It is no exaggeration that I am still getting text messages and phone calls 4 days after the wedding from both family and friends begging to see the final product. How do I even start to describe the experience with Ben? Choosing to have Wed On Canvas at our wedding was the single most unique and talked about experiences from our big day (besides our nuptials, of course!) But in all seriousness, Ben is an unbelievably talented artist and also just an absolute gem of a human to work with. He stays out of the way at the wedding but still is able to capture that perfect moment with exquisite detail. Not only that, he also engaged with our guests who were just enamored at the details he was capturing and huddled around him just watching him work. Where do I even start? Choosing Wed on Canvas was one of the best decisions that we made when planning our wedding. First of all, Jen and Ben are the dream team. From the first time I met Jen, she was so warm and enthusiastic. I changed the location of my photo several times, and she walked me through all of my options and was so patient. On the day of, Ben was fantastic. You truly cannot overemphasize how much guests enjoy the live painting experience. Ben not only painted our day perfectly, he was engaging and spoke with guests as they asked him questions. Two months later, people in our lives are still commenting on how amazing our live painting was. The finished product is STUNNING. My husband and I were perfectly depicted, down to his dimple. Even looking at the wedding party in the background, the head shapes, etc. look just like them. The colors are beautiful and bright. I feel so many emotions every time that I look at the painting. We even ordered thank you cards with the painting on them, which we are excited to send to our guests. I would absolutely recommend Wed on Canvas. Our daughter was married in June, 2015 in Raleigh, North Carolina and she is an artist. To personalize their wedding day, we wanted to have an artist painting at some point during the wedding day. A random "google search" led us to Ben Keys....and what a gem of a find turned out to be! From the initial phone conversation with Jen, to seeing Ben at work painting pre ceremony thru reception, to the delivery of THE painting....the whole experience was exceptional! Our daughter chose for Ben to capture the newly married couple exiting the historic Chapel where they were married. It is simply stunning. Dear Brides, If I have anything to offer you, my pearl of wisdom would be to invest in Ben Keys live wedding painting. I was surprised by my aunt and grandmother to have Ben come to our wedding and paint our first dance LIVE. I was so shocked that they kept that big of a secret from me since I planned most of my wedding and that they chose Ben, who is a Charleston based painter, whom I read lots about during the planning process. From what my aunt has told me, him and his wife are super easy to work with and were able to coordinate with my wedding planner to make it an ultimate surprise. Our guests loved watching him paint during the ceremony and reception and enjoyed talking with him as well. The best part is that he is INCREDIBLE. His work is breath taking and well worth the investment. We got our finished product this past weekend and I cannot take my eyes off the detail. I truly feel like I am captivated by it and feel as if we are able to relive the best night of our lives just by looking at it in our living room. Having Ben at our wedding reception to do a live event painting was the highlight of the night! The painting was a gift from my mom to my husband and I - and it stole the show at the reception! I was looking for a unique wedding gift for my daughter, Lauren and her husband, Chuck. In one of the bridal magazines I noticed they had an artist painting at the reception. I did some research and decided on Wed on Canvas by Ben Keys. It was by far my Chuck and Lauren's favorite gift! I wanted it to be a surprise on their wedding day, and working with Ben and Jennifer was a pleasure. I decided a painting of their first dance would be perfect, as they had been working hard on their dancing skills. Just as the wedding party and parents were waiting to be announced, Lauren noticed Ben painting in the corner of the venue and asked who he was. I told her he was there to paint their first dance. I wanted to provide a unique gift that the Bride and Groom would long remember. After deciding that a painting of their first dance was the right gift I discovered that there were no local (St. Louis area) artists who provided this service and thought I would have to give up on this idea. I really liked Ben Keyes style as shown on his web site so I contacted them to see if they would travel. Not only were they happy to come to St. Louis but the extra charge for travel was very reasonable. Throughout the reception the guests would come up to Ben to see what he was doing and to ask questions - He was always polite and really seemed to enjoy the interaction.
