, and we can not thank them enough!
The team at Avalon Catering is the absolute best! Cathy and her crew were fantastic. They made the entire process easy and worry free. As mother of the bride, I tell you that Ca...
thy was a dream to work with. She and her team were so incredibly accommodating and helpful throughout the planning process. I cannot even begin to complement them enough for all their help during and after the event. They brought calm to my chaos! Not to mention the food was fantastic!! We received so many complements!!
Delightful people and I would gladly select them again for any future events!

Avalon catered my wedding last month and did a wonderful job. From start to finish, working with Ann from Avalon was a pleasure. She gave us a lot of great advice before the weddin...
g based on her experience in event planning and catering, and working at our venue. And she was very responsive and accommodating as we made our decisions on the menu, barware, linens, coffee, etc. She was a vital part of our pre-wedding walkthrough, offering suggestions and ensuring that her team could execute everything the way I envisioned. Then at the wedding, the food was amazing! We got so many compliments from our guests, a few even saying this was the best food they'd ever had at a wedding. And they packed us to-go boxes to bring home with us, so we got to enjoy the food again the next night when we were too dead to cook. And I have to mention the Avalon staff; everyone I interacted with was genuinely nice and professional and my mom had the same experience.
One of the best decisions we made was to hire Avalon! Our wedding was at Kimball Hall (phenomenal venue) and Avalon was one of 3 recommended caterers. Avalon's quality and taste we...
re so superior we knew we had to work with them. Ann Beaman from Avalon made working with them simple and she helped me add a fun dessert to the event - homemade ice cream sandwiches. They were a huge hit for a warm May wedding and comparable in price to cake. The day of the wedding, we laughably couldn't wait to eat the food - brisket, parmesan mashed potatoes, H&F breads etc... it was SO good. People went back for seconds! When does that happen at a wedding? It doesn't! Book Avalon, choose the brisket with chimichurri and horseradish and know your wedding will be talking about the great food.
PS: appetizers were the brie/apple tart, crab fritter and biscuit with pork and kumquat jelly. All were phenomenal. - Tori and Jason Link

nce they were responsible for setup, room flip, and breakdown/cleanup at our venue. We couldn't have chose a better company to play a key role in the most important day of our lives!
The food was amazing (mushroom ravioli yum) and Cathy/Avalon staff were very professional. Definitely recommend them.

I absolutely love Cathy and the staff at Avalon Catering! Everyone was so easy to work with and they provide a top of the line service! One of my favorite parts about Avalon is the...
ir dedication to providing only local, fresh, seasonal ingredients. This means they won't serve fresh peaches in December since they aren't obtainable from a local grower at that time of the year. Their focus on quality food for what I think is a great value is so important. Our guests loved their food at the wedding and so did I and my husband. Our tasting was great, but the food actually served absolutely blew us away with its amazing flavor and quality. I saw tons of people going back for second plates! We didn't even have leftovers!
Cathy and her staff were amazing to work with. Everyoe at Avalon was so helpful. The food was outstanding and the attentiveness the day of the wedding was spectacular. The staff wo...

Cathy and the team at Avalon made my April 2013 wedding a huge success. Our venue was the beautiful home of a family friend and while they had hosted large parties and a few small ...
weddings, they'd never done anything there quite as large as our 140 person wedding. Cathy met us at the house several times throughout the planning process to discuss the logistics and flow of the day and her expertise was invaluable to my low stress level. She went above and beyond to answer questions and provide insight in how to make the day perfect.
The food was unbelievable. We had three passed hors d'oeuvres (two kinds of bruschetta, a crispy shrimp filet with avocado salsa and, my personal favorite, a crispy panchetta topped with goat cheese, fig and balsamic reduction) and served dinner family style. The service throughout the evening was perfect, it was so fun watching the caterers bring out the plates of food and seeing my guests' faces light up when they saw the meal. For dinner we had a delicious seasonal salad with fresh peas, radishes, panko breadcrumbs and a tasty buttermilk dressing. The salad was super fresh, crisp and the perfect temperature. Following the salad we had a grilled chicken breast wrapped in proscuitto and a halibut with a tomato buerre blanc sauce that my sister in law wanted to drink straight out of the bowl. For side dishes we had grilled fresh veggies, roasted potatoes and Carolina Gold risotto. Everything was cooked perfectly and served at the right temperature.
Her staff also bar-tended for us at the event and they did a fantastic job. Everyone was friendly and helpful. It gave me great piece of mind knowing the Avalon staff was taking care of things. Everything went smoothly and I would highly recommend them to anyone planning an event.
Avalon was really good. Flexible with the fact that I was gluten free and affordable.
We went in for a taste testing, and left with our caterer decided on! Cathy made our menu for us based on her professional experience with flavors..and created an amazing menu for ...

nth before the to walk through the space and she had some really great ideas. The downside: they were late arriving to setup (~30 min late) and caused a lot of stress for my mother who was expecting them to arrive earlier. However, this did not cause any major problem with the wedding day in the end and the reception was beautiful! I will use this company again in the future.
Avalon catered the food, bartended(we bought our own liquor), and handled the set up, break down, and event coordination at our reception. They were fabulous. The food was deliciou...
s, they made the reception venue look beautiful, and they made the drinks strong! I have to admit that I was fretting before the wedding because they weren't always really responsive to emails and and were late getting contracts and other stuff to us. However, their service on the big day was flawless and I feel very comfortable recommending them to anyone.
