We used big burrito for our wedding at pittsburgh botanic garden. Big burrito is one of the venues preferred vendors..and for very good reason! From the first time I talked to Danielle she was very helpful and that continued throughout the planning process. We had a sit down dinner and I was worried that the quality wouldn’t be quite as good as when we had our tasting. However it was even better than we remembered! SO many guests raved about their meals, appetizers and service! The servers were all wonderful! We can’t say enough good things about them. Thank you Danielle, Robin and all the staff at big burrito!

Big Burrito Catering was the caterer for our daughter’s wedding in April 2023. Everything about Big Burrito Catering was superlative. The selection of food, from all of their restaurants, was amazing in its variety. We did all of our planning with Danielle Cain, the catering manager, and she was great to work with; she was always responsive, reliable, and very helpful. The tasting that Danielle arranged, to help pick the final menu, was a very enjoyable event; everything was far superior to what one might expect from a typical caterer. On the day of the wedding, the food was outstanding; the waitstaff and bartenders were excellent – all very hard-working and professional. Big Burrito really helped to make our special day a wonderful one. Thank you, Danielle and Big Burrito Catering!

BIG catering was absolutely amazing. They were so easy and accommodating to work with. They allowed us to make a custom late night snack and helped to have all fo the ingredients for our signature drinks. The food was absolutely incredible and cooked perfectly. Some of the best and most flavorful wedding food we have ever had. Beyond that, the service was OUTSTANDING! The servers were folding napkins when people got up, taking drink orders so people didn’t have to get up and go the bar. Honestly, we weren’t sure what to expect, but they exceeded all of our expectations. They truly went above and beyond and we cannot recommend them enough!

Not only was the food absolutely amazing but they took care of all of our food set up (even cookies and donuts from other vendors!), checked in with us, and worked great with the set up. They also took care of all of our rentals and took on the fight of ensuring they came on time.

WOW. The best catering experience I've had. We used Big Catering for our wedding (05/27/2022) at Pittsburgh Botanic Gardens. We chose dinner stations of pastas, meats, perogies, desserts, you name it. The first thing people talk about our wedding is the food. It was to DIE for. Guests were so thrilled with the unique offerings and the set up. Big Catering staff was absolutely incredible. From the chefs to the bartenders, everyone was so friendly and accommodating. From day 1 they were so easy to work with, flexible with menu options, amazing tasting sessions, and just fun to be around. We know we will be talking about this food for many years to come and just so thankful we had such a great group there for us. I will recommend this group to anyone and everything, they are truly the best in the biz.

Big Catering is a great caterer if you want delicious food and tons of options to choose from since their food comes from several of the best restaurants in the city. We had a buffet and all of the food was incredible, several guests told me it was the best wedding food they had ever had. The floor manager for the day of made up plates of food for us and made sure we had eaten before mingling with guests. They were also able to accommodate dietary restrictions and were very knowledgeable about what dishes people could eat if they had allergies.

Big Burrito was absolutely amazing! When we did our tasting we had so many different options for appetizers, entrees, and tables of food. We thought some of the flavors from the tasting would change as typically when having catering for a large group of people, food is not cooked as well. This was not the case with Big Burrito. Everything was cooked to how we liked it and everyone told us how surprised they were how great everything was. We would recommend big burrito catering to anyone for any event.

Big Catering was absolutely wonderful for our wedding reception! We couldn't have been happier! The food was delicious, and we've been getting compliments on it for weeks, including rave reviews from my chef brother. The staff was friendly, professional, and helpful the entire evening. One brave server even came outside to bring hors d'oeuvres to the wedding party in the freezing cold (single digit temperatures and windy!), waiting until everyone got enough, kind and friendly the whole time.

AMAZING food. I kept getting compliments all night from my guests, some saying that it was the best meal they've ever had at a wedding. The service at the wedding was flawless, and the caterer even brought my Husband and I appetizers from the cocktail hour just after we were done taking photos, which turned out to be one of my favorite moments! They also did a great job with our signature drinks and moving guests through the meal & bar lines quickly so nobody was waiting too long. With that being said, leading up to the wedding, I thought the communication could have been a little more prompt. I would sometimes have to email/call twice to get a timely response. I also felt like we waited a long time to receive the final invoice, which actually turned out to be more than expected, without notification of additional fees. However, still giving a 5 star review, because, like I said the food and service at the wedding was PERFECT, which outshined everything else, and they really did work well with us and for us :)

Choosing big Burrito to cater our wedding was one of the first decisions we made in the wedding planning process (may have been the second vendor we chose, after our venue). We worked with Danielle and she was VERY easy to work with. We provided her with our vision for our wedding food and she guided us by providing recommendations which allowed us to make sound decisions-along with our wedding planner. On the wedding day, everything, as a couple, seemed to go off without a hitch (at least we never heard of any issues... a huge plus). All of the staff were professional and attentive. The food was AMAZING and it was everything we were promised. After the wedding, all of our guests were so impressed by the food and said "this is the best food we have ever had at a wedding". Again, Danielle was very attentive throughout the process and she was so easy to work with. The quality of the food met our expectations and we had no regrets about our decision to hire big Burrito.

big Burrito's service and food was simply the best. They were communicative, thorough, and so kind. The food was amazing, everyone raved about the passed hors d'oeuvre and dinner. The staff was professional and kindly followed our request to wear masks while serving. We didn't even notice they had cleaned everything up at the end of the night and they left the place spotless!

Big Burrito provided delicious food for our wedding! We had some adventurous foods like raw oysters and lobster rolls so we were a bit nervous but they blew us away! All of the guests were complimenting the food, saying that they never like wedding food, but ours was the exception! Danielle of Big Burrito was especially helpful and flexible in providing various cost estimates for my now husband and I leading up to the big day and worked with us as our total guest count changed due to Covid. Danielle also helped to coordinate other rentals like furniture rentals through Marbella. Super helpful! I highly recommend Big Burrito!

Where do I even start about this fabulous group. Big Burrito made my daughters 350+ guest wedding spectacular. The food options and quality were amazing. They were able to accommodate my Vegan, Vegetarian and child guests easily providing tasty meals for all. I was concerned about how the Filet Mignon would be cooked And needn’t have worried at all. The filet as well as the salmon were cooked to perfection and on par with any if the high end steak houses in Pittsburgh. You can’t go wrong with them as they are worth every penny. They handled every twist and turn with the utmost professionalism and the staff was the best.

So, I now know why Big Burrito Catering is on the short list of approved vendors for my reception venue; over the top amazing! I live in Philadelphia and due to a hectic work schedule could not make frequent trips to Pittsburgh for wedding Planning. Danielle Cain is absolutely the BEST at what she does. There were so many choices for appetizers and meals, that even my Foodie husband was impressed. My cocktail hour was spectacular. I broke my foot days before the wedding and the onsite coordinator made sure sh found me to make sure I ate and put together a plate and a little cocktail table so I didn't have to stand on my air cast. She checked on me constantly. Now to the sit down dinner for 350+.....Perfection! I do not know how such an army of staff can move around a ball room in a whisper, but they did. The food was 10/10 and they even made up my Pittsburgh Cookie Table (and guarded it from little eager fingers). It is true that your get what you pay for and Big Burrito was worth every penny spent!

Big Burrito is simply the best! We definitely went over budget with our catering choices but everybody was so pleased with their meals - literally everything was amazingly delicious from the appetizers to the entrees to the late night taco bar - which was a huge hit!

The food was incredible and the service was impeccable! They were on the ball with everything we asked for, from monitoring dietary restrictions to making sure the passed appetizers made their way around to everyone and especially to us! They even helped us coordinate a couple things, like our processional. Everyone on the team went above and beyond. Couldn't have asked for a better catering team!

We have been to many weddings where the food was just average so it was a goal for us to have delicious, memorable food and bigBurrito delivered! So many of our guests complimented our food, both hor d'oeuvres and plated meals. The service team was also exceptional, prompt and polite. We loved that they set aside two of every hor d'oeuvre to ensure that myself and my husband got to enjoy them!

We used Big Burrito for our New Year's Eve wedding and the food was truly incredible. Such a great mix of different cuisines from their restaurants and all done perfectly! We worked with Danielle during the planning phases and she was a dream. She went above and beyond, coming to our venue multiple times to help with venue layout and table spacing when our numbers proved to be more than we anticipated. Definitely goes above and beyond. The only reason not a 5 star is (1) we ended up working with someone other then Danielle day of and didn't know until the last minute. We had a holiday wedding so naturally assumed this might happen but it would have been nice to have a heads up. We felt the day-of team had less of a good idea of our vision. For example, they helped to place some of the centerpieces and decorations on the high tops and tables and we had to redo when we stopped by the venue to take pictures before the venue. Very poorly done. I would recommend just being very clear when working with them about what you want. (2) They didn't announce last call! Granted our wedding went until 2AM (New Year's) but they never announced last call at around 1:15 AM and were quite rude with our guests when they tried to get drinks because they were unaware. I didn't notice but I was really disappointed to hear that the next day. Also, your tip is included in the second payment so I felt like we had little agency. All in all, great food and planning experience but would recommend being very clear on your expectations for day of.

Big Burrito and Danielle were AWESOME for my recent November wedding. The guests raved about the food and service (especially the attentive bar tenders!) and I couldnt be happier with the planning. Danielle was so accommodating and understanding and put up with my constant emails and questions. Yes, they are not the least expensive option, but you get what you pay for-and I really wouldn't have chosen anyone else for my special day! We did 3 stations and passed appetizers-which was PERFECT! I cannot recommend big Burrito enough honestly. They catered our wedding a few weeks ago, and it was absolutely the best wedding food I've ever had! (Not that I'm biased at all haha) But seriously, I've gotten so many compliments on the food, and Danielle was so wonderful to work with. From the food servers to the bar tenders, everyone was so friendly and fun and truly added to the day. Love these guys!

My husband and I used Big Burrito for our Rehearsal Dinner and Wedding reception and they were aaaaaamazing. I'm vegan and my husband is vegetarian and Big Burrito put together an INCREDIBLE menu of vegetarian and vegan options that people RAVED about at both events. filling, nutritious, with more than enough protein! and aside from the taste of the food, Big Burrito was so professional, organized and prepared for the event. they made everything easy, and were super responsive and fantastic. we loved working with BB and highly recommend them to others, especially if you're vegan or vegetarian and having a hard time finding someone who can do that well!

My husband and I have always been fans of Big Burrito restaurants. It was no surprise then that our experience with the catering business was also a dream. We worked with Danielle and she was amazing--incredibly responsive, easy to work with and extremely knowledgable. Big Burrito will definitely cost you $$ but it was totally worth it and I'd book them 100x over. Our guests raved about the food at both cocktail hour and dinner. My only complaint is that apparently one of our bartenders wouldn't serve one of our pregnant guests Pepsi and insisted she get a juice instead? This seemed like an isolated incident though and I only found out about it later. Every staff member I encountered the night of was polite, eager to help and congratulated me on the wedding. Big Burrito also coordinated the additional chairs we had to rent which was not surprisingly very easy and stress-free on my end. Overall we had an amazing experience with Big Burrito in terms of food and service.

Hiring Big Burrito is a no brainer on the Pittsburgh wedding catering scene. They have delicious, diverse food that is MORE affordable than traditional bland catering. We worked with Danielle Cain, who was lovely and professional through many months of planning. We went with a stations dinner to accommodate our travel theme: pasta, Mexican and sushi with an antipasto table and fun appetizers including pierogies and tomato soup shooters. Our guests were raving about the food and I can personally attest that it was delicious. Thank you Danielle and Big Burrito!

Their food was amazing and made our wedding extra memorable. Daniele, our contact, provided amazing customers service. We had passed appetizers, a Mexican station, an Asian station, a pasta station, and a late night snack of sliders and mini grilled cheese. They also provided the Mad Mex carmel apple margarita for our signature cocktail. I wish I could eat my wedding food again; it was amazing and the event staff service was terrific.

Delicious, delicious, delicious!!!! Big Burrito offers endless menu choices from their multiple and highly acclaimed Pittsburgh restaurants. The staff is courteous and efficient. You won't be disappointed! Our guests still talk about the pork chops!

We went with the buffet option and were totally happy with it. They set everything up beautifully, bar service was splendid, and the cake and coffee went off without a hitch. Big catering is the preferred catered for the Children's Museum of Pittsburgh, which was the site of our reception. However, Big was our dream caterer before that because their restaurant group owns some of our favorite restaurants in Pittsburgh, like Mad Mex, Casbah, Umi, Soba, Kaya, etc. So we were so excited to work with them. The food was AWESOME at the wedding. We had a Mediterranean-like tapas spread for our cocktail hour (no passed hors d'vors), and then we had stations for the big meal. The stations were so fun! We had a Caribbean-themed carving station, a sushi station, and a saladtini salad bar station. Rave reviews from guests all around. And I personally loved that guests were up interacting with each other the whole night. They also put some things on the menu for me that weren't on the advertised menu! Like my dream, a chocolate fondue fountain (OMG so good). These guys are the pros. I'm not going to lie, catering is a huge expense for a wedding, but if there's one I learned, it's that you get what you pay for AND the first quote is the scariest. I know everyone's situation is different, but not everyone is going to RSVP to the wedding, and the number will come down! And I feel like the total we paid for Big was SO EXTREMELY REASONABLE for the amazing food and service we received (for 100 total guests in the end). Worth every penny. (Oh, and their bartenders mix up some mean drinks! ;)

While the food price is amazing they will literally charge you for every burner they are using. The rental fees are more than the food and when I questioned it never got another email. So glad I didn't sign a contract

Amanda Cressman worked closely with us--easy to contact via email as we didn't live in the area. Super delicious meal and everything looked gorgeous!

big Catering was another vendor that was part of our venue's wedding network but they were top on our list of caterers anyway. Amanda was so easy to work with and took care of so many details for me. I was provided with numerous options of varying prices as well. I love their restaurants and their catering did not disappoint. So many guests commented that it was the best wedding food they had ever had. The wait staff too was fantastic, our lead server made sure that my husband and I were always taken care of and had everything we needed. Excellent service and an excellent meal - for both our rehearsal and reception.

I can't say enough about Big Catering. Their food is amazingly delicious, and their staff is extremely professional. We used Big at our wedding reception at the National Aviary, and it was a true success. We chose to do several passed hors deurves and two food stations. Our guests LOVED it! So much better than a sit down dinner! Our guests were able to mingle with each other, try new foods, and keep going back for more. Big Catering's event planning staff is amazing. They helped me rent everything from linens to high-top cocktail tables to a black and white dance floor. They are fabulous!

I could not have asked for more delicious food to have at my wedding! It was so difficult deciding among the hundreds of wonderful hors d'oeuvres! There were tons of options for the stations and really helped to create a personalized feel to our menu. Wish I could go back and eat so much more that day:)

The food from Big Catering was fabulous! They are very flexible and offer selections from all of their restaurants in town (which also happen to be some of the BEST restaurants in Pittsburgh - Eleven, Kaya, Soba, Umi, Mad Mex) Our guests were very impressed with the food -- and it all tasted just as it had during our tasting! I have to say that Amanda from Big Catering was amazing to work with - she went above and beyond! Given that I had less than 4 months to plan, I relied on Amanda's advice for many things - and was SO happy with everything! The bartenders and servers were great! Couldn't have been happier!

Big was wonderful!!! The food was incredible (from Kaya) and the staff was fabulous!! They did everything exactly how we wanted it, very casual, and just perfect!

I knew I loved their food, but big Catering delivered big time at my wedding. The servers were everywhere without being annoying, and the head floorman always kept track of us and made sure that things ran super smooth. All of our guests agreed the food was the best they'd ever had at a wedding. Are they cheap? No, but it's worth every penny! It was no big deal to include more vegetarian or gluten free options. Would 100% recommend them.
