The Birkby House can host a handful of events such as rehearsal dinners, weddings ceremonies, or receptions throughout its fabulous event spaces. With space for a maximum of 200 guests, there is more than enough room to invite all your loved ones. My husbands family decided to take on a new adventure after falling in love with the wedding business after planning our wedding in 2014! Since we have had an amazing adventure running the business and helping other couples celebrate there special day! We have 3 beautiful children, often referred to as the Birkby Mascots! We were SO happy with our choice of venue - not only is the property beautiful with lots of historic charm, but the teams at Birkby House and Tuscarora Mill (Birkby's exclusive caterer) were also incredible. Their head of catering, Neal, was a joy to work with. We loved that Birkby House has lots of different parts of the venue for guests and the wedding party to enjoy. From the on-site bride and groom suites, to the courtyard, to the main house, to the conservatory... It's a perfect place to celebrate your big day. Bonus points for being walking distance from downtown Leesburg.

Birkby House was the perfect venue for us! I loved the historic charm mixed with the bright, new conservatory. I also loved the convenience of the location and the relationship with Tuskies! Not to mention the beautiful landscaping. It felt like a little oasis right in the middle of downtown Leesburg! The team made us feel so comfortable and was so welcoming throughout the whole planning process. We had a chance of a storm come through during our ceremony, and the team quickly and efficiently made the switch from the outside ceremony to inside the conservatory with an hour til start time. Our pictures turned out so beautifully with the windows and bright lighting! I am so glad that we got married and Birkby and will recommend it to everyone! 💚

Originally posted a longer review with both positive and constructive aspects of our experience, but the venue reported our review – so reposting with The Knot’s “approved” edits.
• The Birkby House is a beautiful venue that has so much potential. We had a beautiful day with our family and friends thanks to our own meticulous planning and preparation, but our experience working with Carleigh at Birkby House was nothing short of unprofessional, frustrating, and unorganized. She bad-mouthed us to our other vendors on our wedding day, was rude or non-responsive to communications during planning, and acted extremely unprofessionally throughout our entire experience.
• There are several usage aspects of Birkby House that are not written in the contract. One example: there are no items (including people, yard games, tables, chairs) permitted on the grass – which makes up a large percentage of Birkby’s outdoor space. This is not noted anywhere in Birkby’s written contract, but is somehow enforced.
• Our event was scheduled on a Thursday from 11:00 am - 5:00 pm. Before the conclusion of our event, a different wedding party arrived at the venue for their rehearsal and Carleigh told our day-of coordinator (as she was rushing to clean up our event) that it was “embarrassing that all of your stuff is still here and the other party is arriving.”
• In our contracting process, we told Birkby House that we did not want to use the main house. Carleigh let us know that, regardless, all couples have access to the upstairs Bridal Suite for getting ready. During set-up, Carleigh informed us that she would be setting up tables and chairs in the main house to provide additional A/C space for guests as she was concerned about the heat, even though we said we wanted to direct them to the Conservatory if it was too hot outside. We were fine with that – until Carleigh complained multiple times to our day-of coordinator that we were “never even supposed to be inside the house.”
• We sent several planning questions via email to Carleigh, and generally received very short, unprofessional, and incomplete responses – if our communication was even acknowledged. Two weeks before our event, we sent an email to our vendors with several questions for clarifications. Carleigh did not acknowledge or respond to that email.
• Weeks before our event, we (with our day-of coordinator) met with Birkby House as required. Carleigh had no questions or agenda items to discuss with us and sat across the table from us actively discussing and working through logistics for another event, which was quite rude and unprofessional.
• While the venue rental includes use of tables and chairs, the venue does not have a list of inventory to reference as couples build their layout / floor plan. We asked multiple times what types/sizes/quantities of tables, chairs, and umbrellas were available for our use, and the answer we were given was, “we have plenty.” We had to send multiple emails to get an answer about inventory, even after two in-person meetings.

Truly could have imagined getting married anywhere else! The Birkby house is a dream venue! The house is so charming and the conservatory is stunning - especially at night! Our guests were raving at how much they loved the Birkby House - we couldn’t recommend enough!

Birkby House and Tuskies were an absolute dream team! From the moment we arrived on site for our first tour, we knew this venue was something special. Carleigh, Neal, and all the staff at Birkby House and Tuskies were fabulous to work with and were exceptionally communicative, which made the entire planning process smooth and stress free. In collaboration with our planner Tara, at Clover Hill Events, the vender team made our wedding day an absolute dream. Our guests could not stop raving about the beautiful grounds, the stunning conservatory and the exceptionally tasty food from Tuskies. Rain or shine, high winds or bright, sunny skies, Birkby House is the perfect location for your wedding day. We cannot thank the team at Birkby House enough for making our wedding day so perfect!

We had our wedding at Birkby House in April 2024, and it was the perfect venue for our 100-person wedding! From start to finish, the entire process was enjoyable and stress-free, thanks to Carleigh and the incredible team at Birkby House. They were extremely helpful, providing all the necessary information and assisting in coordinating the day’s events seamlessly.
Our wedding weekend was amazing and we wouldn't have changed a thing! Tuskies Catering was delicious, our guests couldn't stop raving about the hors d'oeuvres, and the dinner service was on time and efficient. The venue itself is absolutely gorgeous. We took advantage of the beautiful flowering trees in the courtyard for our wedding portraits, which turned out stunning. The historic house was a perfect place for guests to hang out during cocktail hour, and we didn't have to include many decorations since the house is maintained and decorated tastefully already. The new conservatory is beautiful and was the perfect place for the reception. And of course - continuing the party a few feet away in downtown Leesburg was the icing on the cake! We are so glad we picked Birkby for our wedding!

The Birkby House was the perfect wedding venue! The location is ideal being downtown Leesburg. The grounds and space are beautiful and elegant. The space was ideal for both our ceremony and reception, offering a wonderful balance of intimacy and sophistication. Carleigh and Kristin and the entire staff went above and beyond to make our day run smoothly. From the very beginning, they were incredibly helpful and responsive during the planning process, ensuring everything was flawless and stress-free. Their professionalism and attention to detail truly set them apart. They listened to our questions and requests and showed receptiveness and flexibility to meet our needs.
If you're looking for a gorgeous venue with an amazing team to support you, look no further! It was everything we hoped for and more!

I cannot say enough good things about Birkby House and the team. We were so luck to happen across this venue and believe we we searched! (12+ locations). We decided on Birkby becuase of the flexibility and kindest of the team from the moment we set up a tour. There were no silly questions or outlandish requests. The team was accommodating and supportive leading up to the event and always responsive. Our wedding day was exceptional and went off without a hitch.
The venue is stunning and worth every penny alone, but when you consider the incredible benefit of being able to get ready on site and the seller accommodations they have for both spouses, plus the variety of spaces and flexibility of event set up and inclement weather options, its a no brainier. They are very generous and flexible with time spent at the venue as well.
I would recommend Birkby to everyone in a heartbeat and wish I could do it all over again.
I do not have many pictures back from our day yet, but have included a few to give a sense of the vibe and scale of event. Fall at Birkby is exquisite. (We planned for 180, but ended up closer to 160).

Carleigh, Kristin, and the entire team at Birkby House and Tuscarora Mill truly exceeded our expectations. Despite planning our wedding within a relatively short time frame, the day was absolutely perfect. The vendors recommended by the Simply Royal Events team were fantastic and complemented the day beautifully.
One of the standout features of Birkby House is its excellent rain plan, which provided us with so much peace of mind—especially since Tropical Storm Debbie came through the week of our wedding. Knowing we were prepared for any weather made all the difference and allowed us to enjoy the day stress-free.
I wholeheartedly recommend hosting your wedding at Birkby House and working with Simply Royal Events for the planning. Their expertise and professionalism made the entire process smooth and enjoyable. I can't recommend them enough for making our special day everything we dreamed of and more!

My husband and I got married at the Birkby House in October of 2024 and it was the best day ever! Seriously though! We booked our date in August of 2023, but the communication between Carleigh and Neal was clear and consistent! The food was excellent (all events at Birkby require you to use their caterer, Tuskies), and our guests are still raving about the quality of the food. It was also really nice to have the flexibility to provide our own alcohol and create our own signature cocktails. We would do it all over again!

Stunning venue! The new conservatory is absolutely stunning with the gold fixtures and the floor to ceiling windows. The bridal and groom suites are the prefect place to get ready. And the venue staff are such a pleasure to work with. The venue is in the heart of downtown Leesburg so plenty of options for a wedding after party. Highly recommend this venue!

The Birkby House was the perfect venue for our wedding. The charm is to die for and we were lucky enough to get to experience the brand new conservatory. Carleigh was incredible as a liaison and communication was great. She answered all emails, always was available to meet or answer questions and sprung to help the morning of my very hot wedding to make sure the AC in the bridal suite was turned on. Everyone loved the house, the courtyard and the conservatory. Thank you Birkby House!

Everything about our Birkby House wedding was perfect. The staff were incredibly helpful through the whole planning process, quick to answer questions, and flexible with requests. The food and rental (linen, table settings, etc.) decision making was really easy and fun , and everything turned out amazing/delicious. Staff offered helpful ideas and worked well with our other vendors. The house itself is beautiful and perfect for getting ready. And the new glass conservatory that replaced the tent is an incredible reception space! Staff on the actual wedding day were all great and things went seamlessly without me or my husband having to even really notice. All our guests were so impressed with everything and kept telling us what a magical wedding it was. I'm certain that choosing Birkby House had a big part of that impression and I'm so thankful to everyone involved that helped make our day so special.

Birkby, Tuskies, and Simply Royal Events were our dream vendor team! You can stop your venue search - if you're considering Birkby at all, you have to book them! The moment we first visited Birkby, we knew it was our venue. The property was the perfect size for our 85 person wedding in June 2023. We were able to hold our reception in Birkby's brand new, gorgeous conservatory. We visited a few other venues in Leesburg, but Birkby was an easy choice. The property at Birkby is so much better maintained than any other venue we visited. It's also already perfectly decorated so we didn't feel like we needed to bring much in. Importantly, Carleigh and Kristin (who both manage Birkby and were our day of coordinators via Simply Royal Events) took great care of us through the process of booking and planning our big day. We never felt "lost in the shuffle" as we feared we might if we booked at another venue. Neal at Tuskies was also amazing to work with. The entire catering team was so professional and thoughtful throughout our entire wedding day, making sure we had food and drinks at all times. Our guests are still raving about the food to this day! We are so glad we picked Birkby for our wedding.

I was looking for a place where I could do both ceremony and reception at a same place. When I visited the site, I knew instantly that this was the place I wanted. It was private all day for us, the house is very cozy, and there was bridal suite, and groom suite and it was spacious for big parties. My wedding was in late November, worried a little about the weather. But they had an outdoor patio heater as well as heater inside the tent to make everybody stay warm!! And you don't have to worry about finding a catering because they have the best catering team from Tuskies. Neal, the director of Private Events, helped me a lot when choosing meal options because I was being picky on food choices since my guests were serious about the food. really. Neal was even surprised when I gave him honest feedback on my trial dinner, that he never heard negative feedback before. But on the wedding day, I was thrilled as soon as I bite the salmon. It was SOOOOO GOOD! All my families and guests complimented on salmon and prime rib that they were so fresh and juicy! The food was definitely memorable to our guests. Thank you. I will visit Tuskies soon with my hubby for salmon and prime rib again since we were so nervous, we couldn't eat it more!

The Birkby House was the very first wedding venue we toured and we knew immediately that no other venue would compare. We could picture the whole event in our heads when we toured the space with Carleigh, and our vision ended up turning out better than we could have imagined. The entire venue is so unique and charming, both inside and out. Our October wedding was on the small side with about 60 guests attending, and the space didn’t feel to small or too large for us. The Birkby House feels like a true gem tucked away in downtown Leesburg and really was the most perfect intimate, and special space for our wedding day. Carleigh was so helpful throughout the whole process, answering our questions and providing vendor recommendations when we felt stuck. We were in the best of hands from start to finish and received so many compliments from our guests after the event. Would hands down recommend the Birkby House to anyone looking for the perfect venue!

When we first visited Birkby House in May 2021 looking for wedding venues, I instantly knew by the immediate excitement on my now wife's face that Birkby House was the winner! Carleigh and Neal (Director of Private events at Tuscarora Mill who handled catering) were great to work with and very accommodating throughout the entire process. Fast forward to October 2022, we were lucky enough to have perfect fall weather to highlight the perfect setting for our reception. The house, the grounds, the tent, the staff, the food and drinks - everything was perfect! If you're looking for an ideal location away from DC, but still close enough to the airport, hotels, and walking distance to restaurants + nightlife, look no further! We had around 150 guests and had plenty of space in and outside the tent - everyone kept commenting on how great of a venue Birkby House was for our special day. We would highly recommend it and everyone at Birkby House for your special day too!

Highly, highly recommend Birkby House to any couple looking for a wedding venue. It was absolutely perfect! I toured many venues in the area and ultimately went with Birkby house because I loved the charm, beautiful outdoor space, great layout/flow for entertaining and the built in rain plan if I couldn’t have my ceremony outside and I’m SO happy with my decision. From the very start all the way to the day of my wedding, working with Carleigh and the rest of the Birkby team was a dream. They were so easy to work with, responsive, helpful and helped to calm my nerves and stress. They are absolute professionals, which is such an important factor in wedding planning, that can’t be understated. When the wedding day got close and I was stressed about it being cold, The Birkby team made sure the fireplaces would be on inside the house and the tent heated so everyone would be comfortable. The house, the gardens, and the tent all looked so beautiful on my wedding day. Working with Tuskies as the caterer for Birkby was also amazing, and one less thing I had to worry about. Neal and his team at Tuskies are the best and make the planning process seamless. My guests raved about how delicious all the food was. Birkby allowed me to have my dream wedding and I couldn’t recommend it more!

Birkby House provided a beautiful and varied setting for the many events of our wedding day. The setting of the house and grounds was beautiful for our sparkling garden party; guests and the bridal party alike enjoyed both the interior and exterior spaces. Birkby House’s established relationships with a wide variety of local vendors gave us plentiful options during our planning as well as kept every aspect of the day itself running smoothly and professionally. Even though our weather was perfect, Birbky House communicated strong contingency plans that gave us confidence that our wedding would still be beautiful, utilizing the uniqueness of the property in the case of inclement weather. We got compliments all night about how wonderful this historic venue was. Not only is it beautiful, but it's logistically great too. There are stylish spaces for brides and grooms (or brides and brides or grooms and grooms!) to get ready separately. Carleigh was a dream to work with and also super knowledgable about options in the Leesburg area for vendors and after party locations. We felt completely taken care of and were not stressed at all. The day of, everything was handled and we were able to just relax and enjoy! The courtyard is gorgeous, the tent is gorgeous, and the inside of the house is gorgeous, too. Our guests were raving about it all night. There are also multiple hotels within one mile, making it really easy for our out of town guests. We opted to hire a shuttle bus to run between the hotel and the venue and because the distance was so short, it was really affordable and easy to coordinate! I cannot say enough wonderful things about Birkby House. Our wedding was easy, fun, and SO beautiful. Literally perfect! Thank you!!

My wife and I had our wedding here in May of 2022.
Simply put, it was the best day of our lives.
We really appreciate everything Carleigh (Manager at the Birkby House) and those at the Birkby House did to help make our dreams come true on our wedding day.
The venue was absolutely stunning and magical. We had to pinch ourselves a few times to make sure we weren't dreaming! We couldn't have imagined a better day. It exceeded our wildest expectations.
Researching, booking, and planning a wedding reception was a big decision for us, and we didn't know what we were getting into....but Carliegh made the process incredibly easy and we are extremely grateful for that.
The pictures and description we found on the Knot were unbelievable. We were so thankful that Carleigh allowed us to put a hold on our planned wedding date as soon as we contacted her/Birkby. We fell in love with the venue on our initial visit...and we both walked away from the initial visit feeling very happy knowing that Carleigh was our main point of contact. It was really comforting to meet her face to face and to know that we were dealing with a human being as opposed to a big business that doesn't understand the value of making things as easy-going as possible.
We were super excited to hear that Birkby had an exclusive catering partnership with Tuscarora Mill Restaurant (Tuskies). We are extremely thankful that we didn't have to go find our own caterer. There is no way we could have found a better or more professional caterer than Tuskies. Neal (Director of Private Events @ Tuskies) is so easy and great to work with. Every part of the service was top notch. The staff, hor-devours, entrees, the bar...everything! Everyone loved the food!
The flexibility of allowing us to bring our own alcohol was a huge bonus! That being said, my wife and I don't know anything about bartending...so it was really cool that Tuskies was able to provide the mixers :-)
Carleigh/Birkby House & Neil/Tuskies - Thank you again for all of your support in helping us make our reception an unforgettable experience. Each stage of the process, from our initial outreach, to the reservation/booking, to the walk-thru (which we absolutely loved your time and support with!!), to the day-of....the entire time, we felt so lucky to celebrate our big day at the Birkby House.

Birkby House stole my heart from the moment I saw it! Between the beautiful decor and charm inside to the stunning patio and tent, it was an incredible venue! Carleigh and Kristin from Simply Royal Events for Day of Coordinating were absolutely amazing. They took charge of communicating with vendors, organizing the rehearsal and managing every aspect of the wedding day from processional, to making sure me and my now husband got a drink and a plate of food to ourselves before entering cocktail hour, to telling us when and where to be to stay on track but also allowing us to completely enjoy the night. I cannot say enough amazing things about Birkby House and it’s team. I would recommend this venue a thousand times over. It was the most perfect day.

When you think about your wedding it’s supposed to be the best day of your life and both my husband and I can honestly say it was!!! Birkby House is a beautiful venue that was incredibly flexible with us. Unfortunately we had nonstop rain the entire weekend and had to move our ceremony under the tent and the Birkby team made that change smooth and easy for us! The ceremony ended up looking great even without using the courtyard. We didn’t have to worry about a thing and they handled it all. The process with Tuskies was smooth and I received a ton of compliments on how great the food was. The entire vendor team worked together fantastic! Carleigh and Kristin were responsive and helpful and patient with all my questions leading up to our wedding day. If we could do the day all over again I would pick Birkby a million times over!!

I was married this past weekend at birkby house, its worth every penny. I picked this house after seeing the gorgeous home, patio, and tent w/ draping and lights. Its almost set up to hardly need any decorations apart from your flowers on the tables. With that said you are also given a list of trusted vendors to work with, my DJ (Romin Zandi) was simply perfect and my florist was while affordable had the most stunning flowers it was exactly what I hoped for. The birkby house always only works w/ the Tuscarora Mill Restaurant, Neal the head of catering is not only fun to chat w/ the was helpful and put out amazing food. I had compliments from my guest all night when it came to the location, food and the staff/vendors.

We chose to have our rehearsal dinner at Birkby House, and we were so very pleased with the outcome. The night was a bit chilly for a September evening, but the tent was very warm and cozy during dinner. We were able to play music through their speakers, and food provided by Tuscarora Mill was absolutely delicious. Thank you for hosting our beautiful rehearsal dinner, Birkby House!

The Birkby House was a magical place to get married. Every inch of the venue is gorgeous - From the colonial Birkby House itself to the gardens and the brick courtyard and, last but not least, the beautiful white tented courtyard featuring chandeliers and specialty lighting. The venue was a great value and included all of our "must-have" items: exclusive use of the entire venue on our big day; on-site bridal and groom suites; free on-site parking for guests; our puppy was allowed to be a part of our ceremony; we were allowed to bring in our own alcohol; award-winning catering with Tuscarora Mill restaurant; chairs, tables, tent, dance floor, and umbrellas provided; and a beautiful rain day plan (which we ending up having to use and loved!) The rain definitely didn't take away from the beauty of our big day. We also had the pleasure of working with Carleigh, our venue site manager, who was extremely professional, detail-oriented, and helpful throughout the planning process and on the day of. We consider ourselves very blessed to have been married at the Birkby House, and cannot thank the Birkby House team enough for working with us throughout the intricacies of COVID to make our 2021 wedding day both safe and perfect!

We had an amazing experience working with Birkby House. From the beginning as we searched for a venue, we had a lot of frustrations with people being indirect or overly vague and manipulative in their communications with us so the first thing that attracted us to Birkby was how straightforward their communication was. They were direct and honest about their availability and pricing and quick to respond. We felt safe with them and like they weren’t trying to take advantage of us. The whole planning process with them was seamless and the wedding day went off without a hitch. The venue even let us borrow some decor items and dessert platters so we didn’t have to buy our own. Not a single complaint from us! 10/10 recommend!

We had a great time with Birkby as our venue. It's such a beautiful place all on its own that it made decorating a breeze. You have to go with one of two caterers, but they have great food and they were also really good to work with. They were flexible with us and answered all of our questions. We had a great day!

We could not have asked for a better venue for our wedding day! The Birkby House was perfect for what we were hoping to find in a wedding venue. There was ample room to get ready for all members of the bridal party the morning of the wedding and so many of our guests commented on the beautiful appearance of the house, courtyard, and decorated tent. In addition to the venue itself being a beautiful setting, the people you work with at Birkby House and their sister catering company (Tuscarora Mill) are incredibly helpful and help ease the stress of wedding planning by a ton - thank you to both Carleigh and Neal! Carleigh helped us in selecting the venue and was always available for any questions we had along the way. She also made Birkby House available to us as a meeting place for our planning meetings with our day-of-coordinator, which we found to be very generous. Neal did an excellent job in planning and organizing the catering portion of the wedding. He is impeccably organized and was available to attend our planning meetings to offer suggestions and help us make selections from the number of tables required all the way down to the napkin color and style. And most importantly, our guests loved the food! We cannot say enough positive things about our experience working with everyone at both Birkby House and Tuscarora Mill to make our wedding day so special! We highly recommend Birkby House as a wedding venue!

Birkby House was the most amazing venue for our October wedding. Upon touring the property and speaking with Carleigh, we knew that it would be perfect. Everyone I spoke to was understanding and flexible. They answered all of my questions and updated me about the Covid Restrictions throughout the process. They truly made me feel like our wedding was of the utmost importance and the only event they were hosting.
We held our wedding ceremony at a nearby Catholic Church, so Birkby House was used for our Cocktail Hour & Reception. We were able to get ready at Birkby House in the morning, before heading to the church and upon our arrival everything was setup and ready to go. Cocktail Hour on the patio was a perfect way for our guests to mingle before the tent opened for dinner service. All of our guests had the most amazing time and raved about the food and service from Tuscarora Mill. After the reception ended, some guests walked to Downtown Leesburg and continued the party. Honestly, if I had to do it all again, I wouldn’t change a single thing. Thank you, Birkby House, for making my wedding dreams a reality.

We booked the Birkby House as our "destination wedding" (3.5 hours away from home) because of the beautiful tent, the historic house, and the glowing reviews about Carleigh and Kristin. All three were worth the hype - the tent was gorgeous and fit our 120 guests perfectly (we had the DJ inside, the bartenders inside, cookie table inside, dance floor, long head table + 120 guests at 14 tables in case you're considering it as your venue and want a point of reference). We got married on August 21st so we worried about the heat but the house was well air conditioned (guests could come in and out as they pleased) and the tent cools down after dark (but if you are looking for a 65 degree air conditioned tent in VA, I don't think it exists). Carleigh handled everything flawlessly without bothering me once - she fielded guests' questions, brougth me drinks, bustled my dress, kept me on schedule and even poured guests' wine at dinner. Kristin did a ton of behind-the-scenes work by hand-writing our seating chart on a giant glass window, creating our 'special drinks' sign and helping to set up the entire tent for our wedding. We had an amazing experience at the Birkby House and would recommend it to anyone.

We celebrated my daughter and son in law's wedding at Birkby house and could not have been happier. The venue was beautiful and the opportunity to be both inside or outside was fabulous. The staff was professional and extremely competent, always going out of their way to provide what our guests needed. The food was delicious, the catering was spot on and working with Neal from the Tuscarora Mill was easy and made the process effortless. The garden feel was so wonderful and all of our guests from ages four to eighty were comfortable and had a wonderful time. As the mother of the bride I was able to really enjoy my daughter's special day--I would highly recommend Birkby House as a wedding venue.

This is where you NEED to get married. Carleigh and Neal are fantastic. They heard what I wanted and made it happen. They worked easily with all of my other vendors and made sure my requests were met. The food was out of this world delicious and the staff were so much fun. My guests are still talking about how this was the best wedding ever and that is all thanks to the Dream team over at Birkby House. Thank you SO much!

I cannot recommend The Birkby House more for someone planning a wedding! It is a beautiful historic manor in the heart of downtown Leesburg, VA and it offers perfect locations for photos. Carleigh and Neal were amazing to work with and were always responsive to any questions we had, especially during the uncertainty with COVID and having to reschedule our special day. All of our guests raved about the food and how beautiful the grounds were. It was the best day of my life and I cannot thank Carleigh and Neal enough. 11/10!

Beautiful venue! We postponed our wedding from 06/13/2020 to 04/10/2021 and Carleigh and Neal were absolutely amazing to work with through the craziness of planning during a pandemic. The day could not have been more amazing and the venue has so many beautiful areas for photos. Also located right in downtown Leesburg, walking distance to other bars and restaurants! Could not recommend this venue enough!!

We visited Birkby House and immediately knew we wanted to have our wedding there. It has a classy, historic charm that our guests loved. The venue is simply beautiful even without decor and it was easy to add decor for our style. There are so many great places for pictures. We loved having everything in one place, which made it easy for guests. I cannot say enough positive things about Carleigh and her team, especially Neal with Tuskie's. They were so flexible with everything throughout the pandemic. I can't imagine a more beautiful venue at such an affordable price!

We originally picked this venue for its intimate, historic charm. Birkby House...did not disappoint...everything was spectacular. During the planning...they were very helpful and responsive. The bridal suite was spacious and plenty of space for hair/makeup. The house, the grounds, and the tent were beautiful. Also...the tent comes with beautiful draping and chandeliers. Catering from Tuskies was outstanding! Everyone loved the food and the venue.
But the silver lining was...during the difficulty of a covid wedding...we were so so happy we had selected this private venue...they bent over backwards to be understanding and flexible to ensure my daughter had a happy wedding.

After having to move my wedding 3 different times, and eventually giving up on the original plan itself, Birkby House stepped in and helped my plan my wedding within a month with absolute ease. The venue is gorgeous, the staff is kind and so understanding. In a time of COVID, I never thought that my perfect wedding was going to happen, but it did and I couldn't be more thankful. I couldn't give enough stars for the Birkby House.

My husband and I got married in April 2020 - during Coronavirus. I cannot say enough good things about Birkby House and Carleigh Malone. We had a small wedding planned of about 45 guests, which we had to adjust at the last minute due to the VA mandate of no more than 10-person gatherings. On our planned April wedding date, we had beautiful intimate ceremony on the Birkby House grounds with just our children. The Birkby House even surprised us with a complimentary bottle of champagne and a cake. We decided to push our reception to October 2020, which we recently cancelled - also due to on-going Coronavirus concerns. Carleigh and her staff were so flexible with us and accommodating during such a challenging time. As we did not use the venue as originally intended and due to the pandemic, Birkby House offered us a refund. The venue itself is absolutely gorgeous and is set right in downtown Leesburg. I would highly recommend this venue, not only for the beautiful setting both inside the House and the grounds, but for the exceptional care you will receive from the Birkby House staff.

Intimate. Classy. Affordable.
When I first got engaged, I was overwhelmed at the thought of securing a venue that could accommodate ~130 guests while still maintaining an intimate vibe. As if that wasn’t specific enough, I also needed something that wouldn’t break the bank. Birkby House not only delivered, but far exceeded every single one of my husband and I’s expectations.
For starters, the grounds are naturally stunning and very well maintained. The courtyard is ornate with a gazebo, koi pond, and lots of lighted shrubbery (thus not requiring a ton of extra décor - win!). Everything was also in peak bloom when my husband and I got married, which saved us a ton of money on incremental floral arrangements. The venue also had several parking options, which our guests very much appreciated!
Another selling point for us was the climate-controlled reception tent. The chandeliers and perimeter lighting looked so elegant at night and our guests had ample room to dance the night away. The tent is also Birkby’s inclement weather contingency plan. Although we were fortunate to have great weather, the tent is so beautiful that I wouldn’t have been too upset if we had to use it as “Plan B” for our ceremony.
The manor house is also very charming and had lots of space for our guests to mingle. The upstairs featured separate bridal and groom suites, as well as a terrace that was great for pictures. I especially LOVED all the natural lighting in the bridal suite and bathroom, as it was crucial for the makeup artists and photographers.
As for the staff, Carleigh and Kristin are nothing short of superheroes. They are both extremely professional, responsive, and knowledgeable about the venue. Birkby does require a day-of coordinator, so when I learned they also offered day-of services through Simply Royal Events, booking them was a no-brainer. They went above and beyond to ensure everything ran smoothly and on schedule. To be honest, I don’t think I would have survived wedding planning if it wasn’t for them!
After the wedding, we received SO many compliments from friends and family about Birkby House. Even though the Town of Leesburg has a noise ordinance in effect at 10pm, almost everyone we talked to thought it was the perfect amount of time to celebrate. For those guests that wanted to continue the party post-reception, they had plenty of options to choose from within walking distance from the venue.
Overall, choosing Birkby was the easiest and best decision we made throughout the entire planning process. I hope one day I can attend a wedding here so I can re-live my experience all over again 😊
