Kelsey of Back Bay Bride was truly a dream to work with. We were planning a wedding out of state, so we needed help with recommendations of local venues and vendors, organization of all our wedding decor and budget, and streamlined communication with our entire wedding team leading up to the day. We interviewed a handful of wonderful planners, but Kelsey stuck out the most.
She was the only planner who followed up promptly, invested time in researching local venues that fit our guest list size and budget BEFORE we even signed a contract with her, and took the time to genuinely get to know our love story.
From day one, she thoroughly laid out the whole process of what to expect leading up to the wedding day. Throughout our year of wedding planning with Kelsey, we had multiple milestone meetings to discuss our vision, ideas, and progress, and next steps, all accompanied by a very thorough and detailed deck to stay on track. I always felt like we were very on top of everything and her communication and transparency was flawless. She always was respectful of our budget and presented a variety of ideas and options to fit our needs and wants.
On top of her diligent and detailed process and extensive knowledge of the wedding industry, Kelsey truly made our vision come to life. I really appreciated her bringing unique and special ideas to the table, especially things I didn't think of! She has a keen eye for style and pays close attention to the small, meaningful details. Kelsey was absolutely the most incredible planner and designer and deciding to work with her was easily the best decision we made when planning our destination wedding in Maine! We would give her 100 stars if we could! About a year and a half out from our September 2022 wedding, we already had our vendors fully booked but I was so overwhelmed by all the design options available and the sheer number of details involved in the big day, especially planning everything from New York. Kelsey came to the rescue and was truly our hero! She quickly helped us finalize a wedding aesthetic that we loved, incorporating so many design elements we never would have thought of on our own (including a flower chandelier and oyster shell escort card gallery wall). She is so knowledgeable about the industry and Maine vendors and did SO much behind the scenes coordination on our behalf that it made the planning process on our end so smooth and truly enjoyable- from ensuring our floral designs were just right, to coordinating the full wedding signage and stationary process on our behalf, to managing the entire shopping list and assembly of everything needed to make the day gorgeous and super custom. As we approached the wedding day, I was truly stress-free and so confident that everything would be amazing, because Kelsey was ten steps ahead, ensuring everything was flawless and smooth. Moreover, she was super responsive, insanely organized, and simply an absolute pleasure to work with!
Our wedding day was more gorgeous than I could have ever dreamt of thanks to Kelsey’s incredible design talent and out-of-this-world attention to detail. Our guests literally audibly gasped when they saw the reception tent (as did we!). Moreover, Kelsey truly did the impossible for us by turning a drab hotel meeting room into a custom tiki bar and lounge for our wedding after party, complete with a tiki bar she fully designed and amazing furniture she sourced from local vendors we never would have known about. My husband and I love tiki bars and Kelsey executed on our whimsical vision above and beyond anything we could have imagined.
All our guests raved it was the best wedding they have ever been to, and so much of that was due to the incredible work Kelsey did to make our day the most stunning and seamless event possible! Thank you so much, Kelsey, for bringing our dream wedding to life and making the process so fun!

My daughter hired Kelsey to “outsource” her anxiety while planning a wedding in Maine from her home in Brooklyn. As mother of the bride I was absolutely impressed by all the different jobs Kelsey took on from going with us to Portsmouth to chose the table settings, to actually constructing a tiki bar. She has an artistic eye and great attention to detail as well as being a positive and friendly presence. Highly recommend!

There aren’t enough words to describe how thankful we are to have had Kelsey as our wedding planner! Kelsey is truly the best in the business and we cannot recommend her enough. She helped us plan our wedding for almost 3 years due to covid rescheduling and I don’t know what we would’ve done without her. Throughout the entire planning process, Kelsey was extremely communicative, organized, and incredibly thoughtful with all of her suggestions on how to make our day feel special and representative of us as a couple. For our venue, we had to bring in all rentals, catering, alcohol, etc and Kelsey placed all of those orders for us and organized all those details seamlessly so we never had to worry about a thing. On our wedding day, Kelsey made sure everything was exactly where it was supposed to be and everything looked flawless. Hiring Kelsey of Back Bay Bride was by far the best decision my husband and I made when beginning the planning process for our Maine wedding in late 2019. I cannot recommend her highly enough and have personally referred her to several of my friends currently planning weddings.
Kelsey guided us seamlessly through the planning process, coordinated expertly with all our vendors, and brought an absolutely stunning vision to life on our big day! We postponed our wedding by a full year due to the COVID pandemic and Kelsey handled all of the uncertainty and ambiguity graciously and efficiently. She answered all our questions quickly and was sure to keep us on task as well!
The day of our wedding was absolutely flawless, Kelsey and her assistant handled all day-of coordination for set-up and take-down and kept the whole evening on track. We had nearly two years to plan our wedding, so I figured I got this. Well after planning from afar and then moving to the city we got married in, I truly didn't know where to start. Kelsey was highly recommended to me from a friend and I couldn't begin to thank her for all her support planning, execution and day of wedding coordination. She recommended vendors I now love and will continue to use, she helped me to focus design choices, she coordinated with vendors and ran around on my wedding day so I didn't have to worry about a thing. Kelsey is one of the most detail-oriented yet big picture visionaries I've come across in this industry. She is creative, yet organized. Communicative, but not in your face, and man does she hustle day of. Kelsey will help you feel supported and heard, but comes to the rescue at the most perfect times! We hired Kelsey to plan our entire wedding- her hard work and vision created a wedding that was far beyond anything we even dreamed of. Kelsey was super friendly and very easy to get along with. I would recommend her to anyone! My finance and I were a lot more hands on then most but she still navigated us and was also there to help with anything we needed. Aside from the basic aspects you'd hope to find in anyone you work with (e.g. professionalism, punctuality, responsiveness, flexibility, etc....) which Kelsey certainly possesses in abundance, I think that what truly makes her stand out as a totally essential part of this whole wedding process is her intuitive ability to understand your needs and wishes and bring them to life in a seemingly effortless, completely stress-free way. Hiring Kelsey will be one of the best decisions you make during the wedding planning process. It's tough to find someone who is creative AND organized, but Kelsey is amazing at both! She took the initiative to schedule touch base calls which really helped me focus throughout the wedding planning process. I was very overwhelmed by what to do and when to do it, but Kelsey broke it down into stages for me which made it not only manageable, but fun! I was also nervous that the decor would be too expensive and outside of my budget, but Kelsey had clever ideas on how to achieve the look for less in a way that was tasteful and something I could be proud of. What I love most about Kelsey is the way she is able to customize ideas to fit YOUR personality. Our wedding was truly a reflection of my husband and I. By no means was it an out of the box theme that you've seen time and time again. Her strong suit is coming up with unique ideas that are personal to you rather than something that just looks like a Pinterest board repin. Another one of Kelsey's strengths is her ability to understand and listen. Sometimes I had a hard time articulating my ideas and style, but Kelsey practically read my mind! Even if you can't seem to find the words for what you're trying to explain, Kelsey just gets it. I could seriously go on and on about why she is so amazing to work with ... you will be in *amazing* hands with Back Bay Bride!
I worked with Kelsey for my wedding in July 2018 and it was the best decision I made throughout the entire wedding planning process! I am a wedding photographer, so I had a pretty good idea for what I wanted my wedding to look like but I was having such a hard time pulling all the little details together and really making my vision come to life. Kelsey helped me tie all the details together in a way that was even better than what I had in my head. She gave me an awesome shopping list, detailing exactly where to buy everything and made sure it fit within my budget. She was available to answer any question I had throughout the entire process and it was just so nice to have someone as talented and experienced as her to bounce ideas off of. I can't recommend Back Bay Bride for your wedding day highly enough!!
Kelsey was amazing! She was very receptive and easy to communicate throughout our wedding planning process, and the phone calls to go over everything were very helpful. Our wedding day was more perfect than we could have ever imagined thanks to Kelsey! She was there all weekend making sure everything went smoothly, and the set up, design, and big and small details were exactly what we had dreamed of and more. She let me enjoy being a bride, and I did not have to worry about anything else which was huge. I would recommend her to every New England bride!

She is extremely organized, detail oriented, and thorough which made the entire wedding planning process completely stress free (and I am the queen of stress) Hiring her as our wedding planner was hands down one of the best decisions we made! Kelsey’s attention to detail was critical to our wedding day going as smoothly as it did. Ten minutes before our ceremony was about to start, a mini hurricane came sweeping through the yard, Kelsey threw on her rain boots and was in the yard fixing everything before I had a chance to see all the damage that had happened. Kelsey is so incredibly talented! I can't say enough amazing things about what it's like working with her! Kelsey and I met up for coffee and clicked from the second we met, so we decided to plan a styled shoot together! The next day, Kelsey already created an incredible mood board that represented our vision perfectly. Just based off the mood board alone, I could tell how detail-oriented she is and how much she cared about our project! Throughout the whole planning process, Kelsey was so communicative and well organized. She handled every detail so smoothly coordinating with all of the vendors involved - I never felt like I had to worry about a thing. The day of the shoot, Kelsey was phenomenal! Her calm demeanor made me feel incredibly at ease and when one of the candles for our table setup didn’t look quite right, she had 5 more as backup! She is an absolute dream to work with and I already can’t wait for our next collaboration!
I absolutely would not have been able to plan my wedding without Kelsey. She was so amazing from start to finish of the wedding planning process, from early on creating design boards for inspiration to get my style nailed down to later on helping with final linen, decor, and logistic decisions. Kelsey is nothing short of talented. My joke with my fiance is that I hired Kelsey before we were even engaged, except I'm not kidding! She goes above and beyond to be more than just a planner, she is the visionary, the researcher and the executor. Within no time she feels like a true partner in making your dream wedding come true. While we are still in the planning phase of our wedding, I can confidently say that I am utterly excited for the unique beauty and attention to detail Kelsey brings to the New England weddings that she plans.
From the day we began planning, Kelsey was incredibly organized offering spreadsheets and well-composed emails to calm my overwhelmed bride mind. The first thing I noticed, she listens to exactly what it is that you're dreaming of for your wedding day, and then she somehow puts all of your disorganized thoughts into professional and stunning Mood Board with what I've come to call a wedding mission statement to set the tone for every other detail of the day. She has incredible relationships with vendors so when you tell Kelsey a specific style of a vendor that you had in mind, she can instantly offer a few suggestions and introductions. Even better, if you say “Hey, I have no idea what I'm doing in this category, help!” she's also got that covered. So far, she has absolutely nailed every single vendor we've met and we know it's only the beginning. She is everything you are looking for in a professional planner; creative, responsive and genuinely excited for your wedding day and I could not imagine going through this crazy process without her guidance.
We hired Kelsey as our Day of Coordinator pretty late into our planning process, but we wish we had found her a year earlier because she was SO helpful. Everytime we met, Kelsey was prepared, had great suggestions and helped guide me on what to focus my efforts on next. She also reached out to all of my vendors ahead of time and every single one went out of their way to tell me that we were in great hands for our big day.
Come wedding weekend, I didn't have to worry about a thing. She had a big wedding party of opinionated people to deal with, and she handled it flawlessly. Our family and bridal party trusted her so much that I saw them going directly to her with questions -- it was a huge relief for me.
Day of, everything went off perfectly, and if something did go wrong, I didn't know about it, which in my mind is the ultimate sign of a great planner. My husband and I were able to enjoy our day worry-free and know for a fact that the day wouldn't have gone off nearly as smoothly if Kelsey hadn't done such an amazing job.
Long story short, Kelsey lives and breathes organizational skills and beautiful wedding design. We couldn't recommend her enough.
Kelsey helped me find a last-minute videographer for my wedding, and although I didn't use her to plan my wedding as a whole, I wish I had! She is very quick to respond, organized, and connected to some very talented vendors. I am so unbelievably happy with the video of my wedding, and anyone who chooses to have Kelsey plan their wedding will have a beautiful result!
I cannot speak more highly of Kelsey. She's absolutely amazing. Through our year long planning, Kelsey was very reliable, always quick to respond, went above and beyond and very thorough and attentive. She made herself available in the way that best fit my schedule which varied between meetings in-person, via phone or FaceTime.
Kelsey really has a gift for nailing an overall theme and bringing a bride's vision to life. For me personally, nailing the overall theme was overwhelming and that's when I luckily met Kelsey! After describing my [probably confusing] vision, Kelsey pulled together a very professional slideshow nailing what I was looking for. I immediately felt as ease. She just got it! This slide deck she put together for my husband and I not only had inspirational images, but also included examples of items we could use to recreate the creative ideas at varying price points.
Not only did she nail my vision, but she made it better! She's so creative and has ideas that are outside the box. I felt like the details of our wedding were so unique and our guests consistently complimented these little details. They make all the difference!
I cannot tell you how much less stressful my day was knowing that she was holding down the fort. She managed/coordinate our vendors timelines [DJ, floral, etc] and was in contact wit them through planning, week of and day of. She nailed all the decor placement for cocktail hour and reception as well. She even took the time to check in with me bright and early! I just knew that everything would be immaculate because Kelsey was setting it up and approving it. I was able to thoroughly enjoy my wedding day and can't thank Kelsey enough for that! She also was so giving to loan items that she has like gold votives and white cake stands. Then the day after our wedding, she came back and packed up the entire ballroom which by no means had to do... at all! She goes above and beyond. I absolutely love her.
Also - another thing is that while Kelsey was a professional fly on the wall during our wedding, a few of our guests must have approached her to see who she was because my husband and I heard from a couple people about how sweet she was. You'd think that they'd be like "oh cool, that's their wedding planner" and move on, but Kelsey's sweetness is so contagious that they thought enough to tell us how nice she is.

It often got so overwhelmed with all the things that needs to get done and planned, but Kelsey helped me every step of the way, even creating a schedule for me to keep me on track.
