Avalon Manor Banquet Center and Catering

Nicki was my sale coordinator and she did an awesome job. Any time I had a question she would reply back the same day or next. She was great!

We got married at Avalon Manor on 06/07/2019 and the wedding was beautiful and everything went wonderful accept that it was to warm in the banquet center.... I had to ask several times for them to turn the AC up, and the bridal suite was super warm, so everyone in my wedding party was soaked by the time the wedding started... The food was amazing, and they were very accommodating.

Food was fantastic! Very easy venue to work with. I dropped all my stuff off the day before and they set it up perfectly! Such relief to have a venue that sets up!

The venue was beautiful, and they were very accommodating on most things. Food was way better on the day of the event than at the tasting, big plus! The wait staff was great, they made sure both myself and the groom had drinks all night. The only hiccup we had was that they decided to give another wedding 30 of the ceremony chairs, so instead of the 100 we paid for, we only received 70. (Standing room only. lol)

The Avalon Manor was an amazing place to hold our wedding. The staff was very friendly and communication was always there. Jovanka was/is amazing! She helped us out a ton. I'm from IN but live in AL and planning a wedding while being so far away is stressful. Everything that I envisioned they made come to life. I would recommend this venue if you want elegance and a kick ass reception/wedding setup help!

Avalon Manor was an excellent place to have our reception. I had been there many times before for other weddings, so I knew they wouldn't disappoint. First of all, the location is perfect if you have a lot of out of town guests like I did, since it is literally about 2 miles away from I-65 and all the hotels. I didn't want people driving all over NW Indiana if they weren't familiar with the area, especially since my ceremony was held at a different location. Next, Avalon Manor knows what they're doing. They have been in the business for many years and things run like clockwork. The people who work there are amazing and very good at their jobs. Natalie was my contact person and I was in contact with her a ton via email or phone, and she was always able to squeeze me in for a quick meeting whenever I was in town spontaneously and needed to see chair covers, etc (I planned the wedding while living in Indy). Very accommodating and friendly. The venue itself has plenty of space. I had about 175 guests plus a 5-person band and DJ, and we were able to fit everything in quite comfortably (in the room that requires a minimum of 175 people, can't remember the name), along with fitting in the cake table, gift table, and dessert/candy table. The colors of the table covers and chair covers/sashes that were offered were beautiful and perfectly matched my coral and gold wedding colors. As a bonus, the bathrooms here are amazing--beautiful, many stalls and mirrors, and spacious. No one would ever have to wait, which is always nice. Finally, the food here is also quite good, though I wouldn't say the best food I've ever had. The beef medallions seemed to be everyone's favorite, and the grilled chicken with tarragon sauce was also very good. The farfalle pasta with asparagus/sun-dried tomatoes was just okay. But the sides, salads, and drinks were all excellent. Overall, Avalon Manor offers a good bang for your buck. For about $9000, we paid for 175 meals (mostly beef medallions--we did plated meals), the premier bar (or whatever the first tier is called, which includes standard Absolut vodka, etc---aka open bar for our guests!), chair covers and sashes, table covers for the head table, and 2 appetizers (the meals themselves included bread rolls, salads, ice cream, and tea/coffee). And like I said before, the people were very easy to work with. I would highly recommend them.

Everything went so smoothly and our wedding coordinator was so encouraging and helpful. She was able to provide guidance about chair covers, decorations, etc. and was willing to make a few last minute changes in order to accommodate some of our guests. Avalon Manor was the perfect size for our event and I really enjoyed having a designated area for the bridal party to hang out prior to the start of the reception. The food was good as was the service. The only "downfall" is that they will book an event right before yours which minimizes the time your other vendors have for set up and you won't be the only event taking place. There was still plenty of parking, though.

It didn't take long to realize that Avalon wasn't the place to give my fiancé the beautiful wedding reception she deserved. After being engaged for a week I went tour this facility. Didn't receive a single congratulations from the sales rep I sat with. It was outwardly apparent that she wasn't thrilled I asked to see what one of her ballrooms looked like. I asked for a recommendation of a photographer for engagement photos and was met with "I'll give you that if you sign a contract with us". Not the impression I was looking for. They are in a high turnover type business, if you sign with them great and if you don't great they'll find someone else. This was not the feeling I wanted to work with as I want to create and unforgettable night for my bride. It was apparent my reception wouldn't be a priority nor important to them.

I was very happy with Avalon Manor! They did an absolutely beautiful job with our wedding. Out point of contact was very professional, responsive and did a great job of guiding us through the process. On the day of the wedding, the staff and service were phenomenal. The head waitress introduced herself to us and told us to ask her if we needed anything at all. All of the food was brought out in an orderly fashion and on time. People also loved it and we got a lot of compliments on how tasty it was. We did have an issue with one bartender not wanting to serve the bridal party during the 'break' hour, however the head waitress was great and speedily resolved this issue. The only complaint I could possibly have is they aren't very good with the before and after of accommodating your 'stuff'. For example, my mom put together a great sweets table, but she had to go home to pick it all up and then set it up in between the ceremony and reception. It would have been great to be able to just drop that off the afternoon before withe everything else, but the Avalon couldn't accommodate fridge space. In addition, after the wedding, you are supposed to remove everything that night or it will be thrown away. This really kills the celbratory mood because someone has to be sober and coordinate the tear down. I feel like this is a little inconsiderate policy, and it would not be hard to have a rule that things need to be picked up by say 9AM the next morning. These are just things to consider as you book the venue. Also they DO NOT SERVE SHOTS. This was NOT spelled out to me clearly before I signed the contract and I was super bummed - I really wish I would have known that in advance. However, they make mixed drinks so it works out. Overall, we had a very pleasant experience. I would definitely recommend this venue to anyone else!

I had my ceremony and reception at Avalon Manor. I have nothing but positive things to say about my wedding coordinator Sheryl. She was wonderful and helped me get everything exactly as I wanted. I will warn you, however, that what you see is not what you get. Avalon will show you a room, take your deposit and later change your room assignment. Be sure your room assignment is spelled out on your contract or you will get bumped wherever they see fit. This happened to me and a friend of mine as well. The owner is not willing to work with anyone when it comes to making changes. He interrupted my wedding several times and I was not pleased about it. He came in to ask my DJ to move the uplighting in the middle of dinner because he thought it violated some safety code. Also, someone spilled a drink during the reception, they turned on every single light in the place to clean it up. Talk about killing the mood! Also, I was told by Avalon that the doors would open at 5. I had guests sitting in the foyer because the room was not ready until 5:20. Also, my vendors who were told they could come in 2 hours prior (Avalon told me to tell them this) were confused about where to put things since the room was in a complete state of disarray. Once everything was set up, it looked beautiful. The food was great and I got many comments from people about how good it was. I just recommend that if you go with this vendor, work with Sheryl. Also, get EVERYTHING in writing!

Worked with Katie and she was amazing! Great planner who helped throughout the whole process. She definitely tailored to what we wanted. Her organization and the attention by the staff made our unique wedding reception flawless. Even had amazing instructions for decorating. Overall very pleased with service and food. Highly recommended!

Staff was awesome, banquet hall was excellent, everything was perfect. Everyone loved the buffet style food provided for each table.

Selecting the venue was by far the hardest choice, especially when you're trying to maintain a budget. Well Avalon exceeded my expectations at every level. They were so extremely accommodating. Naturally, there are a lot of moving pieces when planning a wedding and every change I requested was executed with a smile. Everything I asked for the response was "yes, we can do that." From the ceremony, to the cocktail hour with our signature cocktail, to dinner the staff was excellent. Most importantly though the food was simply delicious and it didn't break the bank!

I think that they did an amazing job with the entire thing. It was exactly as they said it would be, and nothing was out of place. What you pay for is what you get, and I and My Husband were both very pleased with Avalon Manor.

Great people to work with, very helpful in planning the menu and table arrangements. Very professional, experienced service, in addition to such a beautiful ballroom. We picked the crepes stuffed with chicken and spinach with rice and asparagus, received many compliments on how delicious it was! The servers were very kind and all my guests really enjoyed the shower.

The overall experience at Avalon Manor was amazing! I was however, disappointed with the way my wedding was set up. The coordinator from the hall wrote detailed directions to the head server as to what needed to be set up the day of the wedding and it was not done right. There was still garbage laying around from favors and such when the guests started to arrive and my outside ceremony was not set up right. Other then the set up, the food and service was great!

Avalon Manor was a great, beautiful place to have your wedding. Katie was my representative and she was GREAT! I would recommend the Avalon to anyone I know. Service was outstanding.

The Avalon Manor was absolutely wonderful! The staff was beyond friendly and so helpful! The food..tilipia, chicken, and vegetarian pasta plated dinners were delicious. I recieved so many compliments on the food and most everyone said it was the best wedding food they have ever had and I agree. :) The room was decorated beautifully! They were very accomodationg to any request I had. They were also very reasonable and give a 10% off discount for non-wedding season receptions. Overall,I was extremely pleased and highly reccomend having your reception there!They made our wedding reception very relaxing and a huge success! Everyone is still talking about it!

I love the look and feel of Avalon Manor, however, it was way over budget. The food selection looked wonderful though!

Avalon had delicious food, beautiful lights, a great bar, and friendly staff. The room is very appealing and is decorated with neutral colors so it will match any wedding colors perfectly. They allowed us to store our stuff at the hall which was convenient, my only complaint was they book things so close together that we couldnt get in to decorate our room until 4pm the DAY OF THE WEDDING!

My husband and I booked The Legacy Banquet Center in Valparaiso for our wedding reception. The service and food were fantastic, and the servers were very efficient. 150 guests, buffet dinner. Highly recommended!

We had our reception at Avalon Manor and it was amazing! We got lucky and they ended up remodeling the rooms (paint, carpet, etc.) before our wedding so the ballroom looked even better than when I chose it. The food is amazing! The only reason I didn't give it a 5 is that we were not able to try our food prior to our wedding. Their food tasting is kind of difficult. They will not set up food tastings just for you so you have to hope that their is another event/wedding before yours that is serving the same menu then you can go that night to try it. We did one food tasting on the menu we originally thought we were interested in and ended up not liking that menu so we went out on a limb and chose a menu that we had not tried. It was such great food, but it was a little nerve wracking not knowing what you were going to get. Jayne is very helpful in getting all of the details worked out for you and their staff set all of the favors, gift table items, and guest book items up for us. Another con is that vendors are only allowed in the ballroom 2 hours prior to the event so it doesn't give a lot of room for error. Overall, I was so pleased with our wedding at the Avalon Manor!

Beautiful center pieces, wonderful service and food but the carpet is so ugly! Great deals on Friday weddings.

I'd actually like to rate them at a 4.5 overall. The food was excellent. The service during our wedding was unbeatable. If the price was a little less expensive, I'd have given them a 5/5. Also, the night of the wedding, my now husband placed our toasting glasses on the table with our card box and cake topper so that we would not forget them. One of the servers must have taken them. I don't know if they thought they were the venue's or if they were going to clean them, but we have yet to receive them back. We called and spoke with their wedding consultant and she said she'd call me back since they are not where she last saw them. I hope to get them back soon. Other that that, the wedding turned out great. They set up our favors too. I loved having the bridal room also.

Out of ALL the weddings I have been to...Avalon Manor always stuck out in my mind for their impeccable food, great service, and beautiful decor. So there was no doubt where I wanted to host our reception! But of course, I called EVERYWHERE...checking prices. And Avalon was not only competitive, but actually the best priced for what we were looking for! Our coordinator was super friendly and helpful...and she made an exciting (and somewhat stressful) time a breeze. Perfect place to celebrate you new life together with all your loved ones!

The look of the place is what I loved initially, and all other expectations were blown away. The people were friendly and helpful, the food was delicious, and the options were numerous. The location was also ideal being near I-65.

I worked with Jayne at the Avalon and she was great. Actually the whole staff was great. They made sure everything I wanted was perfect. Great food too.

I must say the avalon manor did a great job on my wedding day. Katie was my contact person there and she really tried to make teh experience as easy and little stress as possible. She always called to follow-up on things and keep us on track. the wedding day went exactly as planned. the food was great at the wedding and the service was impecable. OVerall a great venue for a wedding - would highly recommend.

Avalon Manor is a fabulous, unique and modern facility. I love the atmosphere. The staff in general is superb, white gloved service. The one thing that got me mad was that they have a high limit on what you can bring in for your reception, which limited my creativity. I wanted to do a fun candy or chocolate table, but unless you purchased it from them (at a higher rate than what you can find elsewhere), it wasn't worth it ... same with the chair covers. They have them at their bridal fair, yet you can't use them at their facility. That was one thing that definately urked me. There are three rooms at the facility and you definately can't tell that there are other rooms w/ parties going on, I felt like I was the only bride there. Overall great experience and I love the stair entrance during introductions.

Beautiful, Beautiful, Beautiful! I felt like a princess walking in with my prince. The decor was excellent and exactly what I wanted. We had a muriel painting on the wall behind us at our table which made for a lovely background in our pictures. The food was delicious! The staff was very attentive and wonderful to not only my husband and I but all of our friends and family. The price was right! So many things were included for the price which we were pleased with. I could not have chosen a better place to have my wedding reception and I refer them to everyone I know that is in need of a place to hold their receptions or events!
