The Waves venue is a great location, right on the beach with accomodations for weather! The food was delicious! Our guests are still commenting how good the food was! And the bartenders were ACE! Denise, our banquet captain, made sure we were fed and taken care of! We could not have asked for a better day!

r day was perfect and stress free. The food was delicious, the staff was super attentive. The decor was absolutely beautiful. I couldn’t have asked for a better wedding day.

prior to our wedding. Once seeing the state of Cape Coral, and knowing the entire county was without water and power, we started making calls to every venue we could find in Pinellas County (closer to where we lived) and the Bilmar was not only the fastest to respond, but THE MOST accommodating group of people I have ever met. After talking to Krystn on the phone and conveying our situation, she talked with her team and FaceTimed me immediately to show me around the resort and possible locations for our reception. The resort itself was fully booked with guests and events for our wedding date, but that did not stop the Bilmar team from going above and beyond to make our wedding possible. Within a few hours, my finance and I drove down to the resort and were give a full tour of the spaces and guest rooms. Alicia, the front desk manager, worked some serious magic and was able to help us secure rooms for all of our guests - many who were coming from out of town and had various arrival/departure dates. The night prior to our wedding we had a rehearsal dinner at Sloppy Joe's - our servers and the manager were again extremely accommodating on very short notice and the food was DELICIOUS (the Cubans and lobster mac & cheese were amazing). We also ate breakfast here most mornings and always had great service and food. The day of our wedding could not have gone any better - Krystn and our coordinator made everything seamless. Our ceremony took place on the beach and was set up exactly how we had imagined it would be. I even made a huge mistake, and left my bouquet in my room and Krystn is actually the one who caught that I didn't have it - of course I didn't have a room key on me, so Krystn sprinted to grab a master key, to my room to grab my flowers, and back to me in time for me to make it down the aisle. After the ceremony, our reception took place on the Sun Deck - the set up was absolutely beautiful. Keep in mind, all of our original vendors were based 3 hours away, so we relied heavily on the Bilmar to help us make decisions on set up and utilize as many of their existing resources as possible - it was amazing what they were able to put together for us in just a couple of days. The food for the reception was also great - honestly better than the options from our original venue. All of our guests were happy, fed, and danced the night away! The bartender was also fantastic - we have a rowdy group and she kept up with us just fine, even was happy to oblige when we requested to extend the bar for an additional hour. Overall, our experience was wonderful. Everyone at the Bilmar made us feel like family and we can't wait to go back for a weekend staycation every now and then. If you are considering the Bilmar as a wedding venue, I highly recommend them! Not only was the staff great, but we found the rooms to be comfortable and pricing for all of our needs was very fair. We also had a chance of rain that day. But they were very accommodating and did everything they could to ensure we had our wedding outside on the beach. Our wedding coordinator Alyssa was perfect. She listed to everything we had to say and did everything she possibly could to help our day run smoothly. Bilmar Beach Resort, thank you for helping us have a perfect wedding!!

he catering manager Tara, we knew that the Bilmar was the perfect place for us to get married. From the beginning of our experience, Tara was professional, she provided us with great information and right away was able to break down how much the entire wedding from ceremony to reception could end up costing. Along with her great personality, we knew we found the right venue for us. From that moment on, Tara has helped us finalize our details and put is in the hands of one of the amazing catering coordinators Alyssa. Alyssa and I sorted out the final details together and she took charge of working with our vendors to make sure they knew who to contact if anything was needed. She truly made sure the entire wedding went without a hitch and helped me when I realized last minute some changes that needed to be made. Then the entire banquet staff also took care of each and every one of our wedding guests which made the entire night memorable. The food that Chef Bill made us was mouth watering and definitely worth every penny! Lastly, the entire Bilmar Beach Resort staff were incredibly helpful with our rooms and parking and any questions that we may end up having. We are eternally grateful to each and every employee at the Bilmar for making our weekend there a memorable one!

My advise for another bride doing this would be have a point person to tray and “set up” the table we normally would in the ‘burgh.

a Maria Island, but as soon as we stopped at the Bilmar we knew it was the one. From that day forward, Tara and Julie were so incredibly helpful. Planning from far away I was nervous about the communication - but they were both so responsive and made me feel 100% comfortable. I never had an email go unanswered, and I truly cannot thank them both enough! We booked a penthouse and then last minute (thank you Julie and front desk staff) booked another so that both parties would have a big room to get ready in and I'd highly suggest it.  We did have a small hiccup/communication mishap with welcome gift bags not being passed out to our guests, but the front desk staff fixed it by delivering them to each room. Alyssa was our day of coordinator, she ran everything perfectly! The wedding itself was exactly what we envisioned and more for our wedding day. We upgraded to water's edge for the ceremony as we wanted the beach background photos and to minimize the number of people walking through the background/pictures and would definitely recommend it. And the indoor/outdoor patio right on the beach is exactly what we wanted for the reception - the perfect beach vibe and having access to an air-conditioned room to cool down while grabbing a drink. We cannot say enough great things about the venue and staff & cannot wait to visit in the future!!

We chose a casual theme, but I feel that the staff and venue can accommodate your dreams! Our families are already planning next years gathering too! We were also able to have a Covid safe ceremony and reception, which allowed us to have the people most dear to us present with the peace of mind that they were safe.

things about our wedding experience at the Bilmar in February 2020- we know how lucky we got to get married right before a global pandemic! Tara, the wedding planner extraordinaire, is a dream to work with! Having a destination wedding (forgot to mention we live in Minnesota) can be stressful, especially for someone like me, and she was amazing! She answered emails...ALLLLL of them....right away. She made changes...ALLLL of them...without the slightest hint of annoyance. She gave amazing vendor suggestions and worked with us on anything we needed! There is literally nothing more we could have asked for from her! I know I could not have had the dream wedding I did without her. Incredible things come in small packages ;) Julie is also amazing to work with. We had 75 guests coming in from out of town and she worked with all of them...and most are pains in the ass! Any issues that came up or changes that needed to be made, she was on it. Multiple people commented on how easy she made booking a room! The Bilmar as a wedding venue was as close to perfect as one can (reasonably) get. To start ALL of the staff we have interacted with (both during the wedding week and the week we went down the month before the wedding) are incredible. They go out of their way to make your stay the best it can be and it shows. The location is perfect. RIGHT ON THE BEACH! It is also perfect for guests coming from out of town. About a $25 uber from the airport and then you never need to leave. On top of all the DELICIOUS restaurants/bars across the street, the 2 restaurants on property have amazing food- and you cant get a better location than Sloppy Joes (which also have reasonably priced food and drinks- especially considering the location! We had our rehearsal dinner with about 50 guests at Sloppy Joes. This is the ONLY time during the weekend things didn't go as planned. Even with Tara's extensive instructions there seemed to be some miscommunications. Well sh*t happens and they did everything in their power that night to make it right and thereafter. Nothing is ever going to go perfect- and we couldn't have asked for them to handle it better. Our wedding ceremony was perfect. The location cant be beat and Tara and the wedding coordinator are with you the entire time (they also wrangled the bridal party- and that deserves a medal in itself). The ceremony décor we used was all from the resort and was perfect. We had a reception of about 100 people at the beach café. It was AMAZING! I can not stress how perfect we (and our guests) thought the reception was. The fire pits are the perfect additional touch. The food was amazing (we did the Key West buffet) and having the indoor/outdoor space worked perfectly for our guests. Special shout out to Denise the banquet manager. She is a serious stand out rock star and we still talk about her a year later! Talk about going above and beyond in multiple ways on multiple days. All in all we can not say enough good things about the Bilmar, Tara, the entire staff and the amazing experience we had having our wedding there. Highly Recommended!!

Tara is amazing to work with and has an impeccable game plan for the wedding day. We made a few last minute changes with ease. We also moved our ceremony to water's edge, which takes the entire day up a notch-highly recommend. The food was great, most importantly the entire staff at the Bilmar became like family and everyone just had fun. e live in Orlando, I never waited long to get a response on random questions. She adapted to our wants and threw us the most fantastic wedding we could have imagined! Our day of Coordinator Alyssa was also an angel! She was so patient took care of all the things I forgot to plan and kept us on schedule. I would recommend these girls to any lucky bride! The staff was friendly and our room was gorgeous!! Not one complaint!

ere attentive and helpful since the beginning! We had our wedding there 01/25/2020 with about 150 people in the Cafe and Patio area. It was the only venue we could fins in the TI and St Pete area that had a venue with a beach level view of the beach. It was perfect for us as we took into consideration the beach view we wanted, no stairs, an easily accessible smoking area so the smokers weren't missing for 30 minutes, and enough area for children to run around and not bother the dance party! It was chilly out so we had the fire puts going as well and it was just beautiful! My family and friends raved about the ambiance and the food! We had the prime rib which is all made medium well and even though, we like medium rare, it was still very tender! We had a wine based sauced chicken as our 2nd entree. All the vendors that Tara recommended were wonderful as well! We would totally recommend this resort to anyone looking for a beach wedding. We had our rehearsal dinned which also was great on a private deck overlooking the beach at the restaurant attached to the Bilmar, Sloppy Joes. All the rooms were remodeled and super clean and our guests loved the resort! We wish we had another wedding to plan here! We will miss everyone at the Bilmar and cannot wait to stay there again! She was always so quick to respond to my many emails, and made all of my requests seem easy. I had decided I didn’t want to use the traditional wedding menu for dinner, rather I wanted to do a beach grillout buffet of hot dogs, hamburgers, bbq chicken, etc. Without hesitation she made that happen and it was exactly as I imagined! She truly cares about her clients and you can see how passionate she is about what she does. :) Julie managed our guest room block, and I’m not kidding when I say she’s the nicest person you’ll ever meet! Whether it was over email or phone she always treated me like an old friend :) and of course she made the whole room block process so easy with no issues whatsoever! Finally, Alyssa was our day of coordinator and she is AMAZING! She decorated our ceremony/reception and made it look absolutely flawless! She is so organized, detail oriented, and creative! She took all the stress out of the day and made it a breeze! :) Thank you so much to everyone at The Bilmar! Every single detail leading up to the event was thought out and nothing was forgotten. Every detail on the day of was perfect as well. Alyssa, our day of coordinator, was so organized and helped answer all of our questions on the day of and the days and weeks leading up to the wedding. She decorated everything perfectly for both the ceremony and reception. I had brought boxes and boxes of decor and had a specific vision in mind of what i wanted. It was as of Alyssa read my mind and set everything up perfectly. During the evening, Denise and the entire catering staff were amazingly attentive to every need of our guests. I couldn't have asked for a better venue, experience, and staff to work with. I would do an anniversary event next year at the Bilmar just to work with everyone again! Thank you!!
