Belle Mer: A Longwood Venue

We had our daughter's wedding at the Water Salon at Belle Mer on 10/21. Our wedding coordinator, Sara Leonard and her team, worked seamlessly (for almost 18 months) with our wedding planner, Sherri Klein, to produce the most incredible event we could have expected, even though the weather did not cooperate and we did not get to enjoy the outdoor ceremony we had been looking forward to for so long. (a game-time decision had to be made and it was pulled off flawlessly) The food, bars, service and staff were all wonderful and i cannot recommend them enough. Newport is a lovely place for a wedding weekend and this is definitely one of the premier venues.

We got married at the Island House at Belle Mer. From start to finish my hubby and I knew this was the perfect place to get married. Our coordinator, Leighton, was just so detail oriented and on top of everything from day one and we could not have done it without her. Newport has always been our home away from home and it was just the perfect weekend at Belle Mer. I'm so sad it's over.

100000000/10 could not recommend this place more. From the venue to the staff… best of the BEST our wedding was everything we ever could have dreamed of and more .. if you get lucky to work with Adrianna and Ruth you will be FOREVER grateful. TRUST ME, go for it … you will not regret it.

Belle Mer was absolutely perfect for our wedding. We had our wedding in the Water Salon. The venue is GORGEOUS and has amazing views! The pictures came out breathtaking! Thanks to our event coordinator Sara, the planning process and the day of the wedding was completely stress free. She made sure to keep us on track and made everything so easy! The bridal attendant Ruth was AMAZING too! She made sure that my husband and I had everything we needed throughout the night. On top of that she took care of our parents all night too! Our guests could not stop raving about the food, from appetizers to main course, to late night snacks. We would highly recommend Belle Mer to anyone for the wedding of their dreams!

Belle Mer is truly a stunning venue. We got married at Island House and felt like it was our own private estate. Not to mention the loft area was beautiful for everyone to hang out in. We had a fantastic process from start to finish with the Belle Mer team. My only two complaints were that they didn’t set up enough chairs for my ceremony which i am not sure how that happened and that we were under the impression the late night snacks would be more of a regular portioned food than a tiny app on a platter. If I realized that before I probably would’ve just done a station as most of my guests didn’t get any of the late night bites. The food was exquisite. Everyone raves about it! I also like that even though another wedding can be going on next to you in the other part of Belle Mer you’d never know it because of the fence. We toured what was formerly Gurneys down the street and found Belle Mer truly takes care of their grounds better than the others. I did utilize a few of their preferred vendors which was great. Again hiccups are always expected the wedding day but I was surprised by the size of the late night foods as we were told they were “handhelds a real burger size” and they were not as well as not having enough chairs arranged with an exact ceremony count and this not being noticed until after guest arrival.

My husband and I found belle mer a year before we were even engaged and absolutely knew it was where we would get married! The location is absolutely unmatched. From the gorgeous ballroom (the stairs were a huge selling point, made for amazing photos) to the stunning sunset (our guests are still talking about it!) it was just perfect. The staff was friendly and easy to communicate with. We hired Infinite Events for our wedding planning and they made communication a breeze. Special shout out to Ruthie, the bridal attendant, who was by my side during every important moment making sure I had everything I needed. She was a comforting, friendly person that every bride needs on their day. Additionally, Sara Leonard the event specialist was incredible. She was present through it all and communication was always timely. The food was amazing, our guests still rave about the late night snacks! It was a fun touch recommended by our planner, Ashlie. The ballroom was the perfect backdrop for any style as it is all white and just gorgeous. Stoneblossom did our florals, they knew the venue and exactly how to make my vision a reality. All in all I couldn’t have asked for a better team or venue!

This venue was absolutely perfect for our wedding. The food was incredible, the views stunning and service was impeccable. We contracted with Emily who was incredibly responsive and easy to work with and then worked with Ardriana to plan the day. She was SO helpful and honestly such a calming presence on our day. She absolutely was imperative to our day running so smoothly. If I could do it all over again I wouldn't change a thing.

I highly recommend Belle Mer as a wedding venue. It offers a truly dream-like setting for your special day, with an unbeatable atmosphere and breathtaking views. Our guests couldn't stop talking about our wedding for weeks, and the food was particularly outstanding. The level of professionalism and organization displayed by the staff at Belle Mer is unparalleled. Meghan, our coordinator, was exceptional. She effortlessly handled all our requests and last-minute changes without missing a single detail. Thanks to her, our wedding day was completely stress-free. I am incredibly grateful to her and the rest of the Belle Mer staff for making my wedding day everything I ever dreamed & more!

Our Belle Mer wedding was perfect. The venue is beautiful enough that you don't need a lot of the "extras". The location is perfect for a sunset and views of the bridge. The food was so good, we had a hard time not picking everything on the menu. We were in the Island House and felt it was the perfect size and really loved being able to use the loft above the venue to get ready. We worked with Emily and Ardriana and they were the absolute best.

We loved getting married at Belle Mer Island House! Our event coordinator was Meghan, and she was incredible. I feel like every email I sent her was a novel, and to each one she responded promptly, and super detailed. She explained everything so clearly, so we knew exactly what was going on all the time. Every time I changed my mind, she was on it! It was really reassuring to work with Belle Mer & Meghan because they know what they are doing, they do weddings ALL the time, and it was really wonderful to just show up & be totally taken care of, we trusted them completely. The whole day was perfectly coordinated and STUNNING! I 10/10 recommend having your wedding at Belle Mer Island House!

My husband and I are so happy we chose Belle Mer as our wedding venue. Everyone there is incredibly professional and knowledgeable and they made sure our wedding was executed exactly as we wanted with ease. Meghan was a delight to work with, and was a huge part of making our vision a reality. Our guests came up to us all night raving about the food, ambiance and staff. Belle Mer was absolutely wonderful! We had originally booked to host our wedding at Belle Mer in May 2020 and after several rounds of delay, we ended up having our wedding in Sept 2022. Belle Mer were a dream throughout the entire process, allowing us to move our wedding without penalty. They were so kind and understanding. We were planning the wedding from across the country so having a Belle Mer be able to take care of rentals of linens, flatware, furniture, etc made it everything so easy for us. All of our other vendors had worked at Belle Mer before so everything just went together so smoothly without much oversight from us. Our coordinator, Meghan, communicated with us throughout the entire process and was also prompt and thorough in responding to our emails. While Belle Mer is certainly a luxury venue, Meghan was always conscious of our budget when helping us plan. She met with us the day before the wedding to go through the whole ceremony with our bridal party. She was also present on the day of our wedding to keep things running smoothly (and even ready with bobby pins to keep my veil in place when I forgot). Our bridal attendant on the day was also so wonderful to work with. The food was excellent and the staff were complete professionals and we couldn’t have been happier with them. We had a beautiful sunny day, and the sunset over the water was so beautiful.

Booking my wedding at Belle Mer was one of the best choices I made during the entire wedding process. The view is stunning, the venue is pristine, the staff are lovely, and the food was amazing. Our guests are still talking about what a great time they had! I am especially grateful to Sara (our coordinator) who was absolutely phenomenal. She was so responsive and helpful. She really worked to preserve my vision for the day and made sure I was happy with how things were going. I can’t say enough good things about her and our day-of attendant who helped me navigate around the property in my huge dress in crazy winds. Overall, Belle Mer is hands-down one of the best venues around!

The Belle Mer is truly an incredible venue for a wedding! Our guests cannot stop talking about the amazing seaside views, delicious food, and attentive staff - everything was first class. We worked with Sara Leonard and she is simply incredible. Knowledgeable about all things weddings, she made the process fun and easy for my now husband and I. If you get the chance to work with Sara you are lucky! On the day of the wedding we were also paired with Ruth who was our bridal attendant, While there are a million things happen during the day Ruth was right by our side. She always made sure we had food and drinks in our hands and her calming presence made the day unforgettable. If you are looking to have your wedding in Newport look no further!

Belle Mer exceeded all of our expectations as a wedding venue. Our event coordinator, Meghan Dargy, was a huge reason for that! She was thoughtful, detail-oriented, responsive, and so kind throughout the entire planning process. Working with her made the whole process of planning the wedding feel like a breeze! Belle Mer is also an absolutely gorgeous venue, with stunning views, delicious food, and elegant decor. We couldn’t imagine having our wedding anywhere else!

Belle Mer made my bridal dreams come true. Sara and her team made the wedding planning experience so easy and not stressful. She was so willing to work with us and make sure our vision could come true. Ruthie was assigned to us on our wedding day as our bridal attendant and she was SO amazing. Our dream venue & Meghan was a fantastic coordinator. Everything was highly organized- no need for a wedding planner with the help of Belle Mer’s coordinators. Many of our friends and family said it was the best & most beautiful wedding they’d ever been to. Worth every penny!

Belle Mer was the dream wedding venue! The venue offers a beautiful interior venue and views that can't be topped! The entire staff is highly professional and provides top notch service. Meghan was our Event Specialist and she was wonderful to work with. She answered numerous questions, provided guidance, and made the wedding process much easier. Having Meghan as the Event Specialist helped reduce my stress on the wedding day, as I knew that she would handle everything and make the whole day run smoothly. Our guests loved the delicious food and all of the beauty that Belle Mer has to offer. I would highly recommend Belle Mer as a wedding venue! From the views to the staff, you will not be disappointed!

My husband and I got married on June 26th 2022, and couldn’t have been happier with the exceptional food, venue and most especially service from our event coordinator Allegra Micheletti. She went above and beyond to make sure our day was as special as ever and we didn’t miss a detail! We had the utmost confidence in letting her take the reigns to make sure our reception was exactly what we wanted. I also had the pleasure of getting to know her throughout the wedding planning process and it has been a delight to get to know her! She is such an incredible worker and is soo good at what she does! If you can request a wedding coordinator, you must ask for Allegra!

As an FYI to couples searching for a venue, this place is beautiful but is not “Moderately Priced” as advertised on The Knot. The minimum spend on the venue, food and alcohol for a Saturday night is $68,000 after taxes and fees.

My husband and I celebrated our wedding reception at Belle Mer’s Island House on July 10, 2022 and it was better than anything we could have dreamed of. Our wedding planning process was unique, as we planned a destination wedding during a global pandemic. Because we were picking our venue in early 2021, we could not travel to New England, and Emily Dibello was kind enough to offer us a virtual tour. Emily could not have been more helpful and flexible, making a virtual tour of the Island House work for our schedules. We loved what we saw, and trusted the staff of Longwood that we said yes to the venue without ever seeing it in person. We knew that the venue and staff could bring our modern wedding visions to life. About 8 months prior to the wedding, we began working with Allegra Micheletti. Allegra partnered beautifully with my planner and vendors to bring our Pinterest boards to life. She provided such great insight to Newport that helped us since we are from out of town. She went above and beyond providing local advice to make sure our big day flowed as we transitioned from our Church ceremony to Belle Mer. She knows the Island House so well, that every conversation about layout/ design/ flow was so intentional and this truly made our wedding day flow so well! Weeks leading up to the wedding Allegra had some last minute layout suggestions and suggestions of different pieces of décor we could add/swap out to enhance cocktail hour and dinner—and those enhancements truly elevated the day. She knows her venue extremely well- so trust her and her recommendations! I am thankful to have worked alongside her and to have felt like I was planning a wedding alongside a friend throughout the process!

My husband and I were married at the Water Salon at Belle Mer on June 3, 2022. The entire Longwood staff was incredible throughout our wedding process. Allegra Micheletti was our coordinator and to say she was amazing would be a complete understatement. Allegra is an absolute rockstar! She worked diligently with our planner to ensure everything was to our vision. Throughout our countless emails and phone calls she truly became a friend of ours. Samantha was my bridal attendant for the day. When it came time to bustle my dress, she jumped right in to help my bridesmaids. Samantha made sure we had everything we needed. Between Allegra, Samantha, Janet, and the entire event staff our day was as smooth and stress free as possible. The venue and the view are absolutely breathtaking. The food was outstanding; our guests kept raving about it. We cannot recommend Belle Mer enough!

We got married at the Belle Mer July 3rd 2022 and everything exceeded our expectations! Allegra Micheletti was THE BEST! She didn’t miss a beat or a detail. From the tasting to the wedding day, she was attentive to all of our wants and always made herself available. She even provided us with her cell phone number weeks leading up to the wedding, so we could text her if we had any questions. She worked flawlessly with all of our vendors, which also made everything a lot less stressful. Her energy was contagious and exactly what you want on your wedding day. The venue also provides the bride and groom with a bridal attendant, who was also amazing. Her and Allegra always made sure we were in the right place at the right time, had a drink in our hand, and appetizers set aside for us. The venue itself is gorgeous and we happened to have amazing weather which just added to the beauty of the venue. We even had a firework show, a beautiful sunset and the bridge was lit up red, white, and blue. My husband and I felt there was something at the wedding for everyone. People were either dancing, listening to the band, sitting by the fire pit, or just outside enjoying the beautiful view. The food was amazing, and every guest had something good to say about it. Specifically, guest favorites were the lamb lollipops, chilean seabass and the expresso bar (this was a hit!). It truly was the wedding of our dreams and we couldn’t thank Allegra and the Belle Mer team enough for making this day so special!

Breathtaking views on the water, the grassy area, great backgrounds for pictures with the bridge too. Very naturally beautiful, doesn't need much decor which is why I fell in love with it. We had an AMAZING SUNSET TOO!! Worth the price. Food & cake were included in the price, so that was nice we didn't need to go through other vendors. Great staff- day of coordinator Allegra, I couldn't have done this without her. Super accommodating and helpful throughout the process and that day too.

We got married at Belle Mer (Island House) on May 20, 2022. Belle Mer consistently exceeded our expectations. The views were as-advertised and the food was outstanding. The team worked closely with our vendors to integrate our florals and musicians to the space to create our ideal event - guests are still raving. But none of those were the most important factor in our overall experience - one that started over 2 years ago. Allegra Michelleti was our planner/coordinator and ultimately our friend (as my wife said as we drove off the day after the wedding). I have not experienced a better example of client service than Allegra provided. As we looked around the room before the wedding, Allegra blended in with family and friends, displaying genuine excitement, and happiness (and organizational skills)- this illustrates what we felt throughout our experience. For months leading up to the wedding, over countless phone calls, emails and video chats, we discussed details and overcame the challenges of planning a wedding through Covid. Our dialogue with Allegra was always honest, and thoughtful - It was constantly refreshing and reassuring as we worked toward our vision of our wedding day. I am not typically one to write reviews, but felt compelled to share our experience in this case. Planning a wedding is a long, challenging and sometimes imperfect process - all to hopefully ensure your perfect day. The Belle Mer team consistently delivered, and Allegra was invaluable every step of the way.

We got married at Belle Mer (water salon specifically) in April 2022. The team at Longwood made the whole planning, rehearsal, and day-of run smoother than I imagined possible. Planning a wedding is stressful and overwhelming, but our event coordinator Allegra kept us on track throughout. She is an absolute rockstar. She made us feel like we were the only couple she was working with during the year+ of planning. The day of the wedding we felt at ease knowing Allegra would be with us. She handled the flow of the day effortlessly and made sure we were always taken care of. She not only assisted us as the couple but numerous other family members throughout the day. We cannot say enough good things about her! We truly got lucky having her has our event coordinator! The views, food, and service the day of the wedding were absolutely top notch as well. Between Allegra, the wedding attendants (who were not overbearing but always present and ready to assist), the food, the views, etc. I cannot recommend this venue enough. They really do an incredible job making your day as stress free and enjoyable as possible

My husband and I recently got married at the Belle Mer and this place is absolutely breathtaking. The whole planning process was so fluid, from visiting the venue and having MILLIONS of questions to our wedding day, the staff at the Belle Mer went above and beyond to ensure our happiness. The day of coordinator and bridal attendant were on top of EVERYTHING, and I mean everything from the moment that the wedding party arrived to the time we departed. During the whole planning process we trusted our coordinator which really reduced our stress to make our wedding day even more enjoyable! The food. Wow, the food. I really wish the Belle Mer had a restaurant because the food is unreal. Our guests are still talking about how delicious the Sea Bass was! Seriously, get married here.

This. Place. Is. AMAZING. My husband and I just got married in early April at Belle Mer and we can not say enough amazing things about it. We were a COVID couple, supposed to be married in 2021 and postponed to 2022. The postponement process was absolutely seamless. The team worked with us quickly to provide new dates and updated contracts. We were then introduced to our wedding coordinator Allegra who was UNBELIEVABLE. Our wedding guest list was 250+, which can be very stressful to coordinate. From our first call with Allegra, we knew we were in amazing hands. She was supportive, honest and an absolute pleasure to work with. Meeting her at our tasting with both of our parents was like a night out with old friends. She made us feel so comfortable and ensured that everything would be taken care of, which it absolutely was. This venue obviously boasts incredible views but every other aspect is also five-star. The food was amazing - we even asked to add some custom options to the cocktail hour and menu and the chef and kitchen staff had no problem accommodating us. Between the staff, Allegra and our day of bridal attendant Samantha, the day of our wedding was absolutely perfect. I can not say enough amazing things about this venue and our experience. If you're considering Belle Mer, DO IT! And ask for Allegra because she's amazing :)

We had the wedding of our dreams at Belle Mer!! I'm still floating just thinking about it. The venue was absolutely stunning, even in the cold winter month of January! The sunset over the water is unbelievable and watching it through the wall of windows with the chandeliers and candle light...truly unforgettable. But most incredible at all was our event specialist Allegra Micheletti!! My now husband and I keep gushing over how unbelievably lucky we feel to have been paired with her. She was an absolute pleasure to work with, always so quick to respond to every little question I had along the way and providing the best recommendations throughout the planning process. She set the room perfectly even with all of the last minute changes and re-organizations we had as our guest count was declining just weeks before our wedding day due to the pandemic. I arrived the Friday before with bags of ornaments, candles and garland and Allegra found a place for absolutely everything! It felt as if she could see what I saw for our wedding decor and it could not have possibly been more perfect. She made our wedding night the most romantic, candle lit, and unforgettable evening I could have ever imagined!! Although Allegra has a special place in our hearts, truly the entire team at Belle Mer is what makes the venue the most amazing place to get married. From our first tour with Carly Donovan and all of the questions she answered throughout our beginning months of planning, to Ivana my day-of bridal assistant helping our photographers pose our guests, fixing my hair throughout the night, and bustling my dress in the middle of the dance floor!! And the chefs and wait staff are incredible as well, the food was so delicious, timely, served and plated with elegance. I wish I could relive my wedding day over and over again!! We wouldn't change a thing!!

We absolutely loved our wedding at Belle Mer! Early on, we decided that we wanted a wedding along the coast. We toured beautiful venues in Southern Maine, Boston and the Cape, but they could not compete with the Water Salon at Belle Mer. We worked with Sara Leonard and PEAK rentals to plan our incredible day. Sara often made herself available for questions despite her overwhelming client load in light of COVID wedding postponements. We were incredibly happy with her and with the offerings at Longwood venue - five stars all the way! We cannot recommend this venue enough.

Our daughter was married at Belle Mer on New Year's eve 2021. Needless to say, wedding planning in the face of the surging Omicron variant made things very stressful. Sara Leonard, our event coordinator, executed a flawless event and worked tirelessly to ensure a magical evening for all! The venue is beautiful; all the staff courteous and helpful, and the food--simply amazing. Every course, from the delicious and varied appetizers, to the entrees, to the beyond delicious wedding cake, were memorable. If I had to do it all over again, Belle Mer would be my venue of choice. We couldn’t have picked a more scenic and beautiful location for my daughter’s August wedding. The staff here ensured that our experience would be an amazing one! I really appreciate the wedding planning assistant, Ivana for anticipating our needs and always being at hand to answer our questions.

We are still in awe of the Longwood team. We got married at the Island House at Belle Mer after a confusing and stressful year of planning during COVID. Throughout it all, Meghan was the most patient, knowledgeable, and reassuring coordinator we could have asked for. For the actual wedding, there were 1000 details to manage, and Meghan, Ivana, and the rest of the day-of team executed them flawlessly. Ivana was by my side all evening making things stress-free and perfect. Our guests devoured their plates, texted us to talk about the dessert weeks later, took hundreds of beautiful sunset photos, and danced the night away. The best and easiest decision we made was choosing Belle Mer.

I ultimately did not go with the Belle Mer for my wedding because a spot opened up in 2022 at another venue and I simply couldn't pass up the offer. But I can't rave enough about the great work of Emily DiBello. She answered every question my fiancé and I had and I have no doubt in my mind that our wedding day at the Belle Mer would have been perfect had we decided to move forward. Emily was able to provide great recommendations for the Newport area, was transparent in pricing and availability, and truly went above and beyond in her service to us.

My husband and I got married at the Island House on 6/26/21 and it was an absolute dream. Everything about the day was perfect. Belle Mer really goes above and beyond for their couples. With COVID our wedding planning process was a little stressful but Belle Mer was helpful in easing our concerns. We worked with Sarah as our wedding coordinator who was very knowledgable, helpful and professional! She was always happy to hop on the phone with us when the guidelines for events were changing. The food at Belle Mer was delicious and our guest are still raving about it. You just can't beat mini lobster rolls and mini steak and cheeses! I have to give a special thanks to Ivana our bridal attendant. Ivan didn't leave my side throughout our wedding day. She made sure I had a drink in my hand, plenty of apps to eat, and had my lipstick ready for touchups!! She is the best!!! Thank you so much Belle Mer for making our day so perfect!!!

WOW we loved Belle Mer! My husband and I got married there 3 days ago and I couldn't wait to write a review! The experience was simply lovely from start to finish. The staff is kind and detail oriented, the food is incredibly delicious, and of course the view is stellar! We were so sad having to leave the venue after our reception ended. We were in the Island House and our guests could not stop raving about the service and location. Perfect place for a perfect day! Highly recommend! I would give 10 stars if I could! We worked with Sara as our event coordinator and she was amazing! Hoping someone we know will get married there so we can return to this beautiful venue!

Belle Mer was wonderful to work with - even through a difficult rescheduling from 2020 to 2021. When first touring venues, we wanted to make sure we would find a place with a good rain plan, good food, and a place that would take care of almost everything for us. Good thing we picked Belle Mer because it POURED on our wedding day but our guests hardly noticed because of how great the venue worked everything out, how good the drinks were and how good the food was!!! They even worked out a lot of last minute maneuvering to make sure my handicapped dad had everything he needed that day to truly enjoy himself. We had a fabulous time working with them and would pick the venue again in a second. And we even caught a quick break in the rain to get some classic waterfront pictures with the bridge!! You won't find a more perfect venue.

The best. Megan and the Belle Mer team were SO organized, patient, and accommodating for our big day despite CoVid. We created an entire new game plan the month before our wedding and everything was completely perfect. Highly recommend!

I booked with Belle Mer 43 days before our wedding day, when my husband and I decided to shift our originally planned MA wedding to R.I due to COVID restrictions, and boy- what an AMAZING decision it was. I was treated like a queen throughout the entire process of making decisions. My wedding contact, Megan (event specialist), was SO available which was so important to me as guidelines were CONSTANTLY changing due to COVID. I would email her on a Sunday morning and get a response by sunday afternoon- and it was a thorough response. She made this process so incredibly easy leading up to the day. She spoke with my vendors to take the updating of every vendor thing (as COVID changed our plans constantly) totally off my plate. A true professional. The day before our wedding at the rehearsal I met her for the first time and she was so on the ball I was floored. I dropped off so many decorations to be set up for our wedding and she was ready with a pen and notepad to take notes to set things up for me- again, another HUGE thing off of my plate. Additionally, the forecast for our wedding day was 100% rain, so she worked with me to create a back up plan on how to safely have a wedding with a rainy forecast. She created the floor plan of my dreams, including a tent to help make my guests feel more comfortable. On my wedding day, I showed up to the venue and my family and I were treated like absolute royalty. I met my day of coordinator, Ivanna. Ivanna basically became one of my bridesmaids. She was literally fetching my bridal party and I drinks, steaming the wrinkles in my dress, carrying my train, fixing my bouquet, cutting the bottom of my wedding dress that kept getting caught on my shoes 5 seconds before I walked down the aisle ... she was INCREDIBLE. After the ceremony, I honestly do not know what I would have done without her... she was fixing my hair, fixing my husbands boutonniere, fixing my dress, holding my bouquet while my photographer took photos of us. And all while she was doing this she was even getting us drinks! I'm telling you... YOU NEED IVANNA and MEGAN. At the end of the night, I was more sad to say bye to Megan and Ivanna than I was to say goodbye to some of my guests. They became my best friends in the matter of a day. They are so professional, attentive, and personable! They took so much off my plate that I was actually able to enjoy myself at my wedding which I know is a rarity. Belle Mer is a dream venue and I wouldn’t change a single thing! We got married on October 5th in the water salon. The cocktail hour was on the lawn. We had 225 guests. I was nervous that many guests would make a tight dance floor but there was plenty of room. It was 67 and sunny and the sun when down right as the cocktail hour was ending- It was stunning. Megan was unbelievable throughout the whole process I don’t have enough great things to say about her. She is so organized and has an insane memory for every little detail you request. Also the tasting was an amazing experience which is something I didn’t even think twice about beforehand but ended up being a really special memory with my husband and parents.

The Belle Mer Island House was absolutely stunning for our wedding this summer and we could not have been happier. Megan was a delight to work with - experienced, patient, responsive, and helpful! We were in good hands and everything went perfectly - not a single hiccup. It's a team you can trust. The food was delicious - our guests were delighted. And there aren't any words to describe how beautiful the setting is - the interior, the water view, the sunset, the green gardens. We had looked at so many venues over several months - Belle Mer was one of the last we looked at and it was worth the search! Thank you to Megan and team for making our day so special :)

I couldn’t say enough about Belle Mer. First off, the view and reception room with the chandeliers are breathtaking. We worked with Erin on the sales process and she was very forthcoming with the costs and the breakdown that made up the costs. She was helpful to make sure the contract was in a place that made my dad comfortable. For planning, we worked with Megan as our coordinator. She was amazing. At our tasting we worked through most of the details, timeline, and food selections. She was so helpful in getting last minute changes leading up to the day and coordinating with our vendors. I felt like I had nothing to worry about in terms of logistics and the reception. Due to the weather, we had to have our ceremony inside. At first, I was totally bummed, but Megan worked with our vendors and the staff to change over the room that was already set up for dinner. The ceremony was just as amazing as it would have been outside. My Bridesmaids are still talking about how they are impressed no one fell down the stairs. With all the crazy weather we had though out the day, the timeline was perfect, and everything went so smoothly. My family is still raving about the food and the level of service we received at the wedding. One of my favorite parts of the day, is the Belle Mer provides the Bride and Groom a Bridal Attendant that helped make sure we were in the right place at the right time, always had a drink, and had appetizers waiting for us before we went out for the reception. It was such a wonderful venue to get married at and I would recommend any of the Longwood venues to brides!

Once we saw Belle Mer, my husband and I knew it was the perfect venue for us. The views of Newport are breathtaking, and there is space for guests to roam both inside and outside by the fire pit. The wedding day itself could not have run more smoothly, and that was all thanks to our coordinator Stephanie. She guided us through the whole process, made recommendations, answered all of our questions, and accommodated all of our special requests. We honestly could not have asked for anything more for our wedding day. Everything from the weather to the food and service to the fine details was absolutely perfect. Our family and friends cannot stop talking about how wonderful everything was, and that it was the best wedding they have ever been to. All of this could not be done without Stephanie, and the Longwood staff; there are no words left to describe our gratitude and thanks.

Our wedding at Belle Mer on September 1st was absolutely amazing! From the beginning of our booking, the administration has been extremely helpful and patient with us. Stephanie, our event specialist, was absolutely amazing every step of the way. She was professional, responds quickly, and extremely helpful throughout the planning period and she helped to make the process as smooth as possible. I would recommend Belle Mer as a venue to anyone who wants to get married on the water - the view is truly unbeatable!

My Belle Mer wedding was everything I had ever dreamed of and more! Guests raved about the stunning views, the fantastic food, and the amazing service. Many guests said the Filet Mignon and Seared Salmon at our wedding was the best they have had! Megan was so easy to work with! She was always extremely responsive in emails and she made sure everything was organized for a perfect day. Ivanna made sure that I never needed to lift a finger on my wedding day! I always had a drink or food when I needed it and she made sure the night went flawlessly. My day was an absolute dream come true and I highly recommend Belle Mer and the team to every bride.

Belle Mer is truly a dream venue! My husband and I got married at Belle Mer's Island House on July 12th. We ended up with about 100 guests and the Island House was perfect for the wedding size! The guests could not stop raving about how beautiful the venue was and the fantastic views. Not only is the Island House gorgeous, but the staff is incredible and so easy to work with! Their attention to detail put a stressed out bride at easy. Stephanie was there for us every step of the way during the planning process. She would offer us advice and guidance whenever we asked. Stephanie took the time to really understand our vision and help it come to life. The day of the wedding I knew I could sit back and enjoy myself because I knew everything would be absolutely perfect! In addition to the staff, we got so many compliments on the food! Many guests told us it was the best wedding food they've ever had. Overall, this is a dream venue! The staff really cares about making your special day perfect and I cannot recommend Belle Mer enough.

We were married at the Island House on 07/19/19 and it was truly the most amazing experience from the day we booked the venue to the end of our wedding day. Megan, our venue manager, was kind, helpful, and communicative throughout the entire process. We had multiple family members and friends who told us that it was the best wedding they ever went to. They raved that the food was the best food they’ve ever had at a wedding and we agree as well, especially since a lot of wedding venues make mass produced and bland food. Not at Belle Mer! The view at Belle Mer and the service was top notch and I will recommend them to anyone who will listen!

I had my wedding at Belle Mer on June 23, 2019. This was the first choice I made in moving through the Wedding process and I am so happy that I did! It was simply above and beyond!! Stephanie, our wedding coordinator, could not have been more fantastic. She was always quick to respond to any questions, extremely helpful and accomodating, incredibly efficient and always made things as easy as possible for me and for my mom. She was kind, patient and just overall did a phenomenal job assisting us in making this the most special, amazing day we have ever experienced. The day of, Chelsea, our day of attendant, and Stephanie were on top of everything. We had hors d'oeuvres brought over to the bridal party through photo shoots, there was always a drink in mine and Albert's hand, every moment was well coordinated and perfectly executed. The staff was fantastic. Our bartenders, Josh and Danielle were awesome and so accomodating!! The food was delicious. I think at one point I ate 4 tuna tartare bites one after another in the middle of photos (Can't wait to see how those came out 😂) We cannot speak more highly of everyone at Belle Mer or of the beauty of the venue itself and the location. Every aspect of the team to the location to the blessing of a beautiful sunny day after almost a full week of rain (and hail the day before) made our day one we will never, ever forget. We cannot thank you all enough (especially Stephanie for all of her hard work for months on end!), but we can try :) So thank you from the very bottom of our hearts! I've always thought it was corny and inaccurate to say that one day is the best of your life, but I can say very positively that Sunday was the best day of our lives. I will strive to have the rest of my days meet the feeling that we felt that day. Maybe one day we will, but I don't think anything could ever be better.

We just returned from our wedding at the Island house at Belle Mer. It was everything we could ask for and more. When we first visited the venue we were instantly drawn to the beautiful water views , sailboats and of course the potential for an amazing sunset. The day of our wedding we had to hold our ceremony indoors due to rain- HOWEVER - it was just as gorgeous. Glass doors run across the whole back wall of the venue and the sun shone through just as we started saying our vows and throughout our first dance . We also were able to take advantage of the outdoor space for cocktail hour and a a few clouds made for an amazing sunset. Our guests can not stop talking about the food - it was delicious. Stephanie was amazing to work with and the staff that day made everything really easy and seamless. Thank You Belle -Mer for a wonderfully beautiful wedding day!

I wish I could do it all over again - I would change nothing. As my husband and I were standing there being pronounced as husband and wife, I thought about how lucky I was not just to be marrying the love of my life, but that I was able to do it in such a gorgeous place... knowing everything was taken care of.... and that all I had to do was sit back and take it all in. Stephanie Kennedy was our planner and she went above and beyond for our big day. We cannot even begin to imagine a day better than the one we had. From the staff, to the food (which EVERYONE raved about), to the tiny details.... it was amazing. Highly recommend this venue... they truly thought of everything and kept it all so organized so we could focus on our big day and enjoy it. I hope to get invited to another wedding at Belle Mer so I can enjoy it all again.

If you intend on getting married in Newport, RI, Belle Mer is the place. The venue is beautiful. On the water overlooking the Newport bridge. My daughter in law is a wedding planner in Wilmington, NC and manage to work with the staff at Belle Mer remotely with no issues at all. From her perspective, the venue's standard package was extensive and good quality - i.e. nice chairs, tables, silverware, table clothes, etc. It was a wide open room with floor to ceiling doors that could be opened to bring the outside in. There was very little she had to upgrade. The room that is made available an hour before and throughout the night was fantastic. It is a huge space where the bride and bridesmaids can get ready. The room is on the second floor and overlooks the grounds where the outdoor ceremony is held. In our case, the entire wedding party met, took some pictures, relaxed before the event started. We then returned to the space, had a drink and hor d'ouevres before joining the cocktail hour. A person is assigned to the bride for the entire time so anything she needed was taken care of. The food was fantastic! Every guest that we spoke to raved about the quality of the food. All of our guests thoroughly enjoyed the event. One friend told us that he has a very close friend that lives in Newport. When our friend shared where the wedding was being held, the local (Newport) friend said Belle Mer was the best wedding location in Newport. As the father of the bride, I never saw my daughter more happy in her life. Never thought we could afford a wedding in Newport but timing is everything. End of April and early May is a shoulder season so it was no more expensive than places we looked at in Old Saybrook and Westbrook CT. Highly recommend Belle Mer!

Beautiful wedding venue. If I don't say so myself, this was and is still one of the most beautiful venues I've ever visited for a wedding, nevermind that it was my own ;) Guests were gushing over the beauty of the venue, even though it was very foggy towards the end of the evening. Still a beautiful place. We got married on a Thurs in June 2018 due to cost differences and some perks for booking with them. The food was amazing, both per us and our guests. They really do live up to the reputation they have for amazing food. Stephanie was our coordinator and she was the best. She was super responsive, even when she wasn't in the office, and made sure everything got set up and returned. We had a lot of DIY and personal items as part of the décor. I liked that we didn't have to go with them for the wedding cake if we didn't want to, although we did because again, cost and they have great quality. They don't hold you to using any specific vendors or lodging places etc. either. The only thing I was wish was different was being able to bring our own food and drinks into the loft while getting dressed, and not being able to buy and bring in our own candy bar supplies or s'mores supplies. You can do that there, but they want you to buy theirs. Every person involved in our special day made everything absolutely seamless and we were attended to hand and foot. We never felt confused or thrown to the wolves. Flawless, beautiful day, and Longwood played a huge part in it. Thank you!!

Belle Mer exceeded all of our expectations. The staff was phenomenal and made all of our dreams come true! Our wedding coordinator was professional and dependable. The venue is absolutely beautiful and we couldn't have asked for more!

Belle Mer was truly a dream wedding venue and we could not have asked for anything more. Our wedding on September 22, 2018 was in the Water Salon with our ceremony outside by the water. The view of the water and the bridge is unparalleled whether outside by the fire pits or inside with the floor to ceiling glass. All of the food from the hors d'oeuvres to the salad, entree, desserts, late night snacks and wedding cake was so delicious and all of our guests could not stop talking about how great the food was. We worked on the planning of the big day with Megan, Event Specialist and Sarah, Director of Events. Both were extremely attentive, professional and helpful throughout the entire process. They were quick to respond to questions and worked with us when faced with unexpected last minute issues. They truly helped us achieve all of our visions to make the day so amazing. From start to finish the day was seamless and we felt that although a lot of money it was well worth it. Belle Mer's service is one of a kind and everyone at Belle Mer contributed to making our wedding day one we will cherish forever. We would definitely recommend Belle Mer.
