Bennett's Baskets 'n Bows

We worked with Bennett’s Baskets & Bows as our florist for our intimate wedding at Castle McCulloch on November 16, 2021. They were assigned because they were included in the intimate wedding package. Overall, we had a positive experience, we only had 1 issue (which we were reimbursed for in a timely manner). The bouquet (and toss bouquet) and boutonniere was included in the price of the package, so we only needed to pay for the other necessary bouquets, boutonnieres, centerpieces, and outside door flowers. Overall, all the flowers we received were very beautiful. Our ONLY negative part of our experience was that she just dropped off all the flowers right when the venue opened and did NOT confirm everything was right before leaving. And unfortunately, she did not give us the boutonniere for the Bridesman (my brother). She was not able to bring another one in time for the ceremony, but she quickly reimbursed us that night via Venmo.

I had very specific visions for how I wanted our venue to look for our wedding, and Ms. Gail did an amazing job of bringing it to life. All of her suggestions were excellent, and she helped us make small tweaks here and there to stay within our budget. Castle McCulloch is already beautiful, but the decorations from Bennett's Baskets 'n Bows made it even better!

Gail did an amazing job on my wedding! She was very flexible when my wedding vision had to change due to postponing because of covid. Everything looked amazing and she was very accommodating. Her services are well worth the money.

Gail was such a pleasure to work with. She can truly read minds when it comes to helping you envision the decorations for your event. Gail supported us by even going out of her way to supply us with natural deer antlers to match our themed wedding decor. She rolled with the punches over the course of a full year of event date changes (due to COVID), and truly brought the whole look of our wedding together - just like we envisioned it! I had a great experience with Gail and her team! They were so accommodating to me. I live outside of NC and really needed to do much of the communication and planning via email or over the phone and they allowed me to do that. I didn't have to make the long trek and my vision was achieved and my flowers looked even more beautiful than I imagined. Delivery was prompt and perfect on the day of our wedding as well. The flowers were delivered, left in vases, and set our for us without my even knowing it was all happening! I was very very pleased.

Mrs. Gail is extremely nice. Very pleasant and extremely easy to work with. Her and her daughter work together for Castle In Jamestown. Her daughter is the coordinator. My daughter wedding went well. The bridemaid bouquet was perfect. My daughters wasn't quite what she ask for however it worked fine. The guys was fine. The table decor ... all I can say is they must ran out of greenery because it wasnt what was ask. The decor on the cake worked out. The flowers girls didn't work out as we thought it would but it turned out ok... If you want exactly what you pay for you may want to consider something else. However if you want an extremely pleasant sweet lady to work with and she will get you close to what you may want then this is the place. I wasn't aware of the table settings until We seen all tables. Once again IF you want EXACTLY what you ask for , Keep searching. However Mrs. Gail will work it and Your wedding will be beautiful and no one will know the difference but you and her. On a scale 1-10 , I will give 7. My daughter didn't complain to me much. So we where ok.

Gail was so wonderful to work with! We called pretty last minute (I think a month prior to the wedding) to ask if they could drape our reception pavilion and ceremony arbor and add flowers to the arbor. I sent photos of what I wanted and Gail made it even more beautiful than I could have imagined!

The flowers were beautiful. The colors were on point. I was very impressed with the flowers selected to go with my color theme. They also made me a beautiful arch.

Gail did such a great job with my wedding flowers. When I met her for our initial talk-through, all she needed was a few pictures of what I liked and then she took it from there! She captured my style perfectly, the flowers all looked fresh, well-balanced, and were better than I could’ve imagined. Thank you Gail!

Bennett’s Baskets and Bows did such an amazing job on our flowers and centerpieces! Not only was Gail very easy to work with, our flowers turned out beautifully! Working with her felt like working with a family member - she was so patient and kind. I would recommend this florist to any couple planning a wedding.

My 2 meetings with Gail before the wedding went great. I felt like she understood what I wanted, she wrote tons of notes, and I sent her pictures for examples of everything we discussed. I wasn’t worried about the flowers. Then the wedding day came and first, they were 3 HOURS LATE for delivery. There were multiple things (5 to be exact) that I had specifically said I wanted/didn’t want and she simply did not follow the directions. I didn’t want bows on the bouquets, she put bows. I didn’t want fairy lights in the ceremony mason jars, she put them in the jars. The arbor flowers looked literally nothing like the picture I gave her. The bridesmaids bouquets were awful - just all white flowers with one random red rose in the middle. The MOH was supposed to have “pops of teal” to make hers look different than the bridesmaids and all she did was add a second awkward red rose. I will say though, my bride bouquet was beautiful and I am happy for that. I disliked the bridesmaids bouquets so much though that I kept asking if we could take pictures without the bouquets. I’m a fairly easy person to please and I was happy with ALL of my vendors except this one. If I were to do it again, I wouldn’t pick this florist.

Bennett’s Baskets ‘n Bows is good. I liked that she was willing to travel and meet us to talk about our wedding flowers and bouquets; however, I wasn’t 100% pleased with the flowers. I didn’t even take my bouquet to my bridal shots due to the fact the flowers just looked fake and thrown together at the last minute. Needless to say I was terrified of what my wedding day flowers would look like. Unfortunately the pictures I gave her and the bouquet I was handed looked nothing alike and I had flowers falling out with me just picking it up. My cake was also suppose to have flowers from them and I’m not sure if they brought them over later or if my mom went and purchased some. Overall an okay experience.

While Gail and the staff at her shop were nice to us, the flower arrangement were extremely disappointing to say the least! My mom and I had several meeting with Gail where we felt like she truly understood my vision, however my vision was never executed! For my bridal portraits the bouquet was nothing at all what I wanted, in fact I had to go to Harris Teeter of all places to get a bouquet made that I could use for my pictures (and it was so beautiful)! On the day of my wedding, when my flowers were delivered to me my mom and I were rudely yelled at by the man delivering our flowers. It was extremely unprofessional and not the service you expect from a vendor who has a 5-star rating on the Knot! Then my bouquet as well as my bridesmaids bouquets were droopy and wilting. I was very upset and almost embarrassed to carry myself and have my girls carry bouquets that were so wilty. I have a server all pictures that document the conditions of the flowers which did not look like they were done professionally. In short, to say I was disappointed would be an understatement. Flowers were one of the things I really wanted to highlight and I was really unable to because of the condition they were in. I hate to give a one star rating, but honestly we had several meeting, and a contract and I don't feel that it was properly executed and to top it all off getting yelled at on my wedding day, hours before I walked down the aisle by the guy who delivered them was incredibly unprofessional and just rude.

We chose to use Bennett's Baskets and Bows for our flowers and for our wedding director. Gail Bennett, the florist, did an excellent job putting my crazy ideas into practice. I knew what colors and themes I wanted but had no clue what flowers to use to get me there. She took my ideas and brought them to life; everything was gorgeous!! Not only were the flowers beautiful, but they were incredibly fresh. It's now 4 days after the wedding and my bouquet is still beautiful and putting off an amazing scent. We used Gail's daughter, Kandace Whicker, as our wedding director and I am SO GLAD we did. She took control of the whole event and truly made it possible for my husband and I to enjoy ourselves. Not only that, but I didn't feel well for the first part of the party and Kandace sprang into motion getting me my glasses, the meds that I needed, and even guarding the bathroom so no one went in while I was taking a breather. Our wedding could not have been more perfect and it was because of Kandace's organization, energy, and love for making this day special for her clients.

Gail is the best wedding florist in the business. The flowers at my daughter's (Jessica) wedding were just as we ask for and so beautiful and more. Kandace is the best wedding director, she was everywhere taking care of any little thing we wanted done. Outstanding group of people. Thanks for making everything beautiful. We will never forget it. Okay brides and wedding planner's look no further! First off Mrs. Gail is a hugger, I knew we would get along just fine. We had a consultation, and she is very professional. To say our wedding was beautiful would be an understatement. The floral designs, for both our reception and front lawn wedding was breathtaking. She is a modern day florist that will work with your budget and allow most all forms of payment. It turned out great, and even better than expected. We also booked Kandace for our directing services and wedding coordination. She worked flawlessly with our other vendors, directed our wedding, and ultimately I was very pleased with her carrying out my vision. I had mostly all of the items as DIY (Do it yourself) and she came to set up and tie up my loose ends. She is knowledgeable and known in the local wedding vendor community, which is a huge help! I never had a chance to go in and meet or talk with Gail but my Mother in law did and took some pictures of flowers I liked online. When I got to the wedding I was amazed at how beautiful all of the flowers were. My bouquet was so much prettier than I could have ever imagined. She went above and beyond my expectations. We were very pleased with the quality and everything! I would highly recommend to anyone!

Gail was the sweetest, kindest lady and she was a pleasure to work with. I don't know much about flowers so I had a very abstract idea for my wedding. Gail took everything I said along with all the pictures I showed her and made it more beautiful than I could ever imagine. Her ideas gleamed with such grace and creativity, definitely more than I was expecting and more than I could dream up. My wedding was absolutely gorgeous and the most perfect day of my life thanks to Gail and her team!

Gail was great to work with as she is a sweetheart. I felt like I was talking to family every time I called her to discuss my flowers. No one is perfect as there were some details that we had discussed that weren't present but honestly it was nothing that ruined or put even one bit of annoyance on the day of. As the items I asked her to remove and she did it no questions asked. Her most stunning work was decorating an arch at the venue and my bouquet. Still looking seeing her work in my photos! Bottom line the work I received on the day of was stunning. I still have people talking about my flowers. She has a very fun vision to match her great homely personality.

My husband and I got married in December. My mother and I had met with Gail several months before where we went over what I wanted and the overall price. I made a deposit that day and she later emailed me a contract which was exactly what we had agreed on. Everything seemed great that day, but not so much after that. I had my own mason jars for centerpieces, and all she had to do was make arrangements to place in the jars, which was clearly stated in the contract. Come the day of, she brought flower arrangements made in metal pots with snowflakes on them. No where did we ever discuss this nor did it match any of my decorations. She dropped them off and left. When I was informed, my mother called her to correct her mistake in which she was very rude and came back to just shove cheaper flowers into my jars and took the other ones with her. She then said she would be back after the ceremony to gather her rented items. In my contract, it also stated that I would keep the alter arrangements. The flowers were pretty and they were placed in slim glass vases. When I went back to make sure everything was clean she had removed the flowers from the cases and thrown them on the alter. As much as I paid I would have expected more and not to be so careless as to throw my flowers on the alter of my church. In my contract it also stated that my bouquet would be wrapped in white and pinned with rhinestone studs. Instead it was wrapped in cheap looking rhinestone wrap that I clearly expressed at our meeting that I did not want due to the fact that i thought it looked cheap. To sum it all up, my experience with this florist was very unprofessional. Her communication was poor, as well as her attentiveness to the contract in which she wrote. I would suggest everyone read the reviews and do their research before booking this florist.

Unfortunately, we did not have the same experience with Gail as some other couples. We met Gail at a bridal show and her presentation and personality seemed great, even to our first meeting. Afterwards, she became extremely UNPROFESSIONAL. We never received any kind of signed contract, to begin with. After that, getting in touch with this woman was the most difficult task in the world. It took days of waiting and multiple emails to receive any kind of receipt for payments, and when we did the replies were less than courteous. We went over what we needed in the first meeting but in the confirmation documents we finally did receive, there was something wrong each time, even after I asked her to correct it. In the first place she was charging for too many bouquets and boutonnieres, when she finally updated the correct number, I asked her what the new price would be. She seriously told me it would be MORE than initially quoted!! (But she oh-so-generously wouldn’t charge for some of the extra. What extra??) We explained first hand we were on a budget and tried to go cheap by using silk flowers but we were seriously ripped off. No matter how many times we asked for an itemized invoice of the cost of each item, we could not get anything from her until too late. We were really taken by surprise, other reviews were so positive and we were unprepared. We were the suckers on this one. On a quality note: as scared as we were to see how the flowers would turn out, they looked very nice. Not worth what we paid, but we were thankful to have nice looking flowers. Take our advice: PLEASE do your research and know what you are getting into ahead of time!

Gail and her team were fantastic! They are true professionals and know their stuff. I only met Gail twice and we conversed through a handful of emails. Everything was beautiful! From the centerpieces, to the bouts/bouquets to the pumpkin and mum arrangements on the drawbridge of the Castle. I was truly in awe when I saw everything. I took the advice of my family and other "knotties" and did not try to micromanage my vendors - and I'm very glad I didn't. What Gail and her team came up with was more spectacular than I could have ever dreamed up!!

I won a free bouquet from Bennetts at a drawing at the Castle McCullough and Gail did a wonderful job on it . It is silk flowers and she took what I said I liked to have flower wise and made the most beautiful bouquet I have for my wedding so much so that I am thinking of having her do the rest of my bridal parties flowers. Gail is wonderful and the flowers I won are beautiful.

Gail took the vision I gave her for my flowers and far exceeded my expectations. I gave her my color swatches, and she matched them perfectly. The flowers were stunning and pure beauty. She also directed my wedding all the way through to the reception. Everything went so smoothly. I had no worries or stress that day. She knew exactly what needed to be done. Gail also did my reception decorations. She again took my concept and brought it to life. She is very talented with flowers/decorations and is very creative. Even if you don't know what to do, she can come up with an idea to steer you in the right direction. Her years of experience serve as a guide for what is a good idea and a bad idea. She is the ultimate professional. I would highly recommend her.

Gail was very professional to deal with and always accessible by email or phone. Since the bride and groom live out of state to the wedding site, Gail met with the bride and groom and myself during the Christmas holidays when her shop was officially closed. She listened to what the bride wanted and made suggestions where needed. On the wedding day Gail personally delivered the bouquets, bouts and wristlets they were stunning and as the bride had requested. Gail had not seen the color green of the guys ties as they were purchased from a sample fabric and not rented from a tux rental shop. However, the ribbon on the mothers wristlets matched the ties perfectly. About 10 days before the wedding the bride cancelled corsages for some of the special guests which meant no refund. However Gail was willing to provide flowers as a placement for the cancelled items. These flowers were to be used for other arrangements to be made by friends. This meant no loss of funds for the bride and groom. When the last minute change to remove the corsages was made I requested flowers that were just some type of fall flowers. When Gail delivered the bouquets, bouts and the flowers on the wedding day, the flowers she brought as replacements for the cancelled items were the same type flowers used in the bouquets which worked perfectly to compliment the other table decorations. As mother of the groom hosting the wedding at our home I would recommend Bennett's Baskets & Bows to any bride.

Absolutely loved this vendor! I had a beach themed wedding and the decorations were beautiful! My bouquet was made completely out of seashells to fit our themed wedding. She is an excellent person to work with and will help design your flowers to your budget! We couldn't have picked a better person to do our wedding! I highly recommend her!

I have absolutely no complaints about Bennett's Baskets 'n Bows! From the time I first contacted them, Gail was super sweet, very helpful, and very professional and prompt. Bennett's Baskets 'n Bows went above and beyond to create every image I had for our wedding day. We had two beautiful arches, hanging mason jars w/ flowers down the aisle, bridesmaids carried parasols w/ the shaft decorated w/ flowers, and many more areas of the venue they helped transform into a our perfect wedding setting. Not only did they do the flowers but helped order chairs, tables, wall curtains. I would find a picture or have an idea and send it to Gail and she made it happened. I never had to worry about anything from our first consultation till the big day!

I loved Gail.....she was so good to work with and knowledge of flowers was absolutely wonderful. I knew nothing and she made my daughters wedding absolutely beautiful. When my youngest son gets married will direct my future daughter n law to Bennetts baskets n bows.

While planning our wedding my husband and I lived two hours from Bennett's, nonetheless Gail made the time to meet with us a few different times and never rushed our meetings. Walking in to our first meeting I really had no idea what I wanted and Gail was patient with me and focused my attention to what turned out to be a truly beautiful wedding and reception. Gail was always available by phone and when my husband and I decided to slash the flower budget by $1,000 Gail rose to the occasion, and diligently worked with us to give us something beautiful without compromising quality. I will continue to recommended Gail and her team at Bennett's Baskets & Bows and appreciate all of their creativity and hardwork.

Gail Bennett was the florist/decorator/director for my wedding. She did a beautiful job of decorating the church, helping me order my invitations, guest book, flower girl basket, ring bearer pillows, and of course most importantly creating beautiful flower arrangements for my wedding and reception. I found a picture of a bouquet that I loved and decided to plan my colors and everything else around the bouquet. It was a huge bouquet with approximately 4-5 dozen roses. She made it even. Ore beautiful than the picture I gave her of the bouquet I wanted! I would definitely recommend her (and have) as a florist for anyone's wedding!

Gail is the best she does great work for a great price. All the flowers and fixtures were setup exactly how we wanted them and she made the process super easy definitely recommend!!!

I was a little disappointed in the service and quality I received through this vendor. I was referred to them by another bride. Make sure to get specific dimensions of the arrangements when ordering, or you might just end up disappointed too.

Flowers were not the items I wanted to spend a lot of money on because I was only using them for the bouquets. Gail is the owner and she is the sweetest lady you will ever meet. She normally needs a two weeks to a month to order flowers if they are exotic and have to be shipped in but I waited until the last minute and was still able to get a beautiful bouquet. I met with Gail the week before my wedding. I did not really have any ideas on what kinds of flowers I wanted in my bouquet or the bridesmaids but she made it real easy to come up with something. Gail also will work with you in order to keep within your budget. After we finalized everything I still was unsure of how the bouquets were going to look but I trusted her and knew they would be beautiful. When I got the bouquets on Saturday I was not disappointed. They looked wonderful and she even gives you the toss bouquet for free. She is somewhat on the expensive side, I think for the area I live in but I also know real flowers are not cheap. But Gail works with you to try to get you to a price you are comfortable with.

Gail was incredible from start to finish. She was polite and professional. We had no wedding planner and had no idea what we were doing. Gail guided us through the entire process, made excellent recommendations while heeding our expectations, and brought to light some aspects we would have certainly missed without her. The flowers were fresh and beautiful and the decor she provided for our center pieces and Unity Ceremony was exquisite. For anyone looking for an elegant and affordable florist look no further than Bennett's Baskets 'n Bows.

Gail is great to work with. She is very spunky and very knowledgable about weddings and decorating. Her input was very helpful. I loved the way my bouquet looked. She gave me a silk version of my bouquet for my bridal portraits and I am able to keep that for life. She also gave me a "throw" bouquet so I would not have throw my bouquet the day of the wedding. They also helped decorate for the ceremony and did a beautiful job. We rented tables, chairs, and linens through the company and they were exactly what we wanted. Everything was done in a timely matter and turned out beautifully.
