From our first meeting with Barb, we knew we were in the best hands to help plan my daughter’s wedding! We loved her down to earth personal approach matched with a vast knowledge of vendors, professional insight, and years of experience. We knew we were in knowledgable, organized, & helpful hands. Throughout the wedding planning, she & Abby kept us on track with their organizational skills, enthusiasm, & attention to detail. From the initial vendor selection to last minute day of events, their communication remained impeccable. Barb kept in close contact with emails, check ins, and willingly set up phone calls. From the initial consult through the wedding day, Barb & Abby were with us every step of the way. From the largest to the smallest detail, they had it covered with suggestions and solutions while incorporating our ideas and choices. As mother of the bride, I valued the pep talks, patience, and kindness every step of the way. The wedding day went smoothly & stress-free in large part due to the team’s calm and confident approach. Barb and Abby offer very professional event and customer service. From the first contact, we appreciated Barb's responsiveness, knowledge, connections, and ideas. She listened to what we wanted our day to feel like, made many calls on our behalf, and helped make our day a success on a short timeline. Barb and Abby were amazing! We had the “Forevermore” (aka the full planning package) and we never had a single doubt that it was right for us. Then the questions and timelines started coming in and there was a feeling we were going to get divorced before we got married! With Barb Wired we had easy to manage checklists, great vendor recommendations, and the answer to any questions that arose. Barb is outrageously responsive and her depth of experience is obvious. Abby gave lovely insights into our websites, hotel blocks, and our side events (welcome drinks and brunch). You only get one chance to get a wedding right and having Barb and Abby made it go off without a hitch and with minimal stress. At the beginning, we were a bit hesitant to hire a wedding planner. First, we have already done a big chunk of the work. Second, we were planning a middle eastern wedding so we weren’t sure if wedding planners would get what that entails. We were very wrong. Barb went above and beyond in every dimension. There were so many fine details details we were unaware of that needed to be arranged before hand like lunch for bridesmaids and a steaming plan for the dress. Choosing Barb Wired was the absolute best decision our daughter made for her wedding. Barb knows numerous outstanding vendors and has worked with them often. Everyone worked together smoothly, which was especially important as we converted our home into a venue. She made several visits to our home at some significant distance to plan and coordinate. She and her team went above and beyond in many ways.

I could not have been more pleased with her professionalism, kindness, attention to detail, and calm demeanor. We began planning June 2020 for a May 2021 wedding. From the first meeting, all stress was removed. She listened to Hannah’s vision; provided a roadmap and support, from caterers to the band to florists. Barb knows the business and knows the vendors. She never imposed but when asked, always provided her wisdom and insight. When Virginia Governor imposed COVID mandates at farms and wineries, she kept me informed and when the time came, she found another venue for the wedding- just 6 weeks out. Yes. We moved the whole thing. She didn’t miss a beat! Hannah’s wedding was stunning. She enjoyed her day as did me and my husband!! We adore her. She is all business- but you will find her heart for her brides is uncompromising.

Barb is the best! My now-husband proposed in December of 2018, and we knew we wanted to get married within a year. We decided on September 27th, 2019. With a relatively short timeline, it was important to us to have professional guidance throughout the planning process. We could not have made a better choice than Barb Wired. Barb assisted us at every step of the planning process. My husband is Persian, and Barb helped us to seamlessly coordinate two separate ceremonies – an Episcopalian ceremony and a traditional Persian Sofreh Aghd. She also helped us find a beautiful location for the ceremonies and reception, suggested an incredible caterer with a talented chef, secured transportation and accommodations for our guests, and coordinated the timeline for the day with our many other vendors – just to provide a few examples. Having attended very few weddings ourselves, we were unsure of what to expect. Barb provided us with suggestions and feedback based on her previous experience but respected our decision if we chose to go in a different direction. Once my husband and I had agreed on our vision for the wedding, she worked hard with the other vendors to make it happen. She was quick to respond to every call and email, regardless of the day and time. It was such a comfort to know that we could come to her with any question or complication, and she would look for a solution with positivity and enthusiasm. She really treated us like family. On the day of the wedding, Barb brought a support team to help make sure everything went smoothly. We felt confident that they would be able to handle any issues we encountered. Barb and her team helped plan the most amazing and beautiful wedding for my husband and I! I will be eternally grateful to Barbara Lundgren and her team of Carmen, Deb, Lauren, Shelly and Amanda ("Barb Wired") for what they did to create the perfect wedding for my daughter and her husband. My husband and I live in Ohio, the bride and groom live in LA and 99% of the guests came in from out of town, out of state and out of country. I could not have hosted this wedding without her. I was surprised that my daughter, who works in the fundraising and event planning field, wanted to hire an event planner. Best decision. Smart daughter. She hired Barbara because, compared to others she spoke to, Barbara LISTENED and explained how she would execute the ideas my daughter had for her day. Barbara came up with a decor plan using personal items that came from Ohio and complemented them with items from her own inventory. She was organized, calm, professional and always had the perfect solution for dilemmas that come up when working with limited budgets and managing 150 out-of-town guests. Our guests are still talking about how organized everything was, how friendly Barbara and her staff were, not realizing that she kept everything moving according to a very strict timeline. She knew all the ins and outs of having a ceremony at UVA Chapel, parking, security, traffic patterns, quick getaways and all our vendors were all familiar and comfortable dealing with her. It broke our hearts that Barbara had a very personal tragedy in the loss of her father the week before my daughter's wedding. At that point we understood that she needed to be with her family but she scheduled emails and calls late at night. It made an impression on me because my 93 year old father travelled from Australia for the wedding. She ELIMINATED any stress in the days before and on the wedding day. Her staff loaded up our cars with all the items we brought from Ohio and we drove off 10 minutes after the last guests had left! Priceless! Barbara became a friend with whom I hope to keep in touch. My daughter and I miss our contact with her.

It is my absolute pleasure to write this review for Barbara Lundgren and her amazing team at Barb Wired. We could not have made it through our wedding planning process without Barbara. Though my husband and I currently live in California, when we became engaged, we knew we wanted our wedding to be in Charlottesville as the town holds a special place in our hearts for various reasons. As I began planning, I quickly became overwhelmed by the challenges of organizing a wedding from a distance. I realized I was not familiar with local venues and vendors, and on top of that, a three hour time difference and miles of distance made coordinating phone calls and meetings difficult. We hired Barbara and everything changed. Barbara is very well connected and highly respected within the Charlottesville wedding industry. After our first conversation, I knew I was in good hands. Barbara spoke with me for over an hour—asking questions about myself, my style, my vision, and my family. Planning became fun as Barbara guided us every step of the way. Despite the distance between us, Barbara always made time for my calls and was always extremely prompt in her email responses. She is a busy lady, but she always made me feel like I was her first priority—I truly don’t know how she did it! Of course throughout the year there were times where we’d feel like we wouldn’t possibly get everything done or couldn’t possibly find a solution to a logistics problem. We’d call Barbara in a panic, and she would always have the answer. We’d hang up the phone feeling organized and relieved. We even had a catchphrase we used throughout planning—“I freaking love Barbara”. This was used in text, email and phone conversations with my mother and my husband all year long. She had a solution for everything, and we “freaking loved her” for it. I am admittedly a “type A” person who also has a lot of ideas—a handful of a combination! Barbara helped me edit and worked with me to execute an event that was elegant, cohesive, and more beautiful than I ever could have imagined. We are forever grateful to Barbara and to her incredible team for working so hard to create such a perfect day for us. Debra, Carmen, Lauren, Shelly and the rest of the Barb Wired staff took such care and paid such close attention to every last detail. Through the hustle and bustle of the day, they were always smiling and ready to jump in and assist with whatever was needed. The wedding truly was flawless, and I know everything ran so smoothly because of the hard work of dedicated and passionate people. My husband and I were able to enjoy our guests and relax at our reception knowing Barbara and her team were taking care of everything behind the scenes. This was especially appreciated as many of our guests traveled to Charlottesville from out of state or from overseas. Seeing Barbara the morning of my wedding was like seeing a friend. I was so happy to see her and have her with me. Aside from being an incredible event planner, therapist :) and voice of reason, Barbara is a lovely, warm, caring person. I thought that hiring the manager at our venue as a day-of coordinator would be enough for us, but it really wasn't. Doing that still leaves you on your own to shop and source vendors, negotiate contracts, all while never knowing if you're getting taken advantage of. It feels like you have no one on your side. Barb and her team are there for YOU and you only - they are YOUR advocates and will help you navigate a complicated industry so that you have the best experience possible.

Barb Wired came highly recommended to us, and as soon as we met them it became clear that they were seasoned professionals who'd seen and done it all. They were perfect--unobtrusive when we needed to be left alone, and there immediately when we needed them. Particularly in the last couple of months, Barb and her staff were absolute lifesavers, coordinating all our vendors' details and saving us innumerable headaches. They were warm and personable without being pushy, and respected our needs and wants while offering their own (usually spot-on) ideas in a straightforward and low-key manner. The day-of coordination was seamless, and it was a huge relief to be able to tell the guests who came to ask us for logistical details, "just ask the lady with the clipboard--she's the boss." Our only regret is that we don't have "the lady with the clipboard" to run the rest of our lives!

Barb was very responsive before our wedding and did a great job helping us to manage all of the vendors required to execute an outdoor Hindu wedding. Barb and her team also provided great day-of coordination that helped to keep our wedding events on time (!) while making the weekend stress-free for the entire wedding party.

After dealing with almost all of the wedding planning myself for about 10 months, my dad convinced me to hire a day-of wedding coordinator to take some of the stress off my shoulders in the final 2 months pre-wedding. It was one of the best decisions I made throughout the whole planning process. Shelly Su of Barb Wired helped coordinate arrival times for vendors, floor plans, timelines, etc. There was so much she took care of those last few weeks that I have no idea how I would've put it all together without them! When problems arose, Shelly and her assistant Morgan didn't even break a sweat, and instead took the initiative to try to fix it (florist issues...) and I hardly knew anything was wrong. They kept us in line with the timeline and they were flexible if changes needed to be made, like postponing father/daughter dance to circulate with our guests. During the honeymooon, all my husband and I could talk about was how absolutely perfect the wedding day was, and we know it wouldn't have been as smooth without Shelly and Morgan. I seriously do not know what I would've done without them and cannot thank them enough. Thanks, Shelly and Morgan!!

When my future husband proposed, I was working with Barb Wired part-time and starting my career in event management. I love details, timelines, checklists, etc., but as soon as we started planning, I knew I needed some support to make sure all the details were taken care of, especially as we got closer to our date. We moved to NC and were planning from a distance, so it was great to have Barb there to double check everything and make sure all the vendors knew where to be when. I knew a lot of the vendors, but was working on a small budget so she worked with me to get creative and figure out how to have our dream wedding on the budget we actually had and was able to recommend vendors when the people I had originally thought of were unable on our day. On our wedding day, everyone was able to be so relaxed and my husband was astonished when we arrived to our reception how well everything came together and that everything was set up without us having to take time during the day to set out any signs/napkins/etc. Barb, Iris, and the team were amazing :) They were so sweet and helpful! Barbara Lundgren is THE expert of wedding planning. She is organized with project planning templates and extremely professional. Her and her event planning team at Barb Wired are friendly, courteous, and a joy to work with. The team communicates well and made us feel very comfortable throughout out the planning process. We had a traditional Indian Hindu wedding, which comprised of a Sangeet (Rehearsal Dinner/ Dinner-Dance Party), Wedding Ceremony, and Reception. There were a lot of moving parts and given the size and remote locations (gorgeous venues!! that Barb helped us pick!) we were able to put together the most intricate plan for a wedding! Barbara's calm demeanor made all of the events go through smoothly. She worked through any last-minute changes and pressure gracefully without worrying me, the bride, or my family. She handled any obstacles and came up with solutions on her own and then informed me of the challenge and the solution afterwards so that I was in the loop and didn't have to worry at all! Barbara is well-connected with the most talented and professional vendors to create what I call a DREAM TEAM that truly made our dream wedding come true. It was such a hit! Our guests are still raving about the events. Barbara, the Barb Wired team, as well as the vendors that comprised our DREAM TEAM are so dear to our hearts. Thanks to Barb, I was able to completely enjoy my daughter's wedding day. I did not worry about any of the vendors, or forgetting something at the church or during the reception. Barb and her staff did an excellent job of making sure everything was done just as we had planned ahead of time. Barb gave my daughter great suggestions on vendors to consider and we were happy with every single one. I would highly recommend using Barb for planning and for making the day very special for the mother of the bride!

I hired Barb with the intention of having her be the day-of coordinator for our wedding. I was worried about some logistics (most notably, transportation to the UVA Chapel from two different hotels in such a short time frame) and the small details that I -- never having been married before -- would be likely to forget or not know in the first place. When my fiancée and I spoke with Barb for the initial consultation, we both knew she was the right choice: personable, experienced, and extremely competent. We had tons of questions, and she had answers for everything. She doesn't have a "day-of" plan, so we hired her for the "month-of", which meant we got her help with some of the vendor coordination and logistical concerns in the month or so run up to the wedding. She saved our butts on transportation and helped guide us through things (like the ceremony details) that neither of us had a clue about. She made both the rehearsal and the wedding day go very smoothly, and we had no issues in large part thanks to her. It is hard to say all that she did for us, but I think that the low level of stress we both felt (and my mother-in-law felt) on the day of the wedding was a direct result of her guidance and help through the process. If you're looking for a wedding coordinator or planner in Charlottesville, you'd be a fool not to hire her.

Barbara and her team did an AMAZING job for our wedding at the Visitor Center at Monticello. We can't thank them enough for ensuring that every detail was covered and that everything ran smoothly throughout the night. Barbara and Shelly were incredibly thorough using checklists that included every vendor and timelines telling every member of our wedding party and immediate family exactly where they needed to be and when (which we desperately needed with all of our wedding party and both of families coming in from out of town)! Barb and her team were spectacular! I can say without a doubt that our wedding went perfectly because of all Barb's help throughout the planning process and everything she and her team did the day of the wedding! Barb gave us a list of vendors she had worked with and trusted and then we interviewed and picked the ones that fitted our needs. She helped us plan out all the details of not one, but two ceremonies (Christian and Hindu), as well as coordinating a tea time, a cocktail hour and our reception. I was a bride who did not feel like I needed a planner and I felt like it was just a splurge for brides who didn't want to or didn't have time to plan their own wedding. Then I met Barb. While I still planned most of my wedding (I chose the more "independent" package but she has another package that is more inclusive with more services), her expertise and eye for detail was invaluable. Our wedding day was so smooth because of Barb and her team. I felt calm and collected knowing they were handling the vendors and dealing with the unfortunate rain that graced my outdoor wedding. I can't recommend her enough or stress that her services are really not just a luxury, but an absolute necessity unless you are a bride who wants to be dealing with all of the little issues on your wedding day that Barb is so experienced in handling.

Hiring Barb Wired is an absolute must for having a wedding! I can't recommend them highly enough. Iris and Barb provided excellent advice, guidance, suggestions, and support throughout the planning process, and then orchestrated everything PERFECTLY on the big day. I basically showed up to the wedding without a care in the world - I completely trusted that Iris and her team would have things running smoothly, and all I needed to do was enjoy the wedding! Looking back on the wedding, I now can't imagine attending the reception and ceremony without someone else organizing the event, and Iris (and her staff) were the definition of professional, friendly, and competent. My husband and I used Barb Wired for our day-of wedding coordinator(s) and were extremely pleased with the entire team. By having Barb, Alana, and Abby on hand, we were free to enjoy the day and celebrate with our guests rather than worrying about the scheduling/ logistics/ coodination of all the vendors. Our day went swimmingly and I know it's because of all the hard work Barb & team were doing throughout the day. Barb also served as a great resource throughout the planning process.

Any time I needed anything, I had someone there to make sure it was taken care of. Also, the majority of the time, they had already done it before I even thought of it. Having Barb Wired involved in my wedding day allowed me to truly relax and enjoy the day, knowing that things were taken care of and in the experts' hands. I'm so glad I hired Barb Wired and would make the same decision again in a heartbeat!

We loved working with Barb Wired. They were flexible in working to plan our wedding from afar and were absolutely professional and indispensable on the day of the wedding. They were so friendly and made everything run smoothly and flawlessly. We couldn't have pulled off our perfect wedding without them! Definitely worth having!

We hired Iris and Barb Wired for "day of planning" but they ended up going above and beyond. Recommendations of various venders, last minute rehearsal dinner suggestions when our prior contracted rehearsal venue was sold, major organization - pre wedding and day of - and complete execution of event. We primarily worked with Iris, but emailed and spoke with Barb and she is just as fabulous! Iris was excellent in helping us think through all the details and make sure everything went according to plan. She created this checklist of everything and timeline for pre wedding and wedding events. It was excellent to keep all our vendors on the same page. Iris is fabulous over email - very responsive and organized. I am very Atype and was initally concerned about being able to let go.... When we got a few weeks out, I did not have a single doubt. Iris and the other Barb Wired employees were excellent and exceeded my expectations.

Barb and her team did an amazing job with my wedding- including helping with planning leading up to the big day and paying attention to every detail on the day of the wedding!! Barb was wonderful to work with and provided the best recommendations of other vendors in the area. We got married at Keswick Vineyards and I remember on our wedding day Cindy, the owner said to me you put together the "A-List" of vendors- with the help of Barb!

My wedding was wonderful - but it wouldn't have been done without Barbed Wire. We hired Barbed Wire so that my mother and I could just enjoy the day, stress free. Barbed Wire delivered on this (and then some). They provided support and assistance throughout the planning process. They provided fantastic recommendations and kept us on track - their advice was always spot on and their timing was always perfect. One of the greatest feats that they accomplished was finding a German-speaker officiant. They tracked someone down in Baltimore, who turned out to be absolutely perfect. We worked mostly with Iris, who was a delight.

We very much appreciated Iris' help and coaching leading up to the big day, and her help and presence, and that of her assistants, at the reception helped make that event the happy and worry-free event we hoped it would be.

I knew I wanted a wedding coordinator early on, and some other Charlottesville vendors had recommended Barb Wired first. Reasonably priced, Barb and her team made my day run smoothly and kept me calm and on schedule. It was clear from my first consultation that she was professional and experienced. Barb knew most all my other vendors and had worked weddings at both the church where we got married and the reception venue. I'm very pleased with her services, and I would highly recommend Barb Wired to anyone getting married in the Charlottesville area!

Barbara and her terrific colleagues were one of the best vendors we could have hired for our wedding! They were a wonderfully competent, calming, smiling presence throughout the weekend, and gave us the incredible gift of being able to actually relax and enjoy the ceremony and reception without worrying about logistics and details. We used Barb Wired just for "day of" services, but drew on Barb's expertise and help for a good six months or more during planning - her customer service is superlative! Highly, highly recommend.

I agree with all of the earlier comments. Barb and her team worked with us to help figure out the essential details well in advance. She had a broad knowledge of the Charlottesville area where we got married, and offered lots of helpful, general suggestions along the way. Also, she was in touch with our vendors once we had chosen them (vendors she recommended and had worked with) so although we did the legwork of interviewing everyone, we didn't have to touch base when things were most stressful, and were confident in her working relationships with them. With wonderful but clueless parents who had never had a wedding themselves, I was in desperate need of some help throughout the wedding planning process, and BarbWired delivered just that!

We hired Barbara to assist us with things here and there throughout the planning process but then to basically take over a week or two from the big day. She did not dissapoint. She took over contact with all vendors, worked out a few minor issues and helped the day go off without a noticable hitch. I can't tell you the number of times we were complimented on how fluidly and well organized the ceremony went off which is exactly what we had hoped would happen! we also hired her to decorate the venue in conjunction with the florist which was a great decision (which is why our cost of the service may appear to be be a bit higher than other reviews). It was hard for my mom to spend the money to pay someone for something she felt as if she was capable of doing however as she was dancing the night away at my reception I think she realized what a great investment it was to hire Barbara and her staff. We will recommend her services to anyone who asks.

I am still speechless, so I'll try to convey through writing how impressed we were with Barb Wired. First I should explain the nightmare of a coordinator we had for about three weeks prior to seeking assistance elsewhere... I drew the line when discussing GLASSWARE over the phone, ended up with a "sample" plastic punch glass with a couple wedding bells stamped on the front as a result of the conversation - uuuggg! So we went wedding coordinator shopping and as I have fond memories of growing up in the Shenandoah Valley and the farm locked on the name "Barb Wired" and we couldn't have picked a better company if we tried. Our first conversation with Barb and her associates can be best described with the words gracious and in-tune. They listened to every word we said, every dream we've ever had, every detail was covered and the most impressive part they remember it all! Your experience with Barb Wired will make you feel like you are their only client, you will feel like you have new best friends, and fortunately they take their jobs so seriously that your wedding day becomes just as or even more important to them than it will be to you! They think of everything, all the assistants work seamlessly with one another - it's incredible what they can and will do for you! If there were a higher rating, I would select it because it is almost indescribable how Barb Wired created and orchestrated the most important day of our lives. Many people say how your wedding day goes is indicative of how your life will go - if that's the case I'll look forward to many years of no worries, relaxation, easy-going aura, and good times all around. Barb Wired does not disappoint!
