Barn 1888 offers a stunning rustic, yet elegant venue to exchange your wedding vows, or host your event. At Barn 1888, we’ll make sure the vision for your special event becomes a reality and goes off without a glitch. Barn 1888 is conveniently located 30 minutes from Grand Rapids, Kalamazoo, and the Lakeshore in the town of Hopkins. Our Venue will offer everything you need to create the stunning occasion you and your guests will always remember. The barn, originally built in 1888 still maintains the exposed wood beams, weathered plank walls, and a soaring vaulted ceiling displaying the gambrel roof. The Barn can seat 200 guests, and also has an open balcony, and staircase that looks down on the lower level which is used for cocktails, appetizers, and dancing. The lower level can also be rented in the off season for smaller events as well. Barn 1888 has 2 Bathrooms in the Barn, 2 on the lower level, a Large Bridal Suite with its own private bathroom, Groomsman's room, and a prep area for the Caterer's. If you're planning on more than 200 guests, a Canopy Tent can be rented and placed on the property for a guest count of up to 300. Barn 1888 is also Handicap accessible, with an ADA Bathroom on each level, and a wheelchair ramp to the Barn. If you are looking to have your Ceremony at Barn 1888 it's all included in the Venue price. Ceremonies can take place in the courtyard, Chapel Gardens, Main Barn, or anywhere on the 20 acre property that fits your style. Endless beauty surrounds your every move whether you are inside or out. Tours are available by appointment to view the Venue. We are booking for 2023, 2024, 2025, and 2026. My husband and I had the wedding of our dreams, and Barn 1888 played a huge role in making that dream come true. We knew the moment we stepped foot on this beautiful property that it was the one. The owners, Danielle and Bryan, are incredibly kind and work tirelessly to make sure every question is answered and every want or need is met. From the endless magical photo spots to the stunning landscape, the cozy barn, and the warm rustic charm, Barn 1888 truly has it all. We received so many compliments from guests saying it was one of the most beautiful weddings they had ever attended. We would highly, highly recommend this venue to anyone looking for the perfect place to say “I do.”

Danielle and Bryan were extremely kind and always responded quickly to my emails! The barn is gorgeous we wouldn’t have chose another! The flowers were in full bloom and they do anything to help your vision come to life!❤️

Amazing venue. As soon as I toured this place I knew it was where I had to have my wedding. The venue is so well maintained and manicured. The venue owners are helpful and supportive before and during for any wedding needs. I highly recommend Barn 1888!

This venue is excellent! We celebrated our daughter's wedding this past August, it was the wedding she dreamt of!! Brian & Danielle were top notch as hosts! The staff was absolutely amazing as well! If you need a place to have your wedding, please check it out, you will not be disappointed! A special thank you to Brian who helped to avert crisis when he ran back to the bridal suite for the bride's boutique just as she was getting ready to walk down the aisle!! I am so happy we went with Barn 1888, the grounds are absolutely stunning in early August there is no need to go elsewhere for photos. Thanks again for making my daughter's day perfect!

Absolutely stunning wedding venue! Top to bottom cleanliness, and so many nooks and crannies to hang out in/play yard games for your guests. Many 'little things' that end up being what pulls a reception together was provided on site and included in the pricing. Very professional staff, and they were all super kind! My son and daughter-in-law looked stunning in every single photo backdrop the photographer had them stand in front of I already have 2 other friends looking to book it next year just from me gushing about it so much! 😂

Danielle and Bryan have fun WONDERFUL!! They have answered any and all questions without hesitation and have been so kind when doing so! When asked to come to the venue to look again to get ideas it was no hassle and we found a time and day quickly that worked. Our wedding is August 17, 2025 and we are SO looking forward to it. We had our perfect wedding thanks to this amazing venue. As soon as we toured we had to book it. They pay attention to every detail to make sure everything is perfect. Inside and out it is a beautiful and well designed venue. Danielle and Brian were also amazing to work with. We could text them whenever and get an answer to our questions. They are experts at weddings and do a wonderful job making sure your day is perfect. The farm house on the property was a nice added bonus. It was perfect for our family and friends after the wedding who did not want to drive and made for a special after party. We were very lucky to have found this venue. After touring plenty of other venues we were blown away that they had everything and more for less than alot of the others. They were great to work with and we could not have had a more perfect wedding all thanks to Danielle and Brian. Highly recommend this perfect wedding venue.

We couldn't have asked for a better venue to host our wedding day. Everything from the service, to the owners, to the property itself was absolutely amazing! Danielle was super responsive with every question we had and was always ready to let us come and visit to check things out and get final details in place. She didn't hesitate to help us in any way that she could and we really appreciated all the hard work that her and her husband put in to make our day the best day ever! Couldn't recommend a better wedding venue if you're looking for a beautiful, picturesque outdoor wedding. Would recommend this venue to any and everybody in West Michigan!

We cannot give enough praise for this beautiful venue and the owners, Bryan and Danielle! I always knew a barn wedding was what I wanted. This was our first venue we toured, and as soon as we saw it, we knew it was the one. From start to finish, Bryan and Danielle were very efficient in communication and helped make our wedding planning/wedding day run smoothly! I couldn't have imagined a more perfect wedding day; it was everything we ever dreamed of! They even have an in-house variety of decor that you can use free of charge, which we all know, is HUGE when it comes to trying to save money during the wedding process. We also utilized the farmhouse on the property as a place to stay with our bridal party the night of the wedding which was very convenient and roomy! We are so thankful for everything and to have come across such a beautiful venue. Thank you Bryan and Danielle!!!

I gushed over their vision and attention to detail to anyone who would listen. The farmhouse available for rent next door is an added bonus as well. Attention West Michigan couples. GO CHECK OUT THIS VENUE. My husband and I got married here in September of 2024, and we still can't get over how perfect Barn 1888 and its team was. We both live out of state due to the military, and Barn 1888 graciously worked with us, responded promptly to many emails from us, and made the experience so positive and easy. The owners are phenomenal. Extremely communicative, forward leaning, organized, and just good people. We toured multiple venues all over Western Michigan when we were searching, and it was honestly our experience with Danielle and her husband that sealed the deal. The venue is stunning. The flower garden, trees, open fields, and detail put into the decor that already is on site makes it stunning. The owners also have a decoration room that is included with the venue, so there's another huge bonus to save you hundreds on buying a bunch of decorations. The venue requires bar services be coordinated through them. While they have three main packages, they are extremely flexible and will work with you for what you want. The day was seamless between the venue, bar services, and catering. Danielle knows her preferred vendors very well and they are very efficient and know the drill. It was just a fantastic day through and through. Our guests have continued to bring up to us how beautiful it was and how it was just a great day, and I definitely attribute that to Barn 1888's team, their planning skills, and their expert coordination and communication. Definitely check out this venue, it's worth it!

Danielle and Bryan were so accommodating! They made our experience so unique and memorable. Barn 1888 was the first venue we looked at and they made it one of the easiest decisions of our lives, not only because of how beautiful their venue is but also because they were always easy to reach when we had questions, they were organized, and they made sure the bride and groom were taken care of their special day making it completely hassle free. They have a fantastic array of flowers everywhere making this venue naturally beautiful and the chapel gardens make you saying 'I do" extremely memorable. They have a set up for rain or shine and they will truly make it the most amazing day of your life the way it did for us! Our families gave us so many compliments on our venue choice sharing "I cannot get over this venue" and "everything is so beautiful here." You cannot go wrong with this venue. Danielle and Bryan take great pride in the work they do for couples and they will do whatever it takes for the families to have a stress free day.

Barn 1888 is a wonderful venue with everything you will need for your special day - it'll go smooth no doubt. They have a great communication system and are available by email and in person whenever needed. They are so very well organized and are open to your wedding day vision. They keep everything on track so your day will be relaxed and enjoyable. The grounds are beautiful any time of the year!! Our family enjoyed a June wedding on a Friday night and it was the best day! Our guests had a wonderful time and were impressed with everything we did. They have partnerships with a variety of amazing vendors that will provide you with everything you need for the day - catering, florist, photographers, etc. Now, one of our friends are booked at Barn 1888 after seeing our wedding.

As the father of the bride I couldn't have been more happy with the venue that our daughter chose, Barn 1888. Danielle and Bryan always got right back with us for any questions we had. They were wonderful to work with. They offered a listing of vendors for food, DJ, photography amongst others that made it very easy for us. During the day of the wedding they were available and ready to assist. The area outdoors where the ceremony was held was absolutely gorgeous! The landscaping and the flowers surrounding the area were top notch. I would recommend them to anyone.

Danielle and Bryan were amazing!! They were so responsive and helpful with everything, and made our day run very smoothly. They went above and beyond. The venue itself is gorgeous, and we got so many compliments on it. It had a ton of photo ops and we are so excited to get our pictures back! We stayed at the farmhouse with our entire bridal party and it was reasonably, massive on the inside, and perfect for all our needs - especially so we didn't have to drive! We had an amazing experience and highly recommend this place and the family that runs it!

I just want to give a shout out to Brian and Danielle Howarth and Barn 1888! I have been part of a lot of weddings in the past, but by far these guys made my son and daughter in laws wedding day perfect! I can honestly say that I did not feel stressed at any point during the day and night, was shocked when I went to check the eating area out to find it mostly cleaned up, of course our master and mistress of ceremonies were a huge help as well. But I have nothing but good to say about these guys! Their grounds are absolutely perfect, the decor on the inside is amazing and the help that we got from those 2 made that day soooo smooth! Thanks soooooooo much!

We held our daughter's wedding ceremony and reception at Barn 1888. The venue itself was perfect for the vibe our daughter wanted - from the outdoor ceremony on the lawn, to the dinner in the main barn, to the dancing and bar area which naturally overflowed into the outdoor spaces over the course of the evening. It was perfect. And our family and friends all raved about the facility and the services - just perfect. Someone asked a week or so later if anything had gone wrong and the honest answer was no. We used one of the venues recommended caterers, Saladino's, and the massive charcuterie spread during cocktail hour and the barbecue dinner served buffet style was delicious - we received many compliments on the food. The bar service and table wine service was provided by the Barn1888 crew and they were attentive and ready to serve from the beginning. We also used other recommended vendors and were happy with the services provided. The Photo Booth from the DJ Moment's in Time Disc Jockey was a huge hit for young and old alike. Bryan and Danielle were there throughout the event and we're sure helped ensure our daughter had the perfect day. They were easy to work with and very responsive. They supported the walkthroughs, the beverage tasting, and the setup as expected and were flexible in their scheduling. We also used many of their available decorations and signs during the event which was also very helpful. Highly recommend the Barn 1888!

I can’t even begin to thank Barn 1888 enough for helping me make all my dreams come true at our wedding. First of all, the grounds are stunning! The barn itself has this homey family feel that was perfect for what we wanted. They manage to combine the country feel with elegance in all the details you’ll find in the property like the chandelier in the dining room, the furniture, and the beautiful flower gardens throughout. I am not one to gamble. Living in Michigan we never know what the weather will bring. It was a plus that the venue is heated so I never once worried about the weather. What made this venue stand out to us is that it’s family owned and operated. We didn’t get passed one from rep to rep. We worked with the same people throughout the process. They were knowledgeable, kind, and rapid to reply to questions through the planning process. They show that they care about and love their jobs through the careful upkeep of the barn, the cleanliness every time we were there, and by going above and beyond to help us during the planning when we had questions. I can’t recommend them enough. We had the best day here! Thank you guys.

I cannot say enough about this venue! We booked it a year ago and my daughter just got married in September and we do not have one regret! From the start Danielle was sweet and quick with communication and granting our every request. Barn 1888 is so beautiful inside and outside. The inside has so many nostalgic decorations you must look everywhere and take it all in. The upstairs is elegant! It is not your average barn. The bridal suite is so pretty and warm and welcoming. The outside is impeccably landscaped! Bryan was so helpful in changing anything we wanted and even had a golf cart to help with elderly relatives. The chapel had me in tears! The 4 bathrooms were fabulous for our 170 guests. The bar service was quick and professional and there was never a long line. My daughter had her dream wedding day at Barn 1888!!

The barn is impeccable and well taken care of. They also have many different decorations left from different weddings you are able to use which is very helpful! Barn 1888 is above and beyond the most beautiful location for any couples special day. The grounds are stunning with lots of locations for special moments, yard games, and photos. The Barn is well maintained and has two floors for dining and entertaining purposes. Beyond just being a venue, Bryan and Danielle are remarkable hosts. They were so helpful and supportive all day long from hanging flowers to setting up(and taking down) our very heavy carriage doors. Even more, they host weddings so often that their advice and wisdom helped us make this day perfect in so many ways. If you are looking for your venue...look no further, this is it!

The fact that they have extra decorations and that they are so helpful made planning so helpful! We used a lot of vendors off of their preferred list and that has helped so much!! The fact the Brian and Danielle keep up the barn is amazing! Danielle is a nurse and she’s absolutely amazing!! The fact that she could get up at 4 am and then be at the barn early in the next morning for a wedding is insane!! They really take such care of their barn! What made me choose the venue was how stunning the grounds are and that the owners are very helpful during everything! I will absolutely recommend this venue till the day I die!!

I have done hundreds of weddings over the years as a vendor myself and I knew from day one that this was the perfect place for us. This is by FAR the best Barn Venue in Michigan. The owners are what I would call “Type A” people. The landscaping is impeccable and everything is kept in tip-top shape. They will work to make your dream wedding a reality. They were super organized and had great communication throughout the entire year. Danielle was super quick to respond to all my emails (within 24 hours). They set up all the chairs and tables for the wedding and made an entire seating map for me to do the seating chart. With my husband being from a farming family and living only 15 minutes away, Barn 1888 was an easy choice. We love the idea of being able to drive by and show our future children where we got married ❤️

I truly can’t say enough amazing things about this venue, Brian, and Danielle! The barn is absolutely stunning and so well cared for! The natural outdoor landscaping paired with the warm and cozy indoor area created the most romantic space for our big day. Brian and Danielle were flexible, organized, and very easy to work with! Barn 1888 is a beautiful wedding venue and Danielle and Bryan have put their hearts and souls into creating a very special space for your once-in-a-lifetime event. As parents/family of the groom, we had the privilege of staying on the property in the farmhouse. This provided a peaceful, comfortable and extremely accommodating space for our jouful gathering. The beds were comfy, the water pressure good, the gathering spaces and kitchen generous and the claw foot tub a real treat. The barn is gorgeous and everything about it and the grounds made the wedding and reception feel magical. Excellent attention to details and prompt, conscientious communication. We highly recommend Barn 1888!

Our daughter was married 6/10/23 at Barn 1888. We had checked on several venues in Michigan and toured 12 of them. Barn 1888 is an absolutely beautiful manicured venue! Everyone asked how we found it. The owner’s Danielle and Bryan are exceptional, professional and knowledgeable host. All the clear and timely communication was greatly appreciated. The owners are so amazing and helpful with planning and on the wedding day. They are very dedicated to making the barn look so beautiful and what you want for your special day. Very easygoing with last minute changes and quick to respond. They have a lot of decorations at the venue, free to use and an awesome list of preferred (not required) vendors that I had the pleasure of utilizing. We just celebrated my daughter’s wedding at Barn 1888. It was truly a perfect day at the most beautiful venue. The entire experience was seamless. The owners, Danielle and Bryan, are FANTASTIC! They were great with communication, flexible, and so helpful! They are there from the beginning to end and go above and beyond to ensure the most magical day. The spacious grounds are flawless, the inside is elegant and every detail was perfect. We chose the most amazing location for our special day and cannot recommend Barn 1888 enough!

Danielle and Bryan went above and beyond to help our wedding day go so smoothly. They were present to answer questions and help in any way they could all morning and night. The venue is absolutely beautiful and so well taken care of. It is evident how much they love what they do. Their communication was excellent from the moment we booked until the wedding night ended. They are truly wonderful people and we had the best day! Thank you Bryan and Danielle!

I absolutely loved this venue! Everything was beautiful and went smoothly. They even let me bring my horse to ride down the isle on! Our dogs were there for the ceremony as well. It was a chilly day and they had really nice heaters on in the barn for us. The staff was friendly and attentive and did a great job of cleaning up as the night went on. We didn't have any issues the whole day. We had plenty of time to set up everything the morning of and they were there to help the entire time from open to close. Getting everything ready up to the wedding day was very well organized and planned as well. Danielle likes her spreadsheets which was very appreciated by me! We were asked to clean up decorations a little early and many guests thought that meant the reception was over and started to leave. That is my only "complaint" that really isn't a complaint because my husband and I were very ready for sleep and to be off our feet by that point!

I cannot recommend this venue enough! I fell in love with this venue from the pictures online, but in person, it was so much better! It is simply amazing. Brian and Danielle do an amazing job with how they run their venue. They are very organized and helped me prioritize what they needed from me without me even realizing it! They don't overwhelm you with information and were always prompt in answering my questions. They have put A TON of work into making the venue look amazing and even in October, the landscape was gorgeous. They did all of the set up and tear down of the venue and even helped with things the day of the wedding. They are full service owners and it made my life so much easier. I cannot tell you enough how amazing this venue and the owners are but you should definitely consider them as an option!

Picking this venue was the best decision we made during the wedding planning process! After meeting Danielle and Brian, we could just tell they were people who were well organized, communicative, and had put a lot of heart and soul into Barn 1888! What clearly separates this venue from the others, besides the venue being absolutely gorgeous, is the owners! They are the type of people you want to work with when planning a wedding! They communicated the entire time we’re planning the wedding and were super helpful with any questions! This is HUGE when planning a wedding! My wedding day was absolutely perfect!!! And they went the extra mile to make that happen! All my guest raved about the venue and how awesome it was! My friend told me she wanted to just lay in the grass because it was the nicest grass she has ever seen! The take such good care of the venue and it shows! If you’re picking a venue, you will be so happy if you get married at Barn 1888! Thank you so much Barn 1888 for making my dream wedding come true!

The host couple was terrific to work with! They were there the whole time on our wedding day. Even though it rained the day of our outdoor wedding, they were prepared and were able to get the wedding going once the rain stopped. The bridal suite was impressive, it had lots of space to get ready and a private bathroom. They have great landscaping and this space is so beautiful that we barely had to decorate besides the centerpieces on the tables! They let us use extra decorations that they had and responded quickly when we had questions. At the end of the wedding night, they even helped us pack up our decor so that my family could continue to have a good time. The layout of the place was also very nice. People could hang out inside, outside, upstairs, or downstairs, but no matter where they were, it still felt like we were all together. A lot of my guests told me they appreciated the layout and loved how unique it was! Overall, this was an amazing place for us to get married and I am so thankful that we chose Barn 1888!

I learned that weddings can be super stressful with all the little details that you usually don't think about. Brian and Danielle made it so it was not stressful. I could not have asked for a more beautiful venue with more amazing people. I have dreamed of getting married in a barn since I was 5 years old. Barn 1888 was more perfect then I have ever imagined. Danielle and Brian make the wedding planning process and the night of your wedding amazing and simple. Thank you so much for an amazing night that Josh and I will never forget! You guys went above and beyond!

Bryan and Danielle are absolutely amazing! They were beyond accommodating and wonderful to work with. We received so many compliments from guests on how beautiful and well kept the venue and grounds looked on our wedding day. This venue is top notch, I would give it higher then 5 stars if I could!

Danielle and her husband are the absolute sweetest humans who answered every question & provided the most support & thought to ensure our day went smoothly. Where do I begin? Brian and Danielle are absolutely amazing! They went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect… and it was! This was the very first venue we toured and we knew it was the one for us for MANY reasons. Firstly, the beauty of Barn 1888 truly speaks for itself. There were so many areas to explore and each spot was beautiful! Another main reason we chose this venue was because of Brian and Danielle. Instead of “If you want to borrow that, it’ll cost you” it was “Borrow anything you want, free of charge. We just want you to have the best day.” Instead of “If you want that help, you’ll need to hire that help” it was “What can we do to help make your day go as smoothly as possible? We are here to help.” You can tell they put their heart & souls into this venue & we are forever grateful to have a piece of our hearts connected to it. Say YES to Barn 1888 you will not regret it! 🤍
