BEST WESTERN PLUS Posada Royale Hotel & Suites

We were planning a wedding with a very limited budget. I contacted many places that wanted a guarantee of 50 min and they would charge extra for the ceremony. I started working with Tracy and she was very warm and accommodating . She was willing to charge p/p for 40 guests with no add ons for the ceremony. She worked within our budget. I started to panic as Tracy moved on to another place right in the middle of my planning. I then worked with her assistant Sandy and she was Great. Luckily I had everything written in email, and I recommend everyone write everything down as you never know if the person you are working with and is approving your requests will still be there. Sandy was able to pick up where we left off. I really needed her input as we did not have a wedding planner, just me, mother of the groom, and the banquet manager Imelda was most helpful and on top of everything. You couldn't work with nicer and more dedicated people. We had a sit down dinner for about 44 people in the Club Royale room. It's a delightful room with a bar and a fireplace. It's the perfect size room for 40-50 people. They also have larger banquet rooms. The food was very good. We served New York steak, salmon with a dill sauce , or pasta. The meal includes salad, 2 bottles of wine per table and a champagne toast. The meal also includes hot and cold appetizers and they were delicious and plentiful. They do not nickel and dime you or add any unexpected charges. I was even able to bring some bottles of wine for a $10 corkage fee, more reasonable than other places I checked with. We had planned for an outdoor wedding as they have a nice patio with a water feature located right off the Club Royale room. Unfortunately it rained that day and we decided last minute to move the ceremony indoors so our guests would be warm. We were able to use a banquet room for the ceremony. It worked but I recommend the outdoor patio weather permitting. The bride and groom receive a complimentary suite for the night. It was large and nice to have. It was supposed to include a bottle of champagne and strawberries which we not delivered but my son did not follow up and ask for it as he said they would not drink it anyway. They also get a free breakfast the next morning. They do not have an elevator so keep that in mind as the room is upstairs on the second floor, this was not an issue for anyone in our group. If you are looking for a nice place with a great staff, plenty of free parking, good food and reasonable prices ( for a wedding) then I highly recommend you check Posada Royale out.

I had a block of rooms available for my guests. The staff is very accommodating. My guests enjoyed the free breakfast. Depending on how many guests book rooms, the bride gets a discounted or free bridal suite plus they will provide a shuttle to the wedding for your guests. I thought the bridal suite was a little overpriced.

This place was great!!! We used them as our guest accommodation hotel for our wedding in May 2011. The rooms were clean & had a nice set up, the pool & spa were great, and the beds were comfy. Posada was great with keeping in contact with me (Bride) to set up the rooms before the wedding, they provided a shuttle to and from the wedding site (Hartley Botanica- Highly recommended!!!!!) to the hotel for our guests, and they provided our guests with a special print out given when they checked in that thanked them for coming & gave the shuttle times. The best thing I heard from the guests was the amazing breakfast buffet that is included!! Its a full buffet, complete with omelet bar and a GOOD breakfast, none of this continental crap! :) They provided us (Bride & Groom) with a free honeymoon suite!! (We didn't end up using it because we had other plans, but we just gave it to our parents to use, they said it was great!) Posada provided print out information cards that we could include into our wedding invitations, which helped. They weren't cheesy, either :) Posada was easy to find, about a mile each direction off the 118 fwy and 23 fwy, right near a shopping center...which helped with getting last minute stuff for the wedding! They also share a parking lot with Elephant Bar, which was convenient for our guests who wanted to continue the party after the wedding!! There are about 3 great golf courses that are less than a mile from Posada, which kept a lot of the guys busy while the women were doing last minute wedding details :) If you're in the Simi Valley/Moorpark/Thousand Oak/Westlake Village area and you need a great hotel...this is the place!! Caroline at the Posada Royal made our special weekend run smoothly and effortlessly. The hotel itself is really nice for a Best Western with a great pool area. We had our rehearsal dinner there as well and it was wonderful.
