We had our wedding on 10.26.2024, both the ceremony and reception at the Top of the park. It was homecoming weekend in Madison and we always throw a Halloween party, so we decided on a Great Gatsby theme. It was PERFECT!
Specifically, a shout out for Jaclyn. She is the absolute BEST. From start to finish, she made everything so easy for me during the planning process! She's organized, prepared, efficient in communication and always always always answered my questions...and I had a lot. She made time in her schedule for me to visit the space - multiple times! She is hands down the best professional to work with in planning.
The entire staff was friendly and accommodating. Even my vendors mentioned that the staff at The Park was the best to work with! The hotel is absolutely gorgeous and the wedding suite? Chef's kiss. That VIEW! And such a comfy bed - I got a great night's sleep the night before. The service was great, everyone who participated in our wedding day was so kind and fun! Food? DELICIOUS. We had a three entree buffet and received so many compliments on our food...we all know that no one lies about the food!
Jaclyn and the staff really did such a great job. She helped me plan everything down to the smallest detail to the point where I had a completely stress-free wedding day. Read that again. STRESS FREE! Truly the greatest gift for a bride. The weekend was perfect, the communication was great, the vibe was impeccable... my only regret? I can't do it again! Would in a heart beat, absolutely recommend this unique, fantastic gem.
Thank you to everyone at the Park for helping us throw the party of the century! Or whatever it is they said in the 20's 😉
Professional photos included in review by Anna Giese - also completely recommend her!
We loved having our wedding reception at the Park Hotel in Madison! It’s the only hotel on the square so it’s a prime location, and the 8th floor has incredible views which we used for our cocktail hour. Jaclyn was our point of contact and she was great to work with. Would definitely recommend!
Jaclyn at the Park Hotel was amazing to work with. She was kind, helpful, and quick to respond to any questions. She gave great advice and helped us make decisions. Her attention to detail and calm demeanor were so appreciated. The whole staff at the Park were so helpful when we wanted to set up the day before as well. The venue itself is beautiful and is a show stopper. The view at the Top Of The Park is unmatched. We were so happy with our choice!
We had the absolute best experience celebrating our special day at the Premier Park Hotel. Their wedding coordinator, Ali, was so helpful and detailed and was able to accommodate almost every request. She was very responsive to every email and phone call and had a great attitude. The venue is beautiful and there was a lot of flexibility in the space to set up how we wanted. Our ceremony, cocktail hour, reception, and brunch was hosted at the hotel and it was a very seamless experience. Every member of the staff was so helpful the day of to make sure everything ran smoothly. The overall price for the space was extremely reasonable. Food and drink costed more than we would have liked but that was due to open bar... and a lot of Wisconsinites! Overall great experience and would do my wedding all over again with this space and team.
We could not have been happier with our experience hosting our reception at the Park Hotel. Both Kayla and Ali are absolutely inredible, the spaces available are gorgeous, the price for what you're getting is phenomenal, and our guests could not stop raving about the food/drinks/hotel overall. Seriously consider booking here - you will not regret it!
Everything about the Park Hotel was amazing and better than we could have expected! Working with Kayla was great and she was always so helpful and accommodating! The food was awesome and we got so many compliments on the food, venue, bar, and staff. They truly went above and beyond to make sure our day was perfect and we were taken care of. Totally recommend the Park Hotel!!!
Kayla was fantastic to work with!! She is smart and on top of all of her emails. She knows how to run an event!
The Park Hotel was the perfect location for our wedding. Our out of town guests got to enjoy Madison while we were getting ready. The food was great and the bartenders did awesome.
If you are looking for a reception venue that is a one stop shop, this is it!
The new renovated Park Hotel is the perfect place to have a wedding! They provide almost everything as part of their package and you don't have to go out and get other vendors for everything. Because it is also a hotel it was so convenient for our guests, who were mostly from out of town. We had a few meetings to go over the details of the day, and we got to pick out every detail of the setup and decorations. The cocktail hour was breath taking as we enjoyed drinks overlooking the amazing city of Madison, with views of the capitol square and Lake Monona. We were so pleased with Sydney, she was so great to work with and we were so happy she was over seeing our event.
BEAUTIFUL venue, we got married on the 8th floor and had our reception there. However, front desk staff..Alec in particular were extremely rude to us at the end of our stay when checking out of hotel rooms and bills were all mixed up. Food was good at the wedding. We did have some issues with our final bill so just pay close attention to your signed contract and bill! Overall, a beautiful venue and our guests constantly were talking about it!
Best day we could have ever asked for! The venue is beautiful and all of our guests commented on it. The wedding coordinator, Yasmeen, was really amazing and made us feel so comfortable. The food was amazing, both the appetizers and the entrees our guests raved about! HIGHLY recommend - our wedding was perfect!
The new renovations are beautiful - the remodel is a breath of fresh air into what was a tired hotel. We got many compliments on our choice of venue - it really is impressive! The food was good as well but that's where the good stuff ends.
We had three different coordinators in a year and a half. Maybe the second one (whom we had longest) set the bar really high but #3 was less than impressive and contributed to my anxiety leading up to our day. We were clearly not a priority, we were told inconsistent things between her, the last coordinator and the GM, and she took FOREVER to get back to us about the simplest questions. During our reception there were a handful of details that were overlooked - not event-ruining but things we put time and care into. Our gluten-free guests were served the gluten-free late-night snack when everyone else got cake and their gluten-free cupcakes were put out with the late-night snack. Not sure how you mess that up when everything is clearly packaged and labeled. The table at which my godmother's family and our photographers were seated had to ask to be served dinner. I was told that there was a smaller, later wedding taking place in the Top of the Park that was being set up before ours that morning. I was told that our coordinator was on-hand whenever she was asked for during our reception - a step up from the lack of attention we'd gotten during the planning process. However, she asked me a question that I had made a point of being the first thing we talked about a week before; I even watched her write it down.
After our wedding my husband and I sent a letter directly to the GM about the handful of things we were unhappy about as a courtesy rather than post negative reviews. We never heard back so clearly once they have our money (a substantial amount) they no longer care.
Three stars for our first two coordinators, the venue itself and food. Two deducted for consistently disappointing service since the departure of our second coordinator.
We recently had our wedding reception at the Best Western Plus Inn on the Park on 8/6/16. They had just completed full renovations of the entire hotel. All the updates are modern and absolutely beautiful! The Top Of the Park on the 8th floor has an amazing view of the Capitol building and was perfect for the rehearsal dinner and cocktail hour. The ballroom on the second floor was spacious and comfortable for all our guests to dance the night away. Every single staff member was so helpful and courteous! Everything went perfectly and I couldn't have asked for a better reception site and hotel for all of our out of town guests. I would highly recommend the Best Western Plus Inn on the Park.
A beautiful venue with a wonderful wedding coordinator (very professional, attentive, organized) and fantastic appetizer options. Booze was a bit expensive, but not any more than any where else. Elaina really worked some magic to make the Top of the Park fit all of our guests and all of our preparations put me at ease on the big day, knowing we had everything taken care of. It would have been nice if we could have started decorating earlier (couldn't get in until almost 11am when the ceremony was at 2pm), but everything went smoothly and Elaina kept everything running great the whole night. I would definitely recommend the location to others!
Overall, the venue was a pretty good experience. We got a great deal for booking only 6 months in advance. Normal prices would be too expensive for the venue (in my opinion).
Cocktail hour was on top of the park-great views of the capitol and lakes. Our guests LOVED this.
Dinner and dancing were in the ballroom. There was some confusion with food and our guests were served the wrong kind of chicken, but management was willing to work with us and comp drinks to compensate.
Set up was really easy--we were able to get in the day before and the coordinator was around to help us with whatever questions we had. Take down needed to be done night of (or by VERY early AM), but coordinator helped and it was done extremely quickly after reception.
This is a older hotel so the rooms are not "standard"...which is neat, but some rooms are very spacious with beautiful views while other rooms feel pretty cramped. Most of our guests were pleased with the rooms, a couple were not. If concerned about this, request your guests get a "suite" which has some more space.
My only complaint about the actual venue would be that the coordinator had switched twice while we were planning and there were a couple things that I had to explain twice or that I had planned with one that did not get carried over to the other. For example cake was supposed to be left out for guests to sample other tables and then we had boxes for guests to take left overs home. This did not happen. No major issues, though.
it was a beautiful reception. the wedding coordinator there, Sandy, was helpful with everything. she has been doing this for many years.
The staff and service were great. The meals served at dinner were slighly different than what we had at our taste testing--but still very good. Our guests had very positive things to say!
We had about 240 guests, so were able to utilize the Top of the Park (which has stunning views of the Capitol and lakes) only for a 2 hour cocktail hour. Our dinner was then in the only ballroom in the hotel on the 2nd floor. Pretty standard hotel ballroom. Projection screen for slideshow and pretty large (20 x 20 i believe) dance floor. Food was excellent and many of our guests raved about it. Flexible in planning. Wait staff served more than one piece of cake to guests, which was not agreed upon, and the seating arrangement/placement of tables was different than the diagram we provided. Bar far from the dance floor so guests were split between the two. Great that we were the only wedding there and were treated well. Great to be downtown for guests! Top of the Park was awesome for brunch the next morning as well. All in all a good experience!
We had a great experience working with Sandy at the Best Western. Our wedding was right before Christmas time and the venue worked with our decore for their Christmas/Winter Theme. The reception went off without a hitch, if there was one, I never knew about it! I would highly recommend this location.
We loved working with Jean, the event planner. The food was amazing and most the servers were fantastic.;If you are looking for a place with a good view this would not be it. It is across from the airport on a main road.
Everything was in one room.
The Top of the Park room is beautiful for a small reception or cocktail hour, with gorgeous city views. The venue is across the street from the State Capitol, for beautiful wedding picture spots.;The hotel is older, but has undergone some renovation in the past few years. The food is good, but not gourmet.
