Hello! We are THE experts at doing this… since 2009, we’ve created and performed more than 2,000 ceremonies and 1,800+ photo shoots. Also, David and Margo are licensed by both NC and SC governments, authorized by our church, and hold insurance coverage too. Margo is a published author and a former English professor in the U. S. and Japan. Also, David plays the flute professionally. Plus, Beachpeople Weddings is a long-time active member of 4 professional associations: The Knot, Wedding Wire, Professional Photographers Assn, and LEWA. We bring these happy energies to every ceremony, every photo shoot … “This is our fulltime occupation. So this is about a quality of Life for us. We had our dream wedding in June of 2024 on Sunset Beach and were beyond impressed by Dave and Margo from Beachpeople Weddings & Photography! From the initial contact months prior all the way until the end of the event, we found Margo and Dave to be professional, accommodating, and downright delightful! Their packages and pricing were transparent and easily understood. Communication throughout was timely and helpful. Our planning phone call (we live in Ohio and were coming to NC for the wedding) really put our minds at ease. They walked us through each step of the wedding and discussed all of the details I never would have thought of. The day of the ceremony was nerve wracking, of course, especially on the way to the wedding when it was storming so much that seeing to drive was an issue. However, we are convinced that Dave and Margo had Mother Nature on call, as it cleared up about 30 mins prior to the ceremony start time. The storm made the sand and sky beautiful and it really cooled down, allowing us to enjoy our wedding even more! Dave made beautiful sand art, performed the ceremony, and led us in filling a heart-shaped bottle with sand from where we were married. It was beautiful! Margo is an outstanding photographer and directed us easily and confidently through our pictures. Margo and Dave truly enjoy what they do and that is evident! They put us all at ease and made the wedding fantastic! The pictures turned out beautifully and Margo’s skill was evident!

David and Margo were absolutely amazing. We traveled and eloped and they were so helpful throughout the entire process. We had a phone call with them a week before and they went over everything with us. We just wanted something simple and easy. It was also very short notice but they made it work. They were professional and so nice about everything. We got the photography package along with it and the pictures turned out amazing. We loved how they made everything so unique and special. Between the seashell heart and the sand ceremony along with blowing the shell it made for a very memorable day. I highly recommend booking them. You will not regret it. Thanks to David and Margo our day was super special.

Margo was awesome to work with! She called a few weeks ahead of our family photo shoot to give information and tips/tricks for the best outfits, hair styles, etc. for our beach photos. She was super helpful and had great communication. Early on the day of our photo shoot, she texted about the weather and wind speeds and she was flexible enough to move the shoot to the following morning so that we would have the best possible photographs. We got the flashdrive in the timeframe that she said we would and the pictures look great! I would highly recommend Margo and her photo services, she was such a pleasure to work with!

I reached out to BeachPeople Weddings and was pleasantly surprised by how prompt the responses were! Their attention to detail and professionalism can be seen in their website, and all communication we had. After booking our vow renewal, we set up a phone consultation time. It was well-organized and thorough, and I felt very comfortable with them. They met us on the beach across from our rental at sunrise, and we had a beautiful renewal. Margo and David were nothing short of amazing. From the time I contacted them they were invested and treated me like I was the most important bride to be! Super easy to work with and very communicative with me. I contacted them 2 weeks before my elopement and they catered to my every wish. When wedding day arrived they were early to my beach house and all smiles and positive energy. I could not recommend a photographer enough!! Our photos came out amazing!!! Beachpeople Weddings exceeded our expectations on our day!! The pre-wedding calls were always lively. The materials David and Margo provided prior were super helpful. The day of the wedding it was very windy on the beach. We had SUCH A BLAST during the photographs…Margo can really put you at ease with a smile on your face. Very creative photos, lovely settings, great editing. The wedding album they compiled is FANTASTIC. David did a wonderful job playing the flute over the wind….and the sand ceremony was very moving. Wonderful experience!! From booking to receiving the photos they were best in class. Prior to the ceremony we met for a very thorough walk through of what the day will look like. So happy we found Margo and David on Facebook. I contacted them, asked questions and hired them to do our wedding at Oak Island in October 2020, yes during a pandemic and a hurricane hitting right where the wedding was to be a month before. This caused some last minute rushing around at no fault of theirs and they were so helpful and accommodating to try to ease the stress happening on my part. But it all ended up being a beautiful ceremony on the beach and gorgeous pictures. They helped make my dream come true of being married on the beach... thank you. Margo & David are AMAZING! They led us through every step of our wedding planning from start to finish. Then, when COVID-19 struck, they stepped right back in with Plan B. Our wedding wasn't what we'd originally planned but thanks to Margo & David, it was the beautiful, meaningful, and memorable event we'd hoped for. We were in awe of their many talents, ideas, and professionalism. They were incredibly thorough and there was never a question they couldn't answer...all the way through getting our marriage certificate AFTER the wedding. Margo was also our photographer and did a stunning job of capturing our special day. "Beachpeople" is also VERY reasonably priced and you can feel that they truly care. It wasn't about money. It was about making our dream wedding come true. I cannot recommend them highly enough!

What a day!! With the whole corona virus going around and cold and windy at the beach, spotty rain. Margo and David came thru to make our day very special. The maintained professionalism during everything and was understanding with getting people’s pictures who couldn’t stand much longer quickly . And also understood everyone freezing so worked quickly to get every photo set done of each family groupings etc. During the whole planning several months before all questions were answered and had a few great phone calls. Also responded promptly to any emails I sent. Despite all the issues with weather and stuff all our guests couldn’t say anything better about Margo and David. Everyone agreed it was a beautiful wedding and. Oils to of asked for anyone better to perform our ceremony. The sand that was put in the glass heart means so much to my husband. My best man actually had it for a few days and my husband was stressing about it and everyday for the boat few days has been constantly asking about it and make sure we get it ...which we got back in our possession this morning lol. Anyways sorry for the ramble, and thank you soooooo much Margo and David for our wonderful wedding!!!! Can’t wait to see all the pictures! 😁😁😁

From the moment we began working with David and Margo, we knew we choose the right people to officiate and handle the photography for our wedding. Everything was beyond our expectations and truly perfect. David's smile and calming voice made the ceremony sincere, peaceful and wonderful while Margo did her magic in the background and captured the day perfectly. Where to start, David and Margo have been nothing short of amazing throughout our experience with them. They are very down to earth and they truly got to know my husband and i which i think really added to the ceremony in general! Margo was amazing with giving advice and tips for the photography, and for providing recommendations on restaurants and vendors in the area! David was incredible during the ceremony, he truly was. At the beginning my husband and i were both a bit nervous but David totally eased our nerves and we were laughing throughout the ceremony. They had so many different options to choose from as well for wording, and helped us with Finding what fit for us :) We just saw a sneak peak of some of our photographs and we are so happy with them. Margo is an incredible photographer and the pictures we have seen so far are beautiful. I recommend them highly!

Margo and David are truly the kindest people I have met. They went above and beyond to make sure our wedding day was perfect. They arrived an hour early to prepare the beach for our ceremony ( a heart in the sand with shells) it looked amazing. They stayed on top of the weather for the day to assure we would not get caught in one of those random beach thunderstorms. They were so easy to communicate with and put me and my husband at ease. If you are looking for elegant yet not over the top with pricing they are your go to people. An officiant and photographer in one package!!(YESSS) I highly recommend them for your wedding needs.

Margo and David were on time, and very pleasant to deal throughout the process of our wedding. However, we had a same sex marriage and David needed to practice because he was adding parts in our wedding that we did not agree to and messed the main part up and said “Mr. and Mrs.” When we stressed to them how important this part was to us. We discussed during our phone conference that we did not want our guest to be engaged in the ceremony and we most definitely said no however, when we shared our experience Margo responded very offensive and rude not even genuinely caring about the fact all of our videos had Mr. and Mrs. In it for a same sex marriage. Her response really put a negative outlook on our wedding day and their company because she really showed her character which was very sarcastic. We understand people are not perfect and David did apologize right after but that only put more attention towards the mistake when he could have apologized privately— Margo responded to my feedback like I was trying to sabotage their company but I was only providing feedback so the same mistake won’t happen to no one else and in hopes they would prepare better next time. Margo also mentioned that I took it to social media for healing when that was not my intent. For the experience we had and the disrespectful response we received back we will not consider recommending them to anyone in the future.

Working with Beachpeople Weddings was fantastic! Margo & David made sure everything was perfect for our special day. The photos are phenomenal and the ceremony was exactly what we wanted. If you are looking to have a stress-free, hassle-free beach wedding, I highly recommend contacting them right away. I changed my venue location the week of the wedding after finding a much prettier location once I was on the island. Margo was so helpful with information surrounding required permits for the new location. Thankfully we found a part that required none! We also had some weather issues shortly before the ceremony was to take place. Again, Margo & David took care of getting our guests under cover until the rain passed all while keeping me calm while awaiting my debut. I cannot say enough good things about this wonderful couple and their services. It was a true blessing to have them handle everything on my big day. I was calm & relaxed all day long knowing they were in charge of things. Thanks so much Margo & David! John & I will cherish our wedding day forever thanks to you!

My wedding was back in January in Sunset Beach and I absolutely loved every moment of it and working with Margo and David! From our phone consultation to our post-wedding photos and local recommendations, they were amazing. It really is true, no matter what, things will go a little crazy on the big day. Margo & David were so flexible and awesome that you would've never known how crazy things got. Even though our ceremony was very small with just family, it felt so big and special for us. Everyone loved the little touches like the gift shells for our parents, the sand ceremony and stone toss that we did. Then Margo was so patient and wonderful with my sister-in-laws, giving them some expert tips on getting a perfect shot from their phone cameras while she was taking our post-wedding photos. There's so much more, but I'll leave it here so I don't write too much. Thank you, Margo & David!

I have met MANY photographer's in my lifetime, and Margo is completely hands down the VERY best and sweet photographer. She goes the extra mile to make sure your memories of your special day is the absolute best. I can not even imagine how long she spent putting her all into our photos. Along, with her husband, David, who was our minister, we HIGHLY recommend their services. I really enjoyed having them along on our Cape Fear Wedding Ceremony. They went WAY AND BEYOND for my husband and I. We just got the flash drive in the mail yesterday and we were reliving that day as we both just smiled as we viewed the beautiful photos. Dave and Margo were absolutely amazing! My husband and I were planning a destination wedding and I was terrified trying to find someone out of state that would do what we wanted. I contacted many vendors and something just felt off with all of them. I contacted Margo and she was quick to respond and quick to ease all my uncertainty. Throughout the entire process she helped me answer questions and gave suggestions to aid the planning process. Step by step they helped us choose vows and plan the entire ceremony. Upon arrival they were fun, energetic, easy going, and made the entire ceremony everything I had imagined and more. If you are planning a beach wedding, look no further! There are no words to describe the phenomenal job David and Margo did for our wedding. I always dreamt of having a beach wedding with the sound of the waves in the background and the sand in my toes. However, at first, it was difficult to find anyone to help make our dream wedding come true, without spending a fortune. UNTIL we came across David and Margo's website. We contacted David and Margo with several questions and the got back in touch quickly and answered all of our questions and even more! During the phone conference, David and Margo were able to set our minds at ease by going over every single detail with us and answering any of our questions. They offered us great advice and made sure we kept calm during the process. On the day of our wedding, everything turned out perfect. My husband and I got our dream wedding and loved every minute of it. The sand ceremony, the triton shell call, the beautiful flute music from David, the photography by Margo, and the warm smiles all around made the wedding perfect. The photos caught all of the precious moments from beginning to end and turned out BEAUTIFULLY! We highly recommend David and Margo! Thank you, again, for a "Dream Come True" wedding!!

I wish I could give Margo & David 10 STARS! They are amazing in every way. When my hubby and I decided to renew our vows I went on a search for the perfect ceremony! I had contacted a few companies not only were they to stuffy for my taste but their prices were outrageous! Then I emailed BeachWedding People and boom Margo was right there answering any questions I had and throwing back a few more to think about! I'm not quite sure how Margo does it but boy she IS conscientious. She is on the BEST!!!!! and a bit of a saint with all the back and forth I did :) My hubby was a little leery of renewing our vows but after Margo & David, he IS a fan. He said he had THE BEST time of his life! We loved everything the Sand Heart Art, the horn, the Flute serenade ( I highly recommend!)David rocks the flute! We cherish our heart with the sand we both helped getting in, the stone toss! They went above and beyond anything I could have imagined!!!! It was just PERFECT! We wouldn't have changed a thing!!!!! Margo & David are such down to earth fun, caring & loving people and it shows with everything they do! THANK YOU SO Much, Margo & David for giving hubby and I the time of our life! Planning a wedding from a distance caused me quite a bit of anxiety, but Margo and David squelched all of my anxiety about the process. Through our conference calls, each and every detail of our ceremony was discussed and planned, sometimes through lots of laughter. Their kindness and ease made the entire process of planning from a distance an absolute joy! Fast forward to the wedding day itself....Completely EXCEEDED my expectations!! Our fun, inclusive ceremony for both of our respective children and our families was a blast!! This ceremony was not simply joining a couple; we were blending and honoring both of our families. Hiring this photographer for my beach wedding photos was indeed the worst decision I’ve ever made. What started as a warm and friendly experience, turned into an absolute nightmare for our family. The session also included my husband, our 8-year-old daughter and my mom. Sometime after the photo session, the photographer informed me that preview photos were available on their facebook page. We were not happy with these pictures, and I politely asked her if she could take them down. The photos were unflattering and lower quality than expected (considering we purchased the enhancement package). She apologized and did so. Sometime later, I received the all of the photos on a flash drive which we were satisfied with about 20 out of the 100. The photographer emailed me and told me she took my rejection very personal, and it upset her a great deal because she worked hard and I hurt her feelings. In her email, she brought up her religious beliefs and even went as far to criticize my relationship with my 8-year-old, saying that she loved my daughter and told me to be careful how I reject her or say negative to her as time goes by. In my opinion, her response was unprofessional, tasteless and disrespectful. I have shared my experience on several review sites, and she has disputed or reported all of them. I’ve had to redo the majority of all the reviews. At this point, we are discussing legal options as we were not going to promote this business after such an awful experience and treatment. Please Be Aware.

My husband and I got married in May and we used David and Margo Sears for our wedding officiant and photographer. We were recommended to them by the establishment we booked for our wedding at Sunset Beach. It was blind faith, but we were beyond thrilled with the outcome! First of all, David and Margo aren’t just professionals, they are also very personable people. That meant a lot to my husband and I because our wedding consisted of he and I alone. We were worried it would feel awkward as our only 2 attendees would be strangers. Not at all! David and Margo are great at what they do and they’re the kind of people you instantly feel comfortable with. We had our wedding performed on the beach. It was a wonderful ceremony and Margo took stunning pictures! I even had a co-worker tell me she never stops and looks at wedding photos on social media because they’re always so dull, but she couldn’t stop looking at our album because the pictures were so uniquely beautiful! And she’s right. Margo knows how to capture a picture perfectly. David and Margo even came back to the Inn with us afterwards, took pictures of us cutting the cake and celebrated with us by indulging in a piece. It was really nice.
