We are a small, family run business. You see it in the attention and service you receive, and in the care we put into our work. Our clients range from families to large corporations, for events from 50 to 300 people. We have served BBQ to 300+ guests at a corporate picnic, and fine cuisine at a small, elegant anniversary party. Be My Guest Catering was founded by Sandra Demilio in 2002. She studied at the NCCA Culinary Apprenticeship in hospitality management, hotel management, food services management and nutrition management, training in several top DC restaurants. Sandra worked as a sous chef at National Geographic, catering to large groups. She realized what she enjoyed most about food was the way it could transform the simplest of events into something special. BMG caters events of all types and sizes and Sandra's years of experience have made her an expert in guiding you to create the perfect event.

Choosing Be My Guest as our caterer was one of the first decisions we made for our wedding, and one of the best! They were organized and responsive, and helped us with everything from choosing apps/entrees to renting table linens and china. Sandy and her team are clearly very experienced, and their professionalism made us feel confident that our wedding was in good hands. Also, their food was delicious! Vegetarians, you can’t go wrong with the vegetable wellington. Thank you for everything!

Debra and her team did a truly amazing job at our wedding! The planning was so on point. Debra’s organizational skills were amazing and essential to making everything go so smoothly. The bartenders and servers at our wedding were so professional. And the food was second to none. I wouldn’t have changed a thing about it and will be sure to recommend them to anyone for their catering needs. I’m hoping I’ll get a chance to use Be My Guest again in the future!

The BMG team was absolutely amazing, from our first conversation to our wonderful wedding day. Debra, Sandy, everyone one on the team were so kind and responsive. Couldn’t be happier. The food was just as good at the reception as it was at our tasting. They provided rental chairs for the ceremony, all the linens and table settings for the reception. Everything was perfect! And their servers were wonderful too! Highly recommend!!

Very happy we chose to go with this Caterer they were very easy to work with. We had them do all the food, rentals, and bar. We didn't have to get a strict package the owner tailored it to our needs so we didn't pay for unnecessary items. Everyone loved the food at our wedding. The staff was very attentive and made sure the bride and groom had everything they could need and more.

Sandy was amazing to work with and her team delivered the best service during our wedding. Unfortunately, the weather was NOT in our favor leading up to the event due to a hurricane coming up the coast from the South. Sandy was able to work with us on last minute changes to have all activity inside our venue (we had planned on pictures outside before and after the ceremony). She even emailed on the morning of my wedding to say it was going to be beautiful no matter what and provided the best advice on if we should leave some of the tent open for views of the bay during our ceremony. Because of her advice, we took a risk and left one side of the tent open, which ended up being the best decision as the wind was coming from the other direction, and we were able to still have the view of the bay in the wind and the rain with little interruption in our ceremony (this will make for unforgettable pictures!). Her team was able to deal with a last minute change after the ceremony when we needed the deck for pictures. They were also able to accommodate all my guests with food sensitivities, allergies, and special diets, and the menu was amazing! I could go on, and if you couldn't tell, I highly recommend Be My Guest!

They were the first caterer we went to but their food was so delicious we knew they were for us. They were also very flexible when we moved the reception about 300 feet (which meant they had to do more walking). The catering staff was great and they came around multiple times to make sure if wanted appetizers, we got them, and we were always with water in our hands. Also, we were heading out to take sunset pictures right after we cut the cake and they asked us which pieces we wanted and made sure they were on our table when we got back.

Sandy and the whole team at Be My Guest (BMG) are outstanding. I cannot recommend them highly enough. The food was absolutely delicious from the pierogi bar during cocktail hour, crab cakes and filet mignon at dinner, and to-die-for chocolate and key lime tarts for dessert. Sandy even incorporated St. Louis favorites of toasted ravioli and gooey butter cake into our menu. The servers were so friendly and helpful throughout the evening, as (naturally) we had a few last minute guest changes that they helped resolve. Trying to plan a wedding reception from another state is difficult, and BMG helped bring it all together. BMG worked seamlessly with the Chesapeake Bay Foundation venue, Mills Liquor, Floral Expressions, and the rental company for an overall exceptional event. All my friends said it was one of the best parties they had ever attended!

Our wedding day was absolutely perfect, and Sandy and her team played a huge role in this. The food was delicious, especially the appetizers. Both Sandy and Paula were present on the day of the wedding and ensured that everything from set-up to clean-up ran smoothly. We were so appreciative of the helpful bartenders and waitstaff, too. Leading up to the wedding, communication was sometimes quite slow (it often took several days for the team to respond to emails, especially when we were figuring out how to postpone due to COVID), and small details often got lost in the shuffle (for example, we selected our table colors in person and then received an email asking us to select table colors a week later), but as we approached the final date, things got ironed out. Overall, the wonderful wedding day made up for anything we encountered along the way.

I received a proposal very quickly and was able to customize the menu to fit both our palettes and budget. Sandy and her team were very good with communications over the months and provided a timeline for meeting deadlines, which was helpful. For the day of the wedding, I hired one of their staff to be my "day of wedding planner" since we did not have a wedding party who could assist throughout the day. Paula handled all of the "day of" details so that I could enjoy everything and the reception went off without a hitch. BMG also helped me to get the tables all set up with the tablecloths, centerpieces and place settings. I would hire them all over again without hesitation.

BEYOND DISAPPOINTING AND UNTRUSTWORTHY
Our initial encounter with BMG Catering was amicable with positive communication. However, as we worked through the planning process, unforeseen circumstances caused questions to arise, and we were assured that everything would be fine. Several weeks later, and after Sandy (the owner made a promise), we received an email informing us that BMG’s policies had changed and the promises she had made regarding how much money we would be receiving back from them would now not be honored, and that we should be grateful to her since she was being "more generous" than other vendors would be, despite keeping almost $2000 that she had promised to return to us. BMG dismissed our concern that the policies were made after our agreement and applied backwards.

dding as your choice. Your venue did not shut you down and your guest count would fall well under 50% capacity. I created a policy for all our clients: All payments goes toward your rescheduled event, no penalty. If a client decides to cancel, we understand & support this. There is not a 100% refund of the monies. We have done work on our end and have not been refunded for the rentals we set up for your reception. You personally told me how wonderful Be My Guest was to work with up to this point where you and I had a disagreement over the refund amount. You failed to mention this. And the verbal abuse you used on the phone. In the planning of your reception the budget was extremely tight and I worked with you both without hesitation. I went above and beyond to accommodate every request of a sheet cake and no meat menu. I created a beautiful vegetarian menu that would satisfy religious restrictions as well. We conducted a tasting for your fiancée since you could not attend. We went back and forth multiple times and created a layout with your fiancé of the set up and walked through a timeline and how things would play out on reception day. I am sorry you do not feel like this deserves payment. I am very fair and will continue to help clients get through Covid-19 planning rescheduling or cancelling. We have a very fair policy and I have gone above and beyond to help all our clients figure out how to move forward during an unprecedented time in our world. ***Folks see all our reviews on Wedding Wire- this review just does not match what we are about!

Sandy and her team were beyond amazing! Sandy was such a great help coordinating rentals and answering any and all questions about our wedding. She even helped us to figure out numbers when we were buying our own alcohol. Apparently our signature drinks were quite the hit, and we ran low on vodka Sandy herself left and went to get more! The food was amazing! Definitely recommend for appetizers: crab cake, chicken and waffle, and steak bruschetta. Then we had flank steak and salmon for the entree, portions sizes were perfect and the potatoes were to die for! Overall great experience with Sandy and her team and I would definitely recommend them to someone else!

Sandy and her team at Be My Guest were completely wonderful in helping us for our wedding! We had a difficult menu- asking her to try a new dish with on-site frying- and she came through for us 100%. We also had a difficult weather situation on our day of and really took charge to make sure everything stayed on task. The food and drinks were all wonderful and we got compliments on everything. We appreciate all of the team's help and can definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a great caterer and partner for their wedding!

The Best Cater and Staff around.
I was very reluctant to go to a cater; I love to cook and entertain. However my daughter talked me in to using one for our annual Holiday Party (200 +-). I bit the bullet and hired Be My Guest Catering. That was 5 years ago. And I use them for every event I can. The food is suburb and so creative. The staff is excellent, professional and friendly. My guests talk about my events for months after them. Sandy and her staff take all the stress out of entertaining and I get to be Hostess without any worries.

There aren't words to express my gratitude toward this company. Every single person who works here is a gem and I would hire them a thousand times over. Communicating with Sandy the owner was so easy and she always responded quickly to any question I had. The tasting with them was also amazing they honestly put so much care into everything they do and I knew right away they were the ones we wanted. They really do go above and beyond for their brides from helping with linen rentals, helping set up, clean up everything! I wish I could give them more stars because they deserve more than just 5. Amy who is onsite the day of is the kindest person I have ever met was so accommodating and made sure my husband and I were always taken care of! Every single person at our wedding could not speak higher of the whole team and all the food! Our photographer even said they have had a lot of mini crab cakes and these were the best they had ever had! Any bride who wants a company that will make your day perfect should hire Be My Guest!

Sandy and her staff catered our wedding at our waterfront home. From the very first phone call where Sandy immediately came out to our home to the final cleanup, BMG was flexible, professional, accommodating, helpful and put us at ease every step of the way. The guests raved about the food, the amount served was perfect (some leftovers but not much) and her staff especially took care of us, the bride and groom. They did everything we asked for and Sandy was always available in the weeks and days leading up to the event. I would love to give Be My Guest a 5 star review, however, I can't!
Based solely on how the food tasted - they'd definitely have at least 4.5 stars from us! My husband and I are still hearing from our guests how much they loved the food - and we agree! It was on point! The only criticism I can give on the food is that the chicken was a little bit dry and not the amazing chicken we were looking forward to from what we had at the tasting!
BMG is staffed by some wonderful and talented people. However - there were a few other complaints we had about our experience with BMG that are worth mentioning:
Although BMG was wonderful at communication at the beginning of the planning process, as the planning continued it would be a week or so of non-response to emails from my husband and I before we would have to follow up to get a response!
Sandy and Amy offered several times to help facilitate the Rentals we would need for our reception. Amy accompanied us on a rental appointment and we all agreed on colors for our tables and tablecloths. Within a few days we received an email that they were "concerned" about the color we selected. We requested a few changes to our rental contract (table # adjustments, changing the type of butter dishes, etc) and assumed they were taken care of. A month after our rental appointment, BMG expressed displeasure with our tablecloth color choice (for the third time!). Although we didn't see the issue with our color choices, my husband and I took off another afternoon from work so we could have a second rental appointment. The process was very aggravating and we didn't see the reason we needed to change the color of the tablecloths because the person providing the food didn't like them! We selected another color, it suited our flowers a little better and we felt like we couldn't go with what we originally selected. However, when we got the new rental list, we found out that BMG had requested NONE of the revisions we mentioned a whole month earlier and they had added things to the list they wanted and never mentioned to me. When I asked why they didn't change the quantities I requested they said "we wanted to get the colors right first". What does how many 36" vs 48" tables we need have to do with our table cloth colors?! And we didn't see any issue with our colors, why is that holding up any other work?! My husband and I ended up working directly with the rental company to make sure we got everything that we needed in the right quantities.
The lack of organization in conversation, length it took for replies, and the rentals issues were the three main complaints we had with BMG.
There was one other small thing worth noting - we sent BMG a timeline of our reception 2 weeks out from the wedding and had a phone call to go over all the details. Yet, at the reception, we were approached and told that we would need to bump up the cake cutting because there wasn't enough time to cut and serve the cake before the send-off. It wasn't really a problem for our wedding because we were a little ahead of schedule anyway - but that was something we could've accounted for 2 weeks before hand and not during the reception - just in case there was a real time crunch.
But again, the food was super good and well worth rave reviews - there were just a few administrative issues that made the experience less than ideal and a little aggravating during the wedding planning season!!

Sandy and her team were amazing from the start to finish! Most importantly the food was yummy! They ensured everything turned out as planned and were able to flow with changes that needed to be made. Sandy was easy to get ahold of and always kept us informed on things we needed to complete prior to receiving them, menu decisions, table chart, etc. I would recommend Be My Guest for anyone wanting a non-traditional family style dinner, that turned out very good!

Sandy, Amy and everyone at BMG went above and beyond, and I am so ridiculously happy that we used them for our 160 person wedding at the Chesapeake Bay Foundation on 7/22/17. These people are honestly amazing. They were so responsive, so thorough, so patient...they took care of the rentals for us, worked with our budget, didn't balk at any of my requests or questions. They made the entire wedding planning process a million times easier for us. They are also just the kindest people and lots of fun to be around. And on top of that the food was AMAZING. Everyone complemented us on the food and the desserts they provided. I (the bride) ate a whole plate of food despite my tight dress because it really was that good! I 100% recommend them to anyone, this company is everything you want in a special events caterer. Thank you so much BMG!

We had a wonderful experience with Be My Guest Catering and highly recommend them for any event! Sandy is a kind, talented person. She went above and beyond the role of a caterer. She was a huge asset in my venue search. She helped us build a vision for decor and colors. When our date and venue changed, Sandy allowed us to roll our deposit to the new date.
The food was absolutely wonderful, and Sandy used creative solutions to help us stay in budget. We chose a buffet style for our event, but Sandy and her team served plated meals to the groom and I to make sure that we actually had an opportunity to eat.
My family was able to take all of the left over food home, which was awesome.
Sandy and her team did a beautiful job setting up, and a thorough clean-up at the end. We received our full security deposit back from the venue.
