She is an amazing artist who perfectly captured our vision even when we had a hard time clearly expressing what we wanted/my husband and I have different tastes and so would very helpfully like different options that were presented to us. Our final product was just fantastic, incorporating our pup (who couldn't be at the wedding) in a really special way, and a drawing of the barn at the venue that was so gorgeous that our planner had to keep a copy of it for herself. And our planner does the vast majority of the weddings at our venue. Ashley is truly a boss lady, incorporating fun, creativity, and beauty into everything she produces on a unique 100 year old press. If all of this wasn't fantastic enough, she was also by far the most affordable of the stationers we were considering. As we have told her, we are clients for life, and will turn to her for any and all of our future stationary needs (she will be making our holiday cards this year). It was so wonderful working with Ashley and her colleagues at Bay View Printing. We didn't necessarily have a vision for our invitations, but as soon as we arrived for our consultation we knew that we wanted Ashely to create our wedding suite....
She began by getting to know us generally and asking questions about our venue style. She then showed us a book of her past work and had us tell her what we liked and didn't like about different suites. After we were halfway through the book, Ashley was able to predict what we would and wouldn't like about a suite. We were so impressed with our invitations and day of goods when they came out, and Ashley and her colleagues made sure that we were taken care of through the whole process. Letterpress is a beautiful style for wedding invitations, and there is no one that could do it better than Ashley.

Ashley and the other folks at BVPC are beyond talented and the letterpress on our invitations and programs gave them a unique, gorgeous depth that you hardly ever see on stationary anymore. We received many compliments on the invitations, with at least two people commenting that they were the prettiest they had ever seen. The invitation design ended up being so creative and stunningly beautiful that we had her replicate all of it on our program covers as well as the welcome poster, and part of the design on our thank-you cards, with another design element on our reception place cards. We can’t wait to frame the reception welcome poster—it’s definitely something we’ll enjoy for years to come. We loved how she coordinated every one-of-a-kind detail, and appreciated how responsibly she moved us along our timeline. o some further research into her work, and loved what we saw. Ashley was extremely easy to work with, and so creative! We had really no idea what we wanted our invitation to look like, but she talked with us over Skype (since we were not local to Milwaukee), got a sense for our style, and created a very unique invitation that matched perfectly with other elements of the wedding. She sent us a first draft, which was already near perfect, and then went through several rounds of edits with us as our ideas and details about the day of changed. The final product was so fun and unique. Several of our guests commented on how awesome they thought the invites looked, with many saying it was the coolest wedding invitation they’ve ever seen!

I didn't want the night to completely focus around drinking and this was a GREAT activity to hang out with my friends for awhile instead of yelling at each other in a loud bar (we just did that later!).
All of my friends said they had a great time and we all got super cool prints to take home at the end of the night. I would totally do this again and might check out their open studio times. Ashley is the creative director, typesetter, designer and boss lady of Bay View Printing Co. She has spent the past 3 years transforming Bay View Printing Co, a 100 year old letterpress print shop, into a community space where folks with all levels of experience learn how to letterpress print and design. The shop houses 400+ different lead and wood typefaces, a community gallery space, a membership program and a range of educational and social workshops. As far as client work is concerned, Ashley loves love and helping couples create one-of-a-kind wedding invitation suites and decor.
