It was such a lovely experience at Bernardo Winery and working with Terry. She was very patient and kind with us and answered all our questions. We had a very small wedding and intimate setting, and they worked with our budget. It was a perfect setting and night for our wedding. The staff was all so wonderful and accomodating as well. I couldn’t be happier!

Terry put in so much to work to help us achieve our dream wedding. We simply cant thank her enough. Bernardo Winery provided us with food from their Kitchen restaurant and gelato from their shop. They also gave us the option of an open bar that served wine and beer. We and our guests were so pleased with the service and food. We highly recommend Bernardo Winery for all your event needs!

te was delayed due to covid, and everyone at the winery bent over backwards to ensure our replanned date went seamlessly.
I was quite worried about planning the wedding from the UK but Terry the wedding coordinator bent over backwards and made sure everything went to plan and her wealth of knowledge and fantastic communication skills helped us no end. Terry we cannot thank you and your team enough we had the most amazing day because of you!
Every member of staff helped through the planning stages and made our special day absolutely perfect, it felt like a dream.
The location, was immaculate the food was better than we could imagine and the setting you can’t get better.
We could not be happier with our wedding and would not change a thing, if we were to do it all again.

ery setting without having to travel far from the city. This venue not only met those expectations, but were able to accommodate all of our vendors. The getting ready room on site for both girls and guys is key, and there were many different locations for photo/video options. Our photographer and videographer were both swooning. Terry worked with us throughout the whole year and a half engagement, met with us when we wanted to, and always made us feel like our day would be perfect (which it was). Plenty of parking on the day of, and our guests loved being able to wander the winery before the ceremony. You won’t be disappointed with this venue!

r date. She had called me and offered to give us a tour this past Sunday, which we were excited about. HOWEVER, after driving 1.5 hours to the winery.... she never ever showed up! We called and emailed several times and 'til this day, she still hasn't responded to us! I find this quite unprofessional and a waste of our time!! We noticed another couple was there walking around as well and it seemed like they were also there for a tour.... so instead, we toured it ourselves... We actually liked what we saw, but due to this unprofessionalism, we are taking our wedding elsewhere.

Bernardo Winery is absolutely beautiful. I can not give Terry enough credit for how amazing she is. She is the type of person that keeps you calm during the entire wedding planning...
process. I gave Terry all of our signs, decor, etc. for the day of our wedding without knowing where they would end up going, and she did a perfect job making sure that everything looked absolutely amazing. We had moved to Chicago from San Diego for grad school half way through the wedding planning process, and Terry made it so easy for us to finish planning the wedding long distance. During the rehearsal, she made sure everyone knew exactly what and when they were doing things, that I was actually RELAXED as the bride the day before my wedding because she took care of everything. Terry you are so sweet and we can not thank you enough!!

dding! We met with Terry (Bernardo Winery's WONDERFUL wedding coordinator) and immediately fell in love with this venue. The winery itself is a public place (with PLENTY of parking) but our wedding ceremony/reception was very intimate and tucked away in it's own private area. For our wedding, white lights were wrapped around tree trunks and flowers were in full bloom everywhere we looked. Our photographer was blown away by the many choices of beautiful photo opportunities including the barrel room, the vineyard at sunset, and the rustic walls and ambience of the winery itself. Terry was very organized, always responded quickly to emails, and made us feel completely at ease when it came to nervous wedding jitters. We can't thank her enough for being a part of our special day and for making everything come together so smoothly. I would HIGHLY recommend visiting Bernardo Winery- whether you are planning your own wedding or just stopping by for a wine tasting I guarantee you won't be disappointed! :)

ife being from japan and wouldnt be here till a few days before the event. Terry helped so much and made it super easy by providing a list of approved vendors to go for when it came to Food and music along with anyone else we might need.
I did find my photographer on my own. I used the on site company Branches Floral Studio for our flowers. Everyone liked the way all the flowers looked. There is a salon at the site also which made getting my wifes hair ready and fresh for the event super easy.
Terry made this wedding go smooth. I felt almost no stress on the wedding day. Everything went way better then i had imagined. Hearing from my guest that they had such a good time made me feel glad i held my wedding there.
i cant wait to see the photos of the event when they are ready. If i had the chance to hold another event there, i would do it!

All of our guests are local to San Diego and everyone kept coming up to me throughout the night saying how pretty the venue is, that they want to come back to the winery to explore more & enjoy wine tastings with their friends. The venue is everything that my husband & I had wanted + more. When you book at the winery you also get the perk of their venue coordinator, Terry Lowrey.
Terry is above and beyond fantastic. She brings a lot of experience for her new brides that feel lost in the planning process. She is patient with you, makes sure that your wedding goes as seamless as possible and is open to making things happen, the way you envisioned it. She is the reason that not one thing went wrong at our wedding. Terry catered to my special requests, made a point that whatever my vision for the day was that she would execute it and she also had many suggestions/ideas/answers when I was struggling to find solutions of my own. I highly recommend this venue and I highly recommend Terry Lowrey! Thank you for making my wedding everything I had ever hoped for.

My now husband and I were married at the Bernardo Winery's Rosario Pavilion less than a week ago, on September 2nd, and we could not have been happier with the experience. We chose...
this venue for our special day because of its beauty and rustic vibe, which is the look we were going for, and its superb bar package (their wines are oh, so tasty!)
With this reservation also came Terry Lowrey, the venue's wedding manager and coordinator. She is amazing! She went above and beyond all of our expectations. If there one thing I could recommend to future brides, it is to make sure you have an excellent coordinator. Terry was just that. From the moment we chose the winery as our venue, until the night of our wedding, she helped us plan, made sure every aspect went smoothly and beautifully, and she made sure we always had a glass in our hand and a smile on our faces.
This was a destination wedding for my husband and I, so we were very stressed about the long distance planning and could not afford to make constant trips back and forth to San Diego. Terry made sure to keep us updated and on-track, and had no problem coordinating with us over the phone to make sure we were able to get our dream wedding.
She not only made sure that all of our vendors were on the same page and ready for our special day, but she also took the time to get to know us. She made sure that we had everything we wanted and needed, treated us and our families with the uttermost respect, and remained happy while doing so.
Our wedding could not have turned out more perfect! The only bad part was that it eventually had to come to an end. It was the most wonderful day of our lives, and Terry, along with the rest of the staff at the Bernardo Winery, made it all happen.

I knew this venue was "the one" from the minute I saw it. It was very reasonably priced (she didn't charge us more for having the wedding on a holiday weekend like most venues) and...
Terry made sure we were taken care of in every way. She took care of everything the day of so I was entirely relaxed and enjoying myself.

er time to get to know you as a couple and asks all the right questions to help you establish a timeline and create a wedding that will be all the you wished for. when you are unsure about something she guides you with her experience and makes suggestions to your plan but makes sure you agree on everything. The planning was so much less stressful with her help and her and Marjorie helped stage the barrel room just as I had asked them to. all our guests loved the venue and how rustic yet elegant it is.

and really unique and it is truly a one-of-a-kind venue. Bernardo Winery has such a charm and inviting character that makes you feel relaxed as soon as you set foot on the property. Our entire guest list, wedding party and families of both my husband and I are still raving about how much they enjoyed Bernardo Winery and all it has to offer. As a bride, You could not ask for better venue coordinators than Terry and Marjorie. These two women are honestly angels on earth. They made sure that the entire planning process was fun and easy. Meetings were always paired with wine and a great conversation. Terry made sure to get to know us and our families well and was always happy to give us a tour and show us great locations for photos. She answered a million questions for me and ensured me that she would do her best to make my day the very best! The winery itself is magical and when you're getting married there it is even more perfect. ryone that I had worked with from the very beginning was so helpful, accommodating and informative. I had gone to the Bernardo Winery Wedding Expo and fell in love, I knew that I had to have our wedding there.
The ease of having everything on site to the preferred vendors that they provided really made our wedding go smoothly. San Diego Party People, Jeremy Jones, was our DJ and a preferred vendor of the Bernardo Winery and the music was perfect.
Not one complaint about the noise, really great sound quality through the ceremony to the reception, definitely loud enough.
Like most reviewers before me everyone wishes the night could go on forever and the 9PM shut down seems like it is too early. In our case we danced the night away for hours and kept the party going back at the hotel but I will never forget those 5 hours at Bernardo Winery.
The communication that the Wedding Coordinator, Terry and Cafe Merlot, Toni & staff, provided throughout the entire process was impeccable. My Wedding Coordinator, Pam, set up everything so beautiful and worked behind the scenes to make everything run smooth.
Every detail that I requested was carried out from the menu to the chairs to the set up to the overall vibe of the day.
I was so pleased and filled with joy on the day of my wedding and I am still getting compliments on how it was one of the best weddings my guests had been too.
The wine/champagne/beer was awesome!
I really don't have any complaints with this wedding venue, it was the most memorable night and I wouldn't have changed a thing.

venue we visited and we were in love.
The compliments have not stopped about what a beautiful wedding it was. The staff at Bernardo, specifically Terry, were phenomenal! All of our meetings were productive and informative. She made all of my visions come true. Having her experience as the "Day of Coordinator" was priceless.
A few things I would have changed:
1. I wish they had later hours. Having the reception end at 9:00 was kind of a downer. The neighborhood requires them to end at 9:00, but 10:00 or 11:00 would have been so much better.
2. The bar fee. We had multiple adults who do not drink (AA & preference) and we still had to pay the $20 a head. Maybe implement a wrist band system for the actual drinkers?
3. A beer list to choose from would have been easier, not random beers chosen by the winery. Every crowd has different tastes and even though craft beer is amazing, not everyone has a taste for it. A regular beer (Miller Light, Bud Light, Coors Light) would be a really nice option.
Overall, these gripes are not that important in the big scheme of things. We still had an amazing & unforgettable wedding. Just didn't like that these things were out of my control.

tring lights, old license plates, and antique wine-making equipment, plus the trees on property are all pre-lit. This gave us a built-in rustic charm without any additional costs. On top of that, the wedding coordinator on site - Terry - is a top notch professional. She made us feel at ease every step of the way, and gave us tried and true vendor recommendations when needed. The day of, she kept everything rolling smoothly and allowed us to enjoy the day.
Costs are this venue are a flat site fee plus the open bar package, which amounted to about $25 per person. Flexible site rates for weekdays, but the bar package is a non-negotiable. For us, this was fine, but if you have a lot of non-drinkers, you may want to reconsider.
Overall, this venue is a dream come true, and anyone would be lucky to host a celebration there.

ht (vitos garden) which was a better fit for us. It included a huge lawn area (perfect for kids and we had wanted lawn games) 2 gazebos with the vineyard in background. Amazing photo op areas (windmills, swings, old pull cart) and still included covered bar area and dance floor. To top it all off for us the venue fee was less then half the cost of the other one (other included bridal room and a little fancier bar area) Overall a great experience and amazing service (even had a back up plan ready for me due to rain the day prior) For a beautiful upscale location that won't break the bank this was perfect

available for me every step of the way to answer my million questions and was very prompt and professional. She's a sweetheart to work with and would recommend her to any bride to work with. She thinks of details that you may not have. Stay in touch with her throughout the process to ensure all your needs are met. The price was one of the best I found in SD and if you are looking for that country, rustic design - Rosario's is the perfect venue. My guests raved about the location and beauty of everything all night! Love the wooden barn type look and feel with all of the twinkle lights - it's just perfect.
You do have to purchase the open bar package along with the venue fee - however, the beer selection is great and you get to do a special wine tasting to select your own wine list. Note: You can have free flowing champagne all night as one of your white wine selections. My guests thoroughly enjoyed this and I know several of them bought the wines afterwards too!

ery last moment we rolled out of the parking lot. We had our ceremony and reception in the gorgeous and well manicured Rosario Garden. And for the price, it cannot be beat by any other winery.
As a warning, the chairs that are included with the package are a little backyard barbecue-ish because they are white plastic folding chairs. Unfortunately, the other options available, which are very nice, are $5 a piece which, for chair rental, seemed excessive. Nonetheless, the white plastic chairs were sufficient and there were zero complaints. Most people only use them for dinner anyway.
Seriously though, the place is gorgeous, Terry and all of the staff are amazing and extremely helpful!! Best day of my life!

venue and it was so nice to have our wedding outdoors. People commented on how much they loved this location and how they enjoyed having space to move around. It really is a lovely location. When you book a wedding there they include all of the tables and chairs are included and there is a mandatory hosted beer and wine bar which was perfect for us because that is just what we wanted. It was perfect!

he venue until 9pm, so the evening felt a bit cut short; also, you can only bring in your supplies the day of, and cannot drop items of the day before, which was challenging b/c we had a lot to bring in. Otherwise, wonderful experience and very nice staff.

y my sister who had recently planned her wedding. driving in to the parking lot my husband says "i like it" and i had to explain to him that we were only in the parking lot! it is such a quaint, elegant, cozy place to be and every time i was there i felt so much peace and comfort, even amidst all the craziness and stress of the wedding planning. we chose to have our ceremony and reception here but in 2 different sites which was an extra fee but well worth it. it is already such a beautiful venue and lends itself to a certain feel for a wedding so we did a ton of diy decorations to place all around. the day turned out more beautiful than i could have imagined. the family that owns the winery is so friendly and always around giving it that down-home feel that i really love. terri, the wedding coordinator there was very friendly and helpful. we used their on site caterer, cafe merlot, and the food was truly the best part of our wedding. the only thing i did not like was that the music could not be very loud due to the residential neighborhood around the winery. guests still had a great time but music had to be off by 9 ON THE DOT so we drove down the road to the rancho bernardo inn where we continued the party, stayed the night, and enjoyed brunch there the next day.
definitely look into the bernardo winery for any bride looking for a very rustic, cozy, outdoorsy wedding!

a wonderful backdrop for an outdoor wedding. The staff at the winery were very helpful and were there to make sure everything was taken care of. Ann Marie was fantastic in making sure we had everything we needed before and during the wedding. The bridal room was ready for us when we got there and they had mimosas and water waiting for us. They took care of the setup and take down of all the chairs, tables, and heaters/umbrellas. I don't think I could have picked a nicer place to have my wedding.

beautiful backdrop for pictures on winery grounds (definitely ask if you can take pictures in the barrel room and among the grape vines!) relaxed country vibe in the reception...
space nice ambiance and lighting pretty during the day and at night;the event staff was a bit disorganized/forgetful about things we had agreed upon when we met. keep copies of everything.
