Please use another vendor for your florals! Sherry lacks professionalism and communication skills. All the negative reviews are true, she will ruin your event!
Unprofessional and lacks knowledge on how to run a business. Sherri is a cheat. Look elsewhere.
We went with Sherry because she was the preferred vendor from our venue (Sheraton), however, I wish we went with another florist! Sherry disappointed us beyond words and left such bad memories of our wedding day. There were a number of things that Sherry did not do that we originally agreed upon such as: 1) We used two faux trees as the backdrop of our ceremony and Sherry said she would stay until the ceremony was over to move them to the sweetheart table so we'd be able to get more use of them. She actually left hours before the ceremony and never came to move them. As the bride and groom, we didn't notice until after the cocktail hour, first dance, cake cutting, speeches and family dances were over (so all the photo worthy moments) We had to ask the hotel staff to move them but at that point, it was pointless. 2) We wanted to reuse our bridesmaids bouquets as centerpieces to save some money but our main concern was the tables being bare as we were taking photos during cocktail hour. Sherry said she would add some greenery / candles on the tables so it wouldn't look so empty. Imagine our surprise when she didn't even do that and SIX tables were completely bare with nothing on it. 3) She did not provide a bouquet for the bouquet toss. So imagine our embarrassment when the DJ announced it was time for our bridal toss and I am standing in front of +100 guests and absolutely nothing to toss. 4) She did not provide a corsage for our grandmother and therefore, we could not honor our only living grandparents.
We reached out to her a few days after the wedding to address our concerns and it took her 5 days (and multiple attempts) to get back to us. Ultimately, Sherry blamed us on each of the concerns we mentioned and said that WE should have told the hotel staff to move the faux trees, WE should have provided greenery/candles for the centerpieces, WE "did not read the invoice correctly" even though it says 'corsage for grandmother'. She did admit on forgetting the bouquet toss but said there is nothing she can do since its something she provides 'complimentary'. Though we had to tell her it wasn't about the money, but rather the principle and a sentimental token as we wanted to preserve that bouquet.
Overall, we paid +$1,600 to have an incomplete sweetheart table, six bare tables with no centerpieces, no bridal bouquet, no corsage for our grandmother, and a sense of disappointment and fraud from Sherry. We advise all couples to please reconsider.
Sherry was amazing to work with! She's very easy-going and knows what she is doing. She based her designs off things I liked on Pinterest, our wedding colors (we just gave her "Autumn" colors) and she couldn't have done a better job! The bouquets, centerpieces and other flowers she chose to do for my wedding fit perfectly at our venue. I'm glad I trusted Sherry with doing this as she came above and beyond to help make our wedding as amazing as it was.
Sherry did the most amazing job on my flowers for my wedding at St. Paul Cathedral and the LeMont. She went above and beyond to make sure that I had the flowers I wanted, and she exceeded my expectations! Sherry was extremely supportive and positive throughout the process- especially during the pandemic. I cannot begin to explain how many compliments we received on the flowers at our reception and our bouquets. Sherry was the best florist to work with, and I recommend her to anyone who is looking for a florist for any occasion!
My flowers were SO beautiful and I was so happy with Bettis Floral! We used them for our ceremony flowers. Once I explained my budget to Sherry, she helped me design a breathtaking bridal bouquet that still fit my budget. And my bridesmaid bouquets and boutineeres were just as lush and beautiful. If you're looking for a high quality florist that offers fair prices, look no further.
Sherry Kai is so easy to work with and was always available for any questions or concerns I had. I am not huge on flowers and she put together my table scape and centerpieces and made my wedding very affordable and classy yet minimalistic. I loved it!
Bettis Floral had great ideas - the arrangements/centerpieces/bouquets/etc. turned out beautifully. However, the level of professionalism was lacking during the planning process. We met 2-3 months before the wedding and discussed what we wanted and the colors. I sent my Pinterest page to the company and other info. The process seemed straight-forward, clear, and organized with two other set meetings to show a partial mock-up (4 weeks out) and full mock-up (2 weeks out).
Then a day or two before our 4 week out meeting, I receive an email asking what I expected from the meeting that week and if I could send over the types of things I wanted. I was pretty upset because I was busy with other planning aspects of the wedding, work, life....this was something I expected the vendor to know and have kept notes of from the last meeting. My fiance talked me down and said to give them a chance at the meeting. So we met and everything seemed great. We were on the same page. The samples we were shown were amazing. We were excited to see the full final samples at the 2 week out meeting.
The last meeting comes up. I receive an email the day before our meeting asking me to send the pictures of the sample centerpieces from the last meeting. At this point, I have family coming into town in a week. I am finalizing the details for the wedding, working, living, and preparing for Christmas. The amount of extra stress created by these interactions was unprofessional. We show up to the last meeting and she has half of two (out of three) of the centerpieces and nothing else.
These second two meetings were not as explained during our first meeting with the vendor, and the vendor did not seem to take organized notes to delineate between customers.
Everything was beautiful. However, the vendor was very stressful to work with and unorganized.
I hate to do this, but Sherry was very difficult to work with. Bettis Floral was part of the wedding package we did through the Sheraton, but I never thought to ask around about their floral services. Sherry did ultimately pull through (for the most part) on our wedding centerpieces, bouquets, and boutonnieres. However, she failed to put centerpieces on both sides of our backdrop (later telling me that I was supposed to do that), she never remembered what we talked about (even after I gave her a paper with a list and pictures of everything we had been discussing. Bettis Floral also does not have their own green house - they import from Israel. Which would be fine, except a week or so before the wedding she told us only roses were available when we discussed a very specific variety for months.
We had wonderful experience with Sherry. She was the event decorator for our daughter’s wedding this June at Hilton garden inn in Southpoint and did a fabulous job. Thank you Sherry
Sherry was so creative and helpful in preparing our floral designs for both our wedding ceremony and reception. She had wonderful and creative ideas that I never would have been able to think of on my own. The flowers were gorgeous, vibrant, and a great size. I was very impressed with their appearance. The linens and centerpieces at my reception were also organized through Sherry. Again, she did a great job with her vision, and the room looked stunning. She took my own color preferences and turned them into a remarkable look that was perfect for my wedding vision. Sherry is such a talented florist and artist, and I highly recommend her to any future brides and grooms!
Sherry was absolutely amazing! She exceeded our expectations for our wedding on April 7th. She had every detail taken care of and made sure to include everything we wanted for our big day.
We used Sherry as our florist for our wedding in October. She was difficult to meet with due to her busy schedule and sometimes was difficult to get in touch with. However, she was able to work with us with the unique idea we had for our centerpieces. She also was very knowledgeable about the flowers that would look best in both the bouquets and the centerpieces. The final product was gorgeous and my breath was taken away when I saw everything put together! She does a tremendous job and will work with you to make your vision a reality! We were very pleased with her service!
Sherry was the florist contracted through our venue. Our package included centerpieces and linens from Bettis. After our first meeting with Sherry, we decided to use her for all of our event flowers (bouquets, boutonnieres, etc.) as well. She has a huge selection to choose from and orders flowers specifically for each event so you're not limited to what the florist has in stock as with other vendors. We were thrilled with the amount of customization and flexibility we had, and felt the upgrades we chose were very fairly priced from the base options included in the package. Sherry is super pleasant to work, very flexible with and really goes the extra mile to make sure you have exactly what you want on your big day. I was incredibly grateful that she was willing to meet with me anytime I was able to get home (even during the holidays) since we were planning from out of town. The only thing to be aware of going in is that the communication with her is a little disjointed. There will be a lot of back and forth over email to solidify plans and you do have to pay attention to all of the details in those communications to make sure everything is correct. We missed a detail in the written order about my bouquet that was discussed several times verbally. It ended up causing a small hiccup day of, but Sherry swooped in to fix it immediately giving me exactly what we discussed. Overall, we were thrilled with the work she did and appreciated having Sherry's positivity as part of our wedding planning!
Her flowers were very nice. We didn't have flowers for our pictures due to poor communication and the type of flowers, but that wasn't that big of a deal. Sherry had the WORST communication I've be seen in a business women. She constantly had details wrong and always had to be corrected. She called my future mother in law the wrong name every times she spoke to her. She would call my wife's phone and ask for my future mother in law. On our first appointment she didn't even know we were meeting that day. Not a good start. The entire experience had to be monitored by our catering manager via CC emails. If it wasn't for the flowers in the end this would of been absolutely a terrible experience.
Sherry is SO great to work with!! We hired Sherry for our wedding & reception flowers. She was fun and easy to work with and understood exactly what I was looking for. The flowers turned out better than I imagined. Our guests were blown away! I heard so many compliments about the flowers!! I highly recommend Bettis Floral!!!
Sherry was great to work with! She was the vendor at the Sheraton Station Square for the centerpieces and linens in my winter wedding package and after seeing her examples, I used her for the rest of our flowers. Sherry met with me in person several times and we also had a few phone calls as I lived out of town. Although virtual planning was hard, everything we talked about was perfect on the day of. The bouquets were beautiful and the centerpieces turned out perfectly. I also loved the look of the linens and colors we went with. Sherry also used candles and lanterns that I had brought and converted the decorations from the ceremony to the reception.
I can not have imagined another florist. I met with Sheri at least three times. She even arranged a sample meeting for me. I'll admit I was nervous because I hadn't seen the bouquets or mothers flowers prior to our wedding day, but there was no reason to me. The reception was set up perfectly, as was the church. Our flowers were exactly where hey we're supposed to be and the floral church arrangements were perfect. She completely nailed my theme and colors. I would pick Bettis Floral over and over again!
They are amazing for everything!
Flowers were totally not what we ordered. Met with Sherry at least 3 times and she did what she chose to do and not what was ordered. Customer service was absolutely terrible!!! Do not recommend ever using this florist for anything!!!
We got linens from them. Although the chair covers were gorgeous, the communication is lacking which will stress out any organized bride. I had to email them at least three times and call them at least twice to get a response and once I got a response, things were wrong. I asked them to change my invoices a few times because colors were wrong. The day of our wedding the cake table tablecloth I ordered was the wrong color and something they couldn't fix that day which was depressing. Overall if you want things to be right and you want good communication, don't go with them. I wouldn't hire them again.
Sherry was wonderful to work with throughout the entire planning process. She went above and beyond to make my bridal bouquet the absolute best. Not only did it smell wonderful, but it looked breathtaking. The flowers for the reception were exactly what I wanted plus more! We did have a little malfunction with the wristlet corsages on our big day, but Sherry was there to take care of it all and handled the situation quickly and efficiently.
Our experience with Bettis Floral was mediocre. Our venue had a contract with Bettis Floral for the centerpiece flowers, so we "had" to use them (I say this with quotations because in retrospect, I realized I didn't ask for clarification about whether we absolutely had to use this florist). Anyway, we set up an appointment to meet with Sherry to discuss the centerpieces. When we went, and she learned that we were doing our wedding party flowers through another florist (a family friend), it seemed like she thought since she wasn't getting any extra business from us, she didn't want to talk about the centerpieces. We left that meeting with zero idea about what they would look like. We were hoping we would talk about specific flowers or different arrangements, and we got none of that. (When we met with our other florist to discuss the wedding party flowers, that is EXACTLY what we did). Once we had our wedding party flowers figured out, I contacted Sherry to let her know. We met with her again and she had a sample centerpiece to show us based off of what flowers were being used in the wedding party flowers. Sherri's sample arrangement was pretty, but we really didn't feel like we had much input into their design.
My other issue was the quality of communication. Today everything is communicated by email; the emails that Sherry and I exchanged were confusing to me. Answers were short and often required two or three more emails to clarify what was being said/planned. This is a big pet peeve of mine anyway, so I was disappointed in the quality of communication.
Overall, the flowers ended up being nice, but we were dissatisfied with the service.
I got married last weekend at the Marriott City Center in Pittsburgh and the centerpieces were included in the package and were done by Sherry. The centerpieces were amazing already but I decided to upgrade and also decided to use Sherry for my personal flowers. First, she TRANSFORMED the ceremony space at the hotel which looked absolutely beautiful! I had a very STRICT budget for my personal flowers and she was amazing to work with. She was very easy to get a hold of and always willing to talk about what I wanted and how we could get there while remaining within my budget. She found a way to be flexible and to make it work for me to be able to get exactly what I wanted with the bridesmaid bouquets for the price I could afford! I can't thank her enough for that. She also did a great job of repurposing the flowers so that we got a lot of "bang" for our buck! She was just great to work with and she has my vote as a great florist!
Wow- I cannot say ENOUGH about Sherry and Bettis Floral Event Design. My reception venue used Bettis Floral Design for our ball room center pieces. I was thrilled to work with Sherry when I first met her and hired her to do our flowers, bouquets, and candle arrangements at our church. Her love for her work is apparent!
From the beginning of our planning, Sherry was a great communicator, made time to meet with us (from out of town), and emailed, called, and texted me with questions.
Sherry is an experienced florist with amazing ideas. We turned our winter wedding into a vintage, romantic, "victorian" themed wedding. She researched and dedicated time to make sure the flowers, candles, center pieces, table cloths, and gold chivary chairs matched our "vision". I recommend Sherry to every couple! She is a hard worker, is very resonable, and will make your dreams a reality.
We used Bettis Floral because they were highly recommended by our venue (the Gateway Clipper) - Sherry was very easy to work with and required very little time commitment from us to get a vision of what we were looking for. The pricing was reasonable for what we received. The only issue were a few small details the day of - the mothers of the bride and groom were to receive corsages and ended up with mini bouquets which caused some confusion, some of the flowers in the bridesmaids bouquets were not open yet so there was a lot of green (they were tiger lillies), and there were some last minute changes made to the arrangements for our trellace - but at the end of the day everything was still beautiful!
We booked our reception at the Marriott City Center in Pittsburgh and their package included the centerpieces from Bettis Floral. I was shown some of her work through a book at the hotel and decided to have Sherry do my bouquets, boutonnieres and corsages. During our first meeting I shared my ideas and she helped guide me on linen selections. I wanted an all white romantic feel for my reception and Sherry definitely helped me accomplish that! Everyone loved the flowers and was thrilled that they were able to take the centerpieces home! My family members still had our centerpieces on display a week after the wedding! I would definitely recommend Sherry and Bettis Floral for your wedding!
Sherry, the owner, did a breath taking job on the flowers. She is very flexiable and willing to listen to my vision. Sherry has an eye for what goes and how to set the tone of the occasion. I was very impressed. She also stays within your budget!!
Sherry's designs were simply stunning. Our reception flowers were part of a package but you wouldn't know it. They weren't at all skimpy, rather, they were full and luscious. The girls' bouquets and guys' boutonnieres were fresh and colorful. Sherry did a spectacular job!
I didn't want to go over the top with uplighting at our wedding, but wanted a little something to create the atmosphere, and Bettis Floral accomplished just that. We set up our uplighting through Big Day, it was simple and looked beautiful. I was vague in what I wanted, but they hit the nail on the head.
Sherri was amazing to work with. She is very personable, creative, proactive, easy to get a hold of, always took the time to meet and was very honest when something work or did not work. Upfront and reasonable with pricing. She took my entire venue who used the same lay out for years and completely flipped it around and turned it into the most amazing place. The result was simply unreal. She understood my vision and made it come to life. Took into consideration all angles of the venue for photography purposes. I have been told that my wedding was "the most romantic and beautiful wedding" they have ever seen I have to agree. Any bride who gets to work with her can consider herself lucky because her wedding will be in great hands.
The flowers on my wedding day were absolutely beautiful, as were the centerpeices. I was very pleased with how it turned out. My only complaint would be the professionalism. I had called the store and made an apt to see a trial of my centerpieces. I showed up and no one was there. We waited about 15-30min, then I called her cell. She was unaware that her staff had booked an apt and apologized. I had to reschedule. I was pretty upset-that left a bad impression. The shop is very small and very disorganized. About a week before my wedding I tried calling because i hadn't heard anything for a while, hadnt seen a contract or a total price. It took a while for her to respond but eventually everything turned out okay. Kinda sketchy but she did beautiful work.
She did an amazing job with our wedding flowers. The centerpieces were perfect, and our bouquets were perfect. We wanted red flowers and I love hydrangeas so in order to do this she hand painted my hydrangeas red. They looked amazing.
However, the guy's boutonnieres and parent's corsages were too large and quite uncomfortable. In fact, my mother ended up taking hers off. Our flowers got "lost" at the hotel and I ended up having to get on the phone to find them (not something the bride generally wants to do). She originally wanted my mom to go back up to the hotel to correct the problem - but being the MOB my mother told her no. Haha. She did end up fixing the issues. I was also missing my toss bouquet - but I subbed it with a bridesmaid's.
My flowers lasted the entire evening and overall I was pleased with the service. However, she had a larger wedding and kind of dismissed us to her assistants.
I WOULD highly recommend her, just make sure to be specific and firm with your expectations. :)
The flowers were beautiful! my mother in law still has some of the flowers 2 weeks later and they are still blooming!
The floral arrangements turned out beautifully. Our centerpieces and the bouquets were gorgeous! We had a special arrangement made for the guest table and they forgot. That was the only draw back.
I had an appointment set up to meet at Bettis Floral on Wednesday, September 7th, 2011 at 6:30. I live on the other side of Pittsburgh and after sitting in traffic for over an hour I finally get to the store. To my surprise there wasn't anyone there to meet me. I had 3 telephone numbers, none with voicemails and no one answered any of them. I couldn't believe that there wasnt anyone there to meet me and that I drove all that way for a huge let down. I would absolutely not recommend them for the simple fact that they are obviously unreliable. What florist doesn't have a voicemail!! Not only had this appointment been rescheduled because they had to cancel, but then they don't even show!!!
The staff at Bettis floral was fabulous! Very creative, knowledgeable, and easy to work with.
I loved my bouquet! Originally I did not have plans to preserve my bouquet, but after I saw it, I knew I wanted to keep it forever.
The centerpieces were fresh and beautiful. They lasted weeks after the wedding (as long as they were hydrated).
