Bj’s is one of our local caterers. They do a lot of events & are highly known around town. We didn’t question who we wanted to caterer our wedding. The food was amazing and we also had them do a few desserts different from cupcakes. Everything was delicious and we had great feedback from our guests also!

I couldn’t recommend BJ’s enough. Besides having mouth watering food, they have incredible customer service and are truly genuine and want the best for your day. We dropped off a check for our upcoming wedding and they invited us to attend a wedding show the next day, even though we had already booked with them. We declined since our wedding is already planned but they said if we came they would give us $500 credit towards our bill and an extra appetizer or late night snack. Of course we went. They ended up upgrading our main courses per our request as well, just wanting to give us exactly what we wanted for our day. Which was also a huge savings as the upgrades are the pricey options and our wedding is very large. They didn’t have to even tell us about the wedding show, since they already had our business, but they gave us that extra savings anyway. These people are passionate about what they do and truly want your day to be perfect and will work with you to make that happen.

We hired BJ’s catering for our wedding at Sonshine barn in Gaylord. The food was AMAZING! We had so many guests compliment on how delicious the food was. We even had guests go as far to say that it was the best food they had ever had at a wedding. I highly recommend the bacon wrapped shrimp and spinach and artichoke dip for appetizers and the beef tenderloin is incredible as an entree. If you are getting married in northern Michigan, BJ’s is a great catering service, they will not disappoint.

BJ’s went above and beyond for our wedding day! We did a bbq buffet that did not disappoint. They helped set up the tables including the napkins. They even helped my husband and me with our plates when we went up to the buffet (a special accommodation we didn’t know about!) The food was amazing and we heard so many compliments from our guests. They did a great job keeping up with the appetizers and even though we were off taking photos they made sure we had a plate of appetizers sitting at our spots! Couldn’t have asked for better service! Highly recommend!

Bj's did a great job with our wedding! I had a vision of exactly what I wanted for the food at our wedding and they made it happen! Ronda was great to work with, she was very prompt with communication and made sure everything was in order and went as planned on the day of!

BJ’s went above and beyond for my wedding. From the food tasting months before the wedding the head chef was so nice and friendly giving us a wide variety of food to try. They were able to make GF dishes for 2 of my guests. Susan was so accommodating and easy to work with regarding everything! The food is amazing and everyone went up for seconds.

BJ's catered our wedding 10/27/18 at Jordan Valley Barn. We had a great experience with them. We heard nothing but great feedback from our guests on how delicious the food was. I had a lot of questions and changed things multiple times throughout the process and Susan was very responsive and helpful with every little change. She was always easy to get a hold of and had great suggestions when it came to serving sizes and her previous experiences with the number of guests we had. When we did our tasting everyone went out of their way to make sure things went well for us and Sean (chef) was wonderful and very easy to talk to. I would highly recommend them to anyone considering!

BJ's catered our wedding on November 3rd at Castle Farms, and breakfast the next day at our hotel. We were hooked from the very first tasting! The food was absolutely amazing (still enjoying leftovers!) The staff was friendly, professional, and went above and beyond for our guests. Susan Hellenberg is a true gem! She was always quick to respond, kind, and very helpful. BJ's even took a recipe we gave them and made it for our reception!! BJ's caters quite a few weddings at our venue and we enjoy having them as their staff are always professional. Our brides and wedding planners comment on how good their food is and for us, as a wedding venue, they are easy to work with. I would highly recommend BJ's to any bride looking for a caterer for her wedding!

We are very happy that we booked BJ's for our Catering needs at Jordan Valley Barn. Our guests absolutely loved the food, and we got lots of comments about how delicious it was! There are a few reasons I gave a 4/5 stars. Susan was great at communication and keeping in touch, but she was very black and white. I will admit, we started off on the wrong foot. I called and got a quote in March, but didn't book the services right away because our wedding was still over a year and a half away and we were still saving up for deposits and everything. When we called in June (3 months later) to get everything set in stone, Susan told us that there was a new "service charge" added to all quotes. The service charge was $1000. $1000!! That is a lot of money! When you are getting a quote for 200 people, that is an extra $5 per plate! I was so upset because we had known all along that we wanted BJ's but waited to book - my mistake! I asked if there was absolutely anything they could do, or if we could meet in the middle somewhere - I had already gotten a quote, if they would have called and told me, "hey, you have to make your decision before May otherwise there will be a $1000 increase" - we would have booked in a heart beat! NOPE, couldn't do it! I ended up sending Ronda - the owner of BJ's, an e-mail explaining our situation and how much we had been looking forward to having BJ's cater our wedding. I never heard back from Ronda, but the next day, Susan called and they had an offer, I could forfeit the appetizers and they wouldn't charge me the $1000, or I could keep the appetizers and pay $500 instead of $1000. We opted to keep the appetizers. Nice of them to meet us in the middle somewhere! But from then on out, I felt like I had a black cloud over my head, like I caused a problem and I was more of a burden - not a good feeling when you're spending so much money, but I guess it was worth it to know we were going to get good food! Bj's also tells you that you can keep all of the left overs and they will box up some appetizers for the wedding couple since they will not be there for that part of dinner. They did box up our left overs, but we had 14 people short of our final guest count and there was no way there was enough food left over for 14 guests! Also, we did not get any appetizers left for us. I guess that says 1 of 2 things, either our guests loved the food so much that they really did some damage and there wasn't much left over or they didn't leave all of the left overs. Like I said, day of wedding service and food would get 5 stars. It was just a few small details that upset us a little bit along the way. If you're considering booking BJ's for your catering needs, I KNOW your guests will be pleased - the food was perfect! Just be prepared for bumps along the way!

If you’re having a wedding up north, I highly recommend BJs! We had our wedding at Jordan Valley Barn and they recommended BJs to us! We had our taste testing in February and the food was to die for! At the wedding, we had nothing but compliments on how delicious the food was! I don’t think a single person complained! Everything was fresh and phenomenal. My only change would be to have had more bbq bacon wrapped shrimp. We had 200 for a 200 person wedding and those were gone instantly! Bonus, we got to keep all the leftover food we had! Thank you BJs for making our wedding even more phenomenal!!!

Our daughter's wedding was June 23, 2018. Her reception in the East Garden Room at Castle Farms was special for many reasons, not the least of which was BJ's phenomenal catering service which exceeded all our expectations. Not only did they deliver exactly what was selected, they also upgraded our meat selection to filet mignon at no extra charge. The appetizer table was beautifully arranged as we discussed and their bartending service was prompt and professional. The entree selection was served timely and the the food and service were "Country Club" level quality. Their catering coordinator Susan Hellenberg worked very closely with us to make sure that we were aware of all the options and choices available well in advance and did a phenomenal job in making sure everything was delivered to our expectations. They are quality and value all the way. I highly recommend them as they will make your special day much more special than you could ever imagine!

My husband an I can’t say enough great things about Bj’s catering! They were so amazing to work with and the food was fantastic!!!! Everyone loved the food you could definitely tel that they put their time and effort into making it perfect!!! So grateful to have worked with them!

We had an amazing experience with BJ’s Catering. Susan was very friendly, enthusiastic, and attentive to all our needs! She thought of everything! Then, we had a surprise upgrade on our meat option for our plated dinner 2 days before our wedding! We were blessed with the head chef cooking for our reception! He wanted to do that for us! 😁 I would highly recommend BJ’s catering services. The bartenders were excellent and professional as well. All the staff were too notch! BJs was the best choice! Their chicken Alfredo and buffalo chicken dip were the highlight of our wedding! The bartenders were lovely, the food was delicious, they were SO pleasant to work with, they were accommodating and went above and beyond to help us out on our wedding night.

We used BJ's off of several recommendations and were not disappointed. Elizabeth was fantastic to work with - she always responded quickly, put up with thousands of questions from me, and made sure I had all of the information I didn't think of for the wedding. Their service and food were absolutely wonderful! Their team was efficient, knew what they were doing and incredibly pleasant throughout the whole process - from the tasting to he ceremony itself. They provided services I wouldn't have even through of that were such a nice touch - they had someone serving my husband and I during the ceremony, everything was set and ready to go ahead of time... I didn't worry or think twice about anything. The food was amazing - I was so impressed with all of the menu options they offered and everything was absolutely delicious!!! I cannot recommend them enough - they are professional, pleasant, know what they are doing, so buttoned up and just such a fantastic experience!!! Every single part of wording with them was easy and stress free. I was big on reading reviews when planning my wedding and I had such a positive and amazing experience, it was definitely worth sharing!

Can't rave enough about them! One of our favorite vendors. From our first visit at the beautiful office and friendly staff, to our food tasting where they set up a romantic little table and treated us like our wedding was unique and special. Always responded within a day during planning process. When the day came I never worried about the set up or anything, cleared tables quickly, and bar staff worked there butts off for our 250 person wedding. Excellent, Excellent. My husband just said "So good you didn't even know they were there" haha. Can't wait to eat at the restaurant in Gaylord when we snowmobile this year!!!

My husband, family, friends, and I were all thoroughly impressed with BJ's for our wedding this past weekend. They were on-time, attentive during setup, a joy to work with while getting our quote finalized, and oh they're food is delicious too! They're bartenders kept a crowd of 260 flowing through the line flawlessly, and we are still eating the leftovers they graciously packaged up for us. Ribs are fall-off the bone (which was my requirement prior to booking!) and they're maple dressing on their Michigan salad is to die for. We held a brunch the morning after our wedding for our family, which is upwards of 100 people and we had exceptional service and food once again. BJ even gave my father in-law brisket from the kitchen to take home with us on Sunday. There's something to be said about delivering great food and service, and your owner and employees are kind on top of it. That is priceless. BJ's was our choice for our wedding caterer! They also provided our bar service. Let me tell you, when we went up for our food tasting we knew right away that they were going to be hard to beat! Shawn was our server that day and he was great! He answered all of our questions along with all of my parents questions! After our tasting we went over to the office where we met with Elizabeth to go over pricing and extras, she was also great to work with! Laid everything out on the table so we knew exactly what we'd be getting into if we chose them. While we were there we also met the owner Bob! Let me tell you, Bob is one of the best types of owners out there! He was down to earth and honest about everything! He also provided a few extra tips and took us out to see the trailers they use to prep our food the day of the wedding. All of the servers the day of our wedding were also great! We are still getting compliments on our food 2 weeks after our wedding! I highly recommend BJ's for your catering needs

Where do I even begin…Well the food was good and that was all. 1. They decorated in the incorrect colors. Sage Green does NOT mean navy blue, the colors were even noted on the contract. This went unfixed. 2. They did not set up our linens even thought it was in the contract. Friends had to sneak away and to this during our rehearsal. 3. The linens were the incorrect size, even though they said they have worked our venue in the past. This is something they should have known. To be fair, this was solved by our venues GM who had to get on the phone with the owner. 4. The staff took some of our personal decorations. They were returned after multiple calls/emails trying to reach someone. 5. The bar staff… They were nice, but that doesn’t cut it. We picked out specific wines and beers and they were not displayed OR even mentioned to the guest. There were multiple times that we or our party were at the bar and guest would ask for a beer and they would just pour a beer without asking “which beer would you like we have _ and _”. Same for the wine, they were advertised at “white and red” when we had a specific white, specific red, and a cherry wine. When this was addressed we were told “it wasn’t a hit”, which would mean every single guest I asked who said they didn’t even know it was offered was lying. 6. Upon clean up we were told that the beer that we paid IN FULL was taken at the end of the night, leaving our wedding coordinator putting the beer into mason jars so it wouldn’t be taken from us. Mind you this was not mentioned in our contract. 7. Unprofessional, when we contacted the vendor after to complain about the issues we were responded to with a snarky email. In conclusion, while they did not completely ruin our wedding it definitely put a kink in what otherwise would have been perfect. The amount of money you pay these caterers you would expect better customer service and to at least get the colors correct.

BJ's catered our wedding on June 3, 2017. It was AMAZING! The food was fantastic (great Chef, Shawn) and so many people commented on the food, service was great (Elizabeth was awesome & so helpful), and it all came together perfectly. Would totally recommend BJ's for any event.

BJs catered our June 3rd wedding in East Jordan and did not disappoint. The food was delicious and the staff was very friendly and helpful. They went as far as to carry the bride and grooms plates to help us fill them. The bartenders were friendly as well. They were timely with set up and serving food. Would recommend them for anyone's catering needs.

We hired BJ's for our October wedding at Castle farms. Susan was so great to work with over the year of planning our menu and dealing with my last minute changes. The tasting went great and the food was even better on the wedding day. All the guests loved the buffet selection we had. The bar service was excellent as well. I would highly recommend BJ's for any type of event.

BJ's catered and bartender our wedding using their portable kitchen and everyone was so impressed. The food was phenomenal,, the service was great (someone filled my husbands and my plate and carried it to the head table for us), everything was so professional. We went ahead of time to do a food tasting and knew we had made a great choice. The bartenders were great and we were so happy we chose BJ's!

Food was excellent for our wedding!!! We had BJ's for our catering and bar!! Everyone who worked our wedding was amazing!! All of my guests left full and happy!! Nothing was over or undercooked and it was all beautifully displayed!! We had so much food left over after the wedding we fed my whole family for 2 nights and it was all very delicious still!

We absolutely loved our wedding dinner! BJs did an amazing job, we heard rave reviews from our guests all night and are still hearing comments about how great the prime rib was over a week later! We had about 140 guests who came out in the rain for our outdoor wedding (we did have a tent!) and BJs staff handled the hiccup in the weather effortlessly! We live a state away but it was seamless planning with Susan, my parents stepped in to do the tasting for us and they couldn't wait for the wedding day to enjoy the food again! We also had a late night snack that turned out exactly how I pictured it, and tasted even better. I think it's the best food I've ever had at a wedding.

BJ's catering was a pleasure to work with from start to finish. The responsiveness of their staff was top notch. Susan took take of our needs and we couldn't have been more happy. Our first tasting was wonderful. On the day of the wedding the staff was readily available to help our guests, light our centerpiece candles, and ensure that everyone was enjoying their meal. Amazing! BJ’s catered and bar tended both my rehearsal dinner and wedding. The food was delicious! I received many complements on both dinners. My guests made multiple comments on how great the servers and bar tenders were! I cannot say enough good things about the food and help at BJ’s! All my guests commented how good our food was! Bj's did a great job, watch for up-charges when you plan your wedding meal there are a lot of them, we chose all of the included items and they were great, I recommend not going with the more expensive because all their "plainer" and included items were delicious! My only disappointment was the smores bar we did as a late night snack, I wouldn't spend the money on it again because they only kept it open 20 minutes and barely any of my guests got to use it.

BJ's provided excellent catering services for our wedding at Castle Farms on June 14th. We were absolutely pleased with Margaret and her wonderful ideas and suggestions! Our tasting experience was truly pleasurable and we enjoyed all the courses that were presented to us! We were expecting small samples of each item (using a toothpick to taste), and we were given a full out five course meal with our different options. Everything was absolutely delicious! The entire planning process was extremely smooth from setting up rentals, the menu, bartending services, etc. On our wedding day everything was perfect and the food was just as delicious as our first tasting. All of our guests were impressed with the food as and we continue to receive compliments from family and friends who attended our big day. Margaret was excellent in keeping in touch and was always prompt in follow-ups and responding to our questions. We live in the Upper Peninsula, so we communicated mostly through phone and email. We also used BJ’s for our bartending services. We had two bartenders who were very professional and focused. Our friends and families know how to drink and know how to party and they both kept up all night long. We would not hesitate to recommend BJ’s to anyone seeking their type of services.

BJ's Catering has the BEST food around. We met them at the Bridal Show at the Castle Farms and couldn't be any happier! Our wedding guests loved all the appetizers and food from Bjs! The prime rib is sooooo tender! The Shrimp Tartes are amazing, as well as the gouda puffs, and the veggies are to die for! The mashed potatoes melts in your mouth! This was the BEST decision for our wedding. BJ's has mouthwatering meals and we couldn't be any happier to work with Ronda to get our menu for our day to be perfect! I recommend this place to EVERYONE!

BJ's did an incredible job catering and bar tending our wedding. Ronda was so wonderful to work with. She responded to emails and questions very quickly and was a huge help in planning out our menu details and figuring out our bar essentials. The day of our wedding, the service was great and the food was incredible. We got so many compliments on the menu. We wanted to have our dinner plated so that everyone was able to stay seated and get their meal at the same time, especially because we had so many guests (over 200). We've been to buffet weddings that just simply didn't flow well. Buffet style is cheaper, however, and Ronda assured us that it would run smoothly. We are so happy that we listened to her! BJ's staff was super organized and the buffet ran flawlessly. We did have the head table plated though, which I was happy with, too. The servers even came around and asked if there was anything else we needed. The bar tenders were fabulous. They were very friendly and polite. We had two bars and four bar tenders, which worked out wonderfully. There was never a line or wait to get drinks, which our guests loved! We're so happy that we decided on BJ's for our catering and bar tending. Our planning experience with them was top notch, the service and attention to detail at our wedding was wonderful, and our guests loved the food and service.

BJ's was awesome for every step of the food planning for our wedding. They had us in for tasting and helped us plan the menu to stay within our budget. The staff was amazing the night of and I've been told how wonderful the food was from so many of our guests. Highly recommended!

BJ's was great to work with. They set up a free tasting for us, and the food was amazing. It's always iffy if the food will taste the same when put on a buffet, but it was just as good the night of the wedding! Everyone raved about the food and ate a ton. They did the bartending too. The only complaint there was that since we supplied the alcohol, all the drink were really really strong so they could use less of their mixer to save money. Other than that, they were great!

BJ's was an awesome choice for our reception. The food was so good, the staff was amazing and we got great compliments from the quests! Down fall, the water goblets were still dirty from a previous party so we had to have them switched out. Overall, a 4

B.J.'s catering/bartenders were hard working, professional, and friendly. We highly recommend their service at your wedding! The appetizers, salad, dinner, and drinks were excellent! Everyone at BJ's was a pleasure to work with! Great job!

BJ's had wonderful, delicious food and they were extremely helpful and accomodating! The BBQ and pickle salad were AMAZING!!

Everything was very good

They did a wonderful job overall. I was a little disappointed that my food was done a half hour early so we have to start dinner, cutting into our picture time. I also didnt like that they cut my entire cake and left it out but didnt leave anything for us to take it home in. I can get over the small things though. They had very reasonable prices and did a great job over all. I would recommend spending the extra money and doing a few upgrades though.
