Pete was amazing! He got all the music we wanted at our Wedding and made sure he kept us on time with our schedule! He knows how to keep the audience involved, he is very professional and enjoyed meeting him before our wedding before we finalized everything.
If you are looking for a quality DJ that truly cares about you and your event, look no further! Pete went above and beyond to make sure that we had a perfect AV setup for both my wedding ceremony and the reception. He was willing and able to work with my dad and I to accommodate some fun music requests for the “grand entrance” and the father/daughter dance (including a slideshow). I also love that he offered the getaway sparklers in his package! That is something I wasn’t expecting, but it was so nice to have that taken off my plate! Highly recommend!
We worked with Pete from Best DJ's Texas and he was great! He was not only the DJ that played music but he did a great job letting our guests know when things were happening. He had a wide range of music and did a great job reading the crowd and keeping them on the dance floor. He was great to work with and I would recommend him to any bride!
We had booked Best DJ's Texas for our wedding and Mr, Aranda was initially responsive to our requests. My now-wife had scheduled an appointment with him to finalize the song list in Austin, which is over an hour and a half drive from our home. My wife waited for over an hour and he did not show up or answer his phone or emails. She thus wasted her whole afternoon. We had attempted to contact him multiple times over the next four days without any response. It was now less than one week until the wedding with no contact from him. We did not know if he had another gig, if the business closed down, or if he was otherwise incapacitated. We were short on time and had to book another DJ company on that short notice.
A few days before our wedding, the DJ finally called us back. His explanation for his unprofessionalism was that he went to visit an ailing relative and did not have his phone. He stated that he understood our predicament and that he would refund our deposit.
We called him after our wedding to inquire about the refund. He then refused to return our deposit. We were able to contact the owner/boss of the company after much internet searching. The owner said that he'd look into the matter, but later refused to answer our phone calls. Again, we attempted to contact Mr. Aranda. He responded back by calling my wife and threatening her over the phone. We filed a polive report that very day for the threatening call.
The company no longer responded to our calls for a refund. We sent a certified letter requesting the refund - again, no response. We finally resorted to disputing the charge with the credit card company and had our money returned. The credit card company said that the dispute was uncontested.
This was an incredibly frustrating ordeal that we sustained while planning our wedding. Phone threats? Really? He even threatened a lawsuit if we wrote any negative reviews. We cannot endorse such unprofessionalism.
The DJ I was assigned by my venue was very hard to get in touch with, played the wrong first dance since he did not get back in touch with me to check everything, and played songs that did not go along with the type of list i sent him. he was a nice guy, but it was disappointing.
All over the place, hard to get a hold of, full of promises and false enthusiasm...
1- Did not have my ceremony properly miked
2- Missed the cue to start the recessional song and left us standing up there staring at the crowd
3- Totally strayed from our very thought out list of music in order to have a "dance party" you'd find at an 18 and under club
4- DJ Pete didn't have a proper guitar hook up for a musical guest and then was rude to our guest and rolled his eyes at him
5- Was more concerned with running around being a social butterfly at the wedding than making sure important announcements were heard- my mom missed the bouquet toss.
6- Pete Aranda with Best DJ's Texas has now been removed from my venue's preferred vendor list
We found Pete and his staff at a bridal extravaganza...my mom and I knew right away that Best DJ's was the right choice for our reception. They were in the process of moving offices when we booked with them, which made communication a bit difficult, but Pete made sure to meet with me and my fiance before the reception and had us fill out an outline with our first dance songs, cake cutting song, etc. He was very professional and personal, and kept people out on the dance floor the whole evening! Our guests also loved the photo booth (which was a great value), and the scrapbook attendant put everything together and had it ready to give to us as we left the reception! Best of all, Pete checked in with us periodically throughout the evening to make sure things were going how we wanted them. Our reception was no less than perfect, and it was because of Pete and his coworkers that the evening went so smoothly. Thanks!! :)
We had Pete for our DJ and he was so much fun!! He's an amazing guy to work with. He was very professional at our reception and also knew exactly how to create the perfect party atmosphere for our guests. He listened to our requests for the 'feel' of our reception and he was loyal to our specific song requests. It was a dance party that our guests still talk about over 6 months after the wedding day!! All thanks to Pete - he's simply amazing!
Pete was absolutely great to work with in the pre-wedding planning, and he did a fantastic job at the wedding. showed up on time to set up, played everything I asked for and more. Had several people comment on how great the music was! And best of all, his prices were very reasonable.
I heard about Pete from some friends who were getting married the week after we are. I met him at the bridal extravaganza in Austin, and put a deposit down. He said he would call that week but didn't. I had to call him to set up a time to have a meeting. While at the meeting, he asked me if I wanted to accompany him to some wedding's he was working so I could get some ideas on time lines. I wasn't about to go to weddings I didn't know the people of, but he said he would tell people I was "interning". My total price was due less than a week after we met, I didn't pay it because I had a bad gut feeling. I read a review on here and decided to go with another DJ. I never heard anything a week after my final payment was due which made me sure of my decision. I called to let him know but he said he thought I had "needed some time". He said he would give me my deposit back and I haven't seen a penny of it. Bottom line, he's unreliable, his contract looks homemade and he stole my money.
Pete came with excellent recommendations from our wedding planner, and our meeting with Pete before the wedding was great. He told us that he always comes with an assistant so that he is available to work the crowd, round up guests for various events (eg, cake cutting, garter toss, etc). He told us that his job is to make sure that everyone there has a great time and promised that he does not let the guests just sit there. He is the motivator and energizer that gets them up and dancing. He also burns discs of our "wedding soundtrack" to double-up and make sure that nothing goes wrong on your big day and the bride and groom can have them to keep. Perfect! That sounded great. He had a great energy about him and has a lot of experience under his belt.
After that meeting, everything started to downslide. Even contacting him to sign the contract and pay the deposit was difficult. It is best to call Pete rather than email, as I never received a reply to any of my emails. That was concerning. My parents got ahold of him on the phone, and Pete confidently verified that everything was ready.
On the wedding day, he arrived later than he had promised, he didn't have an assistant, there were two times when the music stopped and he wasn't around, there was a time when I had to go look for him to change up the night's schedule since none of the guests were dancing and the party was slowing. I really like Pete, but it seems like at my wedding, he was just having a real "off"' day. The DJ holds the energy of the night, and ours was unfortunately pretty quiet. Also, I was looking forward to our soundtrack, which we didn't get. I haven't yet contacted him to see if I can still get it.
